I?ll be honest: I cannot believe that Kate has not done more on social media during the corona lockdown. I?m not saying that as some kind of hyper-critical nastiness. I?m honestly flabbergasted that the Cambridges? staff have not realized that Kate would have been applauded for doing the bare minimum in the comfort of her own country home. She could have provided a reading list for kids and parents. She could have done a few Instagram videos of simple outdoor and indoor activities to do with kids. She could have done more than one bloody Zoom call with kids or frontline workers. All it would take is maybe 30 to 50 minutes every other day, providing a touch of whimsy and ?everywoman? mom-ness to the lockdown. Instead, Kate has just been largely in the wind, like usual. (Update: over the past 24 hours, there was a flurry of activity from Camp Cambridge, how odd!) And in lieu of Kate actually getting off her royal bum, her staff are left to merely push these kinds of stories to Katie Nicholl. Did you know Kate limits her kids? screen time? Oh.
Kate Middleton is very strict on screen time and wont allow Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis their own devices, a royal expert has claimed. Katie Nicholl told Okay! magazine that the Duchess of Cambridge, 38, is keen to encourage creativity in her children during lockdown, and said they arent permitted their own mobiles or tablets.
She revealed: The emphasis during this time will be on arts and crafts, painting and doing things that aren?t screen-orientated. Kate is usually very strict on screen time and keeps it to a minimum.
The royal expert added that the lockdown at the Cambridge family home on Anmer Hall was providing a great opportunity for Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1, to get outside and explore nature. Katie revealed: They?ve got climbing frames, swings and a pond, and each of the children are in charge of their own little patch of the kitchen garden.
The family, who have been living in Norfolk for several weeks amid the coronavirus crisis, are currently preparing for Prince Louis 2nd birthday next week. And Katie revealed that despite the current restrictions, the family would do all they could do ensure he had a great day. She said that Prince George and Princess Charlotte were very likely to make their own cards and gifts for their little brother during one of their arts-and-crafts sessions. Meanwhile Prince Louis is most likely to be found playing outdoors, with Katie revealing that he was happiest when exploring the grounds of Anmer.

I wonder if Kate is discouraged from doing those cutesy videos at Anmer Hall because someone, somewhere in the Kensington Palace office is actually genuinely concerned about the optics. The optics of a barely employable woman parading around her extensive grounds and her large family mansion. But? if those optics are uncomfortable and they invite scrutiny, then why even prattle on and on about how Kate is such a normal middle-class mum with her country mansion, pond, gardens, tennis court and miles of acreage for the kids to play? Also, I feel like this is a moms-judging-moms thing. ?Well, Kate doesn?t allow her kids any time on the iPad, so you?re a bad mother if you?re harried and overworked and you aren?t monitoring your kids? screen time!?

When I recently wrote about Olivier Martinez, I was startled to realize that he?s A) still living in LA and B) still maintaining a somewhat friendly relationship with his ex-wife Halle Berry. They split in 2016, although there was some talk about them reconciling. It looks like they simply did the work to co-parent successfully though. They have 6-year-old Maceo together, and Halle is also mom to Nahla, who is 12 years old now. Since her split from Olivier, Halle has been single in the sense that she?s never seen with any dude and there hasn?t been any boyfriend rollout or anything. Halle recently chatted with Lena Waithe for an IG Live session, and Halle spoke about the joy of being single for a while:
Halle Berry is loving the single life. The actress, 53, appeared on an Instagram Live session with her friend Lena Waithe in which Waithe, 35, asked the Oscar winner if she had decided to stay single since her divorce from French actor Olivier Martinez in 2016.
?I?ve learned a lot being with my children. They are the best company for me right now, and when I divorced Maceo?s dad I?ve been pretty alone by myself going on three years now,? Berry told Waithe. ?Decidedly so, for sure. I have decided to take time. I?m very much a relationship-oriented person, I always want to be with someone. But I decided, no I?m going to slow my roll, I?m going to take a minute and I?m going to spent time with me. And it?s been so great that I think I might stay like this!?
When Waithe asked the John Wick: Chapter 3 actress if she knew she?d take a long period of time to be on her own, she said, ?I knew I was going to take at least a year, one full year. One year led to two years and two years is now leading to three years,? she said with a laugh. ?But I?m fine because I think the next relationship I have I think I will have a better chance of attracting and choosing what?s right for me because I?ve taken this time to think about what?s important to me. I no longer feel the need for a relationship so I don?t feel the need to rush or accept something that?s not totally right for me. Not that anything?s wrong with the people I?ve been with but I?m going to wait for my match or I will stay solo and be with my kids and do my life the way I?m doing it.?
Berry also had a piece of advice for Waithe and those who were watching.
?You know what I think the gift is, and this is something that comes with age, the gift of your own company,? Berry said. ?And you can start it by maybe taking a short trip, a weekend trip and seeing how that feels. I promise you, you will start to enjoy that time and being with yourself and your company being the most important company.?

Speaking as someone who has always prioritized my alone-time, she?s right. Everybody?s different, obviously, and there are a lot of men and women who ?need? to be in relationships, who need to always be in a constant state of ?in love? or ?looking for love.? That?s how some people are built. And I think for Halle specifically, it was a combination of things. Yes, she truly had a bad picker, but she also seemed to need to make every split as hyper-dramatic as possible. In some ways, she broke that cycle with Olivier. So I?m glad she broke the cycle of ?needing to be in a relationship constantly? too.

Last weekend, Trillerfest became the world?s largest virtual music festival. Over three days, more than 100 artists performed to benefit those affected by COVID-19 through donations to MusiCares and No Kid Hungry. Among the artists chosen to perform was DJ Paris Hilton, who performed a 45 minute set. The catch, however, was the club came to her living room excuse me, her Slivingroom* because quarantine wouldn?t let her go to the club. So, in order to get ready, Paris ?literally? built the whole set herself. From what I can suss, building the whole set herself meant unboxing her Amazon haul and arranging figurines on her marble island. Here is Paris ?building? her set:
According to Paris in the video, she found her load by searching everything in the categories, ?club lights, neon lights, lasers, unicorns, rainbows,? and bought it all. She admits she ordered way too much and clearly has very little idea what she?s looking at half the time. Did anyone else?s pulse start to rise when she randomly tossed items that needed to be assembled to the side without their boxes? She?s going to spent twice as long tracking down directions as she is putting things together.
