Over the weekend, I was gently criticizing Amy Adams for wearing a hideous batwing Mouret dress, and I mentioned that my mom is Amy?s Superfan. Like, my mom calls her ?a princess? and yells at me when I say anything that might suggest that Amy is anything less than Cinderella (seriously, my mom calls her ?Cinderella?). So I?m going to get hell for this, but Amy?s Marie Claire cover shot is? not good. She looks pissy/weepy. I think Amy is very, very pretty. And talented, okay, mom? But this is not her best shot. What might be even worse, though, is the very un-Cinderella-like crotch shot below. Sigh? Cinderella could do so much better. But Amy is trying to change up her image - she does the Marie Claire interview while taking a pole dancing lesson. Full piece is here, and here are some highlights:
On her innocent image: “I did one interview when I was pregnant, and the writer said he thought people would be surprised to know that I had sex,” says Adams. “I didn’t know what to say. I was like, ‘Excuse me if it takes a minute to process the fact that you think I’m asexual.’ Anyway, there’s something great about the world thinking I’m so innocent. Only it’s not true.”
On being a hot mess: “In my 20s, boy,” she later confesses, shaking her head over a lunch of chicken and mashed potatoes, “I was a hot mess.”
On pole dancing: “Some mom friends said it’s a good way to lose the baby weight,” she says. “And I’ll do anything to get off of that treadmill.”
On her trashy role in The Fighter: “I had met with David about another movie that didn’t happen. Then he called about The Fighter. I was in Ireland doing the movie Leap Year, and he sent me 20 pages of the script. I was nearly on page 20 when I was like, ‘Wait, which part is for me?’” Adams says, laughing. “She was ready to play against type,” says Russell about choosing Adams. “A tough, sexy bitch. She has it and knows it, and she killed it. It opened up a whole side to her that’s exciting.”
More about The Fighter: “What’s funny is that some people who’ve seen it have said, ‘Amy, you’re finally playing yourself!’” says Adams. “It’s not that she’s like me. It’s just that she’s less naive. My other characters haven’t been tested. She has been through it.”
Amy on getting married: ” Darren and I would set a date, and then a project would come up and we’d push it. Then when we got pregnant, we were going to get married right away. And we will get married. But we didn’t want to rush and plan something just to do it the traditional way,” she explains.
On her fianc/baby-daddy: ?Darren’s not competitive with me, which is great. That just wouldn’t work,? she says, noting that things could change at any time and that one day their roles and profiles may be reversed. “We’re a family, and he’s really embraced his role as a father.”

I love the ?hot mess? comment. I was a hot mess in my early 20s too. Weren?t we all? Also, Amy is really funny. In interviews, she?s sweet but funny, but the girl has great comedic chops on screen too. I recently saw that film, Leap Year, with my mother of course. Because my mom will watch anything with Cinderella. Anyway, it wasn?t as hideous as I expected, and Amy is completely watchable and adorable in everything. Ah, Cinderella.

Putting her stunning beauty on full display, Amy Adams adorns the cover of the January 2011 issue of Marie Claire magazine.
The 36-year-old actress donned a variety of stylishly sexy ensembles for the magazine's accompanying spread which coincides with Miss Adams' promotional efforts for her upcoming movie due out on December 17th titled "The Fighter".
As for the issue's interview, Amy reminisced on a past Q&A session with a reporter who stunned the actress after seeming to be surprised about the fact that she's had sex.
Adams tells, "I did one interview when I was pregnant and the writer said he though people would be surprised to know that I had sex."
She continued, "I didn't know what to say. I was like, 'Excuse me if it takes a minute to process the fact that you think I'm asexual.' Anyway, there's something great about the world thinking I'm so innocent. Only it's not true."

There was a big screening of The Fighter over the weekend in NYC, and all of the leads came out to support the film. Mark Wahlberg (lead and producer) wore an extremely shiny suit, Christian Bale actually showed up (shocking) and everybody?s favorite princess Amy Adams worked this black batwing Roland Mouret dress. I find it particularly hideous, honestly, but it does crack me up a little how Amy is trying to be all ?high fashion, street? with this look. It?s like she doesn?t even realize that to so many people, she?s just a redheaded Disney princessy sweetheart. People like my mother. Have I ever told you how much my mother LOVES Amy Adams? Like, my mother is loony for her, obsessed with her. I had to promise to take my mom to see The Fighter, and all she really knows about it is that Amy is in it. This is some sample dialogue from my mother: ?She?s the prettiest princess, ever!? Me: ?Mom, the film isn?t even about her - she?s playing second fiddle to Mark and Christian.? Mom: ?I don?t care. She?s always going to be my pretty princess.? Hand to God.
Here?s Mark and Christian?
Can I just say something? I?m really, really shocked at how ?up for it? Christian Bale seems - like he?s making the effort to not be a surly, grumpy ?artist? for the promotion of this film. Is it because of a potential Oscar campaign?? Well, The Fighter has a pretty good chance at some Oscars this year, and everyone involved is doing a pretty good job at selling this movie, I have to say. It helps that Mark Wahlberg is not only the lead, but a producer, and Hollywood movers and shakers seem to really like Mark - remember, he was the only actor in the cast of The Departed to get an Oscar nomination. And he?s a solid producer too - did you know that in addition to his success with Entourage, he?s also executive producing In Treatment and episodes of Boardwalk Empire, both highly acclaimed shows? So is Mark ordering Christian to just suck it up and campaign for an Oscar? I would love to know their dynamic, I really would.

Amy Adams was spotted outside Good Morning America yesterday with her fiance, actor and artist Darren Le Gallo, and their nearly seven month-old daughter, Aviana. I think we’ve seen Aviana before, but I just can’t get over what an adorable baby she is - and she has her mom’s gorgeous red hair!
Adams is promoting her role in The Fighter, out December 10, in which she plays Mark Wahlberg’s girlfriend. She told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America yesterday (video below) that she took boxing lessons to prepare for her ‘feisty’ role but that her experience as one of seven siblings also gave her experiences to draw on. They showed a clip from the film and it looks incredible. There’s Oscar buzz around this film, and Amy has of course already been nominated for an Oscar this early in her career. She’s certainly made some excellent film choices and she’s one of my favorite actresses. I love how low key and normal she is without making a point of it.
On motherhood, she told Robin “it’s really really good, it’s fantastic. Aviana is here actually. She comes with me everywhere.” She also explained that she didn’t want her career to affect her daughter at all “I want her to feel that she has her own identity, and her identity isn’t caught up in what I do. That’s really important for me.” You know, we see so little of Amy when she doesn’t have a film to promote that it’s a real treat to watch her interviews. She’s always impressed me.
Here are more photos and Amy’s interview. Doesn’t she look so much like Mariah Carey in that one photo below? I think it’s her hair and sunglasses, plus she’s making an expression like Mariah always does.

Showing off her fully blossomed baby bump, Amy Adams was spotted out on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday afternoon (May 5).
The expecting actress was all smiles as she slowly walked into a local medical building - with Amy and fianc Darren Le Gallo's fist baby due any time now.
The outing comes just as Miss Adams' most recent movie "Leap year" sees in its release on DVD.
The film finds "a woman who has an elaborate scheme to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, an Irish tradition which occurs every time the date February 29 rolls around, face a major setback when bad weather threatens to derail her planned trip to Dublin. With the help of an innkeeper, however, her cross-country odyssey just might result in her getting engaged."

As for the baby on the way, Miss Adams told press that she and fiance Darren Le Gallo are yet to choose a name.
