When I first saw this hideous gown that Madonna wore at last night?s NYC premiere of W.E., my first thought was that she had probably picked out the ugliest thing she could find from Dior or something. Turns out, Madonna is wearing Marchesa. Of course. I should have recognized the ice-skater fugness. I guess it makes sense because Harvey Weinstein is really trying to make W.E. happen in a big way, and by association, he?s trying to make Madonna-as-Director happen in a big way. Thus, Madge wears Harvey?s wife?s hideous designs. But at this point, doesn?t it seem like Georgina Chapman is just trying to make the worst gowns possible, just to see who will go along with wearing them?
As for Madonna?s face? rough. In the past few months, I?ve kept saying that Madonna looks better, that her chicken cutlet cheek implants have finally settled, that she doesn?t look so crazy anymore. I take it all back. She still looks crazy.

With less than two weeks left until its February 3rd theatrical release date, Madonna hit the red carpet for the New York City premiere of "W.E." at the Ziegfeld Theater on Monday night (January 23).
Hosted by The Weinstein Company with The Cinema Society & Forevermark, the Material Girl wore a flamboyantly fabulous black and grey gown as she joined alongside the movie's cast members Oscar Isaac, Andrea Riseborough, James D'Arcy and David Harbour.
Upon taking the stage to present her cinematical work, Madonna teared up as she dedicated the film to her mother, saying, "If I cry... don't hold it against me. Everyone knows when I'm tired, I cry... So forgive me. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a sentimental person. "
A short while earlier, the pop icon chatted with MTV on the arrivals carpet about her hopes that she lands an Oscars bid during tommorow's nominations ceremony.
Having already won a Golden Globe for Best Song, the 53-year-old dished, "Well, the Oscars, the nominations are coming out tomorrow, and fingers crossed, I hope my movie gets nominated for something. I would be really grateful if it did, but if it doesn't, I got the Super Bowl ? keep on going."

I have been staring at these photos of Madonna – at the London premiere of W.E. last night – and I think I?ve finally figured out all of the pieces. The base is a spaghetti-strapped black gown. Then Madonna added this fire-engine-red fingerless gloves, as some kind of weird homage to Michael Jackson, maybe? And then on top of that, she added the Dolce & Gabbana cape – which really is a CAPE, like Madge is a Couture Super-Hero or something. The cape is the thing on her neck – that?s not a separate ribbon necklace, that?s part of the cape?s tie. So, what do you think of the outfit as a whole? If she had taken off the gloves, I think it would have been interesting. With the gloves, it just looks? odd.
That being said, this is maybe the best Madonna has looked in a while. Her arms are exposed, and I don?t feel like I?m being assaulted by gristle – which just proves that dropping Tracy Anderson as your trainer greatly improves your overall look. Her hair is a good length, and it makes her face look longer, which is good because she was looking so chipmunky and jacked lately. As for her chicken cutlet cheek implants – everything has softened and relaxed, right? Her face looks almost normal!
By the way, Madonna is going to be all over the place this year. She?s going to be at the Globes on Sunday, and who knows? Maybe even at the Oscars if W.E. is up for anything. She?s also going to be releasing a new album in March – she?s already revealed the album name – M.D.N.A.
PS? I?m including a pic of James D?Arcy, the English actor I love. He plays Edward in W.E. He?s incredibly talented and strangely beautiful in that weird English way. I heart him.

Arriving for the UK premiere of her directorial work, Madonnawas spotted on the red carpet for "W.E." at The Odeon Kensington in London, England on Wednesday evening (January 11).
The ?Material Girl? donned a black Jean Paul Gaultier frock and a Dolce & Gabbana cape accessorized with a pair of red leather gloves, perhaps in honor of her late friend, Michael Jackson.
As one of the director/writers for the upcoming drama/romance flick, Madonna recently told press that she became obsessed with making the film, which involves an affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson.
?If you?re a romantic like me everyone wants to be swept away by a night knight in shining armour but we keep getting disappointed. If you have half a brain you know that doesn?t exist,? she told.

Fulfilling some international promotional duties, Madonna was spotted at a photocall for her film ?W.E.? in London, England today (January 11).
The Material Girl joined James D?Arcy and Andrea Riseborough at The London Studios and looked beautiful in a navy blue and black getup.
As for her musical pursuits, Madge has announced her 12th studio album M.D.N.A will hit stores later this year.
Additionally, she?ll perform her lead single ?Give Me All Your Love? at the SuperBowl XLVI in Indianapolis on February 5th. It?s gonna be hot!

Celebrating her directorial debut, Madonna held a fabulous fete for ?W.E.? in New York City on Sunday evening (December 4).
The ?Like a Virgin? songstress explained to press that taking her idea and making it a reality was something of a birthing process.
?Making art and being creative is always a challenge. Making a film is all encompassing- there are so many aspects to it, but I think the more I do it, the easier it?s going to get.?
Designer Donna Karan noted that Madge may face opposition as a filmmaker, given that most of her background is in the music industry. ?I think people get you in a box. They can?t see anything else but that. I face it, too.?
Other famous faces in the house included Parker Posey, Valentino, Giancarlo Giammetti, Julian Schnabel, Olivier Theyskens, Jenny Shimizu, Alan Cumming, Chlo Sevigny, Rachel Roy, Patti Smith, and Anderson Cooper.

Madonna was announced as the big halftime show performance at Super Bowl XLVI. I guess Geritol’s putting a bid in for ads this year. The NY Daily News says:
Madonna will perform at halftime of the NFL’s biggest game on Feb. 5, the NFL and NBC announced on Sunday night. The move had been rumored for months, but was not made official until halftime of NBC’s Lions-Saints game.
More than 162 million people in the U.S. watched The Black Eyed Peas’ halftime performance during last year’s Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium, according to the Associated Press.
Yes, nothing appeals to your typical American football fan like a veiny middle-aged women dancing in a purple unitard with a team of submissives in leather tutus behind her. Next to beer, it’s practically their favorite thing.

The ?Material Girl? songstress arrived at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan where she hammed it up with the movie?s star Andrea Riseborough.
In career news, Madge has been officially named as the illustrious halftime show performer at the upcoming Super Bowl XLVI.
The announcement was made during the Detroit Lions vs New Orleans Saints game last night, and the Super Bowl will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 5th, 2012.

These are photos of Madonna at a screening of W.E. at MOMA in NYC last night. I don?t know who designed her outfit – well, I know it wasn?t Stella McCartney – but I think it?s actually a cute outfit. During Madge?s promotion of W.E., I?ve been concentrating on her jacked face too much, and I haven?t been giving Madge enough credit for dressing well. While I don?t think she?s capable of being ?age appropriate,? this publicity tour is the closest she?s come. This outfit in particular is super-cute.
So, as the awards season has begun in earnest, do you think Madge is disappointed that W.E. is being consistently overlooked for awards? I think she?s probably disappointed, because Madge thinks everything she does is pure brilliance. On the bright side, W.E. might end up with some Oscar nominations for production design or costumes, so Madge can say that she directed an ?Oscar-nominated film.? She?ll like that. Sidenote: I’m pretty sure W.E. is in limited release right now for awards contention, although it might have gotten pushed back?
Meanwhile, it?s time for Madge?s next act. No one really cares about her as a director, but some people still care about her as a pop music performer. Thus, Madge has just signed on to headline the halftime show at the Super Bowl. Ugh.
Madonna will headline the halftime show of the upcoming Super Bowl at Indianapolis, Indiana’s Lucas Oil Stadium on February 5, the NFL and NBC announced Sunday night. The Grammy Award-winning Vogue singer will work with a Cirque du Soleil squad, choreographer Jamie King and Moment Factory for what is sure to be a historical performance in the making.
Last year’s game included performances from The Black Eyed Peas, Slash and Usher. The film W.E. — which Madonna directed, wrote and produced — hits theaters February 3. Fun fact: The 53-year-old Material Girl has past dated jocks including hoops enigma Dennis Rodman, and baseball sluggers Alex Rodriguez and Jose Canseco.

Making another stop on the major cinema circuit, Madonna took over the spotlight at the 55th Annual BFI London Film Festival on Sunday night (October 23).
The Material Girl was on hand for the premiere of her directorial effort "W.E." while joined at the Empire Leicester Square venue by guests including Graham Norton, Claudia Winkleman and Liz Rosenberg.
Set to hit theaters December 9th, ?W.E.? is a two-tiered love story about Wally Winthrop, a woman in 1999 who is infatuated with the 1930s marriage of King Edward VIII.
Starring Abbie Cornish, James D?Arcy and Andrea Riseborough, the film gracefully weaves the past and present into two parallel plots.
