Gearing up for some promotional duties, Jim Carrey was spotted leaving his London, England hotel earlier today (November 2).
Joined by girlfriend Jenny McCarthy, the “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” actor looked to be in good spirits, sporting a massive beard as he passed the paparazzi.
Jim is in town to promote his new film “A Christmas Carol” which premieres in London’s West End tomorrow night.

Jim Carrey and his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy were out a charity benefit late last week. Carrey has gained some weight and sports a new scruffy beard tinged with gray. He looks so different that if he passed right by me on the street I wouldn’t recognize him at all. Carrey is beefing up to play Curley in the new “Three Stooges” comedy directed by the Farrelly brothers. The movie also stars Benicio Del Toro as Moe and Paul Giamatti as Larry. It’s out next year and it looks like a lot of fun, although I wonder if super serious Del Toro can do comedy. Kaiser reminded me that “the closest he’s ever come to comedy is that sucky one he did with Ryan Phillippe.” That would be the poorly-reviewed 2000 film The Way of The Gun. He might surprise us as a perfect deadpan counterbalance to Carrey’s over-the-top antics.
Jim Carrey appears to be taking his role in the “Three Stooges” seriously, visibly fattening up as planned for his role as Curly. He was out in LA Thursday night with a round face partially obscured by a new beard and glasses.
Back in April his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy told Ellen Degeneres that Carrey was beginning to pack on the pounds.
“He’s going to gain 50 pounds to play Curly. He’s just having so much fun with it,” Jenny told Ellen.
“I have no idea what it’s going to be like when he hits near 300 pounds. But, you know, he’s in his comedy. He works hard at it.”

Are scruffy gray beards the latest look for Hollywood men? I did a search on “beard” on one of the photo agencies we subscribe to, and Katie Holmes didn’t come up, but the other results show how the beard trend has caught on. Photos from the last two months show that Russell Crowe, Jeff Bridges, Dustin Hoffman and of course, Brad Pitt, are also sporting silver facial hair. My dad and his retired buddies are finally in style.

They’re always up for a swanky evening out, and last night (October 1) Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy were spotted at the 2009 UCLA Department of Neurosurgery’s Visionary Ball.
The “Ace Ventura” funnyman and his “Singled Out” gal looked so happy together as they arrived at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel for the shindig.
At this year’s ball, entertainment manager Joan Hyler was presented with the Courage Award, stemming from her recovery after being hit by a speeding car while crossing the Pacific Coast Highway last year.
Bruce Vilanch, who spent long hours with Hyler as she recovered, told the audience, “We thought it was over when they brought her in. They wanted to amputate her legs, she wasn’t breathing on her own, wasn’t responsive. As the night wore on, the waiting room filled with enough clients and friends that it looked like a SAG strike meeting. The staff realized then that she was an unusual patient, especially later, when she came back after four months in a coma to defy everyone’s expectations. She had to learn to speak again, and is now relearning to walk. It’s still an uphill climb, but at least she can climb.”

Jenny McCarthy didn?t hold back from telling a drunk-looking Kathy Lee Gifford her number. No, not the number of guys Jenny has slept with, Jenny revealed her weight on the Today show yesterday morning. For some reason, this is getting a lot of play. I guess because female celebrities don?t often say their weight out loud, much less on live television? Jenny has nothing to be ashamed of - she weighs 125 pounds, and she gives her height as five foot six inches. She looks healthy to me - I could even see her with an extra ten to twenty pounds and she would still look healthy and fit.
Jenny McCarthy weighed more than 200 pounds when she delivered her son, Evan. But that was seven years ago, and now she is a Weight Watchers “lifer.”
Though she may not be posing for Playboy again, McCarthy is happy with her weight. Wine in hand, she shared that number with Hoda and Kathie Lee on the Today show.
“I’m normal for LA,” she said. “5?6,” 125 pounds.”
“I’m 5?9,” 145 pounds,” Hoda chimed in.
“You should be proud!” McCarthy told her. “That’s a good weight!” Kathie Lee declined to share her weight with America.

Of course Kathy Lee declined to tell her number. She doesn?t know how much a box of ?morning wine? weighs. Anyhoodle, Jenny revealed her ?number? all to promote her role in Weight Watchers ?Lose For Good? campaign, which targets obesity and hunger. For the next month and a half, Jenny will be helping Weight Watchers raise up to $1 million for Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger, projects that target those issues domestically and abroad. So far, Jenny has participated in donating ?Good Food Garden? in Altadena, CA and given a lot of press to the joint causes. Good stuff.

Back in May, it was announced that Jenny McCarthy would be getting her own talk show. Not only that, it would be produced by The Golden Touch herself, Oprah Winfrey. Jenny started out with a blog on Oprah.com, and it sort of took off from there. Jenny has promised that she will not be writing any more books about autism, but she has committed herself to being a lifelong autism advocate, and many thought the talk show would be an extension of her advocacy work. When most of us heard that Jenny had inked the talk show deal, we thought ?Crap. Every show will probably be about autism.? I?m not making fun of her, or mocking her son or anything, but a daily talk show where that?s the only topic would not be a watchable show. But it seems that Jenny wants the show to be like The Daily Show, and she views herself as a Jon Stewart-type? with boobs.
Deep-six that ?bubble-chested bubble-head? image ? blonde bombshell Jenny McCarthy hit showbiz gold when OPRAH signed her to debut a new TV talk show next year, and the ?Playboy? motor-mouth told My Spy the exact note she hopes to hit with viewers?and ?blonde Oprah? ain?t it!
?I want to do a daytime ?Daily Show,?? gushed Jenny. ?If Jon Stewart had boobs and conquered women?s issues instead of politics ? that?s exactly the template I want.?

Except that Jon Stewart does have boobs/moobs. A little bit. He?s a perky A-cup, bless his heart. I love him regardless (and I would love to see his moobs, seriously), but I?m just telling the truth.
So? can Jenny pull it off? Can she show intelligence and humor about a wide range of issues? Maybe. I enjoy her interviews, even if I don?t always agree with her. She?s very funny, passionate and engaging - which are words I?d also use to describe Jon. Here?s hoping she pulls it off!

A few weeks ago Jenny McCarthy was on ?Chelsea Lately? and mentioned that she?s not going to write any more books about autism ? but that doesn?t mean she?s done talking about it. Turns out, McCarthy will get to do a lot of talking in the future ? she?s just inked a deal for a new talk show with Oprah?s production company. She?s dipping her toe in the water with a blog on Oprah?s website, then moving on to her syndicated talk show.
Jenny McCarthy is poised to become the next star in Oprah Winfrey’s media empire.
McCarthy has inked a multi-year overall deal with Winfrey’s Harpo Prods. to develop projects on different platforms, including a syndicated talk show that the actress/author would host.
The first collaboration under the pact is a blog by McCarthy on Oprah.com, which launched on Friday. Like other Winfrey proteges-turned-TV moguls, including Rachael Ray and Dr. Phil, McCarthy has been a frequent guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
McCarthy talked to the chat queen about her struggles with her son’s autism in conjunction with the releases of her best-selling books “Louder Than Words: A Mother’s Journey in Healing Autism” and
“Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds.” McCarthy also was part of Winfrey’s Friday Live panels twice, including this past Friday.
A former Playboy model, McCarthy burst into the TV scene as the engaging host of MTV’s dating show “Singled Out,” a gig that jump-started her acting career. She later segued into writing with a string of best-selling books and became an activist for curing autism.

Normally whenever I hear about a new talk show my only clear thought is a loud groan. Which isn?t really a thought ? and that tells you something. But this is something I will definitely watch. Jenny has truly shocked me with how smart, insightful, and committed she is. And she?s also real and funny and hot ?all things that will make her show successful. I can?t speak for other people but I find her immensely likeable now, whereas she used to grate on my nerves when she hosted ?Singled Out.? I think she?s really matured into a passionate, dedicated woman, while remaining fun and spirited. I admire the devotion she?s brought to her autism work, and it?ll be interesting to watch her tackle other issues.

Few people know how to make a good time even better like Jim Carrey. I have no evidence for this belief beyond his generally wacky behavior, but he seems like the sort that is good at lightening the mood, even when it?s already pretty light. Jim and girlfriend Jenny McCarthy are currently in Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival. In fact most of Hollywood has cleared out entirely, if I?m to believe the majority of the Sundance-related reports I?m reading.
Jim turned 47 on Saturday, and is still looking damn fine. In that goofy/hot way. And to celebrate, he went for some good old fashioned bumping and grinding onstage with G-Unit member Lloyd Banks.
Rapper 50 cent ensured Jim Carrey’s 47th birthday was an event to remember by inviting him to join his G-Unit entourage onstage during a live performance. The Yes Man actor celebrated his big day by catching the rapper’s performance at Sundance Film Festival’s Vitaminwater house in Park City, Utah, on Saturday.
The birthday boy, along with his actress girlfriend Jenny McCarthy, headed directly for the balcony where the star was performing with his hip-hop group G-Unit, reports the New York Daily News. A source tells the newspaper, “Jim and Jenny were dancing and really getting into the music, so 50 decided to bring him out to the balcony for a special rendition of In Da Club (which repeats the line “It’s your birthday”).
“When Fiddy told the crowd, ‘I have a very special guest for you’, everyone was floored because he had just done a duet with Robin Thicke. They thought the surprises were over. Then 50 started singing and Jim appeared, and the crowd just lost it.”
Carrey didn’t show off his rapping skills - but he did win laughs after lip-syncing along with 50 cent and showing off his hip-hop dance moves. The witness adds: “Jim was bumping and grinding with (G-Unit member) Lloyd Banks. It was pandemonium in the best way.”

Now this is how you do a birthday properly. There?s no need for the stereotypical cake and ice cream when you can shake it on stage with another dude. And who in the world would want to dance with Jenny McCarthy anyway? Blech. It sounds like Jim had a good birthday that was certainly in keeping with his love of fun.
He is in town promoting his film, ?I Love You Phillip Morris.? When asked by an audience member what it was like to kiss Ewan Mcgregor, he responded, ??A dream come true!? … ?I mean, look at the guy!?? There were no reports of Jim kissing anyone in G-Unit, but Sundance isn?t over yet.
