Brad Pitt got to celebrate his 48th birthday with his family this weekend, in Las Vegas. That?s a thing for him, isn?t it? I feel like Brad and Angelina go to Vegas for his birthday often. One year, wasn?t it a boxing match? Anyway, for this year?s festivities, Brad didn?t get a date night with his girl, he got family-friendly entertainment by way of the Cirque Du Soleil. Yes, Brad, Angelina and the kids all went to see Michael Jackson The Immortal. We don?t have the blurry photos of the Jolie-Pitts in Vegas – you can see them here.
Brad Pitt?s birthday weekend was quite a “thriller”!
The Moneyball star, who turns 48 on Sunday, was joined by longtime love Angelina Jolie and their six children in Las Vegas Saturday night to experience the Michael Jackson The Immortal, the Cirque Du Soleil touring show.
“They had great seats, sitting right beside the stage,” a source said. “They really seemed to enjoy the show. The performers didn’t know they were there and a few of them recognized them while they were on stage, so it was pretty exciting.”
After giving a standing ovation, Pitt, donning round glasses, Jolie, wearing a light grey dress, and the children left just as the cast gave final bows. The family spent the night at the lavish Four Seasons.

What?s with Brad the glasses? I?ve seen him in reading glasses before, but it seems like in the past month or so, Brad has been wearing proper glasses full-time. Now, I like a man in glasses, but Brad makes it seem like he?s the ?dorky-hot guy in high school that you don?t realize is going to be good-looking and then he takes off his glasses.? Or is that just with chicks? Whatever. Us Weekly?s source (inside the Cirque Du Soleil?) said that the ?artists were pleasantly surprised by this unannounced visit.”
Anyway, happy 48th birthday to Brad – his official birthday was yesterday, and throughout last week, Brad received some early birthday presents in the form of major Best Actor nominations for Moneyball. He?s been nominated for a Golden Globe, a SAG, a Critics Choice, and I feel comfortable saying that he?s one the shoo-ins for an Oscar nomination. I?m very happy that this awards season will be full of Brangelina.

As we previewed yesterday, Angelina Jolie will appear in a pre-taped interview with Anderson Cooper for his talk show on Monday. In the coverage I did yesterday, Angelina was talking about her family?s nomadic lifestyle, and how she hates to ?settle? and the whole thing inspired a very interesting conversation about Brangelina and how they?re raising the kids. As you know, I like Jolie. But I think this is one of her flaws – she acts as if she would be so disappointed in her children if one of them actually wanted to stay in one place for a year and put down some roots. Anyway, AC?s people sent us a lengthy transcript of Jolie and Cooper?s conversation, and here are some of the highlights:
Jolie on her Thanksgiving: ?It was good, we actually Brad and I decided we were actually going to make the turkey and we were very successful and very proud of ourselves. We did it! I’ve tried on and off but this was just the two of us with the kids watching trying to pretend we knew exactly what we were doing.?
Family dinners: ?We actually have family dinner every night. We make a point of it. It’s crazy. There’s a good five minutes were everybody is quiet and sitting together and then it starts to break off into different?No, no [video gams] and no blackberries for mom and dad.?
More on always traveling: ?We do, we’re a big traveling. Now we are starting to get them where they each have their own luggage and they unpack their own clothes and pack their own because it was just getting to confusing for me to figure out but it’s great, it’s so much fun. Fortunately, my kids love to travel because I do and they’re very worldly and what I love is that they can be in New York in a hotel in Manhattan and think it’s so cool and then I can bring them to the middle of Kenya and drop them in a tent with no TV and no nothing and they’re just as happy as so I feel like that’s what we are trying to do to balance them.?
Explaining to the kids about war and refugees: ?They do, and they’ve come with me to some. You know I try not to be one of those mothers that says, ‘Some people around the world don’t have,’ I try not to do that, but I try by example to bring them to places and hopefully they’ll make friends with people in different countries, coming from different backgrounds, dealing with different situations and they’ll understand that actually is what the world looks like, not this small world of just the place we live in our house. This is not reality, reality is all of these things. So they know and they are very good about you know, ‘Mommy has to go, mommy’s going to try to do some good and this thing is going on. So, I’ll be right back.’ They seem to be very generous about it and understanding that they’re kids and they want their mom but they also know that there are other kids that mom can try to help.?
Angelina on reading the reviews of ?Blood & Honey?: ?Well I have to read some things on this because I need to understand how people are receiving it if there is something more I need to explain in case it is being misunderstood. This is the first time I had to and it’s terrifying but I’ve avoided everything on myself.?
She doesn?t read any of the tabloids: ?Which is so funny because I’m the most boring. I’m not totally boring but we do often say that because we don’t go out clubbing, we’re not big into fashion, we do a lot of dealing with kids and stuff.?
If Brad retires at the age of 50: ?I’m happy for it. No, we were both racing to see which one of us gets to retire first. We both, like most people, we like being home. Whoever is the one whose home tends to be the happier one because we get to play with the kids and the other one is out earning the money? He was with the kids taking them to school in the morning then he’d come to the set in the afternoon and do stills photography. He was my stills photographer.

Angelina Jolie already has six kids which is more than enough hands to make a pair of sneakers with but there may be another set on the way. Speaking to Marie Claire for their January issue, Angelina opened up about the possibility of having more kids.
“Nothing planned at the moment, but we just don’t know,” the Oscar winner says. “I could end up pregnant.” Us Magazine
Funny. That’s the same thing Blake Lively said to me when I poked holes in her condoms. But she said it with much less enthusiasm.

Ahh, I had forgotten this was happening last night. *slowly turns in Brangeloonie Merit Badge* In the Land of Blood and Honey premiered in LA last night, and the event was much bigger than the NYC premiere earlier this week. Angelina and Brad did another red carpet together, and I like this one so, so much more than the New York premiere. This time it?s all about how hot Angelina looks in her navy Romona Keveza gown – it?s fitted! It?s not a sack! HUZZAH. It looks great on her too, and love when she teases up her hair. Brad doesn?t look as hot as he did in NY, and I don?t know what?s happening with the big glasses. Is he trying to look intellectual, or does he really need them? He still looks good, granted, but my eye goes to Jolie.
Many of the stars of the film were there, including the two leads, Zana Marjanovic & Goran Kostic. Quick word about Goran Kostic: he?s rather sexy, right? All in black on this red carpet? he looks sort of like Daniel Craig with a weird nose – very unconventionally sexy. He has presence, I?ll give him that. And Zana is gorgeous – I?m including photos of Goran and Zana below.
Angelina?s drinking buddy (I?m assuming) and girl friend Gwen Stefani showed up to support Angie. As did Angelina?s dad. Meh on him, but I think Gwen looks kind of cute in her onesie.
Meanwhile, Angelina covers the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter, joint with Jennifer Yuh Nelson, director of Kung Fu Panda 2. THR has excerpts of their conversation here. Angelina admits at one point: ?I’ve scored some points at home because of Kung Fu Panda. They love Tigress, who is my alternate personality. Otherwise, they think Brad and I are just so not cool.? She also talks about what she learned from Michael Winterbottom and Clint Eastwood, and how she personally financed a large chunk of ITLOBAH. You can read more here.

Once again stepping out for her directorial debut, Angelina Jolie was joined by Brad Pitt for the red carpet premiere of "In the Land of Blood and Honey" in Los Angeles on Thursday night (December 8).
With the 36-year-old actress donning a Romona Keveza dress with Jimmy Choo heels,while her man suited up in Tom Ford, the Hollywood power couple took time to pose for a few snapshots before heading inside the ArcLight Cinemas venue to mingle with guests including Angelina's dad, Jon Voight, as well as No Doubt rocker pal Gwen Stefani.
As for Miss Jolie's new film, "In the Land of Blood and Honey" reveals a love affair between a Serbian male and a Bosnian female during the 1992 Bosnian War.
Of the effort, she recently told USA Today, ?I?ve always been drawn to war films. I did love directing. If I?m allowed, if I?m accepted, I will do it again. I am still very shy about it.?
Set for a December 23rd here in the States, the movie was made in both English and Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian language.

In a show of solidarity with the third world children she visits, an Angelina Jolie source says her thin frame is due to her going on fasts “to make statements.” Being fabulously skinny is just a side-effect.
“She says, ‘If they can’t eat, I can’t eat,’” the source adds. The busy mother of six “does different cleanses from around the world. It’s very dramatic, but that’s how she gets.” Us Magazine

Also, you may not know this but Khloe has her own way to make statements on behalf of starving kids. Her mantra is, “If they can’t eat, I’ll eat for them.” She seems very motivated.

Angelina Week is going full-force! And now we even have some tabloid reports to go along with all of our new photos and interviews. Us Weekly has a bizarre (or on-target?) report about Angelina?s thinness, which? I?m kind of tired of people discussing Jolie?s thinness. She doesn?t really look any heavier or thinner since last year or the year before. She lost a lot of weight after her mom died, and then slowly come back to the figure she has now, which I think it probably close to her natural state. Would I love for Angelina to put on 20 pounds? Of course. I think she would look great with some additional weight on her bones. But to me, she doesn?t look scary-skinny like too many of the girls who bulimia their way to slender figures.
Unlike some of her peers, Angelina Jolie’s pin thin frame has nothing to do with vanity.
The U.N. goodwill ambassador, 36, who travels the globe meeting the poor, “puts herself on fasts to make statements for the children she visits,” a Jolie source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands Friday).
“She says, ‘If they can’t eat, I can’t eat,’” the source adds. The busy mother of six “does different cleanses from around the world. It’s very dramatic, but that’s how she gets.”
If she does eat a burger and fries, says the source, ?she feels guilty about it.?
The actress — currently promoting her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey — has partner Brad Pitt, 47, worrying about her health, says a second insider.
“He’s worried about her and has made her see a zillion doctors, but they keep telling her she’s fine.”

Yeah, I don?t believe this. I think Jolie – or anyone who works in famine-ravaged areas of the world – has moments of guilt at being from a country of plenty, but she?s been doing UNHCR work for more than a decade. I just don?t buy that this is her thought process.

Angelina Jolie is asking politicians for their opinions on her movie, ?In the Land of Blood and Honey,? set during the Bosnian war. At a Hearst Tower screening Tuesday night, director Jolie told Marie Claire editor Joanna Coles that she?s discussed the film with Bill Clinton, who ?has [it], but has not watched it.?
She also said she was ?nervous? for the reaction of former NATO commander Gen. Wesley Clark, a consultant on the film. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright also has a copy. As for the current administration, Jolie said, ?We?d hope to send it to anyone who is willing to sit down and watch it.?

Well, considering that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?s elbow is Team Aniston, I?m guessing Angie won?t be sending it to Hills. But I?m sure Bubba enjoys Angelina, although she?s too skinny for his tastes. Maybe Robert Gates wants to see it? I?m surprised Jolie didn?t send it to Colin Powell – you know that she?s tight with him, right?

I was all set to say something pointlessly mean and spiteful about Angelina Jolie in Marie Claire until I got a load of her face the cover. Holy shit she is beautiful. Wow. It’s like staring into the face of God. I just didn’t know God would have such nice DSL’s.

We don?t have access to the new photos of Angelina Jolie at last night?s screening for In the Land of Blood and Honey – you can see them here. Jolie wore a black velvet(y) suit that wasn?t very flattering or anything. But! We do have new photos of Jolie in a spectacular white coat, just out and about in NYC, and I?ve also included a preview of Jolie?s Marie Claire cover shoot for January. Plus, there are about twenty million new stories about Angelina too. It?s ANGELINA WEEK. Here are some highlights:
*Two nights ago, after the premiere of ITLOBAH, Brangelina, Julian Schnabel, Jason Lee and Brad?s parents all partied at the Standard Hotel?s Boom Boom Room. Page Six claims: ?Angelina kept it in the family and hung with Pitt and his mom, Jane Pitt, and dad, Bill Pitt, until about 1 a.m? Jolie was overheard joking that the family should ?take their holiday photo? from the spot [on the hotel roof], with its sweeping views of the city.?
*Angelina told People Magazine that she adores Brad?s parents and ?It means everything? I couldn’t be standing here without them.” The Pitts told People that they were ?very proud? of Jolie and they admired her ability to do everything well, especially ?being a really good mom.?
*BABIES. Note the cover line on Marie Claire - ?I could get pregnant again.? Hmmmm? Will Jolie get knocked up again? Will she adopt again? When asked if she would consider adopting a Bosnian baby, Angelina apparently stuttered out, ?There?s, I, you know, it?s not something that?s, uh, that I?ve thought of.? But the NYDN notes, ?she did say she was working with SOS Children?s Villages to help support a Bosnian child through sales of the film?s soundtrack, ?and in other ways.?”
*Angelina commented about the lawsuit against her filed by Croat journalist James Braddock, who claims that he basically owns the concept of women being raped in POW camps. When asked, Angelina said: ?It’s par for the course. It happens on almost every film.? Angelina did say that “There are many books and documentaries that I did pull from. It’s a combination of many people’s stories. But that particular book I’ve never seen”.
*Angelina might work with director Luc Besson, and it might come sooner rather than later. Deadline reports:
Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in an untitled big-scale movie written and directed by Luc Besson. Besson currently has The Lady in the Oscar mix, but this film sounds like a closer cousin to early Besson efforts like The Professional, La Femme Nikita and The Fifth Element.
I?m told that there are serious talks going on for Jolie to star next spring in a dramatic thriller that is rooted in true scientific elements. Besson?s EuropaCorp developed it and will co-finance, and negotiations are already underway with a studio for domestic distribution. The Besson film would be Jolie?s next as an actress, and it would come before she teams with director Ridley Scott on a historical epic about Gertrude Bell that The Constant Gardener scribe Jeffrey Caine is currently rewriting. I?m told there?s a high likelihood that both films will land at the same studio.
The latter film is an epic adventure about a British aristocrat who helped define the current Middle East and the borders of Iraq after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. She became a seminal figure in Middle East politics during the run-up to WWI, acting in roles that ranged from archaeologist to diplomat, photographer and spy. Jolie is also moving quickly on Maleficent, the Linda Woolverton-scripted revisionist take on the Sleeping Beauty tale for Walt Disney Pictures, and she is getting closer to playing medical examiner Kay Scarpetta in the Fox 2000 drama based on the Patricia Cornwell novel series. Kario Salem has turned in a script he wrote in close collaboration with the author, based on her bestselling novel series.

Angelina working with Luc Besson? That could be interesting and weird and maybe even great. Why is it that she?ll sign on to this weird action/sci-fi, but when she was offered a bajillion dollars to make Gravity, she was all ?NO!?? I still don?t understand that.

Continuing forth with her east coast "In the Land of Blood and Honey" press blitz, Angelina Jolie headed off to the Bloomberg Tower in New York City on Tuesday evening (December 6).
The "Salt" actress kept warm in a white jacket overtop her beige frock as she shuffled towards the Big Apple locale to meet up with partner Brad Pitt, who was spotted posing for pictures with fans outside the Midtown Manhattan skyscraper.
And while Miss Jolie is certainly excited about the upcoming December 23rd release of her directorial debut, she recently ran into a bump in the road - as a lawsuit has been filed following allegations of copyright infringement from a Croatian journalist.
According to reports, reporter James Braddock claims that "In the Land of Blood and Honey" violates copyright of his 2007 book ?The Soul Shattering.?
With the suit having been filed in Illinois on Friday (December 2), Braddock alleges he met with one of the producers of the movie, Edin Sarkic, back in 2008 to talk about the possibility of taking his work to the big screen - though nothing transpired from that point forth.
Feeling betrayed, James is now seeking statutory damages and an injunction against the film.
