One of the funniest things to come out of the Bennifer Redux is the interview J.Lo gave to Zane Lowe last week, where she said (among other things): ?I want my people who care about me ? because I care about them so much ? to know that I?ve really gotten to a place in my life where I?m great on my own.? This from the woman who got love letter emails from Ben while she was engaged to A-Rod, then dumped A-Rod and was seen with Ben two seconds later. But sure, she?s ?great on her own.? Well, Jennifer has even more thoughts about being ?on her own? and how she realized she didn?t need a man. For real.
Jennifer Lopez is opening up about her happy life now. In a PEOPLE exclusive preview of the stars chat with Apple Music 1s Ebro Darden about her new Rauw Alejandro collaboration Cambia El Paso airing at 4:30 p.m. EST on Monday, she said she recently realized that she was good on her own and that happiness starts within me.
Once I realized that, things [happened]. Things happen that you dont expect to ever happen. Once you get to the point where youre like, This is not right for me, or this doesnt feel good, or I need to make an adjustment here. This is not really about anybody else but me. Once you do that, stuff starts falling into place. She added: I think thats how you should process this moment that I feel again.
Lopez went on to say that her life typically bleeds into her art.
It always shows up in the music, she said. Sometimes you have to change direction, even though that might be painful or it might seem weird to other people. Its really just about who you are and what feels right to you, and thats what its about.
Earlier in the chat, Lopez admitted that trying to grow and evolve and become more fully myself and true to myself in the public eye over the past three decades has been a journey.
My mission has always been to kind of put love into the world, love and beauty and art, she said. And that has always been my thing, and music and movies and all the things and how it manifests itself. But at the end of the day I think when you do watch artists and youre lucky enough as I am to be able to continue to do what you love for so long, you watch a life. You watch a life unfold in front of you and you watch a person really find their way.

I mean, in the larger sense, what she?s saying is a subtweet of Alex Rodriguez and not Ben Affleck. She?s saying that when she was Alex, she realized she would rather be alone than be unhappy with him for one more minute. That?s what all of this is about. That was a new experience for her, being so desperately unhappy in a relationship and genuinely wanting to be free, because usually she needs to be with someone no matter what. And so she?s saying that she wanted to be alone and then Ben came along and wanted to be with her again and that was the universe telling her that ?it?s okay to be alonebecause another dude is on the way.?

There?s actually no question in my mind that J.Lo is very happy right now. Ben is probably showering her with attention, he wrote that love letter full of longing (so she knows he wants this), he?s handling the paparazzi a lot better and she?s getting laid. On Friday it occurred to me that there were no good updates on Bennifer the entire week. It was weird! Considering how much interest there is in the reunion of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, surely ?sources? would give weekly updates to People Magazine and Us Weekly, right? But it was complete radio silence? until Friday evening, when Bennifer went out to eat in Avra in Beverly Hills. According to photo agency Backgrid, Ben and J.Lo were trying to enter the restaurant through the quieter back entrance, only paparazzi swarmed them as they entered and exited. It looked like Ben drove them there, but then one of Jen?s security people drove them away. Apparently, they came in a Rolls Royce? Which means it was her ride, right? Does Ben have a Rolls? Oh God, was it the Rolls Royce which Ben gave J.Lo back in the day?!? OMG.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are continuing to enjoy their time together. On Friday evening, Affleck, 48, and Lopez, 51, enjoyed a date night at Avra Beverly Hills Estiatorio, a source tells PEOPLE. There, the pair dined in a private room for two hours.
They enjoyed Mediterranean food in one of the private dining rooms. Jen looked amazing, the source says. They were both in a great mood. Ben always looks very happy when he is with Jen.

Ben Affleck went to Miami to spend several days with Jennifer Lopez at her waterfront home just before the Memorial Day weekend. Jennifer has been Miami-based for years now she based herself and the kids there when she started up with Alex Rodriguez and they began blending their families and all of that. Marc Anthony had a big spread in Miami too, which he recently sold. The entire time, mind you, Jennifer has maintained homes in LA and New York, she just didn?t base herself in those cities while she was with A-Rod. Now that she?s got a new/old man who is LA-based, it?s looking more and more like Jennifer is going to relocate permanently to LA. She returned to LA during the Memorial Day holiday, and she and Ben have been seen going in and out of each other?s homes ever since. Jennifer has also been looking at LA schools for her kids. Now sources confirm that the move is happening:

Here are some photos of Jennifer Lopez at Windward School in LA on Thursday. I don?t know what this is about, because I?m almost positive that her kids are in school in Miami. Jennifer and Marc Anthony share custody of Max and Emme, and I?d be willing to bet that Marc has the kids this week while Jennifer is in LA, and he?s making the school runs (if the kids are still in school in June? IDK). Is Jen thinking of transferring the kids to an LA school? She would only do that if she was planning on spending much more time in LA in the next school year. Ben Affleck is LA-based. So? um. We?ll see. I said this week that I have my fingers crossed for Bennifer to stay together for the September Met Gala. But it does seem like Jennifer is making plans for beyond that.

After several weeks of wall-to-wall Bennifer news, there?s been relative silence from Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck this week. That?s good! That?s good news for us and for their relationship. Ben and Jen are like high schoolers, and they could easily fall into an infatuation cycle which would burn brightly for a second and then quickly fall apart. Shortly after Ben and Jennifer?s trip to Montana, she left LA and went to Miami, where she?s been based in recent years. The Miami trip was for work, but it was also a moment to give the ?Bennifer? relationship some space so they didn?t fall into the same old cycle. But! Jennifer returned to LA recently and she did spend time with Ben. Her people basically confirmed everything to People:
Jennifer Lopez recently returned to L.A. to support a close friend who lost her mother. A source tells PEOPLE the singer, 51, flew back to the West Coast to be there for her friend and producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, whose mother Frances Goldsmith, died earlier this month.
Jennifer flew to L.A. to be there for her friend and producing partner, says the source. She was there to hold her friends hand and attend the funeral.
A second source tells PEOPLE Lopez reconnected with Ben Affleck, 48, during her trip before heading back to Miami. According to another source, while in L.A., the singer spent time with Ben, adding, They have kept in touch every day since their Montana trip.
The source added, Its a tricky situation since they live so far from each other, but they both seem committed to making things work.
As for how the Lets Get Loud singer has been, the source said, Jennifer is doing well. She seems very happy and excited about her future.

The impression I have from the first weeks of the Bennifer revival is that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are spending time together and pretty much ?back together,? but it?s not nearly as all-consuming as we want it to be and the media wants it to be. We thought that they first reconnected at the end of April, which is when Ben Affleck was seen getting picked up by Jennifer?s white Escalade. Then it turned out that Affleck had started writing Jennifer emails full of love and longing back in February, and we all had to adjust our timelines of the revival. Now ?sources? want to readjust everything once again. You know those emails full of longing that Ben was sending J.Lo back in February? Well, he was just reaching out to her as a ?friend.? And he thought she might be single. LOL.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopezs reunion came about organically.
Ben reached out to Jennifer as a friend, a source tells PEOPLE of how the former couple reconnected 17 years after they ended their relationship in 2004.
He was basically checking up on her, says the source. He was single and thought she might be single, too.
At the time, Lopez, 51, was still with then-fianc Alex Rodriguez. The former couple announced they were working through some things in March before officially parting ways in April. In January, Affleck, 48, had split with then-girlfrend Ana De Armas after first being romantically linked in early 2020.
It was in no way disrespectful, because he really thought she wasnt with Alex anymore, the source says of Affleck reaching out to Lopez.

I fully admit that I want Bennifer to stay together for the entire summer, just so we?ll have a fun gossip story to discuss during what was probably going to be a slow gossip season. Jennifer wants to ?get back? with Ben: Jennifer Lopez isnt ruling out getting back together with Ben Affleck, a source tells PEOPLE. Almost two weeks after the exes were spotted together outside of Lopezs Los Angeles home and then photographed together inside of a car together in Montana, a source close to the singer says Lopez, 51, is open to having a relationship with Affleck, 48.
No plans for the future: She wants to spend as much time with Ben as possible to see where this could go, says the source in this weeks issue of PEOPLE. While the two are spending more time together, the source adds, They are certainly not making any plans about the future. The source previously told PEOPLE Lopez had a great time with Ben, adding, She is happy with him and enjoys spending time with him.
The revival is coming at the right time: Ben and Jennifer were in the same mindset after their breakups, a Latin music source tells PEOPLE. Adds the source, Whether they end up together or not its good for both of them now. And not that surprising.

More than 17 years after their breakup, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez remain connected. The exes were spotted spending time together at Lopezs Los Angeles home on Friday, as shown by new photos of Affleck leaving a white Escalade SUV. The Gone Girl actor wore a T-shirt, jeans and was photographed holding a military green backpack as he exited the car. In other photos, Lopez is seen sitting in the car, wearing sunglasses, hoop earrings and her signature nude lip.
They have spent time together in L.A. over the past week, a source tells PEOPLE of the pair, who were in a relationship from 2002 to 2004. They have a lot of love for each other. They have always admired each other.

They postponed their 2003 wedding days before they were set to walk down the aisle, then officially split by January 2004. Despite going their separate ways, the two have remained friendly.

I?m really enjoying the vintage analysis of what OG Bennifer meant and how they really felt about each other back in the day. Personally, I think Ben was really obsessed with her at first so much so that he openly ruined her marriage to Cris Judd and then after about a year, he self-sabotaged because he was miserable. Like, he cared about Jennifer, but the whole thing had become a circus. I felt like Jen was like ?but it was always going to be that way? and he was like ?nah.? And she was like ?WHAT.? What?s interesting is that it?s now been 17 years since their breakup and suddenly we?re supposed to believe that they?ve always been on good terms this entire time? Nah. They weren?t.
