I’ve decided I am definitely going to go see Reese Witherspoon?s new movie, Home Again, but I still cannot figure out what it?s about. I get that it?s a single mom who lets three young men come live with her but beyond that, I?m lost. However, I assume the bulk of the movie is Reese?s character rediscovering herself+ though her relationships. Reese?s real life relationships seem to be a little tidier than those in the movie. She has been married to Jim Toth for six years and is mother to three kids, Ava, Deacon and Tennessee. From what I can tell, Reese does seem to be a pretty dedicated parent. It looks like she and Ryan Philippe, Ava and Deacon?s father, were able to put aside their differences post divorce to co-parent amicably. Tennessee is only four so we don?t see much of him, which I also applaud. Recently Reese spoke a little about her kids and their differences. She also shared some of her parenting advice about celebrating your kids individuality and I have to say, I couldn?t agree more.
[Of your kids] gives you the best advice and is the most critical?
My daughter gives the best advice. She?s a really good listener.
My middle son Deacon, who?s 14, kind of tells me when I?m embarrassing everyone in the family. When I say things like ?lit.?
He?s like ?Don?t say that. That?s not a thing.?
How important is it for you to help your kids discover themselves?
I think the most important thing is that you figure out what your kids are passionate about and what they?re good at and don?t expect them to be like you. It?s your job as a parent to figure out who they are.
We?re excited about this new morning show project you?re working on
I?m excited. I can?t talk too much about it. It?s definitely interesting. I?ve lived in a world where I?ve been interviewed for 35 years and it?s kind of interesting to flip it around and see what the other side looks like and how journalists live their lives.

Reese went on to say, “I think the older you get, you realize you don’t know anything about anything, you know?” Everyone tells you this when you’re young but you really don?t believe until you start navigating adulthood. I don?t think I do anything the way I thought I would. The Mister and I were just discussing watching our kids develop their own interests and how it?s probably our favorite thing about raising them. That shocked me, too, because I thought what I would enjoy the most was watching them develop a taste for everything I loved. It?s not only important that they become their own person, it?s a lot more interesting. The only thing I dictate is what football team they route for. Even then I give them a choice: they can route for the 49ers or sleep outside during football season. As for embarrassing the kids, that?s our right as a parent. For mine it?s my car dancing. It makes me sad too because they used to join in. I just don?t know where I went wrong with them.
I?m excited for the Reese/Jennifer Aniston collaboration. I think both are good comedic actresses, even if they don?t veer far from their well-worn paths. Plus, I loved their chemistry on Friends so yeah, I?m all in on whatever it turns out to be. In my fantasy, their show is a cross between their rom-com niche and The Earliest Show parody.

At the end of the day, I don?t have a side with the Remy Ma-Nicki Minaj beef. I thought Remy came for Minaj and really called Minaj out on her bullsh-t. I thought Minaj should have and could have done better to respond to Remy in a timely fashion, but Minaj obviously played it like Remy was beneath her and Minaj?s Barbz fell in line for the most part. They?ve both sniped at each other a few times in the past few months or so. It was a fun drama for a few weeks but I actually forgot that their fight was a thing. Until last night, when Minaj and Ma both attended the VMAs and MTV was hyping it like all of the drama was going down. Very little drama went down.
First, the fashion stuff – Nicki wore this Atsuko Kudo latex catsuit which really shows off her weight loss. Nicki has always been a lot smaller than I think people realize – she seems like a short, compact person, but she used to be a little bit thicker. She?s lost a lot of weight in the past year. As for the catsuit? it?s what I would have expected on Nicki Minaj. It?s on-brand. Remy Ma wore a really sad Dsquared2 dress which was unflattering. Something nice: her makeup looked great, better than Nicki?s.
So what went down at the VMAs? A whole lotta nothing. A few years ago, Miley Cyrus started a beef with Minaj and Minaj answered at the VMAs by yelling across the stage, ?Miley, what?s good?? So when Remy appeared at a commercial break to tease what was coming up next on the VMAs, she said, ?The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards are back in 2 minutes. Nicki, what’s good?” That?s it. That?s the extent of the drama. I don?t think Minaj said anything to or about Remy Ma the whole night. Remy didn?t even look that into it.

I can never get over how different Amber Rose looks with hair/wigs. Amber Rose attended the VMAs with her latest boyfriend, 21 Savage. They?ve apparently been dating for months and months and only recently became official. As for Amber?s look? I?ve always thought Amber was and is very attractive, but to me, she?s so much more striking when she?s bald or buzzed. When she has hair or a wig, she looks like everybody else.
Calvin Harris attended the VMAs, so that was yet another reason why Taylor Swift didn?t show. Calvin tried to rock some new facial hair, which is amusing. People were making fun of him online. I don?t know – I think he looks okay. Not the best, not the worst.
OMG, Vanessa Hudgens in this Yanina Couture. THE WORST. I remember when people came to the VMAs in rock n? roll attire. At some point, it became fashionable for some women to actually wear ballgowns and try-hard cocktail dresses. I feel like A) this dress is terrible, and it would have been terrible at any event and B) particularly for the VMAs, this was a bad choice.
Gal Gadot didn?t even walk the carpet, which is a shame because her dress was very cute.
