She?s always up for an industry shindig, and last night (March 12) Emma Roberts was spotted at the British Fashion Council?s London Show ?ROOMS LA? in West Hollywood.
The ?Hotel for Dogs? dame looked fabulous in a white blouse with a black floor-length skirt as she mingled with Jonathan Saunders and Jordana Brewster at Smashbox Studios.
In career news, Emma will be playing a lead role in a heist film set in a major Northeastern city in order to make the transition from child actress to fully-fledged adult superstar.
Roberts will star alongside Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson in ?Empire State,? under the direction of Dito Montiel, and based on a real event that happened back in 1982.

Yesterday, we heard that Emma Roberts and Chord Overstreet had broken up. They had been dating for? months, it seems. Nearly a year. As far as I could tell, it wasn?t like they even spent that much time together, which led me to believe that it was some kind of PR-driven relationship or bearding situation. Well, I?m not sure how this Us Weekly report falls into my preconceived notions of Emma and Chord, but if this is true, they were always a disaster of a couple:
Before they officially called it quits, Emma Roberts did everything possible to ice out Chord Overstreet, multiple insiders tells Us Weekly.
“Emma told Chord he didn’t need to spend New Year’s with her. It was just her and her girlfriends, a tradition she always does,” one source says. “Emma is pretty difficult to be in a relationship with.”
The 20-year-old Art of Getting By actress had been belittling Overstreet for months, another source says. “Emma calls him Chord — pronounced like chair — to his face,” a source told Us in November. “She acts like he’s really dumb.”
Things came to a head at Golden Globes after-party January 15, a third insider tells Us.
“Chord was waiting outside the CAA party at Sunset Tower waiting for Emma to come get him at the door.”
When Roberts ignored Overstreet’s text messages, he was overheard saying, “Emma does this all the time when she doesn’t want to see me.”
Glee’s Overstreet, 22, never made it inside the party — and Roberts was seen “crying and noticeably upset,” the third insider says. “Clearly they had a fight about her not coming out to get him.”
A fourth source close to the couple adds that Overstreet “is so nice and was such a good boyfriend. . . He was always so sweet.” On the other hand, a fifth source insists: “Chord was controlling and always wanted to know where she was at all times. Emma’s career is very important to her, but Chord wanted it to be all about him. She’s too young to be able to give someone that kind of commitment.”
The two stars were first spotted making out in April 2011 at the A|X Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine carnival in Indio, Calif.
“They’re both young kids, they had crushes on each other but the relationship ran its course,” a sixth insider tells Us of their breakup. “She isn’t and wasn’t looking for a serious thing.”

God, how much does Emma sound like her Aunt Julia? ?Emma is pretty difficult to be in a relationship with.? And ?She acts like he’s really dumb.? She learned it all from watching her Aunt Julia! Anyway, poor Chord. It will be interesting to see if he gets the same ?Alex Pettyfer treatment? that both Emma and Dianna Agron have implemented in the past to make themselves look like victims. The problem is that Alex Pettier (who dated both Dianna and Emma) actually seemed like a legitimate d-bag. I just don?t buy it about Chord – he just seems like a sweet, easy-going kid, perhaps not that bright, but harmless. Ah, Young Hollywood Dramz.

It?s a sad day for beards! Emma Roberts, entitled princess and niece of Julia, has broken up with Chord Overstreet, the boy from Glee. Yes, they were dating. I actually knew that, because as soon as they got together, they did a ?photo shoot? together at Disneyland or something, and it was really clear that this was just a professional ?relationship? – like Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens or something. Emma really tried to make this thing with Chord (I can?t with that name) happen, but? it just never ?took?.
Not-so-gleeful news. Chord Overstreet and Emma Roberts have split after 9 months together, two sources confirm to Us Weekly.
(JustJared was first to break the news late Monday that the Glee actor, 22, and Scream 4 actress, 20, had parted ways.)
The cute couple were first caught making out last April at the A|X Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine carnival in Indio, Calif., and finally went public in July with a stroll through London.
Roberts — actress Julia Roberts’ niece — once dated Hollywood bad boy Alex Pettyfer. Overstreet’s exes include Taylor Swift (he was her brief rebound last winter following her split from Jake Gylllenhaal) and Glee costar Naya Rivera.
What went wrong? “They’re both young kids, they had crushes on each other but the relationship ran its course,” one source explains to Us. “She isn’t and wasn’t looking for a serious thing.” Roberts, who partied solo in Sundance, is “back to having fun now.”
“He’s so nice and was such a good boyfriend,” another insider says of Overstreet. “He was always so sweet.”

Emma has been getting more press than usual lately – she went to Sarah Lawrence for a whole semester (not really), and then she ?deferred? (dropped out) because college is SO HARD and she wanted to pap herself in LA. I?m surprised the college thing wasn?t used as an excuse here – ?Emma was pursuing her education, and the relationship suffered? etc. Someone needs a better publicist.
Incidentally, just hours before the breakup was announced, Us Weekly had this story:
Even though Glee lost out to Modern Family for Best Comedy Series Ensemble at Sunday’s SAG Awards, the evening still proved to be a success for Chord Overstreet, who managed to meet his favorite esteemed actor!
The 22-year-old Glee star’s big moment came after the SAG Awards had wrapped inside Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, at one of the evening’s after parties.
“Chord Overstreet met Brad Pitt, his idol, and was ecstatic about it!” a source from inside the event tells Us Weekly. “People literally stopped in their tracks as Brad and [Angelina Jolie] walked by — you could overhear other celebrities talking about how beautiful and handsome they were.”

So Chord dumped his girlfriend shortly after he met Brad Pitt. That?s what I?m getting from this story. Take that as you will.

Back in August, Emma Roberts confirmed to Just Jared that she was giving up Hollywood for college. Sarah Lawrence College, to be exact – Sarah Lawrence is totally elite and private and a lot of really cool ladies have graduated from SLC. So I was happy for Emma! I generally think she?s a smug little brat, but I appreciated that she was at least attempting to get some experiences that didn?t involve red carpets, shopping and talking about her Aunt Julia. However, I also ended my post with ?Anyway, what are the odds Emma is just doing this to look brainy and intellectual and then she?ll be out of there as soon as she?s offered some parts?? Yep. I was right. Emma is ?deferring? SLC after one whole semester.
Sarah Lawrence College will be without its most famous co-ed this semester — Emma Roberts is deferring.
“She is taking time off to shoot two films,” Roberts’ rep tells Us Weekly.
The Scream 4 star and English lit major began her freshman year in September 2011.
When Us spoke to Roberts in November, the 20-year-old actress admitted she struggled to balance her busy schedule.
“It’s a lot,” Roberts admitted. “It’s more the traveling that’s the hard part, the going back and forth. I was just in L.A. and now I’m here in New York, and now I have to go back to L.A.”
What made Roberts decide to pursue higher education? “I just wanted to get away from everything for awhile and try something new, explore some other stuff,” she said.
Roberts — who’s still dating Glee’s Chord Overstreet — is slated to begin filming Spring Break (opposite Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez and James Franco) in early March.

Well, she put in a good effort? No, I can?t even say that. One semester isn?t a ?good effort.? She was there, at most, from mid-August to mid-December. I bet she?s been on film sets longer than that. Here?s an honest question I have about Young Hollywood: do any of them understand the value of taking time out from the Hollywood Race to actually go have some ?normal? experiences for several years? I get that they?re told (by their agents, by casting directors, by the voices inside their heads) that if they leave for a year, no one will remember them. But here?s another voice – it?s not like any of these young actors are turning in award-worthy work, you know? It?s not like they?re ?deferring? college to do important films. Maybe the Fanning sisters. MAYBE. Other than that, it?s just a bunch of, like, Disney kids who don?t want to leave the party.
PS? As I was looking through the photos we have of Emma, I noticed the strangest thing – she was, like, never in school last semester. She was photographed at parties, shopping, fashion shows, medical appointments, getting juice or coffee, all in Manhattan and LA. Dear Emma: All of this crap will still be there after you finish school.

Taking advantage of the year-end sales, Emma Roberts was spotted shopping in Los Angeles, California yesterday (December 29).
The ?Hotel for Dogs? actress hit up West Elm donning skinny jeans, a striped sweater, and brown sunglasses as she combed the racks.
During her retail romp, Emma took time to make a few calls on her iPhone, most likely to her hunky beau Chord Overstreet.
Of her own personal style, Emma told press, ?I think when you're young it's all about being comfortable. When I'm older, I'm probably going to have to look much more put together. At least that's what I imagine.?
?I like to be a little more disheveled - I like throwing on a motorcycle jacket with a gown because I'm young, and I can. When you're young it's much more fun to mix and match, do that kind of hobo-chic look.?

Opting for a healthy beverage, Emma Roberts was spotted at Pressed Juice in Brentwood, California on Saturday (October 22).
The ?Hotel for Dogs? actress looked to be in good spirits as she made her exit and encountered a few shutterbugs on her way back to the car.
As for her romance with Chord Overstreet, it seems Emma prefers to keep things under the radar and doesn?t fancy letting the public know the details.
An insider said the ?Scream 4? starlet and her beau are ?very undercover? about their love and are ?keeping to themselves.

I tend to think Emma Roberts is an entitled, smug little brat, but I keep holding out hope that she will eventually do some growing up, stop relying on nepotism, and begin to carve out her own identity separate from her Aunt Julia, and separate from Young, Privileged, Entitled Hollywood. Have my prayers just been answered? Emma confirms to Just Jared that she is currently headed to Sarah Lawrence College for her freshman year. She?s 20 - most incoming freshmen are still 18, right? I was 17 when I matriculated. Anyway, maybe Emma just wasn?t ?happening? in Hollywood, or maybe she (gasp) actually wants to learn something beyond ordering lattes and shopping. I think she should be applauded.

As for her plans for the future, Emma has revealed an exciting new chapter in her life, telling press that she's ready to head back to school!

With their relationship in full bloom, Emma Roberts and Chord Overstreet looked ever the happy couple during a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, California on Monday (August 15).
The "It's Kind of a Funny Story" actress and her "Glee" star beau were all smiles as they took to the magical theme park grounds while hopping aboard the Astro Orbitor attraction - which is a rocket-like spaceship ride through Tomorrowland.
The trip to Disneyland comes as Miss Roberts, 20, has been dating the 22-year-old actor since this spring, with their romance going public at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
As for the strong connection, the young couple both share a passion for music, with a source previously telling Us magazine, "They talk music -- Emma's starting a band. They're loving every second of being together."
