All set to draw an end to what's been a lengthy stay in Malta, Angelina Jolie was spotted en route to the airport in Luga on Saturday (July 9).
The "Kung Fu Panda 2" actress had quite the smile on her face as she joined partner Brad Pitt and their brood of six kiddies to catch a private plane at the Malta International Airport.
The outbound flight comes after a busy past month for Pitt, who has been diligently working in the southern European locale on the Marc Forster directed zombie flick "World War Z".
During the Malta stay, Angelina tended to her motherly duties, as she was spotted out on numerous occasions taking the little ones to places such as Eden Superbowl and the Malta Marine Park.

Taking care of her parental responsibilities, Angelina Jolie was spotted leaving Eden Superbowl in St. Julians, Malta today (July 6).
The ?Girl Interrupted? actress was joined by her twins Vivienne and Knox and her daughter Shiloh as she made her exit to find shutterbugs eagerly waiting.
In tabloid news, there?s a new claim that Ang is planning on stealing Jennifer Aniston's new man Justin Theroux by offering him a role in her new film.
A source snitched, ?[She] is actively trying to set up a project on which she and Justin would work together. She has been a fan of his for a few years, but she certainly wasn?t in such a hurry to work with him before Jen started dating him. Her timing is suspicious??
And apparently Jen isn?t keen on the idea. ?The mere thought of Justin working with Angelina sends her into a tizzy; if it actually happened, it could destroy her. Stealing one man from Jen was bad enough, but stealing two would be the coup de grace.?

Below is the first video/commercial for Angelina Jolie?s Louis Vuitton ad campaign. It?s not really about buying luxury leather goods, though. It seems more like a travel ad for Cambodia. Which is to say? after watching this, I felt like ?Damn, I should travel more? rather than ?Damn, I should buy a Louis Vuitton handbag.? As we talked about when we saw the first print ad from the campaign, LV and Angelina are working on something called the ?Core Values? campaign, which is basically like ?Louis Vuitton applauds people who aren?t JUST pretty, but have something to offer the world.? People like Bono and Mikhail Gorbachev also do ?Core Values? ads.
It?s nice. Angelina looks very pretty, and the shots are about her lovely face rather than her odd feet. The script is ?In 2000, Angelina Jolie made her first trip to Cambodia? It was a journey that would change her life forever.? Because it was in Cambodia that Angelina decided to become a UNHCR goodwill ambassador, and adopt her son Maddox, and buy a huge tract of land and turn it into a nature preserve, and build a hospital, etc.
Screencaps from the video, plus Jolie?s LV print ad.

| Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie's 'secret' Autumn Equinox wedding sounds nice | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The In Touch Weekly team decided to avoid writing a cover story about their pity party mascot for the past six years, Jennifer Aniston, and went with a Brangelina story this week. Sidenote: Us Weekly is the ONLY tabloid running with a ?Aniston is a homewrecker? cover story this week - how is this possible?!? Anyway, ITW?s cover story is all about how Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are finally going to get married this year. This September, to be exact. Of course this is all a figment of some editor?s imagination, but I think the wedding plans sound nice, and thinking about Empress Zahara as a flower girl is a great ?happy place.?
Brad and Angie decide after years of saying they would never tie the knot to take the plunge, and it?s all for their kids!
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have always been open about the fact that they do not feel the need to get married to prove their love ? but that is all changing! InTouch reports, ?the couple will wed in September, once all the renovations on their sprawling French estate, Chateau Mirval, are done.? What a huge change of heart!
A source tells the magazine, ?They want to hold it at the chapel at Miraval, and they?re already making up the list of people to invite. Out of all of their homes, it?s the perfect place for their family and closest friends to come together for a celebration.?
The children will all be involved of course, with Shiloh, Zahara and Vivienne walking down the aisle as flower girls and Zahara particularly excited about helping her mother select a dress! The kids have already started making artwork and decorations to paste in the chapel. Brad’s brother will be best man, Angie’s assistant Holly will be maid of honor, and Angie’s brother James Haven will help conduct the ceremony. And Angelina’s dad will walk her down the aisle, even though they have a contentious relationship.
The dress will be designed by L’Wren Scott. As for the rings, they are being designed with a special message by designer Robert Procop.
On the guest list: Johnny Depp, the Gwen Stefanis, Guy Richie, Bono, Paul Allen. Etc. Brad and Angelina have chosen September 23 as the wedding date because that is the autumnal equinox. A source says: “They both feel that the equinox holds special meaning because it is the day that the Earth is most balanced ? the night is as long as the day and the sun’s center is on the same plane as the Earth.”
The mag adds: “Will getting married on the equinox ring in a new age of balance and calm for Brad and Angelina? One can only hope.”
[From Hollywood Life & Jezebel]
Paul Allen? Johnny Depp? I doubt it. Now, if the guest list included Matt Damon and Marianne Pearl, sure, THAT would be believable. Oh, and now I can?t get the idea of a L?Wren Scott wedding dress out of my head. I love almost everything L?Wren does - she cuts a beautiful, flattering dress, consistently. Angelina could do a lot worse than L?Wren as her wedding dress designer.
By the way, little Pax (?the forgotten Jolie-Pitt?) got to visit his dad on the World War Z set in Malta yesterday. Here are those cute photos, plus some of Brad pouring Angelina into the car after the bitch got hammered.

| Angelina Jolie makes more UNHCR stops in Malta & Italy | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Angelina Jolie was on the Turkish-Syrian border on Friday, and then on Saturday, she went to Malta where she met with refugees in crisis, and then on Sunday, she appeared in Lampedusa Island, Italy. In Malta, from what I can see, there?s an old-school refugee detention center where refugees - mostly women and children, it seems - fleeing for their lives are kept in a prison-like atmosphere until they can be processed. Jolie actually went into the detention center and spoke with many of the refugees kept there. You can see the UNHCR video here - at one point, Angelina had to have a conversation with several women literally through bars. At another point, she was able to have a sit-down conversation with a group of Somali women. Then, while in Italy on Sunday, Jolie did an outdoor event (involving speeches and the laying of a wreath for those thousands of refugees who have died in transit from Africa) with the high commissioner of the United Nations High Commission on Refugees, Antnio Guterres (he?s the tall dude in the sash). You can read the UNHCR press release about her visit here, and here are some highlights:
LAMPEDUSA ISLAND, Italy, June 19 (UNHCR) ? Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie and UNHCR chief Antnio Guterres met boat people, including unaccompanied minors, on a tiny Italian island on Sunday and remembered those who have lost their lives trying to reach Lampedusa by sea from Africa. Jolie and Guterres visited the Porta d’Europa ? a stone gateway on a headland next to the sea where hundreds of boats have arrived with migrants from North Africa, including refugees and asylum-seekers. More than 40,000 people have risked the Mediterranean crossing on overcrowded boats and reached Lampedusa so far this year. A further 1,500 have died in the attempt.
Guterres appealed on European countries to accept the people coming from Africa, especially those fleeing violence in Libya. “When we have so many conflicts at the gates of Europe, the most important thing a country can do is keep their borders open,” he stressed, while mentioning Italy by name. The High Commissioner noted that about 18,000 people, including refugees, had reached Lampedusa by boat to date from Libya, while adding that this represented only 2 per cent of the people who had left Libya since conflict erupted there in February.
Jolie, who earlier in the day meet asylum-seekers at two locations in Malta, said she was moved to be at the Porta d’Europa. “It was very moving to stand with the mayor, the priest and the people of Lampedusa at this place, to take a moment of silence while a wreath was laid on a submerged boat on which three people had lost their lives. When I think of these people, these families, I try to imagine what would bring someone ? for example a mother with children ? to make this journey. What kind of a life she must have lived, what she must have suffered, to be brought to a point where her last resort is to step onto an overcrowded rickety boat. What must her life be like that the best alternative is to risk drowning and suffocation . . . only to be brought to a new country where she may be turned away. Sent back to sea,” she said, adding: “Very few of us here today can even begin to understand what kind of painful existence she must have led.”
The award-winning actress and Guterres also both thanked the Italian coastguard for saving many people who were on sinking boats. Jolie had earlier Friday in Valletta praised coastguards in Malta for having “saved thousands of lives over the years” and urged that they receive support from the international community to handle the inflow of migrants by sea.
Before joining High Commissioner Guterres in Lampedusa, Jolie had visited Malta, which has also been a destination for people fleeing North Africa by boat. She visited Lyster Barracks, a former Royal Air Force facility and now a detention centre for asylum-seekers, many of whom have fled the violence in Libya. They include Somalis, Ethiopians and others from sub-Saharan Africa.
“Malta has saved many lives, but it is the daily conditions on the ground that are of most concern,” Jolie said in Malta on Sunday morning. “We’ve spent time today speaking with the government and will spend more time talking about how, together, we can make the conditions more humane, especially for the children. We’ve spoken about our shared concerns about making sure asylum claims are processed as quickly as possible so no-one is sitting in a prison-like situation and waiting on a decision about their status.?
Many of the people Jolie met in the barracks told her that they had been working in Libya to make money to remit to their families back home. One man referred to Libya as the heart of Africa, where they were able to work. “Now it is on fire and Africa is crying,” he said.
The people said they had never attempted to come to Europe before, they just wanted a place where they were safe and could work. “They are not asking to go to any particular country, they just want to find safety to work, and to have freedom,” Jolie stressed.
The Goodwill Ambassador also visited an open centre near Malta’s main airport where vulnerable asylum-seekers are living in tents inside an old aircraft hangar while their asylum claims are assessed. The people she met there said living conditions were difficult.
[From the UNHCR Press Release]
bviously, I buy that Angelina?s heart is in it, but I?ve always bought that. For those who claim she?s doing it for attention: to get attention, all Angelina has to do is walk outside of her house. She?s spent a decade traveling to some of the worst, most hopeless, most desperate places on earth - at some point, I think the overwhelming majority of people have to acknowledge that she simple dedicated to helping refugees.

On a mission to help those in the most dire need of assistance, Angelina Jolie paid a surprise visit to the Italian island of Lampedusa on Sunday (June 19).
Acting under her UNHCR goodwill ambassador role, the 36-year-old actress joined United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres on the trek from Malta to the Mediterranean locale for a ceremony paying tribute to all of those who passed away at sea aboard overstocked vessels while trying to escape violence overtaking North Africa.
Prior to visiting Lampedusa, Jolie and Guterres made stops at Malta detention facilities holding refugees who made the journey successfully - with the persons being in custody while awaiting asylum.
Of the situation, Angelina said, "We've spoken about our shared concerns about making sure asylum claims are processed as quickly as possible so no one is sitting in a prison-like situation and waiting on a decision about their status."
She added, "They are not asking to go to any particular country, they just want to find safety to work and to have freedom."

| Angelina Jolie, 'Goodness Angel of the World?, makes UNHCR trip to Turkey | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Angelina Jolie is in Turkey today on UNHCR business. She?s on the Turkey-Syria border, where she?s meeting with some of the thousands of Syrian refugees now living in refugee camps within Turkey. The refugee exodus from Syria has increased over the past months as the Syrian government cracks down on anti-government protests. According to the AP, Jolie is due at a camp in the Turkish province of Hatay, and Turkish authorities were hanging a banner to welcome her. The banner reads - no joke, I swear - “Goodness Angel of the World, Welcome.” Seriously. Here?s more:
Actress Angelina Jolie, a longtime goodwill ambassador for the U.N. refugee agency, arrived in southern Turkey on Friday to visit Syrian refugees, a high-profile trip focusing attention on misery faced by ordinary citizens who have escaped violence in turbulent Syria.
Jolie, who is scheduled to visit the Altinozu refugee camp, arrived at the airport in Hatay and was greeted by officials, according to the state-run Anatolian Agency.
Hatay provincial officials had vans for the trip to Altinozu, and “toys unloaded from the plane were loaded to one of the vans in her convoy,” the agency reported.
More than 9,600 Syrian men, women, and children have fled their country for Turkey to escape violence, including a military offensive in the Jisr al-Shugur area.
Refugees at Altinozu are housed in warehouses at an old tobacco factory, and they staged a demonstration at the camp in solidarity with the many anti-government demonstrations occurring across the border in Syria.
They held up signs that said “Our military is killing its own people, please make it stop,” “U.N., help us please” and people chanted “stop killing children” and other anti-regime slogans.
[From CNN]
Angelina likely scheduled this trip to draw extra attention because of World Refugee Day, which is Monday. I?m still hoping she gives a major interview for the occasion, and I saw on CNN this morning that they have a reporter on the trip too, so maybe CNN will get the interview. Here are some raw videos (from Turkish television) of Jolie?s arrival in-country:

Enjoying some much-deserved downtime, Angelina Jolie was spotted out with her kids in Malta earlier today (June 15).
The ?Changeling? chick looked cute and casual as she brought her brood to an indoor play park, attracting the attention of the local paparazzi.
Later this week, Angelina will be headed to Turkey to visit Syrian refugees as well as the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Jolie will arrive in Istanbul on Friday and make her way to Hatay where more than 8,000 Syrians have fled to escape violence.

I?m a bad Brangeloonie, because I completely forgot that World Refugee Day was coming up. It?s June 20th, every year. And every year since she became a goodwill ambassador for the UNHCR (the United Nations High Commission on Refugees) in 2001, Angelina Jolie has done some sort of activity or event to note World Refugee Day. The past few years, she?s been filming PSAs (in addition to doing press and attending events) - you can see 2009?s Jolie PSA here. And if you go here, you can see her 2010 PSA for Pakistani Relief. Anyway, here?s her 2011 World Refugee Day PSA:
Not bad. CB usually refuses to watch them because they make her cry, but I convinced her that she needed to see Angelina?s styling for this one, which is much improved. Some of these PSAs, it?s like Jolie is being recorded in someone?s dank basement. They actually prettied her up for this one.
As for the content? ?Every day, thousands of people run from war, persecution and terror? Even one is too many. One family forced to flee is too many, one child growing up in a camp is too many, one refugee without hope is too many.” It?s noble, and the repetition of ?one? is because this is for a new UNHCR initiative for the One campaign.

She?s always up to something, and Angelina Jolie is the face of Louis Vuitton?s ?Core Values? campaign.
The ?Mr. and Mrs. Smith? babe posed on a wooden boat in Cambodia?s Siem Reap province for the photo session.
According to a report from WWD, Ang brought four of her kids along with her for the gig, and they had to be told to clear out of the shot more than once.
Jolie?s photos were taken by famed lenswoman Annie Leibovitz. Angelina will also appear in a video on Vuitton?s website later this week.
