It was the surprise TV hit of the summer and now SyFy has nabbed its two leading stars for "Sharknado 2."
Set in New York City, the sequel will include both Ian Ziering and Tara Reid in their roles as Fin and April.
Shooting for the far-fetched flick is scheduled to begin in the Big Apple in February for a July 2014 release.
According to the network's executive vice president Thomas Vitale, "Sharknado' was an extraordinary ?perfect storm' which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe. couldn't go anywhere without hearing about 'Sharknado!' By reassembling the creative team?and dropping sharks onto New York's iconic sites?we're unleashing yet another ?fin' wave of shark-mania."

Back in November 2012, Tara Reid was involved in a bar fight that nearly blinded her after she was “glassed” by a stranger. Now she’s in court testifying. Why am I just hearing about this now? Oh, that’s right. Probably because I didn’t care.
Court docs say Reid was out celebrating her 37th birthday at a London club that night. While sitting in her VIP section, a British model, Maryam Hassan, desperate for attention, kept bothering her and her group. Maryam threw her drink at Tara shouting, “you whore, you slut,” and Tara threw her drink back at her. Said Tara, “She went crazy, she went psycho like Naomi Campbell.” Maryam then smashed a glass into Tara’s face.
?I noticed a female who kept approaching the table a few times? She came up to me and threw the contents of her drink over my chest. I reacted immediately and threw my drink over her. It was so quick, she stood close to me within arms? length, and smashed the glass in my face.?
Tara also says Maryam shouted out some racial abuse to the bouncer who tried to break up the fight.
According to Tara, she couldn’t open her eyes because she was afraid she’d be blinded. She was rushed to the hospital and treated for a corneal abrasion. While she consulted with a plastic surgeon, it’s unknown whether any surgery was needed.
Unable to hypnotize the judge with her stomach ripples, Maryam was cleared by the Southwark Crown Court.

Tara Reid hit up Miami Beach over the weekend showing off those plastic surgery scars on her stomach. She’s basically a walking PSA on the dangers of plastic surgery.
Granted, those scars look way better than before but they’re still noticeable. They make her stomach look like a map of Middle Earth.

Bringing the heat to beautiful Miami, Florida, Tara Reid hit the beach for a day of sand, sun and surf on Sunday (November 24).
All smiles on the white sand, the "Sharknado" hottie wore a stringy blue, flower-print bikini, wrapping tightly around her, as she showed off her rock hard abs and perfectly trim curves.
The 38-year-old blondie is also working on an Australian horror flick, named, "Charlie's Farm," which is currently in pre-production, and set for release Down Under on June 1st, 2015.
According to the synopsis, "In an effort to do something different, four friends head into Australia's outback to explore Charlie's Farm, the site where a violent family met their end at the hands of an angry mob. Despite all warnings, they persist in their horror-seeking adventure."

Here is Tara Reid hosting a Halloween party at the Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Before heading inside, she posed for photos on the red carpet and while she looked radiant facially, her figure looked worryingly slender.
The ?American Pie? actress showed off her worryingly thin frame in a Roman-themed bikini costume which left very little to the imagination, complete with stripper-style Perspex heels.
She looks much, MUCH better than expected.. so…would totally smash beyond belief..

There are two important things to take away from this Tara Reid appearance at the 1st Annual Legends Beyond Gala.
1. Tara Reid was invited to a red carpet event. Granted, the other big name celebs who showed up included Bobby Brown, Vivica A. Fox, Joe Brown and Richard Simmons.
2. Tara Reid found someone who would date her. Erez Eisen. In Hebrew that means “Manwho loves fake tits and ripply stomachs.” I think. My Hebrew is a little rusty.

Here are some photos of roottastic Tara Reid and spongehead Ian Zierling at the Los Angeles premiere of Sharknado on Saturday night. I’m not quite sure why they’re holding a premiere for this bloody movie since the whole of Twitter (except for me, apparently, because the trailer was enough) has watched this movie already on Syfy. I find it rather hilarious that Syfy has gotten all excited and decided to greenlight a sequel for theaters based merely upon Twitter trending. Oh well.
In terms of casting, there have actually been some pretty predictable gossip about the sequel. First, TMZ started the rumor that only Ian was invited back for the second movie (while Tara was rejected), but then producers said they’d “be lucky to have her back,” and Tara is supposedly holding out because she wants to see the script first (LOL). Further, Tara is said to be gunning for her BFFs, the Jedward twins (those zany UK singing sensations), to appear in the sequel and do some “soundtrack” work. There’s no script for the sequel as of yet, but I’m sure they’ll hire some hack to write it sooner rather than later.
Let’s talk about Tara’s dress though because she looked like a hot mess (and to think, I had such hopes for her after the American Reunion premiere) as usual. What would you describe this color as …. salmon? I guess that’s fitting for the theme of the movie. I’ve got no designer ID on this dress, but that’s to be expected because it is awful and looks like it came straight off the rack at Sears.
She looks so happy! But because she’s Tara Reid, she’s got lipstick all over her teeth.
You know, I actually am glad to see Tara on a red carpet instead of boozing it up in Cannes with some gross, 60-year-old jewelry designer on her arm and in her pants. Here are a few more photos of Tara (age 37) in another mullet dress at last Thursday’s Young Hollywood awards. Somehow, Tara’s roots weren’t nearly as prominent as they appeared on Saturday’s premiere. Maybe it’s the different lighting at work.

Eager to show off their latest work, Tara Reid and Ian Ziering were on hand for the premiere of ?Sharknado? on Friday night (August 2) in Los Angeles.
Lovely in a spaghetti-strapped Pink frock, the ?American Pie? alum posed beside her handsome co-star on the red carpet in front of the Regal Cinemas L.A. Live.
The sci-fi horror movie is officially described as follows: "When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature's deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace."
Surprised by the flick's cult status, the blonde beauty told reporters, "Today I was doing all the interviews with the UK, and it went huge in Australia, 11 more countries bought it in Asia. It's going viral. This movie has become such a crazy phenomenon.?

Tara Reid has been leading the bad fashion parade all week at Cannes, and last night’s AmfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS gala was no exception. Here Tara showed up again with Fawaz Gruosi, her possible 60ish-year-old boyfriend or “arranged companion” or whatever. All we really know is that the dude is a billionare and is far too tan for his own good. Speaking of which, Tara might have been trying to fit in better because she’s wearing a ton of bronzer. While Tara’s grey embroidered dress wasn’t as bad as the one she wore at the de Grisogono bash, this gown committed the ultimate fashion sin of being boring as hell. Tara could’ve dressed it up a bit with a high ponytail, but she chose instead to go with the boring bun. The better to see the drunkness and the overdone bronzer, I guess.
Jessie J wore a Louis Heal gown that I probably would have liked a lot more if it were a solid color instead of a leopard print. The asymmetrical slash across the top of the dress is only for effect because the underlying color doesn’t match Jessie’s skintone, and there’s no cleavage shining through for all to enjoy. However, that slit all the way up the leg is the real deal because check out what happens when she walks! That was almost a booty flash. Jessie’s black ankle booties are funky and fun too.
Milla Jovovich seems slightly improved from her other disastrous Cannes looks in this Atelier Versace gown. I like that she paired her accessories to match the grey-silver-gold metallic fabric of the dress, but the molded bustier cups are seriously freaking me out. The dress also looks rather uncomforable with a corset and boning effect, but sure, it’s better than the rest of the stuff she’s worn this week. Otherwise, Milla does seem really “off” at Cannes this year, and I’m wondering if she’s possibly been replaced by one of the Alice clones from the Resident Evil movies. Either that or she’s gotten some work done on her face, which would be a shame, but hopefully Milla learned something from her vaneer catastrophe and won’t mess with her gorgeous face.
Berenice Bejo wore a Giambattista Valli couture gown with a weather-appropriate orange white print, and she carried one of the Olympia Le Tan “book” clutches. I am not in love with this dress at all, and I think the boring hair and makeup do it no favors either. Such a lackluster look from such a beautiful woman.
