Dusting off her stage chops, Christina Hendricks showed up at the Jason Reitman All-Star Cast Table Read of ?American Beauty? at the Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday (September 6).
The ?Mad Men? hottie donned a black velour pants suit and maroon heels as she strolled into the venue where she read the part of Carolyn Burnham, originally played by Annette Bening in the film version.
In a previous interview, Jason Reitman explained that having Christina and Bryan Cranston play the leads was an ideal combination.
?When I think of those two roles, I think of Bryan Cranston and Christina Hendricks because they know how to balance domestic drama while making it scary and hilarious at the same time. There?s an intensity and hilarity to both of them. ...When I think of Christina on 'Mad Men' and Bryan on 'Breaking Bad,' that is the balance of both shows: they deal with extreme drama that can be funny at any moment, and that?s really at the heart of 'American Beauty.'?

Here’s ginger hottie Christina Hendricks walking around town yesterday with her massive breasts covered up in denim shirt. I know that thing has snaps on it, that middle one must be working really hard to contain those massive breasts she’s got under there. Give up buddy, you can’t hold on forever, let those things out.

Christina Hendricks was photographed on Melrose Place yesterday (leaving a Hugo Boss boutique, actually), and for the first time ever, her rack was not the main focus of attention. In fact, Christina seemed to take great (uncharacteristic) care to hide her rack behind a denim shirt, which she paired with subdued black jeans and pumps. So what’s the big fuss? Well, Christina just happened to get papped with a one-of-a-kind Farbod Barsum handbag (the “Isabella” tote), which costs a very hefty $23,980. Seriously.
Isn’t this one of the ugliest overpriced purses that you’ve ever seen? Kaiser, CB, and I were all rolling our eyes over it because it honestly shouldn’t be worth more than $500, right? At first, I thought Christina must have merely been gifted this bag, which is actually quite atrocious looking, because there’s no way in hell that she would have forked over that kind of money for a purse. She doesn’t even make that much money from “Mad Men” (none of the actors do), and her movie roles thus far have mostly been limited to playing the best friend of the main character. She obviously couldn’t afford this bag even if she wanted it. Sure, she’s got some endorsements (like Vivienne Westwood), but still, this is an outrageously pricey tote.
Then it was brought to my attention that there was actually a press release about Christina carrying this purse, which means that she was very likely paid to get papped with one of the most ridiculous purses in the entire universe. Easy work if you can get it, right? All the while, Vincent Kartheiser is stuck living with a wooden box without a toilet. Poor Pete Campbell.

Every girl loves a little retail therapy, and it's safe to say Christina Hendricks is no exception after seeing her take on the shops along Melrose Ave in Los Angeles this afternoon (July 26).
Making her initial stop at Rummage, the red-haired and red dress-wearing "Mad Men" stunner continued on to a nearby antique shop, where she looked ever so happy to pick up a vintage lamp.
During a recent sitdown with The Look, Christina chatted about her style, her favorite places to shop and how her style has changed.
As for how her fashion know-how has evolved in the past five years, Hendericks explained, "I've learned a lot from being on 'Mad Men,' as far as tailoring and silhouettes," adding that she "has a lot of pencil skirts" now.
"I used to like very 1920s baggy, floral, lacy things that probably weren't the most flattering on me, but they were just so gorgeous that I wore them anyway," Christina continued.
And just where does she like to pick up her vintage wares? While Hendricks says the Salvation Army used to be her spot growing up, she's moved on to more high-end spots such as L.A's eclectic My Ulrika storefront.

Here are some photos from last night?s TV Critics Choice Awards (or Critics Choice TV Awards, what have you). They got a pretty good turnout and a nice mix of TV stars from smaller, critically acclaimed shows and stars from bigger, popular network shows. Homeland won Best TV Drama, and Claire Danes won Best Actress for her portrayal of a CIA agent who loses her mind. You can read more about the awards here. Christina Hendricks won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her work in Mad Men – and Christina was there, wearing this unfortunate black dress. Sigh. You know I love her. But she looks like an old-timey madam at an Old West brothel.
Julie Bowen in ?unknown. My guess is Marchesa? Because it?s awful. That being said, I think Julie has put on a little weight and it looks really, really good on her.
Ty Burrell is so cute. I LOVE HIM. He won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy.
Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta. If you?re going to go for a twee, old-school, vintage-y ?party dress,? you might as well go for de la Renta. I don?t really hate the dress, although I don?t think the color is great on Zooey. She should do something different with her hair for formal red carpets too. Zooey & Amy Poehler shared the ?Best Actress in a Comedy? award.
Julianne Moore in Jason Wu – honestly, Julianne rarely blows me away on a red carpet. But this isn?t actively bad or anything, and really? she looks great in general. She could easily pass for a woman 15 years younger. She won Best Actress for a TV Movie for Game Change.
Here?s Sarah Hyland in a cute little minidress. This was her first public appearance since her kidney transplant – it?s good to see her looking so healthy.
Max Greenfield is the best!!
And you know how much I love Damon Wayans Jr. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!

Christina Hendricks and her husband, The Nerd King, were in New York City all last week, and there were lots of street photos of them walking around, looking cute. As you know, I?m not a huge fan of Christina?s street style. Or her red carpet style, for that matter. She seems like a girly-girl who loves frills and beading and everything ?cute? – and most of it looks like hell on her. Still, I do want to note that Christina?s hair is improving, and she seems to have finally figured out that pencil skirts are a great look on her figure. Well done, Christina.
***Spoilers for this season of Mad Men and last night’s episode***
Before last night?s Mad Men, I had been kind of depressed about the lack of Joan/Christina on the show this season. Joan really is a supporting character on the show – I think it was Season 3 where she disappeared for, like, half a season. This season, the premiere episode teased us with a good Joan storyline, and then there was that awesome episode a month ago when Joan finally, at long last, left her husband, Dr. Rapist. Oh, sorry. Captain Doctor Rapist. That was a stellar episode, and a great emotional payoff for those of us who love to see Joan stand up for herself. And then? not much. Joan went back to being in the background for other character?s storylines. Incidentally, how much did you love Joan?s bitchy comments about Megan Draper and the ?kind of women? Don Draper goes for?
And then last night – finally – another great emotional payoff for fans of the show. Don Draper and Joan circle each other like prize fighters, both equals in each other?s eyes, both equally hot, tragic and smart. Joan got served with divorce papers (?like he has the moral high ground,? she sniped) and when she first got served, that was Christina Hendricks at her best, wasn?t it? Joan LOST IT. And she took it out on one of her ?girls? – the dumb little receptionist. And Don came in to save the day, and it was perfect between them. All of those scenes between Joan and Don – they were so sexy together, so amazing. They were like sex scenes, only they were just talking and drinking and looking at Jaguars. Loved the ?Aly Khan? joke (he married Rita Hayworth, another buxom redhead). Loved the convoluted, drunken conversation about what ?he? and ?she? need and want. Love that Don?s advice to Joan was to ?go all the way? with a guy before telling him that she?s a single mother. Love that Don walked away at the end of the night, where the Old Don would have taken Joan to a hotel.
Hated that Megan threw a hissy fit when Don came home. While I like that Megan stands up to Don, her ?standing up for herself? moments are becoming more like childish tantrums.
Sigh? Joan and Don. They need to take Peggy out, and all three of them need to get wasted and really talk about everything – life, love, work, all of it.
Okay, Roger can come too.

Heading off for some career duties, Christina Hendricks was spotted hopping into a taxi cab yesterday (May 17) in New York City.
The crimson-coiffed knockout made sure to give her doting husband Geoffrey Arend a smooch before bidding him farewell for a bit.
And coming up this Sunday night (May 20), Christina and the rest of her Sterling Cooper Draper & Pryce cohorts return to AMC with a new episode of ?Mad Men.?
Per the episode synopsis, ?Christmas proves rewarding to many at the agency; Harry does a good turn for a friend.?
