Celebrity gossip can make people feel jaded about life, about the law, about the system and about general equality. So it?s nice to cover the occasional good/awesome story about those rare celebrities who do genuinely nice things for people without any expectation of good press. Amy Adams was flying out of Detroit on Friday and she noticed that there was a soldier in uniform on the same flight. She made a quiet inquiry and switched seats with him, so the soldier got her first-class seat and she sat back in coach. She comes from a military family, you know. She grew up on military bases and such. And she wasn?t even trying to get press for this ? an ESPN journalist was on the same flight and the ESPN person ?outed? Amy?s random act of awesomeness.
If you thought you couldn’t love Amy Adams more, wait until you hear about this. The Oscar nominee was at the airport in Detroit on Friday when she spotted a soldier in uniform at her gate and then arranged to give her first class seat to the man, who had been ticketed in coach.
Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN’s Numbers Never Lie, was also on the flight and Tweeted about what happened next.
“Just saw actress Amy Adams do something incredibly classy,” she wrote. “She gave her 1st class seat to an American soldier. I’m an even bigger fan now.”
“I don’t think he knows she did it,” she added. “As I was getting seated, I saw the flight attendant guide the soldier to Ms. Adams’ seat. She was no longer in it, but it was pretty clear that she’d given up her seat for him,” Hill told ABC News. “I was incredibly impressed.”
Hill revealed that Adams, 39, whose father was in the U.S. military, briefly chatted to the soldier by the cockpit and then went back to her seat in coach.
“[She] did it so quietly and quickly that it speaks to her character,” Hill said. “And somebody in coach just got a helluva seatmate.”
[From People]
A cameraman from Inside Edition apparently waited for the flight to land in LA and they approached Amy after she got off the flight. She told Inside Edition: “I didn’t do it for attention for myself. I did it for attention for the troops.” So nice. I don?t really have anything else to say about this other than: what a great story, and Amy seems like a lovely person.

Amy Adams was in silver strapless Oscar De La Renta for last night’s Met Gala. This is not her best look. We’ve seen Adams with bizarre looking bustlines in the past, and she often takes calculated fashion risks that aren’t too out there. This dress is a miss, in my opinion. It’s too one-note, the bodice is not pretty, and the fabric is too bunchy. Her hair is too severe too. Great earrings though.
Kirsten Dunst was in a killer black one-shoulder Rodarte. The dress featured an expertly draped velvet panel across the top that extended to one arm. The Death Star from Star Wars was printed on the skirt and tiny sequins dotted the gown in a celestial theme. I absolutely love this dress and think it’s perfect for the Met Gala. Well done.
Giuliana Rancic also wore black, with less success. Her gown is Rhea Costa Gown and she paired it with some kind of vest that I’m hoping is faux fur, but it may be real. Her makeup is way too overdone and she looks um, too tiny. I don’t want to sound concern-trolly but it’s hard not to notice.

Leighton Meester was in a complicated bronze Pucci gown that looks like Mrs. Roper’s night out. What is with all the 70s looks lately? The craftsmanship on that dress is impressive, it’s just more of an art piece than something that highlights the wearer. Something nice, I like how relaxed and happy she looks. That really goes far to helping her carry this look, which would otherwise weigh her down. I bet that dress is heavy.

Rosie Huntington Whitely hit all the right notes in Balmain. I know some will find this dress too busy, but I like how daring and bold this look is. The dress mixes leopard print with gold metallic belt-like stripes and yet somehow it works. It showcases her supernatural legs and she’s accessorizing with giant gold bamboo-look hoops. Amazing. Those matchy gladiator shoes have got to go though. The dress shouldn’t have to compete with the shoes.

Letting loose for the St. Patrick?s Day weekend, Amy Adams hit the pool in Las Vegas on Friday afternoon (March 14).
The ?American Hustle? Golden Globe winner was joined by a gal pal as she lounged in a seafoam green bikini at Wed Republic Day Club at the MGM Grand Resort and Casino.
During her relaxing day, Amy enjoyed a few top-shelf libations while dancing and tanning inside her very own VIP cabana, and her fellow patrons definitely appreciated the view.
As for how she stays so fit, Ms. Adams confessed she likes to be a little nutty- "I try to keep a bag of almonds on me at all times. I find that they make me feel full and keep me going if I find myself somewhere needing something to eat."

What a pleasant surprise…
Here is Amy Adams showcasing her toned figure and washboard abs as she slipped into a cute mint green fringed bandeau bikini while kicking back poolside at the Wet Republic Day Club at the MGM Grand Resort and Casino.
Displaying her long, lean limbs and a rather impressive tan, the Hollywood screen star seemed to be in her element as she lounged around with her friends

Stepping out for a few errands, Amy Adams showed up at a West Hollywood tailor?s shop to get a dress altered on Wednesday afternoon (March 12).
The ?American Hustle? Golden Globe-winning actress shielded her eyes from the bright sunshine with a pair of designer shades as she hauled a huge Gucci shopping bag inside.
In career news, Amy has a few projects in the pipeline this year including ?Lullaby? with her fianc Darren Le Gallo, Jennifer Hudson and Garrett Hedlund.
Per the synopsis, ?A man who's estranged from his family receives word that his father has chosen to take himself off life support within 48 hours.?

Amy Adams was one of the most gracious losers at last night’s Oscar awards, along with Sandra Bullock. I have to give it to Amy especially, she looked genuinely pleased when Cate Blanchett took home the Best Actress statue, when she was passed up by the Academy for the fifth time. Amy’s film, American Hustle, didn’t win in a single category. This wasn’t Amy’s year, but like DiCaprio she will get her day eventually, I’m sure of it.

She?s nominated for Best Actress at the upcoming 86th Academy Awards, and Amy Adams was in the mood to party in West Hollywood last night (February 27).
Joined by her handsome beau Darren Le Gallo, the ?Julie and Julia? hottie arrived at Ago Restaurant for the Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood ?American Hustle? Toast shindig.
Adams wore a plunging Pink dress with snazzy drop earrings and nude stilettos while posing for pictures and mingling with fellow stars.
As for her Oscar attire this weekend, Amy explained, ?Sometimes I feel like I am dressing in costume on the red carpet, and this year I want to feel like myself. So I guarantee when I am on the red carpet this year, you can know that?s a dress I would wear. It?s not a character?s dress.?

I don’t do posts on Amy Adams all that often, but that’s only because she doesn’t bust out her ginger cleavage very much. Still, I guess Amy figured she had to make one last appeal to Oscar voters before Sunday, because here she is looking pretty damn Oscar-worthy at some Vanity Fair event celebrating the […]

| Amy Adams in Frocktalk at the Costume Designers Awards: glam or unflattering? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from Saturday night?s Costume Designers Guild Awards, which must be one of the most fun of all the guild awards, I think. It?s a moment when everyone can come together and recognize all of the fun fashion in films for the year, and this year has been pretty great for costume designers. Off the top of my head, there are two films in particular where the costumes literally stole the scenes away from the actresses: Blue Jasmine and American Hustle (Jasmine won a big award too). And Amy Adams, always a team player, came to the event to help celebrate the Hustle team (plus Amy got a special award too). Amy wore this gown by Frocktalk, a label I?ve never heard of. The dress is pretty enough, and I like her old-Hollywood styling.
Olivia Munn in J. Mendel. Super-flattering! I had no idea she had such a tiny little waist. Great cut on her.
Mindy Kaling in Salvador Alvarez. I actually like Mindy in turquoise and the cut of this dress is flattering on her. My problem is that her makeup looks awful!
Raquel Welch ? good genes? Or a crazy amount of plastic surgery?
I was more than halfway through American Hustle before I recognized Elisabeth Rohm. She played Jeremy Renner?s wife, just FYI. She wore this Badgley Mischka. I don?t hate it. The black-and-white is actually a nice respite from all of the blues and greens at this event.
Kiernan Shipka in Delpozo. I love this young woman. It never feels like she?s dressing inappropriately for her age or for the event. This is a perfect look for her.
Crystal Reed in Naeem Khan. I had no idea who this girl was, so I had to look her up. She?s in Teen Wolf. She?s very pretty. I think she might have had the best makeup of any girl there.

| Amy Adams in Victoria Beckham at the BAFTAs: smart or boring? | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I remember when Amy Adams first started doing the awards circuit. She was really an “it” fashion girl, and she took risks while remaining interesting and gorgeous. Now her fashion is kind of hit or miss, which is to be expected I guess. She’s not trying to pull focus on every red carpet, she’s just showing up, being a consummate professional and looking genuinely happy when she’s passed up, yet again. Amy’s time will come, but it’s not this awards season.
Amy was in this black Victoria Beckham sleeveless gown which just seemed very plain to me. It was a little black dress with a sheer crop top over it and a little polo collar. Maybe with less severe hair this would have worked, but the overall effect is very staid. The dress definitely highlights her killer figure. When she was presenting I was struck by how fit her arms looked. I had arm envy, but not fashion envy. Plus her makeup was overdone. She had those same bow shaped lips with freshly-applied lipstick on camera.
This is Imogen Poots, she’s a 24 year-old British actress who was in one of the most memorable dresses of the evening, in my opinion. She’s known for 28 Weeks Later, which I’ve seen but I didn’t remember her honestly. This amazing crimson cutout gown is Givenchy. Do you remember Amy Adams’ Globe dress this year? It was also Givenchy and was very low cut. Amy isn’t always so conservative. She could have pulled off a dress like this but maybe she’s just trying to mix it up.
Contrast that skin-showing showstopper to Sally Hawkins, of Blue Jasmine, in long sleeve Mulberry. This dress looks just like the one she wore to the Globes, which was similarly pale and embroidered. I dislike the bell skirt, I dislike the formal floral pattern, and I dislike the whole gown. It’s very old fashioned and fug.
Edith Bowman did some red carpet interviews last night, and I’m including her because she was awesome. I honestly didn’t know who she was until I saw her on BBC America ahead of the show. She was funny as hell, she was very good at talking to the attendees, and I just came away so impressed with her. That said, I was distracted by her flyaway hair. She made up for it with her personality, though. She was a lot of fun.
