Katy Perry took a break from lounging in her California home to lounge around in a pool in Miami in a black bikini. Celebrities lead a tough life. I heard one time there weren’t lemons in Katy Perry’s ice water. Can you believe that?! Jennifer Lopez almost spat out her caviar in disgust when she heard about that. No lemons. *Scoffs*

Enjoying some well-deserved time off, Katy Perry took to the pool of her Miami, Florida resort hotel this afternoon (July 26).
The ?I Kissed a Girl? songstress wasn?t shy about showing off her killer form, sporting a black two-piece bikini as she caught some rays.
Perhaps Katy was celebrating the sale of her two-bedroom Tribeca apartment that she used to share with ex-husband Russell Brand.
On the market since February, Perry finally closed on the property, selling it for $2.62 million which is just about what she paid for it in 2010.

| Katy Perry in Marchesa at London 'Part of Me' premiere: awful & ice-capadey' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Katy Perry walked the red carpet last night for her London premiere of her Katy Perry: Part of Me 3-D movie, and her look wasn’t nearly as fashion foward as the slightly amazing red, strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore for the Los Angeles premiere. Here she wore a gold and white Marchesa dress, which is very Ice Capadey by nature. Perhaps Katy only wore this dress to impress Harvey Weinstein so that he’ll turn her into a real movie star, or maybe she actually likes this ugly thing. With Katy, one never knows — she’s clearly trying to work this dress, but it’s just such a terrible design.
Katy’s makeup was overdone as always, and her hair looked pretty cartoony and mushroom-like amidst a matching gold headband. So much makeup!
Meanwhile, here are some new details about Katy’s exploitation of her marriage and divorce within the movie. As we’ve already discussed, Russell asked that his likeness be removed from the film, but Katy said no way. Now Katy (within the movie footage) has inadvertently revealed some proof that a big reason for the split was that the couple possessed different ideas about starting a family. Russell was apparently in a huge hurry to have kids and, according to this piece from NY Daily News, was even thinking about baby names. Katy’s response to Russell’s musings was rather insensitive:
Fans see a different side of Katy Perry in the new film, Part of Me, which shows the bubblegum pop star breaking down backstage over her split from Russell Brand.
The documentary shows Perry, 27, at her emotional breaking point — collapsing in tears moments before she?s supposed to take the stage in Brazil. Brand, 37, filed for divorce in February, and Part of Me highlights the roughest part of Perry’s struggle to accept the broken relationship.
But the show must go on — and Perry, whose concert gear famously consists of bright, theatrical costumes and florescent wigs — graced the stage with a megawatt smile.
While Brand, a comedian, does appear in the flick, he pops in and out only in early scenes. Later, an exhausted Perry struggles to uphold the relationship, flying to see her husband in between sleepless touring.
A friend interviewed in the film notes that Perry “should be resting, but she wants to fly to wherever Russ is to show she cares. She’s running herself ragged.”
During another scene, Brand texts Perry, suggesting they name their children after Ronald McDonald. Perry, 10 years younger than her husband and not ready for a family, texts back: “Babies can’t have babies, and I’m still a baby.”
Conflicting desires about having children only added to the stress of a shared life spent in the spotlight, and — due to demanding travel schedules — often apart. Perry was on tour when Brand filed for divorce, and Part of Me includes the news of the announcement — and the singer?s subsequent heartbreak.
Later, Perry tells the cameras she still misses Brand. “I?m a romantic and I believe in the whole fairytale,” she says. “Love is a dream, but the reality is making it work. I did everything I could — but it’s still failed.”
[From NY Daily News]
See, that’s kind of a rude thing to text back to a husband when he’s getting all googly eyed over baby names. The problem isn’t that she didn’t want to stop her career to have children. That’s certainly Katy’s prerogative to feel the way she felt about children at this stage in her life. The issue is more that she did talk about wanting babies, and then she shut down Russell when he was all hopeful that they’d go forward with a family. Katy truly did pull a baby bait-and-switch with the guy. But maybe she’s correct in that she is a baby herself.
Naturally, Katy also had to put on some “quirky” airs at the London premiere too. Here she is freaking out with a Union Jack umbrella in hand.

With only a few days left until her big screen effort hits theaters, Katy Perry was back on the red carpet for the UK premiere of ?Katy Perry: Part of Me? in London, England on Tuesday (July 3).
Decked out in a cream body-hugging mini dress with golden lace detailing and tulle flare at the bottom, the "Firework" singer dazzled her way around the Empire Leicester Square venue while tweeting just prior to the European screening, "T'S THE ?LONDON? PREMIERE! Even my lashes are excited! See you soon!"
As for Miss Perry's theatrical offering, "Katy Perry: Part Of Me" is a documentary that chronicles her life on and off-stage.
Recently talking with Parade maagzine about the behind-the-scenes moments, the 27-year-old dished, ?There are a lot of things that are personally uncomfortable to show, especially me without makeup and completely bloated or crying. But I?ve realized that it?s time for me to show my audience that you don?t have to be perfect to achieve your dreams. Because nobody relates to being perfect."
Katy added, ...I?m okay with having bad dance moves. I?m okay with having horrible lower teeth. That?s what makes me me, and for some reason it?s worked out all right.?

| Katy Perry on her support for gay marriage: 'Thank God we?ve evolved' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Katy Perry covers this weekend’s issue of Parade magazine with a patriotic theme because of the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, which coincides with the release date for Katy’s sure-to-be annoying 3-D concert movie, Part of Me. Between Katy’s premiere looks and the fact that she’ll be trashing Russell Brand in the movie, I’m ready for this film to come out and then go away in very short order. Of course, Part of Me will sell millions of tickets, and this will only fuel Hollywood’s apparent, misguided desire to turn Katy into a movie star because she’s so pretty. In this Parade interview, Katy discusses various topics including why she insisted upon including her breakup in the film (and she gets in a little dig about “the universe“) as well as her thoughts on gay marriage:
On why she’s featuring her breakup in the movie: “I think if people walked out of the theater and that was completely avoided, they would be like, ‘Well, there’s an elephant in the room that’s still there.’ I like to go out there looking like a strong woman, because I am strong. But I am also a woman who goes through all kinds of problems and highs and lows. I wanted to show the complete spectrum.”
Despite being addressed in the film, the breakup is understandably a sensitive subject for Perry. She refers to it only as “the situation”-as in, “I’m very aware that it’s inappropriate to give too much away, and that really the situation is just between two people.” When it’s noted that she and Brand have been respectful of each other in the media, she responds cryptically, “The universe will have its way.”
Katy’s “musical collaborator” Bonnie McKee on “Wide Awake”: “When we wrote ‘Teenage Dream,’ it was really about your first love and how magical that is. I think Russell made her feel that way again, and she felt she had found the person she was going to spend the rest of her life with. And whenthat didn’t turn out to be what she’d hoped, it kind of made sense to talk about waking up.”
On her concert movie: “There are a lot of things that are personally uncomfortable to show, especially me without makeup and completely bloated or crying. But I’ve realized that it’s time for me to show my audience that you don’t have to be perfect to achieve your dreams. Because nobody relates to being perfect. … I’m okay with having bad dance moves. I’m okay with having horrible lower teeth. That’s what makes me me, and for some reason it’s worked out all right.”
On her reaction to Obama’s support of same-sex marriage: “I was really happy; I probably went down to West Hollywood and had a shot. I came from a different mind-set growing up, and my mind has changed. My viewpoint on all these things-equality for women, the choice to love anyone you want-hopefully, we will look back at this moment and think like we do now concerning [other] civil rights issues. We’ll just shake our heads indisbelief, saying, ‘Thank God we?ve evolved.’ That would be my prayer for the future.’”
On her patriotism: “Not to sound overly cheesy but I really appreciate the freedom we have in America-especially as a female.”
[From Parade]
I’m not sure whether Katy truly thinks her fans would be upset if she ignored the topic of her marriage or if she’s merely providing a lame justification for including it in the movie.
