Ready for a fabulous affair, Kate Middleton arrived at the National Portrait Gallery in London, England this evening (February 11).
The Duchess of Cambridge donned a stunning blue evening gown paired with an amazing diamond necklace as she greeted guests before heading inside.
The 32-year-old is the guest of honor at the event celebrating the work of Man Booker Prize-winning novelist Hilary Mantel.
Kate will have to hold in any anger after Mantel caused outrage last year with comments made towards the Duchess about her role in the British monarchy.
While Middleton was pregnant with baby George, the author said that Kate had gone from being a ?jointed doll on which certain rags are hung? to a woman whose ?only point and purpose? was to give birth.
Now, the author?s ?pen portrait? of Thomas Cromwell is the reason for Kate?s visit this evening, as she promotes the work at the National Portrait Gallery?s fundraiser.

| Is Duchess Kate spending her 32nd b-day in London with her mom & no Will? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Prince William checked into Cambridge for his first day of ?school? on Tuesday. Apparently, he arrived on campus in the morning, and he went back to London in evening. But there are still arrangements for William to have an apartment (either on campus or campus-adjacent, the details are sketchy), so I?m thinking he probably won?t make it back to London even half the time he?s doing this bespoke course. When we were discussing it on Tuesday, I asked what you guys thought Duchess Kate would do in William?s absence. Would ?looking after Prince George? be sufficient, would Kate take the baby and go home to her mom?s house? Would Kate be allowed to briefly outshine William and take on more solo charity work? The answer so far is ?none of the above.? While William?s away, the girl?s just shopping.
As William began his Cambridge course in agriculture Tuesday, his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, headed out for some retail therapy ? just in time for her birthday.
Dressed in a baby blue coat, Kate, who will turn 32 on Thursday, checked out the home furnishings and picked up some supplies at one of her favorite department stores, Peter Jones, in London’s Sloane Square. Also spotted in the store: her mother, Carole Middleton, 58.
Fellow shopper Louisa Smith saw Kate in the cashier section, and noted that there was very little fuss about the VIP.
“You wouldn’t have known it was Kate Middleton,” Smith, an independent distributor for a health and wellness products firm, told PEOPLE. “The shop is always quite calm anyway, and there wasn’t a great deal of people around.”
In fact, said Smith, “It was only when I did a double-take that I realized it was her.”
Once the recognition factor kicked in, Smith was very impressed: “She was absolutely beautiful. She has a very magnetic energy about her. She looked absolutely stunning.”
Besides, said the shopper, “It was nice to see her doing ordinary stuff!”
As for her birthday, it doesn’t look as if Kate will be able to spend much of it with William, given that he is commuting 60 miles north to Cambridge from their home for the day. (As royal insiders point out, it’s a bit early in the term for him to start cutting classes.)
Still, if his first day back to school was any indication, the two should be together again by evening.
[From People]
Of course there are no photos. I?ve actually heard (and someone confirm this if it?s true) that the UK papers are banned from publishing even Twitter and Instagram photos of Kate and William when they?re out and about. Like, no newspaper can publish the photos that commoners publish on their social media accounts. Because it?s high treason, apparently, to see the future queen elbow-deep in the discount rack?
Anyway, chica loves to shop. And why not? Charles is paying her bills and William would rather spend her 32nd birthday (today!) with nubile coeds. I’m not even joking – it’s being widely reported that William is staying at Cambridge today while Kate celebrates her birthday “privately” with her mom at Kensington Palace. So…shop away, duchess. Shop away. And happy birthday, chica.

Doing her duty as a member of the Royal Family, Kate Middleton attended a very special event in London?s Canary Wharf on Wednesday (November 20).
The Duchess of Cambridge smiled for the press as she arrived at the Place2B?s Resilience and Emotional Strength in Schools Forum, designed to help children build a positive self-image.
Meanwhile, Kate?s understated-yet-feminine vibe has inspired famed FOX Sports reporter Erin Andrews to follow suit.
Andrews explained that when she gets dressed she goes for a ?preppy? very Kate Middleton look. Men are watching me. I have to be careful that it's not too provocative, not too sexy, but also something a typical sports fan can relate to. If it's too high fashion, my demographic won't get that."

They?re always up to something exciting, and this morning (November 19) Prince William and Kate Middleton showed up at the London offices of the UK charity Only Connect.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge snagged a sitter for Prince George before meeting with representatives of crime prevention charities who work with young offenders.
Kate wore a walnut brown Orla Keily print dress that she previously donned during her appearance at The Art Room in Oxford back in 2012.
At the time, Keily noted that having Middleton model her wares was a huge blessing to her bottom line. "When Kate wears one of your designs you get a boost. The phone was ringing off the hook - email went, and one of my team counted over 800 Google alerts at that time! The only thing was, it was the end of the season so we didn't have so many of the dresses in stock. But it's a nice thing to happen."

According to the organization, Action on Addiction provides abstinence-based 12-Step residential treatment and structured day treatment.
Speaking about her little Prince's christening the day before, Kate told Sky News, "He was such a good boy actually. We were very lucky, he's not always like that."

She?s always up for a fun time, and Kate Middleton attended the Sportaid athlete workshop in London, England on Friday (October 18).
The Duchess of Cambridge looked lovely as she strolled around the Copper Box in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, mingling with the players and posing for the press.
Meanwhile, though she?s a member of one of the wealthiest families in the UK, Kate reportedly prefers to shop in the bargain bin at Reiss?s outlet store.
An insider told press, "You look up and there'll be Kate and her same two friends going through the 60 per cent off rack. You have no idea she's there and security must be outside, but she comes in all the time. And she's totally different to the Prince of Thailand, who I heard shut down a restaurant and brought his own staff when he visited Bicester."

| Duchess Kate will take a helicopter to London if she goes into labor early | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Royal baby fever is upon us. Even though the initial reports of Duchess Kate?s due date have her expecting sometime next week or the week after, some royal watchers claim that she could give birth as early as this week. She could be giving birth right now! Or tomorrow! Or the Fourth of July! Princess Diana?s birthday (July 1st) has come and gone, so at least we don?t have to worry about that association. Maybe the baby wants to wait. Just like mom! Anyway, as Great Britain (and the world!) prepares for the new royal baby, we?re getting some added info/gossip:
Kate Middleton is due to give birth on July 11 — but should her baby arrive early, the palace has a plan in place, multiple sources revealed in the June 24 issue of Us Weekly.
“Catherine really wants to be near [Prince William] in the final weeks,” an insider said of the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, who’s been dividing her time between her home in Anglesey, Wales, and Nottingham Cottage in London. “It’s important to her.”
Should Middleton go into labor early, a helicopter will fly her 70 minutes away to London’s St. Mary’s Hospital. Once checked in, she hopes to give birth naturally, according to a source.
However, should she run into delivery complications, an insider says “she will have a C-section.”
The royal baby’s birth will be announced via a bulletin on an easel behind the gates of Buckingham Palace announcing, “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a child.” According to a palace aide, “There will be gun salutes, flag flying and bell pealing. It’s very exciting.”
Not as thrilling, though, as the first glimpse of the royal newborn. When the first-time parents leave the hospital, the aide promises that the 31-year-old royals “will pose with the baby for pictures.”
After a brief separation — William will resume his Royal Air Force duties in Wales following a two-week paternity leave, while Middleton and their baby will shuttle between London and her parents’ place in Berkshire — the brood will move to Kensington Palace’s Apartment 1A in September, where a fully decorated nursery awaits.
[From Us Weekly]
I?m not throwing any shade on Kate for having a contingency plan in case she needs a C-section. She?s a small, narrow-hipped woman, and that baby isn?t going to come sliding out, you know? If a C-section happens, it happens. But I will throw shade on this: ?Catherine really wants to be near [Prince William] in the final weeks. It’s important to her.? So important that she?s been staying off-and-on with her parents for months now. So important that she took a helicopter ride to London for a hair appointment a few days ago. Incidentally, the weirdness of Kate taking a helicopter ride to London for a hair appointment is being overshadowed by the fact that Kate didn?t go to the same hair guy, Richard Ward, that she?s been seeing for years. Like, is that the real drama? That she?s changing hair stylists?! She must want the baby to see her for the first time with sausage curls. That should become the meme, y?all. Somebody Photoshop Kate?s sausage curls onto a random baby.
Us Weekly also reports that the paparazzi have already begun to camp out outside of St. Mary?s Hospital in London, which is where Kate will give birth. Us Weekly also says that ?a bay of parking spaces outside the hospital has been closed off with signs saying it’s reserved for an ?event? spanning July 1 to July 31.? Yeah. I think it?s happening sooner rather than later.

As her due date quickly approaches, rumors of Kate Middleton's birthing plan are swirling, and new reports suggesting that she plans to have a hypno-birth.
According to a report, the Duchess of Cambridge is exploring hypnotherapy as a way to have a natural birth, focusing on the idea that anxiety and fear are what make labor last longer and be more painful.
As for the venue, the 31-year-old royal may take advantage of the birthing pool at St. Mary Hospital in Paddington, London, where her husband, Prince William, was born.
When asked about Will and Kate's plans, a spokeswoman for the royal family said, "We appreciate it's a happy occasion, but there are some matters which should remain private to the duchess."

When you?re the first born of Prince William and Kate Middleton, you?re bound to have a charmed life, and the soon-to-be-born baby already has a lullaby waiting.
Composer Paul Mealor wrote ?Sleep On? for the Royal infant after having penned the wedding music for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?s nuptials.
Mealor explained, "After writing music for the Royal Wedding it seemed natural to provide the musical accompaniment for the next stage of the royal couple's journey together."
And classical singer Hayley Westenra recorded the track on her new album- "Paul and I got together to work on a song called Sleep On in honor of William and Kate's new arrival as it's such a joyous occasion which we can all celebrate."
