Since the anticipated reunion of iconic 90s girl power band the Spice Girls was announced, the news has gone from good to bad, with new issues continuing to arise and dash hopes of a reunion. Victoria ?Posh? Beckham and Melanie ?Sporty? Chisholm never planned to be a part of the reunion, leaving Emma ?Baby? Bunton, Melanie ?Scary? Brown and Geri ?Ginger? Halliwell-Horner to tour as GEM. But now, that mini-reunion is in question, as Victoria has enlisted lawyers to block GEM from performing the band?s biggest hits.
A source told The Sun that Victoria is concerned that mixing new songs with Spice Girls classics has the potential to ?damage? the group?s legacy. The source went on to say, ?Victoria takes herself very seriously now and didn?t want to have an association with this project which she felt she would if they sang the classic songs and marketed themselves as the Spice Girls. She got lawyers involved as she has a writing credit on the hits and co-owns the companies which control the band?s legacy and finances.?
Victoria is credited as a co-writer for the band?s biggest hits, including, “2 Become 1,” “Say You?ll Be There” and “Spice Up Your Life”. She recently told The Sunday Times, “I do think they should sing new material, though, because what we did as the Spice Girls was so special. If they sang Spice Girls songs, I think I might be a bit sad.” As for the rest of the girls, The Sun reports that they?re ?devastated? that their former band mate is threatening legal action to stop them from singing the hits, adding:
?Victoria was a huge part of their lives and now she is using lawyers to block their comeback.?
?Victoria is proud of her Spice Girls history but this suggests she wants to cut all links with the group which transformed her life.?
?She is resorting to aggressive legal letters and it is an extremely sad way for things to end after all they have been through together.?

Of course, Victoria is denying these accusations. Her people contacted the Daily Mail and asserted ?No legal letter was sent, this is a fabrication by The Sun and this story is now being handled legally by Victoria?s lawyer.?
It seems Victoria really didn?t need to bother making any effort to block the reunion (if she is actually trying to do so,) as it sure does look like it?s not going to happen at all. Geri is expecting a baby with hubby Christian Horner in October, and I think on stage performing while well into pregnancy isn?t doctor-advised. At least her fellow Spice Girls are happy about the upcoming arrival. Emma was in attendance at a baby shower thrown by interior designer Yassmin Ghandehari in Geri?s honor this past weekend. Geri posted a picture from the party on Instagram with the caption “girl time.”

Generally speaking, I like and enjoy Victoria Beckham. I think in the last four years especially, she?s softened a lot and seemed to loosen up a bit. She even smiles in public now, and occasionally wears shoes which don?t have a three-inch heel or higher. Her fashion line is going well, and she has stores around the world. Her family life seems better than ever, with an adoring husband, three growing sons and a much beloved daughter. So who is Posh at 42? As it turns out, she learned a lot in her years. She sat down and wrote an open letter to her younger self for British Vogue?s February issue, and I found it mostly charming. Even the ?that?s crazy? moments are couched in Posh?s explanation that she is fundamentally insecure about herself. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
On beauty, plastic surgery & diets: ?Your complexion will sort itself out (in fact you will launch your own make-up brand); as soon as the Eighties are over, your perm will die down, and your weight will settle itself. At school you eat Super Noodles and boxes of Frosties because they say they are fat free, and you will endure many other silly fad diets (including an addiction to green juices). Instead, learn to embrace your imperfections ? that is what I want to tell you. Let your skin breathe; wear less make-up. (And don?t ever let that make-up artist shave your eyebrows! The effects last forever.) You will always be addicted to Elnett hairspray but you will tone it down. Less of the ?Hello! I just got stuck in a wind tunnel?, please. And I should probably say, don?t mess with your boobs. All those years I denied it ? stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you?ve got.
Fashion lessons: ?You are going to have so much fun with your clothes ? PVC catsuits; chokers that say absurd things; weird spiky blonde hair. It will never occur to you that you appear ridiculous. You will turn up at awards ceremonies resembling a drag queen. But I look back at you and smile. It will add interest to your life to go from one extreme to another. I love the fact that you will feel free to express yourself. Fashion will take on added stature one day, but try not to be stifled by it. You will learn, as you mature, to swap heels for Stan Smith trainers, minidresses for crisp white shirts. And you will never be one of those people who just roll out of bed. Wear sunglasses a lot. Even inside. Especially at airports. They turn a nothing-outfit into something quite pulled together and cool.
On boyfriends and lasting love: ?Learn more about football, especially the offside rule. And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players? lounge ? although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy. While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He?s not even in the first team at this stage ? you are the famous one.) And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you. He?s going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.) I?m afraid that most of your first dates will be in car parks, which is not as seedy as it sounds. It is because your manager, Simon Fuller, will warn you, ?Don?t let anyone see you out together or you?ll get hounded.? At the time, you won?t understand why.
On marriage: Have patience. Bite your tongue. Be supportive. And preserve a bit of mystique. Never let yourself go completely (at least brush your hair, clean your teeth, have a bit of a brow going on because you will always want him to look at you and feel attracted). Always make time for each other. Because if you don?t, everything will revolve around the children and I?m not sure how sexy that is! And do not forget the person you fell in love with. You will follow your man around the world, moving from Manchester to Spain, and then America. In Spain you will revel in watching him enjoy some of his best footballing days. Spain is also where you will lay the foundations for your own fashion brand by collaborating with others on denim and sunglasses.
The hard times: ?But I need to warn you: a lot of your time there will be really hard. I?m not afraid to say now what a horribly difficult time it was. People will say awful things. You will be a laughing stock. Every time you turn on the television or look at a newspaper it will seem as though someone is having a go at you and your family. You will learn how mean other women can be. (And it will teach you always to support the women around you, to take them on a journey with you.) Others would crack under the pressure, but you won?t. Use that time to close off, to focus, work hard and protect the children. In relationships people will throw obstacles in your way, and you either manoeuvre around them or you trip up. You will never discuss with David how many children you both want; you don?t say to each other, ?Where shall we live?? You don?t discuss any of that because you will be young and in love. Even when you don?t necessarily want the same thing, your support for each other will mean that you will stick together and grow up together. And it will be worth it.

She confesses her insecurity pretty openly, and I understand that she always wants David to think that she?s beautiful and sexy. But here?s the thing: I bet if she asked him, he would tell her (honestly) that he likes the way she looks straight out of shower or whatever. It?s like Gwen Stefani saying that she liked to wear a face full of makeup at all times for Gavin Rossdale ? how can you be married to a man for so many years and never let down your guard? And I?m sorry, ?You will never discuss with David how many children you both want; you don?t say to each other, ?Where shall we live??? Er, really?
As for the breast implant thing ? we knew she once had them and we knew she had them taken out. I always thought she probably got smaller ones put in, but maybe she just had them taken out and now she?s all-natural?

Victoria Beckham has designed a capsule collection for Target that will be available Spring 2017. If you know anything about me, you know that I swear a lot more when I think my mother isn?t reading, I love shopping at Target and that Vicky B is my fanciful best friend. In addition to being my FBF, I covet her clothing line but can?t afford it. So not writing that first sentence in ALL CAPS with indiscriminate exclamation points was a real exercise in self-control. The line will be priced from $6 – $70 with most things priced under $40 and will be available in size XS through 3XL. And – she’s designed a coordinating girls line, sized NB-XL to accompany it! Of course, with all Target designer collaborations, there is only a small window to grab a little piece of Vicky for yourself. Her line will be in stores and online from April 9 ? 30, 2017. I’m sure, like their other capsule collections, this will sell out before the doors open, too. So why is Vicks doing this – other than to make my dreams come true, that is? Because she really does want to be accessible to everyone. *squee!*
Copying Victoria Beckham’s style is about to become easier?and more affordable.
“For a while now, I have been thinking how great it would be to work on clothes for a customer that either doesn’t want to pay or can’t pay designer prices,” the 42-year-old fashion designer said in an interview with Target.com. “I loved the idea of opening the brand up to a wider audience and being able to share my vision with a broader customer base. So when Target?a company based on accessibility and inclusiveness?proposed a collaboration which combined all of these things, it was an easy decision to make.”
“I have always said that the best way for me to learn about new areas is to work with an expert in that field,” she adds. “In order to do something well, you need to surround yourself with the right people, and the Target team members have been the right people for me. It has been such a pleasure working with their team. What they have provided me with is a really unique opportunity to connect with families across the U.S. I’m so excited for the months ahead, and for everyone to see a collection that I am really proud of.”
“From the outset of my brand, I have always designed clothes that I want to wear, and that’s exactly what I have done here,” says Victoria, who launched her namesake label in 2008. “But this time there are also clothes that my daughter [Harper Beckham] would love to wear, too!”

Target had a very successful relationship with Isaac Mizrahi that lasted from 2002 ? 2008. This gave birth to a high-end designer collaboration each season since 2006. Others who have gone before Vicks are: Rodarte, Jason Wu, Lilly Pulitzer, Marimekko, Missoni, Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurung, Jean Paul Gaultier and Zac Posen. And now Victoria Beckham? at Target – *sigh* I just can?t write that enough.
Victoria?s Target line will follow the look of her Victoria, Victoria Beckham line. I prefer her Ready-to-Wear line but there are some looks in her VVB line that I really like. This is the first time she?s designed children?s clothes but says she’s wanted to get into that area for a while. This is a great way to do it, see what sells and what doesn?t before you make a $500 velvet toddler jumper for the horsey set. Gah, I can?t wait to tell my Female Progeny she and I get to wear matching outfits from Aunty Vicky! Now, if you will excuse me, I have to give CB my time-off request for the month of April and practice my ?That?s MY Mandarin-Collared, Silk Tuxedo Blouse, You Rancid Witch!? karate chop.

Victoria Beckham is featured as The Edit?s/Net-a-Porter?s cover story this week. Victoria is promoting her makeup line with Este Lauder and all the clothes she’s wearing are from her Autumn line (because Vicks is too romantic to have a ?Fall? line, of course). I love this collection. It has stripes everywhere. Growing up as a child in the 70s, I am all about stripes. Plus her silhouettes are so clean and tailored.
As you can imagine, with a fashion designer discussing make-up, the interview is all beauty regime. As Vicks said during the interview, she loves to share what she?s learned and since I think she always looks amazing, I?m listening.
Being camera ready: ?I?d be getting on a plane from London, then 11 hours later, getting up, walking out of the airport terminal and being bombarded by so many paparazzi, so I wanted something that I could put on to make me look fresh. That was my starting point, actually; when I began working with Este Lauder, I said I really want to create a product that does exactly that. And the thing is, everybody is in that position now, because everyone has a camera phone. Whoever you are, everybody has to be ready now!?
Diet fixed her skin problems: ?I don?t think you realize how important [a healthy lifestyle is] until you get older. You realize how vital it is to wear sunscreen; to drink lots of water; to cleanse, tone, moisturize; take vitamins; make sure you?re eating the right food. I eat lots of good fats, in avocados, nuts, seeds, salmon… I see a dermatologist in LA, called Dr Harold Lancer, who is incredible ? he sorted my skin out. I used to have really problematic skin and he said to me, “You have to eat salmon every single day.” ‘I said, “Really, every day?” And he said, “Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.”‘
Sharing the good news: ?There are two types of women out there: there?s the kind of woman who finds something nice and likes to keep it to herself, and then there?s the other type, which is me, who wants to share. I have worked with the best makeup artists, hairdressers and stylists, and I?ve learned so much. I haven?t always got it right, but when I?ve got it wrong, I?ve actually learned an enormous amount from that, too. And I want to share everything I know.?
Her fashion mistakes: ?I have made so many fashion mistakes but I actually don?t look at them as mistakes. I celebrate those things, I laugh occasionally but I?m not ashamed of any of that. At some point I thought it was OK to wear a PVC cat suit. When I was pregnant with Romeo, I walked around Disneyland in Christian Louboutin heels, literally at nine months? pregnant!?
Looking out for each other: ?I have no time for women who don?t support other women. It?s the ultimate compliment when a woman tells you that you look good.?

One tip from a makeup artist she shares is to line your waterline with a light color to open the eye and look well rested. My eyes are a problem because they are really small. I was once told a swipe of light/cream eyeshadow right below your brow will also open the eye. That worked wonders so I am giving her light pencil tip a go.
I know you guys have discussed how much diet affects the skin. I loathe salmon so I’ll substitute that with avocados. I realize it won’t work, but I’ll use any excuse to eat an avocado. Of course, Vicky lives on a different plane than most of us. A lot of her tips include dermatologists, makeup artists, nutritionists and other ?ists? few of us can afford but at least she’s passing on their advice for free. Her Este Lauder line is not cheap but I like that she is explaining the idea behind the product. For example, in her first answer about being camera-ready, she suggests her Morning Aura Illuminating Creme. She explained that “dewy” makes you look refreshed so even if you can’t shell out $95 for her product, you can still benefit from her suggestion. Victoria also thinks a beauty routine should be for you, that, “you have to [empower] yourself, rather than rely on other people to do that. It?s great to get a compliment from your husband, or your kids, or another woman, but you also have to make yourself feel good.” And I agree with her.

Victoria Beckham showed her Spring 2017 line last Sunday at NYFW, with husband David and son Brooklyn in the front row. Personally I really like her new collection, it?s much more colorful and relaxed and shows some real growth in her designs. This skirt is my favorite. Victoria is a big name in fashion, not bad for someone on their second career. So with her mom a major fashionitsa, where does that leave her daughter, Harper? Following in her mom?s footsteps, of course – and doing so in heels. While promoting her Este Lauder makeup line on Late Night with Seth Meyers Tuesday, Victoria spoke of Harper’s long standing stiletto skills and how she jumps the line between Tomboy and girly-girl.
?She?s a little tomboy, playing in the garden with her brothers, playing football ? and [husband David Beckham] as well,? the mom of four, 42, shared of her youngest child and only daughter Harper Seven, 5.
?She?s also very girly, so she loves to play with makeup,? adds Beckham, who herself has been busy taking part in New York Fashion Week and whose own limited edition Este Lauder makeup line launched Tuesday in N.Y.C.
?She has been able to run in a pair of high heels for a long time. So proud. So proud.?

I knew Harper was my spirit child. I used to drive my mother crazy ruining my church dresses by playing football (American) on the lawn while she chatted during coffee hour. I never really broke that habit, either. If there a good scrimmage going, silk blouse be damned. I totally get Victoria?s pride in Harper?s ability in heels, but that?s not exclusive. I know many young kids who work heels better then their parents, including my own. Getting them to match those heels to the right outfit, now there?s your challenge.
Seth also asked Victoria about Cruz?s ?Cups? video, to which Victoria replied, ?We are like a traveling circus, our family. We sing, we dance, we do football, we do fashion.? I cannot tell you how much money I would pay to see the Beckham Family Traveling Circus. It would be a glorious event with color-coordinated animals that play football and dance. And Harper would be the ringleader because you know that?s who she is in the Beckham household.
While doing an exclusive for The Morning Show, Victoria was once again asked about why she never smiles. I get a little tired of her being asked this. If you watch her in interviews or her snapchats, she jokes and laughs a lot. So she doesn?t smile for press, she?s already said she doesn?t like how her smile looks in photos. With all these people adopting the open-mouth, lobotomy-patient look on the red carpet, who cares if she chooses RBF? Plus, Victoria is beautiful, rich, has a successful fashion line, a white-hot husband, adorable children, is always well-dressed and travels the world when she chooses. If she were up there grinning ear to ear, I?d accuse her of just rubbing it in my face.

Vogue UK revealed over the weekend that Victoria Beckham will be their cover girl next month. They only released a few photos so far but they are nice, if not predictable. The cover shot is lovely and we almost see a smile! Plus, I covet the coat she?s wearing. The interview includes a letter that Victoria wrote to her teenage self titled, ?What I wish I?d known.? In it, she tells of how she met her husband David Beckham, how she didn?t feel she fit in as a teen and how she feels about her fashion sense. The quotes below are from Victoria to Victoria.

Have any of you ever thought what you would say to your 18-year old self? I tend to be a pragmatist so I wouldn?t bother because my 18-year old self wouldn?t listen anyway. One thing I would really try to convince young me is to NOT light that first cigarette.
I like the tone of her letter, especially that she interjects her humor into it, even at it’s sappiest or saddest. My heart fluttered over her David story, but you all know how much I adore their union so that?s not a surprise. I didn?t know that his career skyrocketed during the course of their relationship. As for her insecurities, it does help to know that everyone has/had them, I guess. The cynic in me wonders if this isn?t Victoria?s attempt to seem more human but my heart thought her words sounded honest. Acne is a bear and if she had it, I could see that coloring her teenage experience. Whether it?s true or not, you just feel like everyone is staring at you. I am waiting for the magazine to come out to find out how she signed off on the letter. I hope she ended it by telling her younger self that it seems it all worked out in the end. Either that or “stick with the bob.” Were it my letter, I would have left some winning lottery numbers.

In it, the 42-year-old beauty showed off how she gets prettified in a mere 5 minutes, using her new products to create a ?smoky, dark, quite sexy eye,? complemented with nude lips and strategically placed highlighter. She makes it look so easy.

One of my favorite gossip moments over the past several years is the now-annual tradition of figuring out what Victoria Beckham did for her birthday. When she turned 37, she looked at a fruit plate. When she turned 39, she looked at a cake. When she turned 40, she thought about brownies. Victoria is very, very conscious of her weight. That?s been the case for as long as she?s been famous (two decades!). She never eats the cake. She never eats the brownies. She might have a few bites from a fruit plate. And as famed celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck says, she?s really ?uptight? about what she eats, even when she visits restaurants famed for their cuisine.
Veteran celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck has revealed that he finds Victoria Beckham ‘uptight’ and says that the star only orders spinach or other steamed vegetables when visiting his upmarket LA restaurant. Austrian-born Puck, 66, who is known for cooking for Hollywood’s A-listers at the Oscars ceremony every year, lifted the lid on Mrs Beckham’s saintly attitude to food…and her less than friendly approach to fellow diners.
He said that the Beckhams are regulars at his popular Cut restaurant in Los Angeles and while David, 42, will happily tuck into a steak, Victoria, 41, prefers just vegetables. Puck, who laid on the catering at the couple’s ‘Welcome to LA’ party in 2008 when David arrived in Calfornia to play football for LA Galaxy, told Heat magazine: ‘David’s there with a steak and she’s there with vegetables. She?s uptight. Everything has to be right, she’s not interested in talking to anyone.’
Puck said that while he enjoyed a friendly relationship with former football star David, who he could ‘talk and talk’ to, he didn’t feel the same way about Victoria, even suggesting that she has a ‘game face’ for public appearances. And when it comes to Mrs B’s food choices, Puck reveals his kitchen will prepare a simple plate of spinach, with just ‘a touch of salt’.

This is what I don?t get about being rich and famous and having access to incredible food: with that kind of money and access, just eat the incredible food. Go for an extra-hard workout the next day, or go on a diet next week, but don?t go to one of the best chefs in the world and ask him for a plate of spinach. That?s so WRONG. It?s a crime against food. And while I?ve heard that Posh can be friendly (or friendlier than people think), I do believe that she?s probably less friendly than David in general.
Puck also says that he knows of many celebrity women who simply stop eating for days ahead of the Oscars, and that Charlize Theron and Sylvester Stallone both love his smoked salmon pizza. And Prince Albert loved his chicken pot pie. Oooooh, now I want a chicken pot pie.

Singer and fashion maven Victoria Beckham (who will always be Posh Spice to me) recently debuted her fall and winter fashion line during New York Fashion Week and shocked the world when she hit the runway in a pair of sneakers instead of her trademark stiletto heels.
In an interview with England’s Telegraph, Victoria, who I can’t believe is 41, said, ?I think people saw the real me when I came out [at the end of her Victoria Beckham show in New York] in a pair of men?s trousers, a roll-neck and trainers.? She went on to say, “I just can’t do heels any more. At least not when I’m working. I travel a lot.”She posted a pic of her new, comfy look on her Twitter feed with a caption saying, in part, “Off for a run!” This, coming from a woman who wore sky high heels while pregnant. I am having a difficult time processing this.

Well, at least she hasn’t given up heels completely, but she has changed her personal style. She went from Posh, who couldn’t decide between “the little black Gucci dress or the little black Gucci dress” (from the underrated film classic Spice World, which also gave us this gem of a clip) to a woman designing a fashion line and promoting that “Clothes have to be simple and comfortable.” She added that her collection is ?all about making getting dressed easy. And being flattering.” The models in her runaway show back in November were sporting flat shoes, and many of the models for her fall and winter line for this year are also wearing flats. But, for some ladies (looking in the mirror right now), flats are not flattering. And, actually, as much as I adore VB’s personal style, her new fashion collection is kind of meh.
As for Posh, aside from her recent appearance at NYFW, she hasn’t completely given up on heels. In fact, she was recently seen sporting boots with a heel when she and the family were out and about in the Big Apple. I mean, come on, the woman wrote a book dedicated to high heels, 2006?s That Extra Half an Inch. (Yes, I own it. Don’t judge me.) The introduction clearly states, “As every woman knows, that extra half an inch makes all the difference.” And oh, does it. I am a heel fanatic, but I do wear flip flops and sneaks when I’m at home, so I think Victoria’s just trying to clear up any misconceptions that she’s strapped in stilettos 24/7. I truly believe that, every once in a while, we all need that extra half an inch, and I don’t think Posh would disagree.
