| Duchess Kate in white Max Mara in Portsmouth: lovely or poorly styled? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Duchess Kate is working her fingers to the bone! Poor Kate. All she wants to do is get her hair done and maybe spend a few days on some marathon shopping excursions, but the new press secretary is hellbent on proving that Kate is a charitable workhorse. So Kate was sent out to attend a reception for the 1851 Trust, which is about sailing and getting kids involved in sailing and the America?s Cup. She had to go all the way to Portsmouth and spend time with Sir Ben Ainslie. Poor thing.
Kate is around six to seven months pregnant right now ? people keep saying she?s due in April, so the math is right. She?s carrying well, it seems. If anything, I think she looks smaller during this pregnancy than with her first. Maybe that?s just the effect of a decent coat though. This white coat with a belted higher waist is from Max Mara Studio Gilles. It costs 810, or about $1400. I actually like this look a lot, and that?s saying something. Do I wish I could tweak the styling a little bit? Sure. I?m not completely sold on that tiny little belt but I like that she went with navy accents all around (shoes, sapphires and clutch). Very nautical. I also think it?s obvious that this coat was originally very BUTTONY, but she had the buttons taken off ? you can still see the indentations. That?s bad.
And here?s a Classic Kate thing: she was spending time with kids painting a mural. So of course she wore a white coat, thus limiting her ability to interact with the paint-covered youth. You can read more about the trip here.
Also: the dress under the coat was just a basic-looking polka-dotted maternity dress.

| Duchess Kate, William & George arrive in Mustique for two-week family vacay | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This ^^ is not a new cover. This Hello cover is from Duchess Kate and Prince George?s Mustique trip last year around this time. The cover was actually a ?scandal? because Kate and the Middletons pretty much set up this photo-op on the tarmac in Mustique, and when the British press people were like, ?Oh, so now we can photograph George?? the royals fell all over themselves trying to explain why this kind of paparazzi shot was allowed (hint: it was allowed because Kate set it up). Anyway, I bring this up again because Kate and George have once again traveled to Mustique for the Middletons? annual tropical holiday. Only this year, Prince William joined them, instead of heading off for a much-needed holiday with Jecca Craig (which is what he did last year).
The Duchess of Cambridge, ne Kate Middleton, has arrived in Mustique with Prince William and Prince George for the annual Middleton family holiday. They are believed to have joined Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton, along with her siblings James and Pippa Middleton for the getaway on the Caribbean island.
Kate, who is six months pregnant with her and William’s second child, will be able to enjoy some rest and relaxation on the trip after a busy month which has seen her carry out a series of public engagements and celebrate her 33rd birthday on 9 January. The family will also continue the birthday celebrations when Carole turns 60 on 31 January.
The family are reported to be staying at the stunning $20,000-a-week Aurora Villa on the island, which features a private swimming pool and sun deck, plus a butler, chef and housekeeper to cater to their every need. The 45 foot swimming pool will also be perfect for Prince George to practice his swimming skills. The tot started weekly swimming lessons in the pool at Buckingham Palace ahead of his first birthday and is said to love splashing around in the water.
Mustique has long been a favourite holiday destination for the Middleton family. The island was the destination for Prince George’s first holiday abroad in 2014, although Prince William was unable to attend as he was busy studying for his agricultural studies exams.
[From Hello Magazine]
The Daily Mirror says that the vacation is supposed to last two weeks (or more) and it?s possible that William will only stay for a short time because of his pilot exams. William hasn?t been seen since Christmas in Sandringham, by the way. He hasn?t done any royal work this year and the excuse given was ?he?s studying!!? But he can still find time to go on holiday, apparently. Anyway, we totally knew this was coming, but I have to give Kate (and the new American press guy) some credit this year: Kate managed to put in some royal work before her holidays. So, at least we can say she ?earned? this holiday, I guess. We cannot say the same for William.
Also, I have some theories/questions. Do you think William came to Mustique this year because he was ordered to stop vacationing separately from his wife and child? Do you think the Queen or Charles even said anything to him about his trip last year with Jecca Craig? Or do you think William came this year so he could SHUT IT DOWN if Kate tried to set up another photoshoot with George?

| Duchess Kate in a $75 Hobbs dress in London: pretty or poorly styled? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Duchess Kate has already done TWO royal events in 2015. Remember this time last year? Kate pretty much went dark for like three months. It was sort of crazy. But she?s got a new American press secretary and I guess he?s convinced her that if she?s going to take off for a month to Mustique and then take off two years for ?maternity leave,? she better get through some events right now. Kate met ?foster carers? in London today at The Fostering Network. You can read more about the event here, plus the new Kensington Royal Twitter has lots of photos and stuff here.
Let?s talk clothes! She wore this brown jacquard dress from Hobbs, which apparently only costs 50 (about $75). I don?t believe this dress was originally intended as maternity wear ? it seems like something that was bought oversized and then tailored to fit Kate?s bump. And you can tell that it?s been altered, especially in the back. In yesterday?s post, I noticed a lot of you were talking about the poor quality on so many of Kate?s alterations. Word. You guys are totally right. Sometimes, the alterations don?t even make sense, like adding a panel of fabric to a jacket so it can be worn as a miniskirt, rather than just investing in the coordinating pants or skirt.
What else? I find it weird that Kate wears coats as dresses (and never takes off those coats, even when she?s inside) and then she goes coat-less when it?s obviously pretty cold during an outdoor meet & greet. I also find it odd that she?s been doing so many dark colors while meeting with children (but hot Pink for the 9/11 Memorial?). And maybe this is just a minor quibble, but I really hate black or navy tights with brown clothes. They make brown tights! She could have easily done a monochromatic look with brown tights and brown heels with this dress, but she went with black tights and black shoes instead. Is this just a Southern thing for me? In the South, that?s a styling rule: don?t style your brown ensemble with black shoes. And we know she has brown shoes too! Tell me: do brown & black combos make anyone else?s eye twitch? Is it just me?

Though her pregnancy prevented her from performing the majority of her royal duties early on, Kate Middleton is making up for lost time this week.
On Friday (January 16) the Duchess of Cambridge kicked off her day with a visit to The Fostering Network in the Islington district of London, highlighting all the good work that goes on at the foster care charity. And of course, Kate looked marvelous in a dark brown Hobbs silk shirt dress that showed off her growing baby bump.
During her visit, Kate had tea and biscuits with social workers, kids and administrators while discussing the massive task of managing 63,000 children who live with 52,500 foster families across the United Kingdom. Fostering Network director Lucy Peake explained, "A visit from The Duchess helps to shine a spotlight on fostering and the need for more foster carers. We are very grateful to her for her interest, and know that the foster carers and care leavers attending our event today are excited to be sharing their experiences and stories with her."

| Duchess Kate had fancy pizza delivered to the Carlyle on her last day in NYC | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Before this week, Prince William and Duchess Kate had never been to New York. There was a rumor going around that Kate wanted to see the Statue of Liberty and maybe the Rockettes, and my mom made another good suggestion: Kate probably would have loved to go to FAO Schwartz. But as far as we know, Kate only got to do her scheduled outings, like wrapping gifts with children, cocktail parties at the consulate and a gala for St. Andrews. But still, Kate managed to have one relatively authentic New York experience: she got to have some New York pizza delivered to her hotel!
Kate Middleton is one class act, but that doesn’t mean she’s not like the rest of Us! The Duchess of Cambridge, who is pregnant with her second child, ordered pizza to her suite at New York’s swanky Carlyle hotel on Dec. 9, a source tells Us Weekly.
So what exactly does a royal get on their pizza? The insider tells Us the royal, who was taking a break before the St. Andrews 600th Anniversary dinner at the Met Museum, ordered “three very specific pizzas” from NYC eatery Serafina, which included “a spicy sausage pizza (with no mushroom) and a prosciutto “di Fabio” pizza (with no sliced tomatoes).”
The five-months pregnant duchess shared the delicacies with a Kensington Palace assistant, her private secretary Rebecca Deacon and hairstylist Amanda Cook-Tucker while she prepared for her evening engagement.
This isn’t the first time Middleton has craved the cheesy goodness either.
According to another source close to the couple, Prince William requested “two Pizza Express pizzas be delivered to their room at the Lindo Wing (at London’s St Mary’s hospital)” on the day his wife gave birth to her first son Prince George. “They both really love their pizza,” the insider told Us at the time, adding that Middleton’s also been spotted buying frozen pizzas at the supermarket over the years.
[From Us Weekly]
Usually, when a lady is preparing for a huge gala, she doesn?t want to eat anything beforehand because she doesn?t want to look bloated on the red carpet. I guess Kate didn?t care because she?s pregnant? And she might have thought that the food at the St. Andrews gala might suck? Still, I like the idea of Kate and her glam squad ordering pizzas and having a quiet moment together as they?re getting Kate ready for a big event.
And here?s Kate rolling her eyes when some bossy Yank told her to keep wrapping presents:

| Duchess Kate repeats a Jenny Packham gown for St. Andrews gala: lovely? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

And finally, here are the photos of Duchess Kate and Prince William?s final evening event for their whirlwind American trip. They attended the St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last night. This was probably the best photo event from their entire trip ? they seemed to actually spend some time posing for photos on the MmoA steps.
Duchess Kate did a repeat! This dress is Jenny Packham, and she wore back in February of this year, to an event in London. Remember these photos? It was the first time the Queen allowed Kate to borrow some major diamonds from the royal collection and Kate?s sausage curls sort of ruined the look because we couldn?t even see the jewelry. Kate didn?t make the same mistake last night though ? she finally pulled her hair back for a sophisticated evening event, hallelujah. And Kate once again had some bling to show off: her earrings are MAJOR diamonds and emeralds. According to the royal reporters, these rocks are not ?borrowed?. They were a ?private gift.? Oh, and there?s a matching bracelet? YES.
As for the fact that Kate re-wore a dress that she originally wore when she wasn?t pregnant? I?m not really surprised. She?s not showing that much and the waist on this gown is pretty high. High enough to accommodate her small bump. I do wish she?d worn something we hadn?t seen before, especially since we know she?s got a closet full of clothes we?ve never seen, but whatever. The Packham is pretty and I like it more on its second outing than the first.
Here?s a better look at her earrings:

| Duchess Kate was mistaken for Elsa from 'Frozen' while in Harlem | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are more photos of Duchess Kate?s Harlem outing on Monday. We?ll have the photos from the Nets game later, I promise! We got better photos of Kate in later on yesterday, so I wanted to use them. We?re getting a better look at her Goat coat, and the Daily Mail says that Kate had Goat (or someone) alter the $1000 coat to make it longer. You can see the extra fabric panel in these photos. Kate and her expensive coats? I?m not sure I get it. I mean, if you?re going to drop $1000 for a coat, God bless, but why double the cost to get a suit jacket altered into a light autumn ?mod? coat? Why not just buy a different coat that’s already the length you want? I guess that shows why I?m not a duchess.
Here?s an adorable story about Kate?s interaction with the kids in Harlem: when she walked into the Northside Center, all of the kids thought she was Elsa from Frozen!!! Rose Ann Harris, director of early childhood service, told media outlets: ?They thought she was the Princess from Frozen. When they heard she was coming they thought it was Elsa – we said a Princess and they got a Princess.? Well, technically they got a duchess, but sure. You know who is thrilled with this? DISNEY!!! Also: I once babysat for a kid who thought I was Jasmine from Aladdin. No joke!
After the trip to Harlem, Kate then went solo to a lunch at the British Consul General?s home in NYC. It was a nice luncheon full of British ex-pats or Brits who just live and work in NYC just because. The group included Matthew Rhys (yum), Colin Callender, Simon Collins, and more. They ate poached salmon and a dessert of apple and rhubarb crumble. No liquor for Kate either! Not even a sip of wine, apparently.
As for how Kate is feeling on this trip? by most accounts, she?s perfectly fine. In photos, she looks fine, maybe a little bit tired (but that could be jet lag). However, wherever she goes in NYC, she?s being trailed by an ambulance. No joke.

She always seems to know just what to wear and when Kate Middleton showed up at the EACH Appeal Launch on Tuesday (November 25), she scored all kinds of style points.
The Duchess of Cambridge selected a gorgeous red dress from Katherine Hooker for her apparel as she launched the East Anglia Children?s Hospices at the Norfolk Showground in Norwich, England.
During her remarks, Kate declared, ?I greatly admire the dedication, generosity and achievements of the charity?s supporters and volunteers, and look forward to seeing the progress of this campaign.?
Ms. Middleton?s visit is the beginning of a fundraising drive to raise $16 million to build and equip a new children?s hospice in the Norwich areal.

The pregnant Duchess, a keen amateur photographer, stepped out for her second engagement on the day she appeared in public for the first time in 11 weeks after suffering an extended bout of hyperemesis gravidarum, the severe morning sickness that also blighted the early stages of her first pregnancy with Prince George.
