I have to giggle just a bit at poor Amanda Seyfried at last night’s Critic’s Choice awards because, just a few days ago, the actress confessed that her publicist often tells her what dresses to wear on the red carpet. Amanda also added that she usually hates these selections, and the situation usually escalates into a fight, which is followed by Amanda quickly backing down, bucking up, and wearing whatever it is that she is told to wear.
Such is the case with this blue-black Marios Schwab gown that ran with the overrated “see through” lace look on the top with a drapey, crepey shirt that looked like blue seaweed settling around Amanda’s legs. Amanda truly looks like she does not like this dress at all, and I would almost feel sorry for her except that she needs to stand up for herself and make her own decisions on red carpet attire. The cut of this dress is so weird, and the fabric doesn’t settle well around the bust area, but that could be because Amanda is slouching in an attempt to rebel against the sheer awfulness of the dress. Honestly, the only good thing about her outfit are the Roger Vivier black, strappy heels, which isn’t saying much. Amanda does, however, pull off the dramatic eye makeup and gorgeous bun (she has such a great face shape) quite well.
Leslie Mann looked like a Pepto Bismol nightmare on the red carpet last night. This carnation Pink dress by Honor had an offbeat, kicky silhouette with a fitted top over a bubble-shaped skirt, but Leslie doesn’t really have the pluckiness to pull this look off in any color, save for black. Her flat-ironed hair, while gorgeous enough on its own, seemed an odd choice for such a young-looking dress. This was definitely one of the worst looks of the evening.
Emmy Rossum looks amazing here. I actually like this midnight blue, star-themed dress! This is a Carolina Herrera gown, and even though I’m not usually much for hugely ornate, overly embellished details, this dress just looked like a dream on Emmy. The gown itself moved beautifully, and I love the star-printed overlay over the whole dress and the way the belt emphasized Emmy’s tiny waist. Her makeup looked a little bit waxy, but the hair was just romantic enough to be perfect.
Eva Longoria wore this Monique Lhuillier “hourglass” gown, and I have to say that this dress looks like raspberry-colored crepe paper glued over what would otherwise be an uneventful, shapeless flow of fabric. There’s something about the cut of the high-neck/collar area that bugs, but I can’t put my finger on it. I also think she Eva could have gone with a bolder lip color and played down the eye makeup just a bit.
Molly Sims did herself no favors with this drapey, tent-like dress at all. While I ordinarily would give her a break because she just gave birth early last summer, Molly has been pimping a bunch of workout videos from her fraud trainer, Tracy Anderson. So why did Molly choose to wear an ugly, unflattering tent on the red carpet? Her hair looks lovely, but the makeup is way too severe and clownlike.

While promotingLes Miserables on Conan, Amanda Seyfried somehow got into a conversation about her other movieDeepthroat, a biopic about deepthroat queenLinda Lovelace. The always inquisitive Conan O’Brien asked how one makes a film about a X-Rated genre not X-Rated.Simple, Seyfried explained. For example, when Linda Lovelace deepthroats a penis she makes slurping noises. Amanda had to recreate the sound by sucking on a Popsicle which left her lips wet and inflamed… and, excuse me, I have to leave, I have a gigantic erection right now.

She?s never been shy about her sexuality, and Amanda Seyfried didn?t hold back during her interview on ? Conan? last night (December 17).
The ?Mama Mia? actress chatted about her role in the upcoming biopic ?Lovelace? in which she played the lead role of Linda Lovelace, the porn star.
Amanda explained to Conan that although the subject matter was quite explicit, she never actually did anything for real.
?We simulate these things. And we don?t show any genitalia. For instance, Linda Lovelace is famous for ?Deep Throat? so I had to do some oral sex so we would use a popsicle which was great because it would make my lips wet and inflamed. Honestly, I can?t believe I went that far just now. I?m sorry.?
A breathless O?Brien declared, ?My soul left my body. There?s a Conan up on the moon right now.?

| Amanda Seyfried 'wouldn't lose weight for a role' b/c she's 'too health-conscious' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Amanda Seyfried covers the January issue of InStyle magazine to promote her role as Cosette in Les Miserables. For the cover shot, she wears a powder blue dress that, while lovely, reminds me very much of the frosting on a baby shower cake. I do like cake, but I’m not really into baby showers even though I suffered through one of my own over a decade ago. Amanda’s face also looks a bit photoshopped here as well, which is strange because she doesn’t need the enhancement at all.
Amanda’s interview with InStyle is actually somewhat noteworthy, which is odd because she’s terribly socially awkward and tends to clam up quite a bit. What she does say leads me to believe that perhaps she and Anne Hathaway aren’t exactly great friends, but I could be imagining things. She and Anne wouldn’t have had any scenes together in Les Mis, right? Amanda does play Anne’s grown daughter, but I believe that (mild SPOILER ALERT for those who haven’t read the book) Fantine died while Cosette was still rather young and before Amanda took over the role in the movie. Also, I could be imagining the bit of passive-aggression that I’m sensing from Amanda when she discusses how she’d never, ever lose weight for a movie role. Is this a subtle dig against Annie’s Oscar campaign? I’m probably making too much of it, but I do know that Amanda appreciates the hell out of Channing Tatum because she readily admits as much. Here are some excerpts:
On working with Channing Tatum in Dear John: “Channing was amazing. He’s a superstar. Everybody wants to have sex with him. And the only person he wants to have sex with is his wife, Jenna [Dewan-Tatum]. He’s the most loyal husband.”
She’s unlucky in love: “I’m just more attracted to actors. I like their choice to be artists–that’s ballsy. And a guy who has such access to his emotional life is sexy… Maybe I’m so attracted to actors because I?m not ready for the ‘settled down’ thing yet. The thing is, I can’t date anybody without it being portrayed as a serious relationship in the tabloids. It sucks! Like Josh Hartnett and I were friends; we hung out, we dated. I don’t actually have sex with every male I come into contact with,” she says.
She’d have cut her hair for the Fantine role: “I would have done that for sure. I probably wouldn’t lose or gain weight for a role, though. I’m too health-conscious. And I don’t think I could actually lose weight because I couldn’t be on that kind of a diet. I would lose my mind.”
On going nude for Lovelace: “It’s not about my body. It’s not about me,” she says of doing nude scenes. “You’re playing somebody else. You’re not going to believe a love scene if the people are dressed. You’re not going to believe a stripper who has on a bra and underwear the whole time. At the same time, it has to do with how comfortable you are with letting people see your skin. For me, I’m okay with it.”
She takes Lexapro for her OCD: “I have to do lots of things at the same time. It’s an obsessive-compulsive thing,” says Seyfried, who takes Lexapro to control her OCD. (Example: When she?s on the elliptical machine at the gym, she?s also knitting, playing Soduku, and listening to music. “I don’t feel like I’m struggling with it. I think OCD is a part of me that protects me. It’s also the part of me that I use in my job, in a positive way. The only thing I’d like to get beyond is my fear of driving over bridges and through tunnels. I can’t overcome it.”
[From InStyle]
Aha! Now we know why Josh Hartnett and Amanda ended their canine-centered romance — it wasn’t because she was super clingy or cheating with Dominic Cooper. She wouldn’t give it up to Josh! Amanda has previously spoken about how she’s terrified of being promiscuous, but I didn’t know she was this serious about it. If anyhing, this makes me feel better about Amanda because if she didn’t give it up to Josh, then she probably didn’t bang James Franco either. If you haven’t already gathered, I’m of the opinion that no one should give it up to Franco. Ever.
The OCD stuff is interesting too. I’ve previously spoken about my allegiance with Howie Mandell in regards to germ-obsessed obsessions and compulsions. But it sounds like Amanda has a very different form (and there are many) of the disease. It also seems like the affliction doesn’t bother her much at all, and the medication helps a lot. Good for her.

| Amanda Seyfried in lilac McQueen at Sun Military Awards: luminous or boring? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last night, Amanda Seyfried attended the Sun Military Awards in London along with her Les Miserables co-star, Eddie Redmayne, hot on the heels of Wednesday’s hot mess of a premiere. Amanda’s dress is Alexander McQueen, and this particular shade of lilac seems to wash her out. The gown is also a bit loose and could have been fitted more for some va-va-voom. I was surprised at the recent consensus of Amanda as “pale and interesting” rather than boring in her recent Vanity Fair shoot. In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter (also featuring Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman, whose comments I’ll cover in a separate post), she and Eddie bring back the boring. Here are some excerpts:
Amanda on the extreme conditions on set: At one point, the heat inside the studio caused Seyfried to faint. “There was a physiotherapist on the set, and my neck had been hurting for four day. I asked if she could work on it, and she said, ‘I have needles [for acupuncture].’ She put two needles in my neck and two in my hand.” Moments later, Seyfried was called on set, with the needles still in place. In her heavy clothes, she ‘had a terrible feeling’ and ‘woke with Russell [Crowe] holding my feet and Hugh [Jackman] massaging my neck.’”
Eddie on being carried through the sewers by Hugh:
“That’s what my girlfriend said: ‘Tell me about being carried in Hugh Jackman’s bicep! What was that like?’ What Hugh had to go through was insane. He’s an extraordinary leader, and we all committed to his level. But it?s very physical. How do you protect your voice? Tom also gave us great freedom to stop thinking about it: ‘If crying blocks up your nose, do that. Let the exertion affect your voice.’”
[From Hollywood Reporter]
I know, I know. It’s not terribly interesting stuff when it comes to an interview featuring Amanda. Still, that acupuncture story freaks me out a lot. I know that a lot people say that it’s a particular form of alternative medicine that works wonders, but I can’t even imagine trying to be calm with needles protruding out of my skin. The mere thought gives me the creeps.
I’m only including this particular photo of Amanda because she actually happens to look less than perfect. Sure, it’s mean for me to post this picture, but she’s just so damn gorgeous that I feel the need to shake things up a bit.

After those pictures of Isla Fisher at the Les Miserables premiere we had earlier, here’s the main event: Amanda Seyfried. For a girl who usually keeps her cleavage hidden, this is a pretty rare occasion, like a solar eclipse, or me putting on pants before 3 PM. So make sure to really take it all

Amanda Seyfried appears in the December issue of Vanity Fair in a gorgeous photoshoot that VF has just made available online. She’s currently promoting her roles in both Les Miserables and Lovelace, which are two movies that probably couldn’t be more different. Oddly enough, VF describes Amanda as “very pale and very interesting” (which seems like a strange way to describe an actress, right?) The shoot shows her draped in various couture outfits including some selections from Valentino, Dior, and Elie Saab. Mostly, this post is about eye candy because Amanda is so seriously beautiful, but she arrives with very little gossip fodder, so this is merely a chance to ooh and ahh over pretty clothes. Also, this dog is pretty damn cute.
There’s also a brief interview to go along with the shoot, and it’s not terribly interesting stuff, but Amanda does say a few mildly amusing things about Hugh Jackman and going down on a popsicle. Don’t worry — those two topics do not belong together at all. Here are some excerpts:
On shooting Mean Girls: “Back then I thought every movie that was made found an audience and things were all stars and butterflies,” she sighs, “before I developed a relationship with this world.”
On working with Hugh Jackman in Les Mis: “There is nothing bad to say about Hugh. He isn’t human. I bet you anything he’s got some kind of superhuman capabilities, beyond just being just the kindest, gentlest soul I?ve come across.” Plus, she says, he has a wildly inappropriate sense of humour, which she shares. Together they invented alternative story lines that transformed their characters’ tender relationship into something altogether less innocent, like the old Renault “Papa!” and “Nicole!” ads gone wild. “We sexualized everything as much as we could. It was really funny, the moments we could find . . . It’s like every movie has another version, another satirical version of itself.”
On the challenges of Lovelace: “We were doing a scene where I was supposed to be going down on Peter Sarsgaard. We used a popsicle, and I had my arms covering the popsicle. It was footage that he was going to show the Deep Throat guy, to get her into the movie, to get her cast. I was laughing hysterically throughout. I couldn?t stop laughing.”
[From Vanity Fair]
I wonder exactly what Lovelace will do for Amanda’s career. This isn’t the same movie that once starred Lindsay Lohan (that was Inferno and went on to cast Malin Akerman), so it’s probably not quite as trashy as any pic that involved itself with a Lohan. Still, playing a pr0n star seems like an unconventional choice for Amanda Seyfried, who does best in romantic comedies, musicals, and weepy Nicholas Sparks films. Oh well, here’s some more clothing pr0n!

I haven’t seen Amanda Seyfried in a while, but I thought I remembered her boobs being way bigger than this. She always keeps them hidden though, so it’s hard to tell. I’m hoping it’s just an optical illusion from the dress. I know all those vertical lines can mess with your eyes. I guess we’ll
