Brad Pitt flew back to England during a little break in filming in Scotland, probably so he could spend some time with Angelina and the kids (after boning his attractive assistant?). Or maybe the film production has moved back to London?? I have no idea. This is the longest Brad has worked on a movie in a while - usually his filming schedule is only a few months, with weekends off, but I feel like he?s been working on this World War Z for more than three months already. Anyway, the Family Jolie-Pitt is all together in London now, and this weekend had another big family outing - this time to check out The Smurfs!
Was it ladies day out for the Jolie-Pitts?
Shiloh, Zahara and Vivienne were glued to Angelina Jolie as they exited a showing of the Smurfs movie in London.
Jolie held onto youngest daughter Vivienne, 3, and squeezed 6-year-old Zahara’s hand, while Shiloh, 5, led the way ? blanket in hand, thumb in mouth!
They did have some male escorts though: Papa Pitt and Maddox, 10, weren’t far behind.
[From People]
I didn?t see any photos of Maddox, but I did see Pax. Maddox might be too big for The Smurfs? He?s probably getting into boy movies now, not Smurfs. Anyway, I like Zahara?s little purple outfit - she likes to coordinate and look ?pulled together?. Shiloh is kind of a mess with her silkie, and little Vivienne doesn?t look tearful, which is unusual. My favorite in these photos is little Knox, though - um, did Brad dress him? He?s giving me Little Lord Fauntleroy vibes with his knickerbockers and coordinated smoking jacket.
Before the Sunday outing for The Smurfs, though, Angelina had to entertain the kids while dad was away ?working? (on his assistant). Us Weekly reports that Angelina did what many mothers do - spend the day exhausting the hell out of her kids so they?ll go to bed early.
Party ’til you pass out! As Brad Pitt continued shooting World War Z at Longcross Studios outside London, his love Angelina Jolie found just the thing to keep their six kids happy, entertained…and tuckered out!
On Saturday, Jolie, 36, dazzled her brood — Maddox, 10, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3 — with something special in the garden of their rented home in London’s Richmond neighborhood.
“All of the kids were in the garden to play and she surprised them with a local group of children’s entertainers,” a source tells Us Weekly of the sunny day. “Think juggling, game organizing, races, that type of thing.”
Jolie’s treat was just the trick for Shiloh and the gang, the source adds. “The kids laughed and screamed all day. They were exhausted by the time the troupe left!”
Sounds like Jolie has made peace with her man Pitt’s epic shoot in the UK for the zombie flick — which had her contemplating making a break for it to the U.S. last month.
“She’s not pleased being at home while he’s on set,” another source told Us earlier this summer. “These are the longest hours he’s spent on a set in a while, so it’s just her and the kids with not much to do.”
[From Us Weekly]
Yep. Sounds nice. Mommy probably downed a fistful of Advil and made it through the day, just so she could have a peaceful evening.
There?s also a rumor going around that Angelina plans on enrolling the kids in a school in London, just because Brad?s film shoot is going on forever. A source told The Sun, ?The children are home tutored in the United States, but wherever possible Brad and Angelina like to have them attend local schools to introduce them to the culture of each country.? Meh. I doubt it will happen.

Turning into a family routine, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their brood out for a cinema weekend excursion in London on Sunday (September 4).
The "Mr and Mrs Smith" co-star couple had the entire clan alongside for the theater visit, as Pax, Shiloh, Vivienne, Knox, Maddox and Zahara shuffled out to the family ride after catching a showing of "The Smurfs".
The family movie outing comes after Us magazine reports that Angelina treated her little ones to a garden party at their rented abode in Richmond the previous day.
An inside dished of the festivities, "All of the kids were in the garden to play and she surprised them with a local group of children's entertainers."
Explaining further, the Us source told, "Think juggling, game organising, races, that type of thing. The kids laughed and screamed all day. They were exhausted by the time the troupe left!"

Yesterday, Angelina went out for yet another girls? day with Shiloh and Zahara. Those two Jolie-Pitt kids get a lot of mom time, don?t they? Anyway, Shi, Z and Angelina went shopping at French Connection. The Mail has a detailed story on all of the stuff Angelina bought for herself and for the girls - all total, Angelina spent more than $2000… In just 15 minutes. Is that scandalous? You can spend $2000 in less than five minutes on just two pairs of shoes. If you?d like to see photos of some of Angelina?s purchases, go here. Basically, she bought a few sacks for herself. No joke.
She has the world’s designers at her fingertips, and frequently wears couture gowns costing tens of thousands of pounds. But when Angelina Jolie wants to update her autumn/winter wardrobe, where does she head? To the good old British high street, of course.
Back in London after short trips to Glasgow and The Netherlands, Angelina spent the afternoon shopping on west London’s King’s Road, where she paid a visit to the French Connection store.
Accompanied by a bodyguard and personal assistant and with daughters Zahara, six, and five-year-old Shiloh in tow, Angelina browsed the racks for a quarter of an hour, picking up a number of pieces from the new season collection as well as bags full of children’s clothes totalling 1,300.
An excited customer reported that Angelina, dressed in cropped black trousers, black cardigan and oversized sunglasses made short work of flipping through the rails.
In record quick time Angelina picked out a mustard camisole, white three-quarter sleeve top and a black midi skirt from French Connection’s Classics collection, as well as two pendant necklaces and dozens of pieces for the children.
Zahara was keen on lots of the pieces in the store, but eventually settled on a fur jacket.
‘She was really friendly and humble,’ the customer said of the Hollywood star. ‘She signed an autograph for some young girls in the shop, and wouldn’t let any of the staff help her to the car with her bags, joking that she “had people to do that” for her.’
‘She seemed happy to talk to people and sign autographs for them. I was in the store at the same time and couldn’t believe it when I saw she’d managed to spend 1,300 in such a short time. Still, she earns such a lot of money, so why not?’
[From The Mail]
Seriously, if I had her money, I could easily blow $50,000 in 15 minutes. Just let me loose in a pricey handbag store. But mommy-daughter shopping sprees are nice. You know PETA is going to take issue with Empress Z?s fur coat though. Maybe it was faux fur?
Meanwhile, The Sun has a funny story about a recent shopping spree of Brad Pitt?s - according to their sources, Brad ?secretly? purchased a Shetland pony for each of his kids, and the ponies are now at the Chateau Miraval.
MOST kids get a My Little Pony toy to play with - but Brad Pitt’s brood get the real thing. The actor surprised his family with SIX Shetland ponies - one for each nipper - and a horse for partner Angelina Jolie. He bought them in secret and they’re now grazing in a paddock on the couple’s Chateau Miraval estate in the south of France.
Brad and Angelina can already ride but they want to be able to take children Vivienne, Knox, Shiloh, Zahara, Pax and Maddox pony-trekking. A source said: “Brad ummed and ahhed about it for a while but decided to go for it. He wasn’t sure whether they’d find the time as training the children will take a lot of manhours but thinks it will be worth it in the long run. He thinks it’s best for them to learn how to ride while they’re young.”
It’s not like they haven’t got the space - their French gaff sits on acres of land.
At least Brad has a waterpark in mind - he’s also had a posh new pool installed.
The source added: “Their place is huge. They have loads of fields all around the property. Their driveway is three miles long and lined with impressive fountains. They’ve got a new pool with slides as well now.”
The star family have a lot of outdoor fun to look forward to once Brad finishes shooting his new movie World War Z. He still has scenes to film in Scotland, Essex and Surrey yet, so it could quite easily be winter by the time they get back to France.
[From The Sun]
Wow, ponies and a new pool? Brad is the best dad ever! I can?t see Maddox on a pony, though. But I could totally see Shiloh and Empress Z on ponies. You know that?s where it started too - Shi and Z were all, ?Daddy, seriously. PONY.?

Enjoying a mommy-and-daughters day out, Angelina Jolie and her two cute little ones Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Jolie-Pitt were spotting shopping in London, England this afternoon (September 1).
On the hunt for some fashionable finds, the trendy trio took to La Stupenderia Milano clothing shop, before leaving the store hand-in-hand.
Meanwhile, Angie's partner Brad recently surprised their brood of six with a half dozen Shetland ponies so they can go riding as a family, according to The Sun.
Now that the children got their big reveal, Pitt has decided to keep the animal's on their Chateau Miraval estate in the south of France, where they are sure to have enough room to roam.

She always makes time to spend with her brood, and Angelina Jolie was spotted at the Pottery Caf in Richmond, London on Wednesday (August 31).
With the help of a couple nannies, the ?Salt? actress and her children made their big exit from the craft shop before hopping into their chauffeured vehicle while the paparazzi looked on.
Meanwhile, it?s no secret that Jolie has taken a liking to her new career as film writer and director - and in the October issue of Vanity Fair, the 36-year-old opened up about (among other things) her partner Brad Pitt?s take on her new gig.
She jokingly told the mag, ?Brad thinks I'm going to be a nightmare. I had such a good experience he thinks I'm going to be impatient with directors, which I already am. I get impatient with people working on a film that have their head in their hands like it's the most complicated thing in the world."

Angelina Jolie sat down with Vanity Fair to discuss her directorial and screenwriting debut “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” the tale of a Bosnian refugee who falls in love with her captor. Us Magazine says:
The star feverishly wrote the script for the Bosnian War romance while feeling under the weather.
“I had the flu. I had to be quarantined from the children for two days. I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don’t watch TV and I wasn’t reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn’t know any other way.”
She got the thumbs up on her screenplay from [partner Brad] Pitt himself. “He called and said, ‘You know, honey, it’s not that bad.’”
And her man remained “so supportive” throughout the project, she gushes. “He’d come in and say what he liked or what he didn’t understand. Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things…It’s hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don’t think he’s a fair judge.”
You know, as a writer, I did some of my best work when I had the flu last year, too. Once I downed a couple of bottles of Robotussin, I started seeing all kinds of crazy shit. My brain just exploded with creativity. Well, technically, the doctor said it was more of an “aneurysm,” and that everything I had written appeared to be in Sanskrit, but still. I think we can all agree it was still way more interesting than any of the shit I wrote today.

Would you like a giant closeup of Angelina Jolie?s head? Why not?!? Jolie covers the October issue of Vanity Fair, and I?ll admit to squealing a little when I saw that she had gotten a VF cover again. I believe this is her fourth Vanity Fair cover in six years. She deserves it, although historically, I find her interviews with the magazine a little hit-or-miss. I usually enjoy her Vogue interviews a lot more. Anyway, Angelina did the cover because she?s promoting her feature film directorial debut with In the Land of Blood and Honey. The photos were done by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. VF has already released some highlights from the piece:
Despite recent reports, Angelina Jolie assures Vanity Fair contributing editor Rich Cohen that there is ?no secret wedding? in the works for her and Pitt. ?I?m not pregnant. I?m not adopting at the moment,? the star tells Cohen.
?Brad thinks I?m going to be a nightmare,? Jolie jokes, telling how directing her new movie, In the Land of Blood and Honey, has changed the way she will approach her acting career. ?I had such a good experience he thinks I?m going to be impatient with directors, which I already am. I get impatient with people working on a film that have their head in their hands like it?s the most complicated thing in the world.?
?I?ve never felt more exposed. My whole career, I?ve hidden behind other people?s words,? Jolie tells Cohen of her screenwriting and feature directorial debut. ?Now it?s me talking. You feel ridiculous when you get something wrong.?
?I had the flu,? Jolie says of how she came to write the script. ?I had to be quarantined from the children for two days. I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don?t watch TV and I wasn?t reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn?t know any other way.? She says she then let Brad take the script to read on a trip: ?He called and said, ?You know, honey, it?s not that bad.??
Jolie admits she did not initially intend to direct the film. ?It was something I didn?t trust out of my hands,? she explains. ?So by default I ended up putting myself in as director.?
Of her decision to use all unknown actors from the region, she says, ?It couldn?t be anybody else. It?s their story. It was important that they were willing to do it. If none of them were willing, I wouldn?t have made it.?
Jolie does elaborate on Brad?s supportive role throughout the project. ?He?d come in and say what he liked or what he didn?t understand. Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things. He?s been so supportive. But it?s hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don?t think he?s a fair judge.? But she goes on to say that ?people will judge for themselves. I think if you make a good movie people walk away arguing.?
Before shooting, Jolie says, she sent the script to ?reporters and writers, people of Serbian and Bosnian nationality who?d been through the war. I was gauging the accuracy?. If they said no, I wouldn?t have done it.?
[From Vanity Fair]
As I?ve said before, I?m worried about this movie. A lot. I don?t know how ?You know, honey, it?s not that bad? becomes ?Let?s give Angelina $15 million to direct her own script.? Now, I?m glad that Angelina is challenging herself as an artist, and I think it?s cool that she wrote a script and followed through and all of that. I will also defend Angelina against the accusations that the storyline she wrote is somehow offensive to women in general or Bosnian women specifically. My concerns about the film are more superficial than that - I just wonder if the film is going to be any good. Like, will it be watchable? Or will it just be a movie star?s ego up there on the screen?

| Angelina Jolie makes a visit to HALO Trust in Scotland to talk about landmines | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

When Angelina Jolie visited Croatia a few days ago, she took a meeting with the president of the country, allegedly at his request. The president wanted to ask for Angelina?s help with their on-going landmine problem. Angelina has some history with the cause of landmine removal - in her extensive Cambodian property, Angelina has had to spend the money to have hundreds of acres de-mined (and the property is part of a nature preserve now). Also, Angelina met with de-mining groups years ago, in Angola, as part of her UNHCR work. Anyway, after her visit to Croatia, Angelina went back to Scotland (where she and her family are staying for Brad?s film schedule), and she went to the headquarters of HALO Trust, one of the leading anti-landmine and de-mining non-profits around.
Angelina Jolie and her family visited HALO?s global headquarters in Scotland this weekend.
She and Brad Pitt have been long-term supporters of HALO, and visited our projects in a number of mine-impacted countries. Their financial support to HALO has run to many hundreds of thousands of pounds, funding humanitarian mineclearance teams in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Kosovo and Afghanistan. This was her first visit to the HQ, and was a chance for a global briefing by senior HALO staff on the current landmine problem.
Guy Willoughby, co-founder and Director of the Trust, said:
It was a great opportunity for us to talk through the projects and also plan our demining priorities for the future ? identifying which communities in different countries are most in need of our support.
Angelina Jolie said:
It was a privilege to visit the HALO headquarters and meet their committed staff. In the aftermath of war, HALO?s mineclearing efforts are fundamental to a safe return and community building.
[From HALO Trust?s press release]
If the organization sounds familiar, it?s because Princess Diana did a lot of work with HALO in the last year of her life, and Prince Harry has followed in his mother’s footsteps. There?s also a claim that Brad and Angelina has donated ?hundreds of thousands of pounds? to HALO through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

These are photos of Angelina Jolie in Croatia, where she stayed for about 48 hours on a whirlwind trip in which she met with Croatia?s president and took in a production of King Lear. Angelina brought her two oldest sons, Pax and Maddox, and there are even some blurry, low-quality pics of Angelina and Madd (below, at the end of the post). She went to the King Lear production at the invitation of actor Rade Serbedzija, the white-haired gentleman in these photos. He?s also been in about a million films, and one of the latest projects is In the Land of Blood and Honey, Angelina?s feature directorial debut (she previously directed a documentary, A Place In Time).
According to a reader of this site, Jolie ?managed to say that she liked? the King Lear production, which featured ?mostly pretty bad actors? (this is according to the Celebitchy reader!). Google Translator claims Angelina said, ?This was an incredible experience. Brilliant performances that celebrate the remarkable way the theater. Otherwise I’m a big fan of Rade Serbedzija, I enjoyed working with him. I have no words for his work, and I hope to be with him one day and play with him.? I sure he would enjoy that very much! She also took a meeting with the president about land mines, apparently at HIS request. Pres. Ivo Josipovic asked Jolie to help with Croatia?s landmine problem:
Angelina Jolie met with the president of Croatia on Friday (19Aug11) to discuss how to tackle land mines in the country.
The actress, who is in Europe while her partner Brad Pitt films his new movie World War Z in various locations around the U.K., flew into Croatia as a guest of her friend and fellow actor Rade Serbedzija.
But Jolie, who serves as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, turned the trip into a charity mission as she used the opportunity to meet with President Ivo Josipovic.
The pair discussed the nation’s ongoing problem with land mines, which have remained since the country’s war of independence in the 1990s.
[From Contact Music]
After that meeting, Angelina and the boys went to the island of Brijuni and had some beach time - or not? I don?t know, I think I might be getting the timeline of event wrong. But the gist is the same - King Lear, meeting with the president, beach time.

Flying in from her temporary home in Scotland, Angelina Jolie made her way to the Adriatic island of Brijuni, Croatia for a very important meeting on Friday night (August 19).
Wearing a chic black dress, the "Tourist" actress joined up with Croatia's President Ivo Josipovic and actor Rade Serbedzija as they trio were surrounded by media members while walking around the Central European locale.
During the course of her visit, Miss Jolie also attended a theatre play while chatting with President Josipovic about land mines problems that still remain from the country's 1991-1995 war era.
The Croatian visit comes as Angelina has been alongside her six children while staying in London and Glasgow while Brad Pitt films his new movie "World War Z".
