Taking a break from her Stateside digs, Christina Hendricks showed up in London, England for some media duties on Monday (August 4).
The crimson-haired actress donned a black jumpsuit with black heels and a dark red purse as she smiled for fans and shutterbugs on her way inside.
Ms. Hendricks recently told People that her talent agency kicked her to the curb when she signed on for her career-boosting role on ?Mad Men.?
Christina explained, "[My agency] said, 'It's a period piece, it's never going to go anywhere. We need you to make money and this isn't going to make money.' They ended up dropping me."
"I had been on several shows that were meant to be the big ones, that would go on forever, and they didn't. So there was no sure bet and I'd already taken a chance on them, and I felt, why not do the one you're in love with and take a chance on that?"

Supporting her pals, Christina Hendricks stepped out to the ?Magic in the Moonlight? premiere in New York City last evening (July 17).
The ?Mad Men? beauty brought along her handsome beauty Geoffrey Arend and struck a few poses for the press on the Paris Theater?s red carpet.
Also in attendance, was darling couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. Emma stars in the Woody Allen-directed flick alongside Colin Firth.
Per the synopsis, ?Magic in the Moonlight? is ?A romantic comedy about an Englishman brought in to help unmask a possible swindle. Personal and professional complications ensue.? It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26.

Here are some more assorted photos from the Cannes Film Festival. Yesterday, I covered the photocall from Lost River, Ryan Gosling?s directorial debut, and now I?m including some pics of the red carpet premiere. Here?s Christina Hendricks in a black and sheer Alberta Ferretti Fall 2013. I?m not sure how I feel about this ? on one side, it?s one of the better gowns she?s worn on a red carpet, although that?s setting the bar kind of low (sorry, Titsy). She looks good in black, her boobs are contained, the styling is decent. But on the other side? I just don?t like the dress that much.
Here?s Ryan Gosling at the premiere? the film is getting mixed reviews, to say the least. I don?t know why he didn?t actually wear a tie.
Gong Li = GODDESS. Do you know her age? She?s 48 YEARS OLD. Look at that face! Anyway, I?m including photos of Li at that Coming Home photocall (in black) and the premiere (in white Roberto Cavalli). I think the fit is slightly off in the Cavalli gown, but I like the back of the dress a lot.
Here?s Arlenis Sosa in a Julien Macdonald Fall 2014 gown. I?m not into this ? too many design tricks. Metallic, leg slit AND cutouts?
And here?s Liu Wen in a Saint Laurent strapless with a weird bustline. I?m not sure what?s happening with Saint Laurent these days, quite honestly. This one could have been stellar, but the execution is off.

Christina Hendricks covers the new issues of Health Magazine and Rhapsody Mag (the in-house mag of United Airlines). I actually like the photoshoot for Rhapsody ? good styling for Christina, right? The Health shoot is boring, so I only included the cover. Christina told Rhapsody that she sort of wants ?something horribly tragic to happen? to Joan, her Mad Men character: ?A terrible accident or something, because I think that would be interesting.? But in her Health interview, Christina talks about babies. Specially, how she doesn?t really want babies:
Her Mad Men character balances being a partner at the ad firm with raising a baby (whose secret father, viewers know, is silver fox Roger Sterling). Christina Hendricks, however, is content to pamper a furrier friend: her new dog.
?We got a puppy, and that?s my idea of starting a family. People say, ?Oh, that?s practice for parenting,? but if it?s practice for anything it?s to be a mom to another puppy,? Hendricks, 38, tells Health in their May issue, on stands April 18.
?We?ve decided that we are not really interested in having children.? She continues: ?It?s just very normal for people to say, ?Well, when you guys have kids ?? And then when I say, ?Actually, I don?t think we?re going to do that,? people will say, ?Oh, you say that now ?? It doesn?t bother me, though. And, you know, there?s a small chance I could change my mind.?
For now, Hendricks is busy bidding farewell to Mad Men?s Joan, the beautiful former secretary she calls ?incredibly blunt? and full of ?feminine power.? She has some time to say goodbye: The wildly successful AMC series is splitting its seventh and final season across two years.
Plenty of fans are sure to miss drooling over Joan?s quick wit and celebrated curves ? qualities Hendricks?s actor husband, Geoffrey Arend, 36, pegged as potential from the show?s start.
?Whenever we see something about it, he always says, ?I told you from the beginning. I?m the one who called it first,?? Hendricks told the magazine of her sexy image. ?So he just wants a little credit. Really, he?s sweet and he?s happy for me.?

I?m glad Christina has finally come out and said that she doesn?t think she?ll have babies. She was playing lip service to the whole baby thing for a while in interviews, not really going ?Full Aniston? but I definitely got the feeling that she wanted people to think that she was up for it. But sometimes you decide, ?Eh, maybe I?ll just get a dog instead.? There?s nothing wrong with that. In the past, I?ve thought that I might be up for kids sometimes but at the end of the day? I?d rather just be a dog-mom. That?s my choice. And I hate the subtle (or not-so-subtle) ?guilting? of the childfree too ? trust women to make their own choices about whether they want to become mothers.

Christina Hendricks covers the new online issue of The Edit (net-a-porter.com?s in-house magazine). She is talking about the end of Mad Men, and the final season which will premiere in just a few weeks. I?m okay with the Mad Men cast talking about ?the end? right now, but I wish they would remind people that the final season is being split into two section, the first section premiering in April and the second half to premiere?TBA? Sometime next year I think. So we?re going to have to go through all of this ?THE END OF MAD MEN? again next year, that?s my point. Anyway, you can read the full Edit interview here and here are some highlights:
Christina on Mad Men?s consistency: ?I am a TV addict. But so often I find a show that I get really excited about, and then by the second season I?m like, ?I don?t care anymore.? The consistency [in Mad Men] really is something to be proud of. And that is down to Matthew Weiner [the show?s creator] and his writing.?
Learning from Joan Holloway: ?It?s hard to tell. Are the things I?ve learned because of the show? Because of the character? Or is it just because eight years have gone by and I would have grown anyway? If you can?t learn or hope to gain some characteristics from playing a role for eight years, then you?ve missed an opportunity.? So what has she gained from Joan? ?I think some of her ability to bounce back after something horrible arrives in your life. That and her confidence.?
How she wants Joan to end: ?I want her to do the Thelma & Louise thing with Roger. Just go out with a bang. My fear is that Joan is going to turn off the lights of the office that night and just go home.?
The fashion and quality of Mad Men: ?It was never a question that viewers wouldn?t get it ? that combination of intelligent writing and amazing interior design, mixed with extremely well put-together fashion. I don?t think we?d seen men like Don Draper for a long time. And the women in tailored dresses? When the show came out, people were wearing jeans with their underwear out ? maybe one of the worst crimes in fashion we?ve ever had. I think people were craving that tailored sense of style.?
Christina?s personal style: ?I like clothes that are vintage-inspired and whimsical. You need some basics in your closet, but I always tend to go to the piece that has a sparkle on it, or a pearl.? Today, she is wearing brogues, a very un-Joan state of affairs. ?These flats hurt my feet more than heels,? Hendricks bemoans with a grimace. ?I?m good in a three-inch heel, that is the most comfortable for me.?

I?ve never been able to understand how heels are more comfortable than flats for some women, but I guess it happens if you, like, just LIVE in heels and that?s what your feet and calf muscles are used to. Christina also says that she?s ?put in a request for several items from Joan?s apartment that I would like to purchase, I?d like those reminders.? I?m not sure if Joan?s apartment really stands out that much for me. Don?s apartment? For sure. Even Peggy?s old apartment was pretty cute. What would I want from the Mad Men set? Let me think? I?d want some of the ashtrays, just because I would imagine they have so many laying around. I?d want some of the prop liquor bottles too. Oh, yes! I?d want some of the prop advertising mock-ups! Some of those mock-ups are awesome.
Anyway? as for this editorial? I?m not feeling it. I usually love The Edit?s photoshoots, but this is not Christina?s best look overall. I think it?s the hair?
