Starting off her week with a family day, January Jones went to lunch at Houston's and then to Whole Foods with her son and mother in Pasadena, California on Monday (June 10).
The "Mad Men" star looked fresh in a short-sleeved white top and blue jeans as she carried little Xander on her hip with mom Karen close behind.
Soon, fans can see a more revealing glimpse of the 35-year-old actress in her upcoming film, "Sweetwater."
In the Western, January portrays a former prostitute who pulls a gun and bares her breasts in one scene. "Sweetwater" hit theaters on June 3rd in the UK.

January Jones is best known for playing the ice cold Betty Draper onMad Men or for playing the ice cold Emma Frost inX-Men or for playing an ice cold celebrity in real life. Can you see what all these roles have in common? That’s right. She doesn’t get naked in any of them. Until now.
Jones stars in the upcoming western Sweetwater where she plays Sarah, an ex-prostitute seeking revenge for her husband who was murdered by a fanatical religious leader. It’s a story as old as time. Anyway, she shows her boobs in one scene where two bad guys find her bathing in a river. Though it remains to be seen whether or not even tits could make January Jones bearable.

I know I?m like a broken record at this point, but I LOVE net-a-porter.com?s online magazine The Edit. They have amazing stylists and good photographers and they?re doing some of the best celebrity editorials and interviews these days, better than most print magazines. January Jones is the newest cover girl for The Edit, and I?m including some of her best photographs ever! They managed to shoehorn her into some lovely dresses and they posed her in interesting ways. Of course, she still looks like a stone-cold icy bitch, but that?s just who she is. She owns that. You can read the full interview here and here are some highlights:
Why she?s not on Twitter: ?As an actor, if people know too many things about you they won’t believe you in a certain character. You don’t want people to have a preconceived idea of who you are.?
On not revealing her son?s paternity: ?It’s just not something the public needs to know. I don’t divulge my sexual preferences. There are parts of your life ? no matter what your job ? that should remain private. When I was starting out, other actors advised me to keep certain things close to the vest. When you become a public figure people want to know everything about you, and then [they] pick it apart ? it becomes negative. When my son asks those questions, I want him to [hear it from me]. I don’t want him to be able to Google it.?
On pregnancy: It was the ?most healthy and peaceful I have ever felt?, and she can’t imagine parenthood any other way. ?I don’t have room for anything else, so I don’t know how I would have done it with a partner. I knew I would be raising my son alone. It was something I went in to knowingly, I was prepared mentally ? and I was excited about it.?
Her modeling past: ?I didn’t like modeling. The greatest thing I took from [it] was self-appreciation: I was good at dealing with disappointment. You go on 10 go-sees a day, so when I got to LA and started auditioning, I was used to rejection.?
On the end of Mad Men: ?It will be very sad. We are all so close that we will keep in touch, but I don’t think we will ever have this kind of experience again ? from the relationships we’ve made to the success we have had, to the cultural impact [of the show].?
Happily ever after: ?I am supposed to say I’d like Betty to find happiness or end up with Don, but I think that would be unrealistic. People just don’t end up with the happily ever after, you have your good and bad days. I am not sure Betty is the type of person who, when faced with what would make her happy, would be able to recognize it.?

Much like January?s New York Times interview earlier this week, I do have to give her respect for being able to completely avoid commenting or dropping clues about her son?s paternity. I mean, except for the biggest clue of all, the name ?Xander? and how the boy looks. As for ?I don’t divulge my sexual preferences? ? she divulges them all the time, whenever she climbs on top of a married man or an engaged man. Her ?sexual preferences? are ?dudes wearing wedding rings?.

In an interview with The New York Times, January Jones still won’t reveal who the father of her baby is. She explains that every woman needs to have a little mystery. I don’t think that’s what Cosmo had in mind when they listed that as one of their 50 ways to seduce a man.
Anyway, the interview got off to a great start.
It isn?t easy to coax a smile out of January Jones. Perched on a velveteen banquette at the NoMad hotel in the Flatiron district recently, Ms. Jones didn?t engage in the dithery banter that in Hollywood passes for charm.
What she offered instead was a credible impersonation of Betty Draper Francis, the sweet and sullen character she plays in ?Mad Men,? the role that has turned her into an emblem of glamour as wintry as her name.
Did the NYT just call her an Ice Queen? I think they did. In fact, the next few paragraphs are all about how everyone sees her as cold and frigid. Naturally, they tried to sneak in a question about her baby’s daddy.
Unlike Betty, Ms. Jones, has demonstrated a fierce independence, as single mother to Xander, her 20-month-old son, whose father she has steadfastly refused to name. Was it the actor Michael Fassbender, as has been speculated? Or is it Mr. Vaughn?
?That?s my son?s business,? she said. ?It?s not the public?s business.?
Damn, shot down. Well, what if we gently push a little more like poking a sleeping bear.
Fans might relate better to her if she did discuss her private life, but the prospect seems not to interest her. ?Jack Nicholson once told me: ?You should never give your personal life away, otherwise people will pick you apart. They?ll never believe in your character.? ?
Nope. Didn’t work. Oh well. She then explained that women should have secrets.
While consistently guarded, Ms. Jones can be self-mocking. ?Women should have lots of secrets,? she said, a rare gleam of mischief in her eye. ?It?s our right to have secrets. Otherwise, what would we write in our memoirs??
Wait, so we have to wait another 15 years to find out who she had sex with? Gosh, that’s a long wait. Where’s Maury Povich when you need him?

January Jones has a new New York Times profile ? you can read the whole thing here. It?s not very flattering towards her, but that doesn?t surprise me at all. I?ve been covering January?s interviews and shenanigans for years now, and I think that in real life, she?s a piece of work ? I?m saying that with a mix of judgment, bitchiness and admiration. If I have to give January credit for anything, it?s that she really doesn?t seem to give a crap about what any of us say about her. She gives cryptic, annoying, self-satisfied interviews. She openly fools around with married men, engaged men and otherwise ?taken? men. And she survives, probably because she refuses to apologize or engage the press or the gossip. It?s pretty smart? sort of. Anyway, here are some gems from the NYT piece:
She doesn?t engage with interviewers: ?I?m not trying to sell myself,? Ms. Jones said matter-of-factly. ?I wouldn?t know how.?
On Betty Draper-Francis: ?That was the fear for me, that we?d be in the third season, and you?d hate the character. She is really searching for something, but doesn?t know herself well enough to know what might make her happy,? she said. If Betty seems unmoored, ?that?s because she is a little girl, an orphan. She has a childlike emotional response to things. You have to treat that very, very tenderly.?
Betty?s crazy ?rape joke?: ?Betty has a sick sense of humor. People need to realize that in that scene, Betty is just basically trying to make Henry blush. ?
On her son?s paternity: ?That?s my son?s business. It?s not the public?s business.?
She name-drops Jack Nicholson again: ?Jack Nicholson once told me: ?You should never give your personal life away, otherwise people will pick you apart. They?ll never believe in your character.? ?
Secrets! ?Women should have lots of secrets,? she said, a rare gleam of mischief in her eye. ?It?s our right to have secrets. Otherwise, what would we write in our memoirs??
Her fashion: ?Most of my choices are my ultramodern and very thought-out,? she said. On the red carpet, meanwhile, ?I want to do things that are shocking.? Critics dismissed the stiffly bibbed Prabal Gurung gown she wore to the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January, but ?I wanted to go extreme in hair and makeup, like a Bowie character, maybe,? Ms. Jones said. ?I thought that might be a little confusing, which I like.? She accented the trim black Chanel dress she wore last week to the gala for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with messily coiled hair and masklike eyes, prompting self-appointed red carpet pundits to quip that she looked like Batman, or worse, like the white swan?s evil double. So what? ?Those people don?t have degrees in fashion,? Ms. Jones said. ?Why would I care what they say??
Money: ?I wasn?t brought up with money. I don?t think I?d spend more than $150 on a shirt.? She is orderly. ?I?m almost O.C.D.,? she said. ?You will never find a piece of clothing on my floor. I can?t relax if I?m sitting in a mess.? She has passed that fastidiousness to her son. ?His first word was ?Mama,? ? she said. ?His second was ?back,? ?cause I keeping saying, ?Put it back.? ?
Eating her son?s placenta. ?It was like taking a vitamin blended into a smoothie,? she said unabashedly, explaining that the practice is a common folk remedy against postpartum blues. Maybe she shouldn?t have been so candid, Ms. Jones said, adding with pinch of sarcasm: ?I?m a mammal. I nursed. I did all kinds of weird stuff.?

It?s amazing to me that January managed to get through a big interview with a non-celebrity media outlet and she didn?t get asked a single question about Liam Hemsworth and whether she is the reason Liam and Miley Cyrus are maybe/probably not engaged anymore. The NYT referenced it of course, but if January said one word about it, they didn?t include it. As for her OCD thing and her son?s second word being ?back? ? that?s just funny. I would like to imagine January loosens up and warms up around her son, but maybe not. Maybe she?s more like Betty Francis than we even realized.

With her adorable little man by her side, January Jones went for a walk with her sister and their dog in West Hollywood on Saturday (May 11).
The "Mad Men" star wore a gray long-sleeved striped top and blue jeans as she alternated holding Xander's hand and carrying him when he got tired.
Though slim and trim in real life, the 35-year-old actress portrays Don Draper's weight-gaining former wife in the hit AMC series.
Speaking about playing "fat Betty," January shares, "It's been an acting challenge and a physical challenge. But I've really embraced it, and I love where [creator Matthew Weiner] has taken the character."

OK, I think we shall name this post ?The Remainders?. Because we totally missed them early this morning when we were culling through the photos. Which speaks volumes about the fashion you are about to see. Let?s start with January Jones in Chanel? the dress doesn?t bother me at all. It?s a pretty dress and I?m surprised she got her hands on a Chanel for the Met Gala. BUT THE MAKEUP. She looks like she?s about to suck out our souls. Is that punk?
Alexander Skarsgard was there! I bet he was catnip to some of these ladies. Ten bucks says Cameron Diaz was trying to stab that with her spiked belt.
Livia and Colin Firth were there! There weren?t many photos of them though. I?m sure Livia?s dress is recycled or sustainable. It?s really pretty.
Damian Lewis and his wife Helen. I LOVE her dress.
Jessica Biel in Giambattista Valli. This is terrible! Justin Timberlake didn?t want any part of it so he didn?t even walk the carpet with her.
Chelsea Clinton looks SO MUCH like Hillary here.
Kerry Washington in Vera Wang. EH. I?ve seen her look so much better, and this doesn?t work on any kind of punk level. Overall, she just looks cheap.
Kristen Dunst in Louis Vuitton. Not the best, not the worst.
Sienna Miller in Burberry (sorry we don?t have a full-length photo, but it?s nothing special). The jacket is unexpectedly enchanting.

Stepping out for an evening devoted to fashion, January Jones showed up at the 2013 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 6).
Keeping with the PUNK theme, the ?Mad Men? actress donned a figure-hugging black leather Chanel frock as she posed for photographers on the chilly Big Apple night.
Every year, the Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art puts together a killer collection of amazing goodies complete with a star-studded party to kick things off.
And this time around the theme is ?PUNK: Chaos to Couture,? an examination of punk?s impact on high fashion from the 1970s up to the collections found on today?s runways the world over.

Looking spring-like in jeans and a green-and-white sweater, the ?X-Men? actress accessorized her look with a white leather tote and tan booties as she headed inside.

Ready for spring in a brightly-striped sweater, the "Sweetwater" cutie had a little helper in her son Xander, as she picked up some essentials at Whole Foods.
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty will make her return to the small screen next month when "Mad Men" returns for its sixth season.
A drama about one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, the show airs on Sunday, April 7 at 9/8 central on AMC.
