As one of the most beautiful women on television, it?s no wonder Christina Hendricks was tapped to introduce the brand new all-aluminum 2016 Jaguar XF in Manhattan?s Flatiron District today (March 31).
The ?Mad Men? actress wore a stunning red pantsuit and strawberry blonde coif as she made her rounds at the New York Auto Show, posing for photos and greeting guests.
Christina recently told The Weekly that while her TV character lives in the 1960s, she still sees the same kind of sexism in today?s setting. ?It still very much exists. It?s changing but it?s still very present. I?ve been in rooms where sexual innuendos are being made. Absolutely I have had to sit there while people are talking about things that have nothing to do with my accomplishments, or my professional achievements... I can absolutely relate to that. Luckily there are cool guys that don?t want to be part of it. But it is still a reality.?

I?m splitting up the photos from last night?s LA premiere of Mad Men, which they called the Black & Red Ball. Jon Hamm had some extra stuff, so I covered it in another post. This post is just for the other cast members! Unfortunately, my girl Elisabeth Moss wasn?t there. But Christina Hendricks got a lot of attention last night for her over-the-top Zac Posen ball gown. The skirt was massive? and then it wasn?t. She walked the carpet with the massive ball-gown skirt and then she detached part of it and the gown just became a sleek look. I like the gown more with the skirt detached ? it?s a cleaner, simpler look. It?s more flattering too.
January Jones seemed almost low-key in this Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2015. I like the idea of this more than I like the execution ? the midsection isn?t very flattering, right? And let?s be real: January has an amazing figure. You really have to try to make her figure look bad.
Kiernan Shipka is adorable. She?s growing up to be such a lovely young lady.
John Slattery is everything!
And finally, here?s Vincent Kartheiser, looking better than he has in years!! It helps that he?s months past shaving back his hairline to play Pete Campbell. The beard helps too. But he just looks happy all-over. I think his marriage to Alexis Bledel is really working out.

When I was in college, I went through a ?do-rag phase. I had a collection of vintage scarves and I would use them as headbands, ponytail binders or as traditional ?kerchief? ?do-rags. I left that phase behind. Nowadays I?m mostly in a low-ponytail phase, if I do anything to my hair at all. But Christina Hendricks is still experimenting with scarves and headpieces and such. Or whatever this is. These are pics of Christina at the Club Tacori Gentlemen’s Jewelry Collection Launch in West Hollywood yesterday. Christina wore Ralph Lauren trousers (I love those), a simple white Wes Gordon blouse and a Stephen Jones turban. InStyle is calling it a ?turban?. I?m not sure if it falls under the traditional definition of ?turban? though. Christina explained to InStyle:
?I?ve gotten very into turbans recently! I?ve liked them for a long time, and I feel like they?re making a comeback so they?re easier to find. I?m picking them up whenever I can find them. I like this one because it?s pre-wrapped so it?s like a hat, and all I have to do is flop it on my head. Plus, the golden yellow color is gorgeous. My style is a bit whimsical, a bit classic, and a bit romantic at the same time. I?m very experimental and I?ll try anything.?

Is this whimsy? Is this experimental? Or is this just kind of whacky and dumb? I?m kind of ambivalent. I?m not in love with this look on Hendricks, but I give her props for trying something different. So, are turbans the newest trend? Will turbans be big during the awards season?! Okay, now I?m actually hoping that this is the new trend. Some women can really pull off a turban look. But you know how it will go ? Julianne Moore will try it and then everyone will be like ?OMG STOP WITH THE TURBANS.?
I?m also including photos of Bellamy Young (she could rock the sh-t out of a turban) and Betsy Brandt, who should remain turban-less for now, but she was the best part of Masters of Sex Season 2!

Christina Hendricks arrived on the red carpet early so her red Marchesa dominated early fashion conversation. Some of you liked this Marchesa on her (I think CB liked it). I did not. One, it?s Marchesa which always looks cheap once you see the full-length look. I joked that bad, ill-fitting skirts were part of the Marchesa Signature, and here you go. I guess the dress is taffeta and that?s why the skirt looks that way? So, basically, this is a prom dress for the bustiest ginger in high school. I don?t mind the gold Neil Lane jewelry but I do mind the hair. This is not red carpet hair!!!
I do not understand how my favorite icy bitch and high-fashion drama queen January Jones got it so wrong. I think the mom bangs are throwing her off. The mom-bangs ? which she tried to make ?high fashion? by adding grease/product ? are the worst part of what is a pretty boring look. The gown is Prabal Gurung and I really don?t like it. The red is a weird shade, the train is too much and the fit is off in the bust (it?s sitting too low, probably because the skirt is too heavy). AND THE BANGS. Ugh. You changed, January.
Jessica Par in Lanvin. It?s a dress that manages to have a vintage flair while still being ?just another boring black dress.? I think it?s the girl wearing the dress, right? I?m so glad Jessica/Megan Draper is (SPOILERS) off of Mad Men now. Good riddance.
Kiernan Shipka is growing up! She?s a young lady now and she?s still showing child actors/teen actors how to do age-appropriate red carpet looks. Kiernan wore this Antonio Berardi ? very pretty.
Teyonah Parris looked fab – she plays Dawn, Don Draper?s former secretary and now the new office manager of SCDP. She really wanted to make a big statement and she did in this bright Christian Siriano gown. I really like this.

Showing off her gorgeous red locks, Christina Hendricks arrived up at the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards earlier tonight (August 25).
The ?Mad Men? star showed off her red carpet prowess in designer duds as she strolled inside Los Angeles? Nokia Theatre to catch all the action.
It?s anybody?s guess which stellar show will walk away with the highly-esteemed title of Outstanding Drama Series, given that ?Breaking Bad,? ?Downton Abbey,? ?Game of Thrones,? ?House of Cards,? ?Mad Men? and ?True Detective? are all in the running.
Meanwhile, the Outstanding Comedy Series? nominees include ?Veep,? ?Big Bang Theory,? ?Silicon Valley,? ?Orange is the New Black,? ?Modern Family? and ?Louie.?

These are photos of Christina Hendricks and John Slattery at the premiere of God’s Pocket. Christina’s dress at the premiere is Vivienne Westwood. I always feel like Vivienne can really style Christina’s body well. So many designers just push her boobs up and out, but Vivienne creates a silhouette that flatters the girls without making them look obscene. Christina works this dress like crazy.
Slattery directed this movie, which co-stars the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. His last few films feel like gifts for the public to unwrap. I still can’t believe he’s gone. Christina gets weepy about PSH in a new interview with The Guardian. She discusses a ton of other stuff here too. Christina talks more about how she’s not interested in having kids. She says she gets sexually harassed nearly every day “at work.” Oh, and she got dropped by her managers when she signed onto Mad Men. For real. I bet they feel pretty dumb right about now. Let’s do this:
On the positive response to Joan: “I guess I was surprised. I watched what people responded to in Joan, and she’s so many things, but I think it’s her strength, resilience and confidence. My agency dropped me when I first agreed to play Joan in Mad Men. I had been on several shows that were meant to be the big ones, that would go on for ever, and they didn’t. So there was no sure bet and I’d already taken a chance on them and I felt, why not do the one you’re in love with and take a chance on that?”
Sexism in Hollywood: “You know, it’s difficult in the arts to pinpoint it but there’s sexual harassment at work every single day, all day long. Certainly in the respect and position [of women], you feel like, ‘Am I allowed to ask these questions or contribute in this way?’ … Society has conditioned you that way. As women, we feel we can’t ask for things. There’s been a lot of research done recently and, more often than not, if a woman goes in to ask for a raise, she’ll get it. But she’s thinking, ‘Do I deserve it? I’ve got to give a list of why I deserve it.’ Whereas a man will just go in and ask for a raise. It’s so scary.”
On Philip Seymour Hoffman: “I was saying to my husband [the actor Geoffrey Arend] that sometimes when you have a friend who passes, it feels very, very final,” she says, and her eyes become filmy as she turns away and stares at the tablecloth. “But something about Philip … I keep thinking I’m going to see him again. I guess, when I watch the film now, I feel like it’s a celebration of him. I feel lucky to have gotten to work with him. I feel grateful and I feel sad.”
The last day of Mad Men shoots: “We didn’t want to leave. I don’t think it’s fully hit me yet … We [the cast] all know each other more than most people on Earth know each other. A lot has happened these eight years. A lot of us have gotten married, bought homes, had children.”
Did she ever want children? “I think in my mid-20s I did because I was moving around a lot and didn’t have that sense of community, of being rooted. I know plenty of people who don’t have children. And I also get a lot of people who say, ‘Thank you for speaking out, my family don’t understand why I don’t want kids.’”
She has an anti-anxiety dog: “Service dog. So she can travel with me on aeroplanes. She’s an anti-anxiety dog. She calms me down.”
On her lack of privacy: “There’s some horrible pictures of me chewing on meatballs [in London]. I’ve had more people come and say, ‘Do you mind if I take a picture because my friend will never believe it.’ Really? Why? Are you just a big liar? That’s always the justification or excuse for it because it’s not just a picture for them and their friend, it’s a picture they’re going to put on Facebook for their thousands of friends to look at.”
The journo starts to ask about her body: “Don’t do it,” she says firmly, before I even get to the end of the sentence. She smiles but it’s quite clear she means it. She finishes her raw steak and then places her knife and fork together on the plate. Just like Joan, there’s a steely underwiring beneath that pale-skinned, blush-cheeked exterior.

Christina also discusses more about how she was bullied in high school. I left that part out because people are tired of hearing celebrities talk about bullying. Her story does sound different than many. She wasn’t just teased but also spit upon and sometimes in fear of being pummeled. Christina knows how to stand up for herself now. Look at how she shut down that journo for trying to talk about her body. You go, girl.
Christina wore a Temperly London jumpsuit before the premiere. This look is flattering, but it’s nowhere near as fun as the Westwood dress.
