Here are some photos from today?s photocall for Tale of Tales, the new film by Matteo Garrone. The film is like? weird fairy tales? And Salma Hayek eats a sea monster?s heart? Sure. Why not? You can read more about the film here. I just wanted to cover these photos because OMG Vincent Cassel. That man? his face is perfect. Did you know he?s 48 years old? Salma is the same age. God, they are lovely. Salma is wearing the Alexander McQueen AW15 silk rose jacquard dress.
Meanwhile, I sort of missed this Salma interview with Elle Magazine. She wasn?t promoting this movie, she was promoting her skincare and beauty line, Nuance. When she spoke to Elle (the interview was released last week), Salma claimed that she doesn?t do Botox (sure), nor does she get chemical peels or fillers. Do you believe her? This is what she said:
“I use an ingredient called Tepezcohuite that’s used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin, and there’s no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us. Some of the ingredients, when I took them to the American labs, they were like ‘Oh my god! How come nobody is using this?’ This is why I have no Botox, no peels, no fillings. I’m 48. I will be 49 this year and I only use my creams.”
[From Elle]
I feel like slathering yourself in burn cream is probably not something you should brag about? But everyone has their little beauty secrets. Some people use hemorrhoid cream on their eye bags, some people use burn cream to regenerate their face. When I look at Salma? sure, I?ll believe that she?s not Botoxed or ?filled?. But I bet she tries all of the non-invasive skin treatments like chemical peels and such.
In the rest of the Elle Mag piece ? which you can read here ? she talks about her daily routines and other beauty secrets. She drinks coffee, she?ll occasionally eat egg yolk, she eats a lot of quinoa, and she (gasp!) will sometimes fly business-class or even coach. So relatable, right? Most relatable billionaire?s wife EVER! She also think Bradley Cooper is ?the catch of the year.? Side-eye.

I know I’ve been talking up women’s magazines a lot lately and pointing out how they always seem to have hotter shoots than any of the so-called “men’s magazines.” But here’s Salma Hayek at the Women Magazine Awards in Madrid, and don’t get me wrong, she looks great and all, but where’s that famous cleavage […]

| Salma Hayek now self-identifies as a feminist after rejecting the label | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last year, Salma Hayek made an oopsie about feminism. She was at an event supporting women?s rights, equality in education, etc, and she was asked point-blank if she considers herself a feminist. Her reply? ?I am not a feminist. If men were going through the things women are going through today, I would be fighting for them with just as much passion. I believe in equality.? Because we all know how feminism is the fight for inequality, correct? Anyway, Salma has a new interview with The Guardian (she promoting her adaptation of Khalil Gibran?s The Prophet) and the subject of feminism comes up again. Here are the relevant quotes:
When asked, ?What does feminism mean to you??
Salma says, ?I am a feminist because I love women and I am ready to fight for women. I am a feminist because I am proud to be a woman, and I am passionate about making the world a better place for women. I am a feminist because a lot of amazing women have made me the woman I am today. I am inspired by women every day, as friends and as colleagues?
?But ? it should not be just because I am a woman?A reflex. It should be a reflex, if someone else is being hurt, to help. It shouldn?t have to be because you are being a victim too. I work a lot for domestic violence, and people often ask me if I have experienced it. And I say, no, on the contrary ? my father is a great man, my husband is a great man. But we are all human beings, no??
?The amount of pressure on women now, it?s crazy. You have to be much better than your male colleagues, just so you can maybe try and get the same salary as them. And you still have to be a good wife and mother. And now you also have to be skinny, and you have to look 20 when you?re 40. It?s too much. We need to stop with the crazy expectations, give ourselves a break.?
[From The Guardian]
So? she?s a feminist now. Glad we cleared that up. And I sort of agree that feminism should be a reflex to inequality, which is maybe what she meant to say last year, but everything got convoluted. She also talks about how even though she?s married to a billionaire, she still pays her own bills and she insists that she has no interest in being a ?society lady.? She also threw shade at one of her other new films, Everly, because ?we don?t want to talk about. It?s not what I thought it would be. I want it to go away, that one.? Ouch.

While the rest of Hollywood basks in the afterglow of Sunday?s (Feb. 22) Academy Awards, Salma Hayek has been spending her time across the pond at London Fashion Week.
The 48-year-old actress sat front row at the Christopher Kane show, where she showed off her incredible figure in a form-fitting LBD with a thigh-high slit. She sported a small Pink bag and black pumps, but her best accessory of the night was her husband Francois-Henri Pinault.
And, the couple didn?t stop there! Salma and Francois-Henri also attended the Hunter Original 2015 presentation at the Albert Embankment Warehouse on Lambeth High Street. The Mexican-born beauty opted for a different ensemble for the later LFW show: An elegant black dress with a heavy coat, tights, and simple patent leather heels.

The winter weather is (hopefully) almost over, and from the looks of her L?Officiel Paris cover, Salma Hayek couldn't be more ready!
The Mexican actress poses with flower for the French fashion magazine's March 2015 issue. Sporting a colorful style, Salma wears pieces from Gucci along with soft, spring-inspired makeup.
Recently, the brunette beauty opened up to Net-a-porter's The Edit about pushing 50 and feeling hotter than ever. "I feel great. I looked worse in my youth! I'm in good shape right now. I never exercise my whole life, but now I do yoga. I was always borderline chubby, because I like my food and frankly, I like my wine."

I’m always a fan of the big award shows, even though I’ve never been invited to one (hint hint). Because no matter how boring they get, they’re always a good excuse for a bunch of hotties to compete to see who can drop more red carpet cleavage. It’s one of my favorite annual traditions. So here’s […]

Here’s a lesbian fantasy I wasn’t expecting to see any time soon: Rihanna and Salma Hayek. According to my sources, Salma showed up for Rihanna’s first annual Diamond Ball benefit. And while I know it’s just their first year, I’ve got a couple suggestions for next time: if they really want to make this event […]

Here are some photos of Salma Hayek at the ?Make Equality Reality? event last night, sponsored by Equality Now. According to RCFA, Salma is wearing ?a Gucci Spring 2015 forest-green suede eyelet-embroidered V-neck cap-sleeved dress with a black satin Gucci box clutch.? I?m not crazy about the look but it?s not the worst thing ever. Salma attended the event because they were giving her an award for? something. Fighting for equality, maybe. In Salma?s speech, she spoke about Malala Yousafzai, education and? why she doesn?t call herself a feminist. Here?s the full People article, which gave me a GD headache.
Salma Hayek has dedicated herself to empowering women, but when it comes to empowering her 7-year-old daughter, Valentina, the actress and activist says she avoids a heavy-handed approach.
“I don’t preach to her every day,” she told PEOPLE on the red carpet prior to receiving an award from Equality Now at the Make Equality Reality event in Beverly Hills on Monday. “She’s aware that her mommy fights for the rights of women, that there are many places in the world where they are not entitled to the rights.”
Hayek, 48, also shared that her daughter is a “big fan” of Malala Yousafzai ? and that the Pakistani activist for female education is making an important impact on her impressionable child.
“She understands who she is and what she does,” she said. “Because of this, it makes her appreciate her own opportunities for education. She knows everything I do for Chime for Change (the women’s charity she cofounded with Beyonc) and how important it is in my life. That’s all I can do. Just try to live an example of the things I believe in.”
While accepting the award, Hayek also explained why equality for women is so critical and her passion for the charity.
“It is your choice to decide what is going to be your contribution to your lifetime in the world,” she said. “If it’s going to be about women, we will provide the tools so you can know what’s going on. The next step is to create a coalition of warriors who want to create war against violence and against hate.”
Despite her passionate support for women, Hayek told PEOPLE that she does not consider herself to be a feminist.
“I am not a feminist,” she said. “If men were going through the things women are going through today, I would be fighting for them with just as much passion. I believe in equality.”
[From People]
Does Salma realize that feminists are literally FIGHTING FOR EQUALITY?! I mean, taken with everything Salma said at this event, I think she?s a feminist fighting for women?s education and women?s rights around the world ? she?s walking the walk. But she just doesn?t want to label herself a feminist because? in some bizarro world where women held 98% of all the power, Salma would fight for men?s rights. And that is why she doesn?t consider herself a feminist. *headdesk*
PS? Yes, Salma posed with Gloria Steinem.

| Salma Hayek in Gucci at the LACMA gala: beautiful or awkward? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some fashion photos from the 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala honoring Barbara Kruger and Quentin Tarantino. Considering Salma Hayek?s husband Francois-Henri Pinault is some huge deal and he partially owns Gucci, that means Salma gets first choice of all of the possible Gucci looks at the Gucci-sponsored event. I think she chose wisely, because her Gucci was possibly my favorite of the evening. Salma looks amazing in white, and there?s just enough sparkle on the shoulders to save this from looking too bridal. It?s not a total win though ? the pleating on the bust is awkward.
Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. They miss their BFF George Clooney. Cindy looks like a showgirl.
Charlotte Casiraghi came to LA for this event. That?s very interesting! I mean, she models for Gucci so they probably asked her to come. Still? I heard a rumor that Charlotte and her baby-daddy Gad Elmaleh are breaking up. And Charlotte?s baby son Raphael will not get any kind of royal title. Maybe she just wants to be normal and have a normal (non-married) relationship with Gad. Hm. As for her look here? I?m not crazy about it.
Er, I think Liberty Ross looks terrible here! The dress is too long and Liberty looks oily.
Eddie Redmayne has been making a lot of red carpet rounds lately. I think he wants an Oscar nomination more than Benedict Cumberbatch.
Chadwick Boseman was there, making his first public appearance since becoming a Marvel superhero. Here?s your new Black Panther, in a nice tuxedo. Nice velvet detail!
