Arriving in style at LAX on Friday (October 18), Salma Hayek came into Los Angeles with her adorable little daughter, Valentina Pinault.
The "Ugly Better" exec. producer looked classy and ready to be home, her hair curled and down along her shoulders, sporting big shades, a black sleeveless blouse and belt, black skinny jeans and designer boots.
The daughter of the 47-year-old Latina beauty was cute in a wearing wrist bangles and a patterned blue and yellow dress. Valentina held her mommy's hand, covering her eyes from the glare of the cameras and wearing tan-colored slip-on's.

Salma Hayek was all over NYC yesterday to promote The Grown-Ups 2, that terrible-looking sequel to the terrible-looking ?family comedy? with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, etc. Salma plays Sandler?s wife, I believe. Here?s the breakdown of her looks: the light-colored, printed floral dress is Gucci (pretty). The black trash-bag-looking dress with sleeves is Balenciaga (terrible). The sleeveless black dress with ropes is Saint Laurent Paris (boring). All that money, and she still wears trash bags?! I bet that?s a really expensive trash bag though.
While promoting the film, Salma sat down for an interview in Spanish ? you can see the video here. Salma got a question about Angelina Jolie?s double-mastectomy and she managed to not go Full Etheridge:
It?s no secret that, apart from her talent, Salma Hayek has a curvaceous figure many in Hollywood envy. Still, the Mexican beauty confessed that she, like Angelina Jolie, would also decide on a double mastectomy if faced with cancer.
During the promotional tour for her upcoming comedy ?Grown Ups 2,? the Mexican actress stopped by Univision?s studios in Miami. On Monday, Hayek first appeared on ?Despierta Amrica? to give her co-stars a hilarious Spanish lesson but later the star discussed her thoughts on Jolie?s decision in an interview with “El Gordo y la Flaca.”
In the interview, the 46-year-old star spoke about working with David Spade, Kevin James, and Adam Sandler and the things that make her happiest. When asked whether she would be willing to sacrifice her breasts if faced with Jolie?s decision, the Mexican beauty was quick to assert she would.
?To save myself, of course!? Hayek told journalist Oscar Petit during the exclusive interview. ?I don?t know if I would have done the same [as Jolie] so quickly, perhaps I would have had more faith, thought more positively that nothing was going to happen to me. But you know, I don?t know, it?s not fair to put yourself in that situation when you haven?t been in it. I respect her decision a lot, of course. Plus, she looks great.?

I think Salma?s statement sounds pretty reasonable, especially with the ?it?s not fair to put yourself in that situation when you haven?t been in it? caveat. Salma would have ?thought positive? and waited, but that?s her choice and it doesn?t sound like she?s shading Angelina. Or maybe I?m not parsing it enough.
Salma also claimed in another interview that she could be working non-stop but she says no to so many amazing roles because of her family. She said: “I’ve said no to many things and I don’t regret it? If you notice, I only work in the summers? I’m very lucky because my daughter and my husband support me a lot in my work. So, thanks to that, I can do many things.? Yes, she?s only doing The Grown-Ups 2 because she gets offered so many amazing parts that she has to turn down.

Here are some photos of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault at the Yves Saint Laurent Menswear Spring/Summer 2014 show on Sunday. CB and I had a little mini-debate about whether Salma has had a breast reduction at some point this year. Some of you commented on that a few months ago, when Salma?s bust looked uncharacteristically small for whatever reason. Now that I?m really looking? I still don?t know. I suspect that she?s lost some weight overall, and maybe her boobs got smaller because of that? Because she does look smaller overall. Her waist is ridiculous.
As for Salma and her husband? well, Salma recently gave an interview in which she reiterated yet again why she?s so lucky to have found a skeevy billionaire who takes care of her the love of her life.
Salma Hayek believes positive thinking helped her achieve all her personal goals. The actress wed billionaire Franois-Henri Pinault when she was in her forties and together they have daughter Valentina. Although the 46-year-old star is blissfully happy now, she didn’t always have such a positive outlook on life.
“There was a time in my late thirties when I felt I wasn’t in the best shape physically, that I wasn’t finding any good roles, and that I hadn’t married or had children,” she admitted to the British edition of OK! magazine. “But then I started think more positively and then I met my future husband!”
Salma and Franois-Henri welcomed Valentina into the world in 2007 and prior to that the actress was more interested in focusing on her career. Now she has a family, she realizes what she was missing before.
“There’s nothing more beautiful in life than your family,” she gushed. “I waited a long time to find that in my life and now that I have it, I realize how important and fulfilling it is for me.”
While her family comes first, Salma is still making time for acting and appears in Grown Ups 2 alongside Adam Sandler. The stunning brunette loved working with the funny man.
“It’s a really good atmosphere to be on the set with Adam,” she smiled. “He’s such a gentleman and a pleasure to work with.”

I can?t tell if Salma just irritates me these days and so my feathers are ruffled no matter what she says, or if I truly dislike what she?s saying. Ugh. I just feel like Salma is so patronizing about her marriage, and I think she?s deluded for thinking that she and Francois have some kind of intense love match and that he loves her for who she really is. She?s even said that before, that she would still be with him if he wasn?t rich, and he would still be with her if she wasn?t beautiful with an amazing rack (I?m paraphrasing). He?s rich, she?s a beautiful trophy wife. Why do we need to pretend this is something that it?s not?
Also, Salma gave another weird interview in which she discussed how her animals were her children before she got married and had Valentina. You guys, Salma had TIGERS. And the tigers always died, apparently. Salma said: “One (tiger), caught in the air-conditioner, died. One sweet cub developed a temper and had to go. My third, Rambo, the tiger of my life, was a little baby doll? Three years we played inside our house. I can’t talk of how he died. It’s too upsetting. Before I had my child, animals were my life. I slept with four dogs in my bed.” Caught in an air-conditioner? WTF? And ?one sweet cub developed a temper and had to go?? That?s because he was a TIGER, bitch!! Tiger cubs grow up to be huge, predatory TIGERS. And it ?had to go? because she couldn?t comprehend the fact that she just needed to get a g?damn housecat instead of tigers.

Back in the United States after a trip abroad, Salma Hayek and her daughter Valentina touched down at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Monday (July 1).
Despite the long flight, the "Here Comes the Boom" actress looked lovely in a black-and-white floral-print dress as she held onto her little one's hand as they made their way through the terminal to collect their bags.
On Sunday, the Mexican-American beauty checked out the upcoming trends in men's fashion at the Yves Saint Laurent show in Paris.
The showcase was part of the highly anticipated Paris Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2014 collections.

Don?t get me wrong, I like a good close-up photo as much as the next person, but did Glamour Mag have to photograph Salma Hayek THIS close? I can see her eyebrow?s soul. This isn?t actually the old-fashioned Glamour Mag, though, this is the magazine?s new supplemental magazine for Latinas, called Glam Belleza Latina. Salma talks about her new favorite subject, herself, her beauty and her body. I remember when she had interesting things to say about life and art and feminism. Now she just talks about her body and her beauty endlessly in interviews.
Salma Hayek loves her daughter, but she wasn’t exactly basking in the glow of pregnancy before Valentina’s September 2007 birth. Recalling the experience in a new interview with Glamour magazine’s Glam Belleza Latina, the 46-year-old Mexican-American stunner says putting 50 pounds on her petite frame changed her self-perception and — initially, at least — not for the better. Ultimately, though, it made her more forgiving of her flaws.
“I gained so much weight, I got an opportunity to see myself completely disfigured in many different ways — for a very good reason — and I don’t regret it for a second,” she tells the mag. “That’s when I started appreciating my body. The things that I used to criticize, they were not that bad after all.”
That kind of self-assurance doesn’t come easy, Hayek says, especially given the pressure women are under these days.
“We’ve got to fight for our confidence every day in modern life because we live in a society that is very harsh to women,” she explains. “You have to be smart and successful and a good mother and beautiful and young and skinny forever.”
Talk about impossible expectations. Fortunately, Hayek’s own definition of living well is considerably less demanding.
“Success is happiness,” the actress tells Glam Belleza Latina. “If you’ve found the right companion for life, a good relationship with loved ones, if you are healthy — my God, you are immensely successful.”
By those standards, Hayek is a smash. Married to Francois-Henri Pinault since 2009, she’s happier now than she’s ever been.
“I believe that change keeps you young. I’m a late bloomer; I always have been,” she says. “A lot of women think that this is the [age] when you start getting depressed. To that I say, ‘No, no, no, no, no!’ I’m having the best time of my life.”

Is it really acceptable to refer to pregnant women as ?disfigured?? Imagine that coming out of a man?s mouth: ?That woman has been disfigured by pregnancy and her pregnant weight gain!? He would be blasted, and for good reason. Plus, it just sounds like a really basic lesson that Salma learned ? be happy for what you have, because it could be gone tomorrow. Most of us learn that lesson in our late teens and early 20s. Salma learned it when she was ?disfigured? by pregnancy when she was 41.
As for her definition of success? sure. But what about those people who didn?t find the ?right companion?? I guess they are unsuccessful people.

Salma Hayek covers the new issue of InStyle. The cover isn?t groundbreaking or anything, but at least they didn?t make her look awful. I?m also including a few pics of Salma and Francois-Henri Pinault from May below ? I got a few questions about whether or not Salma had gotten a breast reduction. I don?t know, but I doubt it. I think she?s a trophy wife and big boobs are part of that equation, so it?s far more likely that she was just wearing a minimizer or her clothes were just particularly boob-masking. Speaking of her trophy wife status, Salma talks a lot about how she only dresses to make her husband happy. Because that?s her life now:
Her style at the age of 47: ?I actually wear a lot of leather on the red carpet. My husband loves when I wear it.?
Going strapless at 47: ?When I turned 40, I started thinking, ?This is the last year,? whenever I?d wear a strapless dress. I always thought you can?t wear them after a certain age, but I?m still getting away with it.?
Dressing for her husband: ?I?m not really a fashionista. I have an eye. I can pull it together, but a lot of the effort I make is for my husband, because I want him to be attracted to me.?
On beauty as a priority: ?I know people have always thought I was beautiful, but I have never tried to be as beautiful as I can be. I could do a lot more?exercise, or not eat dessert. Or not drink alcohol. I could make bigger efforts. I don?t think my first priority in life has ever been beauty. It?s a little bit of a rebellious spirit in me. There is more to me than looks, of course. I think if you are afraid of getting older, you age faster.?
On her best advice to women: ?You?ve got to take who you are and love who you are and do the best you can with what you?ve got. That goes for the figure, and it goes for everything else. You?ve got to have a sense of humor about who you are and give yourself a break. You?ve got to be kind to yourself. And it?s not easy, you know??

Do we give Salma credit for being honest about dressing for her husband? I?ve gone through stages where I dressed to impress men too, although I haven?t done that in a while. Nowadays I just dress for comfort, for myself, in whatever makes me happy. I think Salma?s situation is partly cute and partly sad. The cute part is that she still worries about her husband finding her attractive, and it?s cute because that?s a normal concern that most women can relate to, and it just goes to show you that even Salma Hayek worries about men being attracted to her. It?s also sad for exactly the same reasons.
Did anyone else roll their eyes at ?I know people have always thought I was beautiful, but I have never tried to be as beautiful as I can be?? That is so? Goop-esque. The humble-brag of ?people think I?m beautiful? and then the ?but I?m not even really trying!?. STFU.

Supporting her husband's event, Salma Hayek attended a dinner for the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice with Francois-Henri Pinault on Wednesday (May 29).
The "Frida" star looked gorgeous in a long-sleeved knee-length black leather dress with a matching clutch and high heels as she posed with her hubby.
Based in Venice, the non-profit cultural institution aims at restoring the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore and re-integrating the island into the life of Venice.
Just the day before, the 46-year-old actress arrived in the city with Francois and their daughter Valentina and promptly took classic ride on a gondola.

Heading to Mexico to promote their new movie, the stars of "Grown Ups 2" attended the photo call at The 5th Annual Summer Of Sony at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Cancun on Thursday (April 18).
Dressed casually for the event were Taylor Lautner, David Spade, Adam Sandler, and Kevin James, while their beautiful costar Salma Hayek opted for a brown short-sleeved knee-length dress and platform heels.
The sequel follows Lenny as he moves his family back to his hometown alongside his old posse of childhood friends.
Directed by Dennis Dugan, the flick also stars Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Tim Meadows, Maria Bellow, Colin Quinn, and Steve Buscemi. "Grown Ups 2" hits theaters on July 12th.

Here are some photos of Salma Hayek in Paris last night, walking the carpet for ‘The enchanted world of Jacques Demy’, an exhibition opening at the Cinematheque Francaise. I can?t find the designer ID on her suit or blouse, but I?m sure the ensemble comes from one of the collections her husband owns. I think the suit would have been much better with a cleaner, more tailored blouse, or at least a blouse that didn?t look so fug and dated.
Salma was recently in London to promote that Chime for Change event which we discussed in the John Legend post less than two weeks ago. Salma and John did some events and press for the event, and Salma ended up giving an interview to The Guardian. So, this is kind of old but I haven?t seen it get any play on other blogs, so it should be new to you! You can read Salma?s full Guardian piece here, and here are the highlights I wanted to discuss:
Her childhood: ?I was privileged to grow up in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico with my parents [Diana, an opera singer, and Sami, an oil company executive] and my younger brother, Sami. It was a close community, we lived near the ocean and we would be outside all the time with the neighbours’ kids, running free, playing football on the streets and at the beach. What better place could there be for a child??
Her mom was a philanthropist: ?My mother was devoted to helping people ? with my father’s money! ? who had great voices but didn’t have the financial means to study music. He and my mum gave away dozens of music scholarships, and my mum opened a school in town, introduced opera to children and created fantastic programmes. With my father’s help she brought in teachers from Mexico City. They would train anybody who had a good voice, and several of her students are now working as professional singers.?
On women?s rights: ?I have always been inspired by my parents to carry on helping people ? mainly in fighting for justice for women around the world, which is the focus of Chime for Change [a global campaign to raise funds and awareness for girls and women's empowerment]. We are concerned about all women’s issues relating to justice, education and health. If you look at any other group of people suffering injustice, women are always in the worst situation within that group. And the problem is growing. For example, human trafficking in America is a booming business. There is still so much domestic violence and a general lack of laws to protect women. We have to make sure women around the world are respected and valued.?
She likes being a mom: ?I like being a mother. For some people it’s so much work that it can be a burden. But it’s not for me, maybe because I had my daughter, Valentina, later on in life, at 41. I have never been apart from Valentina for more than a week ? even when my husband, Franois-Henri Pinault, and I went on our honeymoon, we were only without her for one week.?
She loves being a wife & homemaker: ?I love being a wife and homemaker ? because it’s my choice. My friends who don’t have children say it’s impossible to get together with me because I don’t want to talk about anything else except motherhood. But being a mother is more exhausting than working, and sometimes I push myself too hard and burn myself out. I can appreciate how exhausting it must be for women who have to do everything themselves all the time. I don’t have to work now, but I have to work because it’s not about money, it’s about passion. It is part of my personal evolution.?

I can understand when a middle-class woman describes herself as a ?homemaker? ? my mom was a homemaker when I was really young, and it IS an important job, raising children and running a home and all of that. But I don?t understand how Salma considers herself a homemaker when she is married to one of the wealthiest men in the world, she has a fleet of staffers eager to jump to her every whim, plus she probably has nannies, maids, etc. Plus, she?s still acting (in crap like The Grown-Ups 2, no joke), and she?s promoting her recently launched skincare line. So how in the world is she a ?homemaker??
