Showing off her bright auburn locks, Christina Hendricks was spotted stepping out of her Manhattan hotel in New York City, New York on Tuesday (May 8).
Offering up a curbside attraction, the "Mad Men" star patiently waited for a cab in front of her hotel and looked adroable in a mint green sweater that she paired with a white tee, skinny jeans, coral colored pumps and a light Pink purse.
Christina recently talked about how lucky she feels to play her character during an interview with the network, revealing, "I think I've been really lucky in that Joan is really a one-of-a-kind character."
She added, "She's not a stereotype and you don't just see roles like that in every script you get. People have asked me if I've worried about being typecast, but there is no "type" for Joan."

Finally, a Christina Hendricks photo shoot that doesn?t have me pulling out my hair. It does have me musing about big-busted girls and the dangers of going strapless, though. I could never wear strapless gowns, because my girls would be all ?HELLOOOOO!? as they popped out. As I?m afraid Christina?s girls will too. Still, I like this shoot much more than her leather-clad bow-and-arrow shoot from last week. Anyway, Christina is doing all of these magazine shoots and interviews because Mad Men comes back in just a few weeks. I have no idea why January Jones and Elisabeth Moss don?t also have magazine covers, but whatever. I?ll take Christina. Her Blackbook interview is kind of boring for non-Mad-Men-stans, though. So if you don?t care about Joan Holloway (Harris), just skip this:
She doesn?t want to talk about her boobs: ‘I?ve always been really comfortable in my skin, but I?m really just a girl who would prefer talking about my acting rather than my body,’ she says. ‘But I?m a very comfortable naked person. Not in front of other people, but at home and in front of my husband [actor Geoffrey Arend]. I feel good not wearing clothes.’
The new season of Mad Men: Filming it ‘went by in a blink,? she says, ‘A lot happens this year. Last year was building up to what was going to happen with Don and Betty, and although there?s that, so much happens with each character this season that we were all like, ?Whoa,? And a lot happens to Joan.’
Joanie is confident: ‘The amazing thing about Joan is how confident she is,’ she says. ‘I was never that confident. When we shot the pilot I was like, “Who is this woman? I?m not friends with people like that.?’
Joanie talks about sex: ‘She?s living in the ?60s, but she uses sexual innuendo, which is taboo. Because of that – and a very tight green dress – she became a sexual character. She was very openly saying, I have sex, and I don?t care if you judge me. I?m not going to apologise for who I am. Those qualities resonated with people, and have given me confidence. Just as I have changed, and as significant things have happened in my life, like getting married and moving into a new home, Joan has gotten married and gotten pregnant,’ says Christina, in reference to Joan’s surprising, news at the end of last season.
Life after Mad Men: ‘The idea that we have two seasons left is a bit daunting,’ says Christina. ‘It?s been nice to have security. A lot of us have been around for a while. We know how cyclical this stuff is and how fleeting it can be, so the idea that the show will end is certainly bubbling inside of me, but I?ve never had a plan.’

Um, ?I?m really just a girl who would prefer talking about my acting rather than my body.? In what world? I never thought I?d say this to one of my girls, but ?Bitch, please.? Christina loves talking about her body. She gives interview after interview about her body. To be fair, she gets LOTS of questions about her figure, for good reason – she?s held up as a positive role model for curvy women. But let?s not pretend that this conversation has been forced upon her. Christina loves the attention.

In the April issue of V Magazine (the one with J. Lo?s CUP), Christina Hendricks has this pictorial and interview, likely to promote the upcoming season of Mad Men. MARCH 25!!!!! OMG. Less than a month away!!! I might need to re-watch Season 4 just because I think I?ve forgotten some stuff. Anyway, Christina, leather, bad styling. Damn, I really hate this photo shoot. What can I even say about Christina at this point – I really like her on Mad Men, and I think she?s an underrated actress. But she?s not stylish. And she often looks like hell on the red carpet and in magazines. I just don?t know anymore. Christina’s full V Mag piece is here, and here are some highlights:
Christina on going unnoticed: ?Oh, I can totally go unnoticed. I ran around all day today. Not a mention. In Los Angeles you know the neighborhoods where you?re more likely to get noticed. And then you probably put on lipstick.?
Joan?s pregnancy: ?It probably surprised a lot of people. It certainly surprised me,? she says. ?Joan certainly has motherly instincts?at least in a bossy way.?
Learning how to wear a girdle: ?Now I put moleskin underneath the rubber so it doesn?t rub against my skin,? she says. ?I still get a little bruised up, but I?m learning the tricks of the trade.?
Life before Mad Men: ?I used to play characters more nave than Joan, who is so sophisticated and?not jaded, but worldlier,? she says. ?I?ve definitely learned from playing a character that is so confident and resilient.?
She?s playful: In the past several years, she has donned a motion-capture suit to star in Need For Speed: The Run, an installment in a massive racing-simulator-video-game franchise; judged an episode of Top Chef Masters (with her husband, actor Geoffrey Arend); appeared as a Latisse spokeswoman for a special project to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation (?I have long, beautiful lashes right now,? she says); and is currently the voice of the Baskin-Robbins ?Flavortising? campaign (?I?ve always been a butter-pecan girl?). She has also admitted to enjoying a drive in her PT Cruiser and, it should be noted, appeared twice as Saffron, a seductive outer-space con artist, on Joss Whedon?s 2002 short-lived but slavishly followed Firefly (fanboys never forget).
Getting more parts because of Mad Men: ?It?s amazing to even get these opportunities,? she continues. ?I didn?t have them before Mad Men?it opened up so many doors. I feel like a kid in a candy store and I want to try everything.?

Christina Hendricks told the Mirror that she had the worst high school experience ever and was constantly bullied for being a goth. She says she grew up feeling “ugly, awkward and horrible.” Yea, it’s going to be another one of those stories.
?My school days were pretty unhappy. I had the worst high school experience ever. I went to a very mean school and was bullied like crazy.
?I was a bit of a goth with purple hair and I was also part of the drama group, so my friends and I were all weird theatre people and everyone just hated us.
?There was a long corridor with lockers on either side and kids would sit on top of them and spit on you. It was like something out of Lord of the Flies.? The Mirror
Well, I’d hate to see how that hallway looked at the end of school every day. From that description, I imagine there were dried up loogies lining the floor. You have to wonder, who had it harder, her or the guy who had to clean that up every single evening.
A natural blonde, she began dying her hair red aged 10 ? to be like the heroine of children?s book Anne of Green Gables. Then in her early teens, the family moved to Fairfax, Virginia.
Christina says: ?The girls there had purses and I still had my backpack from Idaho.
?Moving as a teenager is never easy. So I tried to set myself apart and it ended up with multi-coloured hair. It was how I was expressing myself.
?I was a goth kid. I dyed my hair about 42 different colours, shaved it at the back and wore black make-up. Kids can be pretty judgmental about people who are different.
So instead of buying a purse, she bought 42 different colors of hair dye, shaved the back of her head and put on black make-up. Makes sense.
“But instead of breaking down and conforming, I stood firm. That is also probably why I was unhappy.
?My mother was mortified and kept telling me how horrible and ugly I looked. Strangers would walk by with a look of shock on their face, so I never felt pretty. I just always felt awkward.
?If I could go back and tell my 14-year-old self anything it would be, ?Don?t worry. You?re going to be doing exactly what you want to be doing and those people who are a***holes now are still going to be a***holes in 20 years. So let it go!??
And look at Christina Hendricks now. Voted Sexiest Woman in the World because she has a 38DD-32-38 figure. The very important lesson I learned from this story is big tits make everything better.

Christina Hendricks has a new, longish interview with The Mirror – you can read the full thing here. You know I like Christina, or Titsy McCleavage-Wall, as I have recently started calling her. I?ve always liked her, I?ve always defended her, mostly because I think she?s a decent actress, and it?s nice to see a woman with a different kind of body type on television, and I enjoy how Christina?s figure is so celebrated. That being said, some of this interview kind of pissed me off. Christina is jumping on the ?I was bullied? bandwagon, which? I dislike when celebrities do this. I understand that many of them are trying to reach out to young kids who are bullied, and trying to let them know that this too shall pass. But mostly I think celebrities talk about being fake-bullied because they want to position themselves as victims. As for Christina – she was ?bullied? because she dyed her hair. For reals.

Realizing she was pretty: After leaving school Christina was persuaded to enter a contest to appear on the cover of Seventeen magazine. Wearing a wig she posed for pictures in a cemetery. And even though she didn?t win the competition, those photographs proved a revelation. ?When I got the pictures back my mum and I started crying because I had no idea I could be pretty,? she recalls. ?I?d always felt awkward. It was the first time I really felt pretty. It just sort of changed my perspective of myself.?
Size: At 5ft 8in tall and weighing 11st, Christina is a UK size 14 and those famous curves reportedly measure 38DD-32-38. But when she started modeling straight out of high school, ?I?d done ballet for years and was tiny then, a size 4 [UK size 8], so I didn?t have any problems about conforming to a certain body type. As you get older your body changes. I?ve tried to embrace how I look at every stage.?
Gaining weight: ?When I was working in Italy I was having cappuccinos every day. I?d take my clothes off in front of the mirror and be like, ?Oh, I look like a woman.? I felt beautiful and I never tried to lose it ?cos I loved it. I was 20lb lighter than I am now, but modelling agencies used to tell me to lose 10, 15, 20lb. I?d be like ?That?s bone ? I can?t. That?s not going anywhere!??
Christina is ?credited? with the rise in demand for boob jobs: ?I hope I?m not encouraging that. If there?s anything to be learned from me it?s that I?m learning to celebrate what I was born with, even though it?s sometimes been inconvenient. Having larger breasts has made it harder to shop, but I?ve learned to love it… But now I feel like everyone talks about my bust in public.?

I know, I know. She talked about her boobs again. That?s something you have to realize about us girls who are well-endowed – we think about our boobs a lot. We talk about our boobs a lot. It?s because they feel so big sometimes, we just figure that everyone has noticed them and we might as well talk about them. As for whether Christina?s are real (and really 38 DD? – she seems bigger) – she?s already claimed hers are real.

I was surprised that more people didn?t comment on yesterday?s Christina Hendricks post – she was at the BAFTAs, and she looked AWFUL. Like, one of her worst red carpet appearances ever. Anyway, Christina is still in London, and last night she stepped out for the Elle Style Awards. Hendricks wore this purple Carolina Herrera which? sucks. Yes, we?re no longer facing Titsy McCleavage-Wall, but she?s been replaced by? Wallpaper McFug. What is going on with her? She usually doesn?t have two massive style failures in a row. Something is wrong. My Spidey sense is tingling. Titsy is in trouble!!!!
Here?s Rufus Sewell as a palate cleanser. He looks like he?s about to do something gross to your butt. That?s the look on his face! ?Here I come, turn around!?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in an Antonio Berardi mullet dress. This is one of the prettier mullet dresses I?ve ever seen, but that?s not saying much. Rosie probably thinks she?s looks super-high-fashion. She doesn?t.
The newly single David Gandy was at the event, looking gorge. This man? he?s so pretty. I especially love his hair here. He looks like he?s been off shagging some girl who was running her fingers through his hair and he didn?t get a chance to comb it. That girl was me, bitches.
Gillian Anderson in vintage Sarmi. Gillian wears a hell of a lot of vintage – she might even wear vintage exclusively. I appreciate the bold color choice, and it?s always nice to see a vintage gown, but I don?t think this look was a win. It makes her look preggo and I don?t think her coloring is right for bright yellow.
Alexa Chung in a fug suit, looking fug. I don?t get why this girl is a thing AT ALL. It?s not like I think she?s pretty in a normal way and I don?t get why everyone thinks she?s a great beauty – the problem is that she?s not even ?normal pretty.? The Emperor has no clothes, people. There is no reason for boring Alexa Chung to be a thing.
And finally, Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen. I don?t like it? on her. She?s too milquetoast to pull it off. If I was styling her, I would put in her much cleaner, simpler lines. Everything tailored, everything one color, everything impeccable. But Jessica is trying to ?happen? as a fashion girl, and I don?t understand why – she works constantly. She doesn?t need to be Jessica Biel, you know? She has more going on than being a ?Fashion Girl.?

Both Christina Hendricks and Meryl Streep wore Vivienne Westwood gowns at last night?s BAFTAs in London. The results were mixed. Let?s talk about Christina first, since she?s one of my favorite girls and because I?ve really missed seeing her on the Golden Globes and SAG red carpets. Okay, y?all: Christina looked like HELL. When this girl is styled badly, it?s the absolute worse. Christina is actually the face of Vivienne Westwood?s jewelry line, so it was an obvious choice for her to wear Westwood, but couldn?t Christina find something that would compliment her figure a bit more? Something that wouldn?t make her look so? lumpy? This is just not a flattering dress on her, and I?m not even talking about the Titsy McCleavage-Wall situation.
But the worst part? The styling! Jesus. Christina and her clown makeup – someone needs to take away this girl?s too-bright lipsticks and replace them with some lighter, softer shades. The eye makeup sucks too, and her hair is a f–king wreck. This is honestly one of her worst red carpet appearances ever.
As for Meryl, she couldn?t have looked any better in her Westwood gown. She actually took the time to have a proper fitting (hint to Christina). Meryl is also showing more boob than she usually does, and while I freely admit that Meryl has less boob to work with than Christina (and that does affect my opinion), Meryl?s cleavage isn?t assaulting my eyes. I also love Meryl?s little jacket. And her hair. And her makeup. And her beautiful face. Meryl won Best Actress last night at the BAFTAs too – for The Iron Lady. So maybe the Brits aren?t so mad at her for playing Thatcher after all.
