Getting together all of her closest pals, Katy Perry hosted a Labor Day house party at her Hollywood home on Monday (September 2).
Looking colorful for the final days of summer, the "Roar" songstress sported a sunflower-embellished outfit while sipping on a beer and chatting with fellow party-goers.
In other news, Katy has been busy promoting her new tune on Twitter while interacting with her millions of followers.
Dishing news on another upcoming project, Perry wrote, "THE #ROAR MUSIC VIDEO IS COMING TO YOU IN JUNGLESCOPE SEPT 5TH!"

Wearing a green peplum number, the stripes created a mesmerizing optical illusion from a distance, making the Roar singer look as if she was radiating some sort of magical energy… and she probably was!!

She closed the 2013 MTV VMAs with "Roar" and later on in the evening, Katy Perry got a shout-out and plug from the Commander in Chief himself.
After promoting the President's message about affordable healthcare, Barack Obama's Twitter account posted, "Thanks for spreading the word. #ROAR MT @katyperry: RT @BarackObama: Get affordable coverage starting Oct. 1."
Beyond stoked, the "Firework" singer tweeted, "Happy to do my part, PREZ!" and "YO what a day! #ROAR-ing @ the #VMAs, Tweeting w/POTUS, & now happy to announce U chose #DARKHORSE FT @therealjuicyj to come out Sept 17th!"
However, someone may want to tell her that the account is run by his Organizing for Action staff and not the President himself.

I kind of feel bad for Katy Perry right now. In her mind, last night was supposed to be “her” night and big return to pop-star glory. Katy had really worked hard for this moment, you know? All those magazine covers and vitamin regimens, and the VMAs were supposed to be her big, post-divorce return with a performance under the Brooklyn Bridge, but no one paid attention at all to Katy’s “Roar” because of Miley Cyrus’ antics.
Katy tried her hardest to be a hot mess though with this leopard-print Emanuel Ungaro dress that fit every nook and cranny on her body, and Katy also went with her usual flattering high ponytail (she’s one of the few who looks good with a Croydon facelift), but it just didn’t matter. Then Katy whipped out the final (inadequate) weapon in her arsenal last night: a rainbow-colored grill. For real.
Miley Cyrus didn’t win a single Moon Man statue last night even though she was nominated for four awards and completely dominated the stage show with her gross antics. I guess MTV is content to let her grab some ratings, but when it comes to handing out rewards, they’re all, “Focus on the music next time.” Of course, I say that like MTV has standards and hasn’t become the “Catfish” channel.
In sharp contrast to her onstage vinyl wedgie of doom, Miley’s red carpet outfit wasn’t bad at all. She wore vintage Dolce & Gabbana in the form of a bejeweled, black crop top and pants, and if she had just kept this vibe going for the entire show, I think people would like her better right now. Instead, she has graduated to fameho extraordinaire.
Selena Gomez looked absolutely fantastic in Versace, and she managed to look both sexy and sophisticated. From a distance and with a front view, the dress looks rather subdued, but the navy really flatters Selena’s coloring and sleek hairdo. Upon closer inspection though, the dress is a lot more revealing with an intricately detailed and exposed bustier and a sexy side slit all the way up the right thigh. She’s so gorgeous!
Selena also grabbed the coveted Moon Man for “Best Pop Video” away from Miley. Selena won for “Come and Get It,” which wasn’t a good video at all and was mildly offensive to the East Indian culture, but I’m just happy that Miley’s antics haven’t earned her all of the rewards that she so desires.
Rita Ora looked surprisingly washed out in her humongous Alexandre Vauthier Fall gown with a huge, egg-shell blue train made of feathers. The look was meant to present straight-up drama with a plunging neckline and tons of embellished crystals on the top half of the dress, but Rita gets lost in the gown. Her makeup is blah, and this train is wayyyy too much.
I keep trying to figure out why Allison Williams is at all these music awards shows lately other than the fact that she is Katy Perry’s BFF, but Allison did present an award last night (with Joseph Gordon Levitt), so I guess that’s good enough of a reason. Allison didn’t exactly make an impact on the red carpet though because she seemed out of place in an elegant (and embellished) white Valentino dress. This seems like something she would wear to a premiere or screening, not to a “wild” MTV show. In a sense, I guess that makes Allison the true rebel of the evening.

Joining the ranks of other fellow A-list celebs including Kanye West and Lady Gaga, Katy Perry was announced as a performer at this year's MTV Video Music Awards on Monday (August 12).
Giving eager audience members and viewers at home something to be excited about, the 28-year-old songstress will be belting out her new single, "Roar," for the first time ever live.
Speaking of the new song, Miss Perry just released the lyric video to the tune earlier today when she took to Twitter, writing, "READY? IT'S TIME TO OFFICIALLY LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG."

Kicking off the week with some media duties, Katy Perry headed over to the Z100 radio station studios in Manhattan on Monday morning (August 12).
The ?Firework? singer received a warm welcome from some eager followers and stopped to pose for photos and sign autographs before scurrying inside for her interview.
Katy has begun promoting her newly-released single ?Roar? from her forthcoming album Prism, due to hit stores October 22nd.
Over at her Twitter page, Katy dropped a lyric video along with the message, ?Now YOU can #ROAR louder than a lion too! Lyric video starring Myself, Kitty Purry & some of my closest buds here.?

He?s conquered his vocal issues and is already back on tour, and John Mayer has a special surprise in store for his fans when his new album Paradise Valley hits stores.
The ?Half of My Heart? crooner invited his on/off girlfriend Katy Perry to add some flair to his track ?Who You Love,? while R&B singer Frank Ocean makes a guest appearance on ?Wildfire.?
Earlier this year, John sang Ocean?s praises in a Rolling Stone interview- "Frank is such an interesting, deep, touched, wonderful guy. They don't make a lot of other Frank Oceans, and the guy is looking for another. And the way that his mind works is craving the same frequency that he's able to communicate on, and I think he's just searching for that kind of depth that he has inside of himself in someone else. He's fascinating to me. He's so great."
During the same chat, Mayer made a roundabout comment regarding his feelings for Ms. Perry- "I'm quite happy. I'm happy in all aspects of my life. I'm very happy in all aspects of my life."
Paradise Valley is slated to drop on August 20th.
