Putting an end to the so called "Snooki Subsidy," Governor Chris Christie has vetoed a measure that allowed for MTV's "Jersey Shore" to take advantage of a major tax break.
Making the call on Monday, the governor blocked a $420,000 film credit that was approved by the Economic Development Authority last week, which allowed for the state to flip some of the bill for show's production costs.
"I have no interest in policing the content of such projects. However, as chief executive I am duty-bound to ensure that taxpayers are not footing a $420,000 bill for a project which does nothing more than perpetuate misconceptions about the state and its citizens," Mr. Christie said in a news release according to Newark Star-Ledger.
The move by Christie marks a stark reversal from his previous position, as he had contested that he was unable to veto the credit, as told by his spokesperson, "It's the law. If the Legislature has buyer's remorse, they are free to fix it."

Showing off her slim 'n sexy figure, Jenni ?JWoww? Farley played hostess at a Caesars Palace bash in Las Vegas on Friday night (August 26).
Held inside the luxury resort's Pure nightclub, the "Jersey Shore" hottie was decked out in a skintight blue frock as she drank and danced the night away while sharing a few smooches with her bodybuilder beau, Roger Matthews.
Tweeting her excitement over the Sin City gig, JWoWW happily wrote, "Vegas baby! Off to Pure nightclub :)" while adding a short while later, "Loving pure :)"
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old reality star has recently found herself the subject of plastic surgery rumors, but she's denied any such doing while attributing the change in appearance to her weight loss.
Miss Farley dished to InTouch magazine, "People are saying I got cheek implants, my chin shaved down and a nose job. I lost 15 pounds and my cheeks have become more defined. I highlight my cheeks instead of putting bronzer on them."
Attributing the shedding of the pounds to working out with her muscle-laden boyfriend, JWoWW then said, "I'll probably get Botox by the time I'm 30 and have my breast implants redone in a few years after I've had kids."

Enjoying her time in New York City, Jenni ?JWoww? Farley was spotted doing some shopping at FAO Schwarz on Monday (August 8).
The ?Jersey Shore? gal looked to be dressed for fall in jeans and boots, and smiled happily for the on-hand photogs.
Earlier today, the reality TV star made an appearance on ?Live! With Regis and Kelly? and discussed her disappointment in the tanning situation in Italy.
She told, "Their beds just weren't up to our standards, so we would go for like, 28 minutes or double sessions, and I would come out with just freckles," she said. "So I was doubling up on the spray-tanning day and night, and not only that ? you'd have to walk to the tanning salon."

Getting off to a rough start, Jenni ?JWoww? Farley was spotted earlier today (June 30) as she took a tumble while trying to open the doors to the "Jersey Shore" t-shirt shop that employs her.
The 25-year-old and fellow cast member Sammi were in a hurry to open the store and start their very first day of work before the unfortunate fall.
Once JWoWW and Sammi made it inside the Seaside Heights store, the shop's manager realized one "Jersey Shore" star was late for their shift - Vinny Guadagnino.
Vinny, known as the least-flashy of the gang, failed to show up to work following an abrupt and seemingly angry 1am exit from the cast's home the night before.

Snooki and JWoWW headed to KS Fitness for a workout and then went to tan and holy crap, Snooki is short. I never really see her height put into perspective. I bet you could punt her 30 maybe 40 yards easy.
