Katy Perry appears in the latest issue of Hollywood Reporter to promote her upcoming 3-D movie, Part of Me. If you can believe it, Katy earned $44 million last year, which is even more than highest paid-actress Kristen Stewart’s $34.5 million paycheck. Naturally, Katy isn’t done grabbing your dollars by a long shot and is still capitalizing upon her divorce from Russell Brand, who requested to be removed from her movie, but Katy said no way. Now Katy has sat down for an interview with Hollywood Reporter (because she’s now a producer, yo), and discusses many things, including the short-lived “Kardsashian” marraige, but she’s essentially talking about herself. Here are some excerpts:
On the Kardashian wedding mess: “Nobody knows what really happened except the two people who are in it.”
She invested $2 mill in the Part of Me movie: “My frugal business manager, God bless him, was sweating, and I was like, ‘Please trust me.’ That’s kind of been the mantra I’ve said to everyone my whole life” ‘Trust me, I have a vision.’”
On songwriting: “Honesty has always worked for me. So if it ain’t broke, why f–ing fix it?” That transparency includes candid moments in the movie, which, two years ago, Perry readily admits she “wouldn’t feel completely comfortable with people seeing — me crying or looking like a hot mess. What was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eye sockets and not my false lashes just as I’m about to go up on that ramp and sing ‘Teenage Dream.’ I had to smack myself across the face and say, ‘These problems are my problems, they are not my audience’s problems, learn to separate that.’”
On her image: “People love the idea of a good girl gone bad, thinking that my parents were so strict and disowned me, but that actually wasn’t the case. Even though they don’t necessarily agree with some of the things I do, they love me as their daughter. That’s always been their perspective. I still have a spiritual base and a spiritual foundation. And my conversation with God is very open-ended. I pray for humility, honestly, because it’s very easy to be caught up in this world.”
Her hopes for the future: “I want to do something with my life. I want it to stand out like a sore thumb. I don’t want to just be like everyone else. I have never, like, gone outside of my body and seen myself, you know? And this is me seeing everything.”
She’s a homebody: Katy “insists she’d rather stay in than ‘go out and get twisted. … Because I probably have to wake up and work in the morning. And I have a lot more to lose.”
She’s going to open her own record label: “I’m preparing for it now.. And when this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?’”
Is she still “Teenage Dream” optimistic? “Absolutely. I still believe in love and marriage. I’ve just learned lessons along the way. I regret nothing.”

It’s interesting how Katy never mentions her new pseudo-hardcore goth image in this interview, right? I’ll assume that there was a purpose to this omission since everything in Katy’s (public) life is carefully calculated. And that’s not an insult either — her people are masters of manipulating audience perception.
Now let’s talk about his photoshoot just for a moment. Katy looks really demure and respectful here. The Hollywood Reporter really knows its stuff, right?

I may have underestimated the Canadians up there at the Much Music Video Awards, not only did they get Selena Gomez, but they also managed to convince Katy Perry to make an appearance. Well done. I?m not a prude. I know that?s the first thing a prude would say, so maybe I should just own it and move on. I?m not one of those pearl-clutchers who thinks that exposing children to a nip is some devastating, awful act. That being said, Katy Perry?s ?act? continues to piss me off. It?s not that she?s exposing her body – it?s the way in which she exposes herself, and the way she combines very cartoony, kid-friendly imagery with very adult and inappropriate imagery and themes. It bothers me that she combines everything.
These are photos of Katy at last night?s MuchMusic Awards in Toronto. I?ve looked through all of the photos, and I?ve gotten a sense of what the vibe for the show was like – much more kid-friendly than, say, the MTV Music Awards. The MTV Music Awards are for teenagers – MuchMusic is for tweens and younger. Justin Bieber was there, as was Carly Rae Jepsen, Selena Gomez and whoever your Canadian tween cousin would want to see.
Now, Katy changed outfits several times. One dress for the red carpet (the black and gold Vawk gown) is fine. She wore a few different outfits during the show, and then THIS happened:
Is she too exposed? Am I just overreacting to a concentration of crotch bedazzles, which give the shadowy effect of beav? No, I don?t think so. The Mail has more photos from the show, and it becomes clear that Katy?s bodysuit was WAY too see-through for a kids? show. So? am I overreacting? Did Katy do this because she?s desperate for attention? Did she just not realize how inappropriate her costume was?

Celebrating the best in the music industry, Katy Perry was among those turning up for the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada on Sunday night (June 17).
The 27-year-old pop star brought her unique look to the red carpet as she arrived at the annual tribute to top musical acts in a black Vawk frock with purple accents while readying to take the stage for a surely captivating performance.
As for the show, the 2012 MMVAs are being co-hosted by LMFAO while also featuring performances by top acts including Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Nelly Furtado, Hedley and Carly Rae Jepsen.
Meanwhile, Marianas Trench holds the lead with nominations in seven categories while Miss Perry is vying for two trophies in the International Video of the Year and UR Fave: International Artist fields.

Spending some quality time with her old man, Katy Perry was spotted at Dominick?s restaurant in West Hollywood last night (June 13).
Joined by proud papa Keith Hudson, the ?Hot N Cold? songstress looked gorgeous in a red floral print dress teamed with matching heels as she made her exit.
In a newly-released clip from Perry?s forthcoming film ?Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D,? her father (an evangelical pastor) explained his reaction to Katy?s decision to make ?I Kissed a Girl? her first single.
Keith explained, ?I was concerned because I thought my ministry after 30 or something years is over, but you know, never had a problem.?
Katy added, ?I think people like the idea of a good girl gone bad and they think that my parents have disowned me, but that's not the story at all.?

Celebrities at the City of Hope’s Music and Entertainment Industry Group honored Bob Pittman at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in LA on Tuesday. I have no idea what the hell all of that means but apparently it was important enough for Katy Perry to show up to dressed like she was going to an audition for The Great Gatsby.

Katy Perry attempted to go for the Twenties flapper vibe at last night’s City of Hope event at MOCA last night. I’ll say something nice — at least she’s (temporarily?) dumped the faux-goth look here. However, Katy looks to be wearing a satin, rose-colored nightie even though this was a full-length gown that probably cost thousands of dollars (not that she had to pay for it). I’m also assuming that she’s wearing a wig as well, but perhaps she could have removed the purple from her hair and taken out her hair extensions. It’s probably just a wig. Up close, her makeup is quite dramatic but Katy usually overdoes it in that department anyway, so that’s nothing new. I think that overall, Katy was going for glamour and “old Hollywood,” but instead she achieves “ill-fitting dress with boob spillage.” Those spaghetti straps must be made of steel to hold that rack up without any sort of aid in the brassiere department.
Meanwhile, here’s a bit of Katy-associated news from Russell Brand, who has appeared on a UK talk show with some uncharacteristically insensitive words about his failed marriage:
Russell Brand may have lost a sexy-superstar wife when he divorced Katy Perry but according to the star that most difficult part of the break-up was “the admin.”
Speaking on Lorraine about the couple’s split after just 14 months last December the Rock Of Ages star said: “I suppose a divorce is difficult isn’t it, because of the admin! There’s a lot of admin.”
He went on to claim that he didn’t see his marriage as a failure because it was “really good” while they were together. “It did work out in a way because you are married for some time, and that’s really good, and then you’re not married, and that’s really good,” he explained. “You just have to have acceptance of things. She is a person that I love, but now this is a new time.”
When Lorraine added that she thought they were well suited, the 36 year-old admitted that while they did love each other he was looking forward to the future. “Well we were for that amount of time, and now this is a new time.” he added.
It wasn’t as easy for Katy though, who recently admitted that she had found the heartbreaking split “tough.”
Russell went on to reveal that yoga was helping him to move on with his life: “I don’t want to sound like a lunatic, but if you meditate and do yoga you become attuned to that there is different energy that’s constant and very, very beautiful. Some people would call it God, some people would call it karma or the cosmos, me – I call it sexual charisma.”

A lot of you might think Russell sounds rude during this interview while talking about the paperwork being the biggest hassle of the divorce, but at least he’s not the one who walked in and signed with a happy face. So bottom line is that they’ve both been douches to each other, but I still think Katy is slightly douchier for being so flippant about legal proceedings.
Anyway, back to this disaster of a dress, which does nothing for Katy’s (admittedly pretty great) figure. Although this “flapper in front of a trailer” shot is a nice touch, don’t you think?

Out spending a night on the town, Katy Perry was seen leaving 'The Dove Pub' in the Broadway Market of London, England on Wednesday evening (June 6).
The "California Girls" songstress sported her always unique style with vivid purple hair and a teal dress embellished with a crucifix on the chest as she made her way out of the pub after partying with her rumored boyfriend and Florence + The Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd.
Switching to career news, we all know the 27-year-old can conquer the music business even starring in a new film "Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D," but now the pop sensation is taking another route in entertainment.
On Wednesday, Bluewater Publications confirmed the news that Miss Perry would be the newest celebrity depicted in their comic book series "Fame." In the new comic titled, "Fame: Katy Perry," it depicts the pop sensation's early life growing up in a Christian home and follows her on her way to hitting it big.

I’m sorry, that title was just linkbait. Katy Perry didn’t go nude nude for her Part of Me3D movie. Well, she did, but in this case nude means makeup free. As in she didn’t spackle five pounds of product onto her face. She looks way different. Not to say that she looked terrible or anything. When you get used to something for years, a sudden change like this is going to be jarring. Sort of like when I stopped standing outside of Katy’s window every night. She didn’t miss me per se but my shadowy figure on her front lawn gave her a strange sense of comfort.

Katy Perry has done the unthinkable and appeared completely (?) make-up free in a new video for her upcoming Part of Me 3-D concert movie. Unlike the movie’s trailer, it sure looks like Katy’s entirely bare-faced in this promo, which is a far cry from both her overly underdone “minimal” music video Marine look as well as Katy’s usual excessive war paint and drag-queen makeup tendencies. Here’s the video clip, and it’s actually rather endearing to watch if one ignores Katy’s quirky face pulling:
See? She looks like of cute here and much better than I expected after Russell Brand posted that really awful photoon Twitter of Katy waking up from a nap. While I really like Russell, that was a d-ck move. Here Katy looks so much younger without all of those false eyelashes and piled on face paint. While I understand her need to do so onstage, she could easily afford to go a bit more casual on a day-to-day basis. Considering how much makeup Katy usually wears though, she looks surprisingly decent here though, right?
