| Hailey Baldwin was called a 'fake Christian' for celebrating Halloween | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I grew up in a moderately-sized Southern community and I can remember being a little girl and how Halloween was a big, fun deal. Like, there were school-sponsored hay rides and they would turn the school?s gym into a ?scare house? and everything was about witches and blood and gore. And then it shifted in my lifetime. The churches got more involved. Suddenly, Halloween wasn?t supposed to be ?scary,? and maybe it shouldn?t be celebrated at all. Suddenly, churches would sponsor other activities wholesome activities on Halloween night. And schools were no longer supposed to support scaring children. To this day, there?s a lot of conversation in the Southern Baptist and Evangelical communities as to whether good Christian kids should be allowed to go Full Pagan for Halloween.
Well, Hailey Baldwin isn?t part of that conversation. Hailey belongs to that cult-like Hillsong Church, and one of Hillsong?s pastors wrote a screed about how he celebrates Halloween and Hailey agreed with him. She also defended herself against claims that she?s a ?fake Christian? for dressing up for Halloween.
Hailey Baldwin is defending her right to celebrate Halloween. On Wednesday night, the model ? who married Justin Bieber (again!) during their second wedding ceremony last month ? reposted a message to her Instagram Story written by a fellow Hillsong Church member, New York City-based pastor Nathan Finochio, which justifies the choice to celebrate Halloween as a Christian despite criticism from some who see it as a pagan practice and un-Christian due to the popular glorification of things like witchcraft and the devil. Finochio?s explanation was written in response to a question submitted on Instagram which asked him if Halloween was a ?yes or no.?
?I?m a Christian. Do you have any idea what that means historically? It means I redefine everything in culture,? he wrote, as captured in screenshots by BuzzFeed News. ?Pagan Feast of Winter Solstice? Oh that?s now JESUS BIRTHDAY. Pagan Feast of Spring Planting? Oh that?s now EASTER WEEKEND. Pagan Celtic Festival involving dressing up and warding off evil spirits? Oh now it?s All Saints Day and we celebrate the VICTORIOUS CHURCH THAT HAS OVERCOME THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB!!! CANDY PLEASE!!!?
?I?m not afraid of the world,? he continued. ?I?m not afraid of any devil or demon or incantation. They are terrified of me. Halloween is now MY HOLIDAY and I am claiming all candy for the glory of God and the celebration of the Saints. What now? I?ll dress up however I like! My favorite characters, pop culture stuff, whatever. It?s my party and you?re invited. I?m alive today and a Saint tomorrow. Give me candy.?
When Baldwin, 22, reposted the message to her story, she tagged Finochio?s account and added the words, ?YASSS.?
Last week, Baldwin ? who grew up as an evangelical Christian ? was met with some backlash after asking her followers for Halloween costume ideas on an Instagram Q&A posted to her story. Multiple outlets, including BuzzFeed News and Fox News, report that when one follower asked her, ?Aren?t u a Christian?? Baldwin responded by simply writing, ?Yes. I still dress up for Halloween.? When another called her a ?FAKE CHRISTIAN,? Baldwin responded by writing ?our kids are gonna celebrate too? in reference to her and Bieber?s future children.

That pastor sounds like a nutjob, but the essence of what he says is true, and I never really understood why other church folks don?t see it the same way the religious holidays they celebrate are all based on pagan holidays anyway, and those holidays are what you make them. Anyway, I plan on celebrating Halloween as I always do: by turning off my lights and watching a movie. I used to get candy for the neighborhood kids but they aren?t allowed to trick-or-treat anymore. They?re too busy at church.

| Jessica Biel wants to work in a morgue, finds dead bodies fascinating | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jessica Biel has a new show called Limetown. She plays the host of an NPR-type podcast looking to solve an old mystery about a town whose entire population vanished (but it?s not Roanoke ? or maybe that?s the twist, I don?t know). I watched the trailer and it did nothing for me, except reminded me that Stanley Tucci (who is in it) is brilliant and then I got sad because he has to play a supporting role to Jessica Biel. The good news is the show is on Facebook and I quit that bitch long ago, so I don?t have to watch it. Jessica visited Late Night with Seth Meyers to chat up Limetown and to do so, she wore a sheer, lace, full-body jumpsuit. I don?t have pics but the Daily Mail does if you want to see it in it?s full glory. The DM calls it ?racy,? I call it ?dumb.? Seth asked her about the show and how she got into it (she?s also an executive producer) and Jessica said that True Crime is her life. Apparently, she listens to it whenever she can and would go 24/7, if only her demanding schedule would allow. When Seth suggested she start her own true crime podcast, she said she?d love to because she could make a lot of money and not have to be on camera. Then she decided she wanted to do books on tape because she?s, ?not sure (she has) anything to say, but I could do other people?s work.? So Seth brings her back to topic, and this is what transpires at the 1:04 mark (it?s queued). I?ll transcribe the bit I?m talking about below:
I feel like if you do a True Crime podcast, you?d do a little research ahead of time. They don?t just give a thing and be like, what happened? Explain!
I?d have to investigate, I?d have to be an investigative journalist, which is what I really want to do. Or, like, work in a morgue. It?s like one or the other.
You would work in a morgue
I?m fascinated by the human body. By the anatomy, I want to see the muscles, show the thing, show me the bones
[From YouTube via Just Jared]
I always wonder if these people who claim to suddenly be obsessed with whatever their latest project is are actually obsessed with it and had the clout to seek those projects out or if the real answer is, ?these guys were willing to pay me so that?s why I?m doing it.? I guess the former makes better chat show content. I guess her producing both The Sinner and Limetown gives her claim some credence. Whatever. When it comes to Jessica, the only thing I am interested in is that she keeps her uneducated, dangerous anti-vaxx blithering out of my g-d capitol building.
The segment goes on and Seth suggests Jessica should do a morgue podcast called Jessica Biel: Who?s in This Drawer in which she talks it through like ?those unboxing videos,? (my gawd, but I love Seth). As for the morgue part, I?ve never been around a dead human, save for the occasional open casket. But I never had trouble dissecting things in biology labs. I understand the fascination with unpacking how an organism is made up, primarily because they?re so well designed. And I love talking to myself, which would be acceptable in a morgue. But I don?t think I would want to work in one. If I?m being honest, it has more to do with the embalming fluid smells than all the bodies. And the fashion, I?ve gotten used to wearing open-toed shoes. So I?ll let Jessica have my morgue application. Lets face it though ? Jessica Biel is not yearning to do investigative journalism or morgue work instead of having an acting career.

| Gwyneth Paltrow: 'I reserve the right to?have a facelift or whatever at some point' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gwyneth Paltrow took part in Vanity Fair?s New Establishment Summit on Tuesday. VF published quotes from the discussion on Wednesday, and here we are. Gwyneth obviously gets invited to speak at these kinds of things now because of Goop. Goop is a financial success and, I suppose, a ?branding success.? If you say something is ?Goop,? everyone knows what that means it means fake-science-y and pandering to rich women. Gwyneth chatted with Jenna Lyons about aging, Goop, and how she profits when everyone hates on her. She also made this aside about her husband Brad Falchuk and why she signed on to do The Politician: ?Hes really good in bed.? Ick. Some highlights:
On Botox & plastic surgery: ?I mean theres nothing like high def TV to make you rethink your lack of, you know, Botox? We?re living in a time where there are all these amazing things that are available to women who are aging and I?m just not sure how I feel about it yet. Ive tried like little things here and there but I haven?t felt comfortable really pursuing it. I reserve the right to do it or have a facelift or whatever at some point; Im not saying I wouldn?t but I think there is a part of me that feels conflicted on some level about it. Sometimes I see these those gorgeous, old French movie stars and they just are, and its just very sensual in a way. Its extremely empowering to just be yourself and not lose your sensuality and your, your femininity, but we?ll see. I?m not making any promises.?
Gooping since 2008: ?I thought obviously I have no authority to do anything like this and no one?s going to take me seriously. I have learned so much. And so much by making such grave mistakes that have cost millions of dollars.? She didn?t elaborate on specific mistakes, but did share that whenever the content on Goop got negative press, it eventually become a boon for the company. ?In many cases, it really benefits us because like we rank number one or two in SEO for a number of these topics that are now really super popular. Like, you know, detox and celery juice for example.?
She invented gluten-free diets: ?I mean, I wrote a gluten free cookbook like eight years ago and people wrote that Child Services should be called on me because I was starving my children. That was a good one. And you know, now gluten free is mainstream.?
Libra vibes: ?I think that you know something about me that thats gotten me into a lot of trouble in my life and also gotten me to amazing places is like, theres something inside me?maybe it?s that Im a Libra?but I was just like have to do this, I have to speak my mind. I have to speak my truth and let the chips fall where they may.?
Her Netflix show, The Goop Lab With Gwyneth Paltrow: Her employees explore ?boundary-pushing wellness topics? for a half-hour. ?We actually are just building our HR department now. But of course we have people agree and sign waivers like the staffers who went out to the field and try things. It was, it was all done properly.?
[From Vanity Fair]
How she frames the gluten-free thing is Classic Gwyneth. Once again, I?m here to provide context: originally, she said she was doing the gluten-free thing because her bones were turning to dust and she was basically malnourished, and she went doctor-shopping until someone told her to try to eliminate gluten, and she then forced a gluten-free diet on her kids. That was how she originally told the story, but of course there are other versions now, and of course she now claims to have invented gluten-free diets basically. And if she just up and eliminated gluten and made her kids go on some weird fad diet because SHE went doctor-shopping, than yes, she?s a sh-tty mother.
As for what she says about Botox and plastic surgery? it made me remember, years ago, when Gwyneth looked really Botoxy at the Oscars. Soon after, her old face came back. That makes me think that she really has experimented with fillers and Botox but not anything crazy or long-term. But yeah? I could see her getting a face lift or more significant work, and I appreciate that she?s honest about that.
And here?s her explanation (again) for how she didn?t know about her appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Gwyneth Paltrow explains how she didn?t realize she was in ?Spider-Man Homecoming?: ?When you do a Marvel movie, they don?t put the name on anything. It?s not on the script, the scenes are redacted. They think they?re the CIA.? #VFSummit pic.twitter.com/sgyRTWHI7I
