Here are some assorted photos from last night?s European/London premiere of Man of Steel. I didn?t talk about this when I covered the LA premiere photos, but it feels like it?s been a really long time since a major ?blockbuster? movie had its first premiere in LA. It used to be that the first premiere of most Hollywood movies were held in LA. Nowadays, they go to London, then they do a European tour for a week, THEN they do the promotional rounds in America. Which just goes to show you how important the foreign markets have become for Hollywood. It also shows you how much Superman is considered to be the most ?American? of superheroes, so I guess they?re hoping for a big box office in America first and foremost.
Anyway, these photos are nice but I?m not blown away by anyone. Henry Cavill?s hair is still bugging me, but this suit is so much better than his ensemble in LA. He?s been wearing Tom Ford for the premieres, and Tom Ford gave him a much better suit for the London premiere. Amy Adams is wearing Valentino. It?s okay. Not my favorite, but it doesn?t suck. My least favorite thing is the headband ? too cutesy.
As for the other men of Man of Steel ? my Michael Shannon crush is becoming a big problem. Why isn?t he mine?! As for Russell Crowe? my God. I would STILL hit it like a house on fire. It?s something particular about Rusty? he just still does it for me.
PS? Still no Gina Carano. Huh.

Taking care of some international promotional duties, Amy Adams arrived at Heathrow International Airport in London, England today (June 12).
The ?Master? actress was in good spirits as she hopped off her plane ahead of the UK premiere of ?Man of Steel? later tonight.
Adams recently told press that she wanted to bring a different vibe to her Lois Lane role rather than just copy the way she?s always been played.
"I think that I was at the right time to try something new. I think had I done it in the past I would have tried to emulate something I saw, or one of the comics. I would really be trying to emulate something as opposed to trying something new."

Here is Amy Adams looking regal at the Man Of Steel premiere at Alice Tully Hall in New York City. Adams glammed it up in a black strapless Nina Ricci dress with peekaboo lace bodice.
She kept the right side of her hair in the front, while the left side was tucked behind her ear and shoulder. Her red hair looked gorgeous against her retro red lip.

Here are some photos of Amy Adams and her partner/baby-daddy Darren Le Gallo at last night?s LA premiere of Man of Steel. Amy wore a Nina Ricci Fall 2013 gown which I?m not loving. It?s an interesting design, and maybe I would have enjoyed it more for an awards show red carpet, and only then with completely different styling. I?m sorry, but her hairstyle sucks. I love Amy, and I think she?s so pretty/cute, but the styling is TERRIBLE.
Amy recently appeared on Chelsea Lately and she had one funny story ? about her daughter goosing Henry Cavill ? and one interesting story. It seems that Amy is quite positive that she doesn?t want another kid. She?s sure that Aviana is going to be an only child. That?s quite shocking in a world where Hollywood moms (and regular moms) are always talking about wanting more babies, more babies, etc.
Amy Adams is raising a little flirt! During a June 6 appearance on Chelsea Lately, the 38-year-old actress revealed that her 3-year-old daughter Aviana (with fiance Darren Le Gallo) developed a crush on Man of Steel’s leading man, Henry Cavill.
“When she met him, she liked the look of the suit, so when he turned around, she goosed him!” Adams said of her only child’s first meeting with Cavill, 30. “You know what Henry said? ‘Like mother, like daughter!’”
“He was funny,” Adams said of the English actor, who’s dating action star Gina Carano. “He has a great sense of humor.”
Adams — who also admitted that her own “first crush was Superman” — said she had been vying for the role of newspaper reporter Lois Lane for nearly a decade. “I auditioned twice before. There was an incarnation that J.J. Abrams scripted and then the one they did a couple years ago [Superman Returns],” she said. (Kate Bosworth was cast opposite Brandon Routh in the 2006 adaptation, which was widely panned by critics.)
Engaged to actor/artist Le Gallo since 2008, Adams told host Chelsea Handler that she has no desire to have any more children. According to the famous redhead, when she tells people that Aviana will be an only child, they often look at her quizzically.
“People really give you a look. They’re like, ‘When are you having another?’ And you’re like, ‘I’m not.’ And then you feel like a bad person,” the Colorado-raised star said. “They’re like, ‘Don’t you want to give her a sibling?’ But I had so many siblings that I’m like, ‘God, no!’”
[From Us Weekly]
Tina Fey talked about the only-child thing too ? that when she was deciding whether or not to have a second child, people were flat-out offended that she would even consider only having one kid. Apparently, it?s no longer popular to just do one kid. Which is weird. I?m an only child and I love it. Only children are underrated! Also: how cute is the ?like mother, like daughter? story?

Here’s Amy Adams in the July 2013 edition of Elle UK promotingMan of Steel. You can sort of see through that black lace she’s wearing in one of the shots. Hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

I am an Amy Adams fan, but this is maybe the worst editorial I?ve ever seen of her. In films and on red carpets, she?s so pretty in a girlish and delicate way, and Elle UK made her look so? old. Well, the cover looks ?old? and the rest of the shots are just not all that great. WTF? Did she piss them off? Doubtful. From what I?ve heard about Amy, she truly is one of the nicer celebrities you?d ever want to meet. She?s promoting her big role as Lois Lane in Man of Steel ? I?ve already covered some quotes where she basically sounded like she was half-in-love with Henry Cavill too. But in this interview, they make it seem like Amy is kind of whiny. Eh.
After filming Catch Me If You Can: ?I choked. I felt this pressure to suddenly be this level of actress that I wasn?t confident enough to be. I did a series of really bad auditions, I let the nerves get the best of me. And the couple of years after that it was, ?I can?t do this. I?m not strong enough to continue with this level of rejection?. It was, ?What am I going to do with my life?? I was staring down 30. I was lost, confused.?
Insecurities: ?Being an actress hasn?t made me insecure. I was insecure long before I declared I was an actress. I like not being noticed. It has been a struggle because I love performing, but if I?m in a group of people and someone has a bigger personality I?m like ?Go ahead, and have fun!? It looks like a lotta work.?
Existential crisis: ?I had an existential crisis at the Oscars, sitting next to Sean Penn and Meryl Streep and being like, ?What am I doing here? I don?t belong here.? I felt like it could all be taken away.?
Deciding to be an actress: ?I graduated high school and I didn?t have a skill set and I didn?t want to go to college. I needed a job. This is what I could do. And I like it, but it can be very painful. You feel so vulnerable all the time on set, so exposed. But I had that same feeling of being exposed when I was a waitress, I have it at parties, I have it here. I?d love to be a diva. But I?d then have to send so many apology notes for my abhorrent behaviour.?
Man of Steel: ?It?s more raw, a little less quippy. Hopefully you?ll enjoy the banter and the relationship between Lois and Clark, but it?s a totally new imagining of the story. I was shaking by the end of it. I realised that I hadn?t seen a film with that much action in it since Avatar, so it overwhelmed my adrenal system. Not that it?s all just action, but it is a lot of fun.?
[From Elle UK via The Mail]
I?ve heard her talk about the years after Catch Me If You Can before ? she was out of sorts and she didn?t know what to do with her life. In other interviews, she said someone told her to ?go red? (with her hair) and soon enough she booked Junebug and scored her first Oscar nomination ? her first nomination out of FOUR. Which means that she?s one of the most respected actresses out there today. Also: Amy is 38 years old! She turns 39 in August. She still looks 20-something to me. Except for the Elle UK cover, where she looks 50-something.

While filmingAmerican Hustle a few days ago, Amy Adams accidentally flashed her crotch. The good news for her is, unlike Eva Longoria, she decided to wear Spanx underneath her outfit. Which is terrible news for us. Geez, what are you, Amy Adams. A nevernude?

| Amy Adams in fringed de la Renta at the VF Party: better than her Oscar dress? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It feels like Amy Adams is always a bridesmaid at the Oscars, and that she’s constantly nominated but never wins anything. I checked her wiki and she’s been nominated for best supporting actress four times: at the 2006 Academy Awards for Junebug, in 2009 for Doubt, in 2011 for The Fighter and this year for The Master. She’s a staple at the Oscars and she always puts her game face on, even when she’s pre-taping reaction shots for dumb skits involving actresses’ boobs.
At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party (we’re getting to some late-breaking photos today) Amy donned this really incredible silver fringed Oscar de la Renta dress that was very 20s but just skirted the edge of “full flapper.” Does that make sense? Like this could have looked cheap and dated but it didn’t, Amy really worked it. (We don’t have full length photos, but here’s one on US’s site.) I wish she would have worn this dress to the Oscars instead of that pale Oscar de la Renta with the huge fluffy train, but a lot of you liked it.
Also in metallic, in shocking, eye-assaulting blue, we have Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier. Nina Dobrev just sported a green version of this dress to the Critics Choice Awards, and she wore it much better, IMO. Nina doesn’t take herself as seriously as Ginnifer and she doesn’t suffer from styling problems like having hair that resembles a Little Rascal.
Also with bad pre WW2-era hair we have Anna Paquin. She lost a lot of weight since having her twins and seems to have gone a little too far with it, but I guess that’s Hollywood. I really want to like these two and I’m a huge True Blood fan, but I’m still kind of miffed that we haven’t learned their babies’ names, or even their genders. At least they look happy here and aren’t sucking in their cheeks. I don’t have a designer ID on Anna’s dress but I’m going to guess it’s Rachel Comey, which made a similar dress that she wore about a year ago. It’s meh. Anna and Stephen hit up both the VF Oscar party and Elton John’s soiree. They were probably psyched for a date night.
And here’s Jane Fonda ruling the Vanity Fair carpet like she ruled the Oscars. She was in a very formfitting abstract spot print gown accented with the same killer clutch, awesome drop earrings and gold peeptoe shoes she wore earlier in the night. I know Jane has had some work done, she admits it, but she doesn’t look plastic or waxy and she just looks sexy as hell. She’s the best advertisement for her fitness DVDs.

| Amy Adams in huge Oscar de la Renta at the Oscars: amazing or ridiculous? | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Best Supporting Actress nominee Amy Adams wore this pale silver Oscar de la Renta gown with a huge fluffy ruffled skirt, a fitted sweetheart bodice and a train that would have seemed excessive for a royal bride. I love to see Amy on the red carpet, she usually looks amazing, and she often mixes it up and takes calculated fashion risks that pay off for her. This dress feels uninspired somehow, like it’s over the top but in a way that’s not risky at all. There’s something “off” about the look. Plus the color of the gown washes her out, and her styling leaves something to be desired. This is better than last year’s Oscar look for Amy, but she went “too formal” where she was too casual in 2012. She’ll get her fashion and makeup exactly right when she does win that Oscar, and I suspect it won’t be long now.
Here’s another Best Actress nominee, Helen Hunt, who of course got shut out by AnnE and her unstoppable false humility. Unlike Anne, Helen went with a decidedly downmarket designer for her Oscar gown, H&M! She told Ryan Seacrest that H&M was “going green, they work with this company Global Green that I love. It?s a win-win.” Helen’s navy strapless gown wasn’t a standout, but coupled with her gorgeous jewelry and how pretty and comfortable she looked, it definitely was a win-win.
Catherine Zeta Jones wore this gold sequin and mesh mermaid Zuhair Murad gown that just looked trashy, especially on screen. There was too much going on with the complicated beading on the bodice and the curlicue throughout the skirt. Her hair was really fake looking too. When Ryan Seacrest interviewed her with Michael Douglas, I got the impression that Douglas was kind of drunk, but she seemed to hold it together.
CZJ performed “All That Jazz” as part of one of the many musical numbers that were like bags of pretzels handed out during a really long flight. (At least CZJ’s performance was. I would never say that about Adele or Babs.) She also presented Best Musical Score, along with her fellow castmembers from Chicago. (That movie came out 10 years ago. I don’t get it.)
Octavia Spencer was in her go-to designer, Tadashi Shoji, and I like that she went with a different fit than the Grecian dresses she was wearing last year. (Maybe that style is on the wane anyway.) Renee Zellweger said something last night that explained to me celebrities are so loyal to a specific designer. She said, about Carolina Herrera, “I love her and I love her team… I always look forward to those guys showing up.” That makes a lot of sense, they get to know and trust these designers. I get why celebrities form a relationship with one designer who consistently makes them look good instead of paying a stylist who may have her own motivations.
Octavia looks lovely and I like her asymmetric neckline here. The bangs are a little much, but her styling is otherwise pretty. This is the kind of skirt that I would have liked to see on Amy Adams’ dress – big and flowy but not comical.

Enjoying a romantic couples' sweat session of the tame kind, Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo hit the gym in West Hollywood on Thursday (February 14).
The "Master" star sported a navy tank top, black workout leggings, and a gray jacket while smiling with her artsy fiance.
Recently, the 38-year-old actress spoke to British Company magazine about her notable red locks, saying, "I've embraced red hair. I love it. I think it allows you to have a bigger personality."
As for Amy's plans for her coif, she muses, "I really want to cut my hair as I would love to have a bob. I really like the short hair I had in Julie & Julia, I felt really sporty with it - but I don't know if I could pull it off in real life and I've become so attached to my long hair."
