The photo above is of Amy Adams at the Arrival premiere this weekend. Amy brought her husband Darren Le Gallo and daughter Aviana to the premiere. Amy wore Versace from their 2017 Spring Collection. Don?t let that photo fool you, the dress is a trainwreck. I kind of liked it from this side view ? nice colors, interesting variety of fabrics, great fit. But from the front it looks like the dress is trying to morph into several other dresses and the result is an ocular migraine. Amy knows this too because it was very hard to find a full front photo of the dress. She is turned sideways in most of them.
Arrival is getting excellent reviews and might bring Amy a sixth Oscar nomination. Or maybe a seventh because she?ll get her sixth for Nocturnal Animals – seriously she is such a great actress. She always turns in an impressive performance, whether it is a fun film like Enchanted, a sexy film like American Hustle or a quiet but powerful drama like Junebug. Amy is usually singled out in any film she?s in. The irony is, it took changing her hair to make her stand out. During her TimesTalk on Wednesday, Amy said her career took off after she dyed her blonde hair red when she was cast on Rob Lowe?s Dr. Vegas T.V. show in 2004.
Amy Adams, the five-time Academy Award-nominated star of stage and screen, owes her acting career to being a redhead.
The actress spoke at the New York Times-hosted TimesTalk event on Wednesday, where she revealed that changing her hair color from strawberry blonde to red dramatically influenced her chances of getting cast in films.
?Based on roles that I was getting, called in for, people were responding to certain types of characters with me as a blonde and the minute I went red, it was quirky and fun instead of flirtatious and dumb,? Adams, 42, revealed.
?It was great, I liked that. But in all seriousness, it?s just hair color. It was really fascinating to see just one element of yourself change people?s perception and that became a very powerful tool for me even in my acting,? the mother of one continued.
?If you can change one very small thing and create an entirely different perception to the outside world based on one thing, and that was actually an important lesson for me to learn, I didn?t quite get that before then,? she said.
?It really changed things up. People began to see me in a different way, for different roles? Adams continued, adding, ?I don?t know if I can give credit to just the hair color, but maybe it did help people see me past blonde.?
[From People]
Amy has talked about how changing her hair color affected her career before. I don?t think it?s just a talking point for her, though, I think the psychology behind it genuinely fascinates her. I read her comments as she is grateful that her hair color opened some new doors to her but it was bittersweet to realize how much people rely on appearance to judge someone. She?s not wrong, though, is she? I form opinions on characters based on certain stereotypes when watching movies. I wonder how many of those assumptions bled off-screen within the industry, though? I think that?s what Amy is really trying to say. And I love that she used that to layer her characters. She is very smart with her portrayals; it’s not always obvious why your love her performance so much.
Amy told Graham Norton that they are developing Disenchanted, the sequel to Enchanted. I have no idea where the sequel will go but I?ll still go see it. I?m a sucker for fairy tales and Amy. I just realized I never showed my kids Enchanted. I wanted them to be familiar with the Disney films being parodied before they saw it. Guess what I am doing tonight???

Here are some photos of Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of Arrival, their sci-fi film about aliens coming to earth and trying to communicate with us. Amy is the star and Renner is supporting, which he seems fine with. It seems like he?s trying to revamp his image a little bit after coming across like a sexist jag last year. The 2016 version of Renner is woke? or at least slightly more woke than his completely un-woke 2015 self. Anyway, that convoluted explanation is just my way of trying to figure out why Amy and Jeremy are on a tour of mutual admiration throughout the summer and autumn film festivals.
Amy?s dress in these photos is Valentino. I like it? for the most part. The deep-V needs a better fit because many were concerned that Amy?s girls were going to pop out at any moment. The bottom part has the butterfly graphic and it?s really pretty. I would love to have a sheet set that looked like this.
As for Amy and Jeremy?s thoughts on the election, Amy has said before that she?s obsessed with reading about politics this year in particular. On the red carpet, both actors responded to the Donald Trump tape.
Hollywood star Amy Adams has admitted she was left ?stunned? by the leaked tape of Donald Trump making obscene remarks about groping women. Walking the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of her new film Arrival, Amy told the Press Association: ?I just love my news updates, I?m tied to my Google Alerts. It?s pretty remarkable. I think we are all stunned.?
She added that the themes of unity in her movie, in which she plays a professor of linguistics enlisted by the US government to decipher the language of extraterrestrials who have made contact, seem even more relevant as a result of the election campaign.
She said: ?Probably more so than when we started filming. We started filming over a year ago and now I feel with everything going on in the world, throughout Europe and the politics that are happening in the States right now, there is so much fear and it?s nice to be reminded that hopefully we can come out of that fear together to a bigger solution.?
Amy?s co-star Jeremy Renner, who plays the scientist who accompanies her character on a mission to determine the purpose of the alien visit, branded the situation in the US ?a debacle?, and added: ?Let?s get united on ideas and principles of humanity. That?s my takeaway of the movie, the strength we have when we are united rather than how terrible humanity can be when divided.?
He also backed his old friend for the top office, saying: ?I?m blessed to work with a woman I respect and admire, she is the main reason I wanted to be part of this movie. How about Amy Adams for president? I?ll be her VP!?
[From The Irish Examiner]
We could do a lot worse than Amy Adams as president. Think about it ? she might seem meek and goody-two-shoes, but she would be tough where it counts. She could do better than Renner as VP though.

Amy Adams has two films out this fall/winter: Arrival and Nocturnal Animals. Amy is getting amazing reviews for both performances. She?s done back-to-back film festivals too ? last week, she was in Venice, where her director Tom Ford picked up a directing award for Nocturnal Animals. Now she?s in Toronto for TIFF, and once again, critics and fans are going crazy for her films. There?s a lot of conversation that this might finally be ?her year,? the year where all of the stars align and she finally wins an Oscar. But for which performance?
For now, let?s just talk about fashion. A few night ago, she did the TIFF premiere of Nocturnal Animals. That?s the white Tom Ford dress. I think we can assume that if Amy does a full Oscar campaign for Animals, Tom Ford will dress her throughout. And that makes me happy, because while I love Amy, she has (historically) needed the help for red carpets. I?m also including photos of Amy at last night?s TIFF premiere of Arrival, those are the red-dress photos. If anyone?s got an ID on that dress, I would be grateful. I don?t think it?s Tom Ford? I love a redhead in red, but I?m not crazy about the giant necklace thing. It?s TOO big.
When asked about a potential Oscar campaign this year, Amy laughed off the speculation, saying: ?I don?t worry about campaigning. The only campaign I?m worried about right now is the presidency.? You can read more of her THR interview here.

Here are some photos from the big premiere of Nocturnal Animals at the Venice Film Festival. Nocturnal Animals is Tom Ford?s second feature film following the surprisingly great A Single Man back in 2009. Ford was patient and he waited for the right project, and that project was Nocturnal Animals. The reviews are good-to-rapturous and coming out of Venice, Amy Adams is well-positioned to have another great run during the awards season. The plot of Nocturnal Animals is too complicated to summarize, but I?ll just say that I?m intrigued, and I?m rarely intrigued when it comes to Jake Gyllenhaal (sorry not sorry).
For the Venice premiere, Amy wore a one-armed gold gown from her director-designer. I mean, women would kill to have Tom Ford make them a dress, so the fact that Tom Ford-the-director insists on making clothes for his leading ladies is actually an incredible bonus. I will say that when Ford dressed Julianne Moore almost exclusively for the promotional tour of A Single Man, I ended up being disappointed. He made some really fug choices for Moore. I hope that doesn?t happen again with Amy Adams. For what it?s worth, I like this dress and I think Amy should do metallics more often. I love gold on a redhead. One minor thing, and I can’t believe I’m saying this about a Tom Ford dress, but the way the waist “sits” is a bit dodgy.
I?m also including some photos of Jake Gyllenhaal, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Aaron?s wife Sam Taylor-Johnson. Aaron looks hot in spite of his awful ?90s haircut. Jake looks like Jake. I think Jake might need to regrow a beard, his babyface is hurting my eyes.

Here are some photos of Amy Adams and Jenner Renner at the Venice Film Festival on Thursday. They both arrived several days back, and I guess they?ve been doing press and having fun ahead of last night?s premiere of Arrival. I?m including photos from the photocall (Amy in the blue and green Fendi dress) and the premiere (the black gown). You guys know I love Amy and I think she?s crazy-talented and beautiful, right? Right. But her premiere hair is not good. It?s, like, Duggar hair. Why did her hairstylist give her Duggar hair?
There are a lot of films going through the film festival circuit this fall, and many of them hope to have ?Oscar buzz.? Maybe I?ve just been doing this job too long (or just long enough), but I?ve started to see through some of the more obvious over-hyped campaigns. Too often, a film will come out of Cannes or Venice and there will be so much Oscar hype, but by the time November rolls around, everyone has forgotten about it. For what it?s worth, I don?t think that?s going to happen with Arrival. There?s a lot of hype around Arrival, the sci-fi We Are Not Alone alien-drama starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner. Renner plays second-fiddle to Amy?s lead character, and while I?m still iffy about whether the film will be majorly Oscar-buzzy, I absolutely think Amy?s performance will probably be recognized. The feeling I?m getting is that this film will wage an Oscar campaign not unlike last year?s campaign for The Martian.
Last thing: Margot Kidder played Lois Lane in the Christopher Reeves-starring Superman movies, and Kidder is apparently not a fan of the new Superman-Batman movies. She especially hates what they did with the updated Lois, played by Amy Adams. Kidder said: ?They took one of the best American actresses? around, Amy Adams, and didn?t give her anything to do! I mean, how stupid is that? They made her what used to be the girlfriend, which kind of ended in the 60s with women?s rights.? The headline being generated from this quote is ?Margot Kidder says Amy Adams? Lois Lane is stupid.? That?s not what she?s saying.

| Amy Adams in Versace at the VF Oscar Party: hot or bad color combo? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Of the handful of women in Versace at the Oscars ceremony, I think Tina Fey was my favorite. The color was exquisite, the fit and draping of the gown were elegant and she just looked regal. These are some of women in Versace at the Vanity Fair Oscar party last night (some photos and IDs are still coming in so I may have missed someone.)
I like the idea of Amy Adams’s dress more than the execution. It’s really a bombshell dress with both the way it clings to her and the mixed use of the draped white pieces and the black sequin net sections. There’s some visible craftsmanship in this gown. I just wish the colors and fabrics weren’t as contrasting and that the difference between the sections was more subtle. I would like to see this gown with black instead of white fabric, or just all white with white sequins over paler (not nude) mesh. Her hair and makeup are very pretty.
Heidi Klum redeemed herself, somewhat, after that terrible one sleeve Marchesa at the Oscars ceremony. She’s in Valentino and while the beading along the front is busy and continues too far down the skirt for my taste it could be much, much worse. She brought her 29 year-old boyfriend as her date, Vito Schnabel, and he looked both puffy faced and drunk. This is the guy who gets to bang Heidi Klum.

Kerry Washington, who also wore Versace to the Oscars, was in this plunging v-neck white Versace which had like a contrasting yellow butt shelf. I don’t even know what’s going on back there. The front of that intricately beaded dress is hot and I like the strappy structural details on the front and back.

Show of hands ? is there anyone who dislikes Amy Adams? I adore her. I remember watching Amy in Junebug and realizing right then and there that we would be BFFs. This year is unusual for Amy as she’s not nominated for an Oscar. Amy holds five Oscar nominations but has yet to win. It’s just a matter of time. Amy reprises her role as Lois Lane in Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice, out March 25th.
She graces the cover of the April’s Marie Claire UK. The cover dress is interesting – it looks a little like an elaborate kitchen strainer but the color is great and her makeup is fabulous. The embossed green suit below is tailored perfectly and that heavy print is calling to me. I love the dress’s slit in the black and white photo but dislike the neckline.
Amy and her husband, artist Darren Le Gallo, took 14 years to get down the aisle. What’s nice is that this allowed their adorable five-year-old daughter, Aviana Olea, to witness their vows on an LA ranch. However Amy tells Marie Claire that their wedding could have been much more casual. They planned to elope while in Las Vegas but had one little hiccup:
On drinking her wedding plans away: “We wanted to find a chaplain, go to the desert and get married at sunset, but to be honest, we got too drunk. Then it was just not going to happen.”
On choosing marriage: “I definitely feel like I can’t make empty threats. Before, I could be like, ‘I’m just going to go down and get a hotel room, and I’m going [to] think this through!’ Though I’m making myself sound horrible to this poor, awesome guy. Relationships are hard. I think what I learned is, you just have to make a choice. Marriage is a choice.”
On the duplicity of Hollywood: “I’d gone to the [initial] table read. Producers were like, ‘See you tomorrow!’ Then they called to say I’d been let go. This was the first time I realized that people would lie to my face.”
On creeping on Henry Cavill: “In between shots it was like, ‘Put on a robe please, and make everyone feel less bad about themselves.’ I had to apologise to him at one point. I?m like, ?I promise I?m not that pervy.? He?s just so good to look at. My husband likes to look at him, our [five-year-old] daughter likes to look at him? we?re just a creepy family.”
[From E!Online and The Daily Mail]
The Cavill lust is strong with this one. I remember her getting woozy over him on Graham Norton; she owns her Cavill crush and you know he loves it. How metal is it that Amy drank too much to get married in Vegas? Talk about swimming upstream as Vegas marriages usually happen as a result of drinking.
Amy has just been cast as Camille Preaker in the next Gillian Flynn book to be adapted, Sharp Objects. That?s a tough read but Amy is a good choice for that role. You know what isn?t on Amy?s IMDb page? Get It While You Can, her Janis Joplin biopic. Apparently the film has been riddled with problems. The latest roadblock is a lawsuit by the film?s own producers. I would very much like to see Amy play Janis but I think this film’s a mess and likely not happening in time for Amy to stay attached to it.

Here is Amy Adams looking tanned and flaunted an impressive figure while displaying a pert posterior in a floral army green string bikini for a bikini photo shoot in Santa Monica.
Where did Amy Adams go all of the sudden? For awhile she was all up in those Oscar nominated movies and winning awards and acclaim from everyone. Then she kind of downshifted for a bit. Perhaps she wanted to spend more time with the fam and all that. No matter, as the redhead hottie is back for a new photo shoot being shot down Santa Monica way.

They?ve been romantically involved for 14 years and finally Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo have exchanged marriage vows.
Per an E! News report, the ?Julie and Julia? actress and her longtime love tied the knot at a secret wedding ceremony in California on Saturday, May 2nd in front of a small group of family and friends.
The delay in getting hitched was likely due to Adams? bustling acting career. In 2013 she told Vanity Fair, ?We?re not getting married anytime soon. I know he's completely capable and lovely, and beautiful, and offers something I could never hope to offer just in the nature of his being. We both have a very specific idea that we want to do this [the ceremony] in spring or fall, like in those months, but every time I'm busy working. I want something very family-oriented and laid-back.?
