Perhaps I?m wrong, but Kim Kardashian really stopped wearing major pieces of jewelry following the 2016 Paris robbery. The robbers stole the giant diamond ring given to her by Kanye, among other pieces of jewelry she had brought to Paris that trip. One of the lessons Kim took away from that robbery was to stop showing off her high-priced jewels in public. I remember Kanye offering to buy her a replacement diamond and Kim was not into it. I think she still obviously had some major pieces of jewelry, including her engagement ring from Kanye, but she rarely wore them in public post-2016. So? maybe Kanye raided Kim?s jewelry box ahead of the divorce??
Kanye West was trying to sell jewelry he had bought for Kim Kardashian just days before she filed for divorce, a source has claimed. The rapper knew his marriage to Kim, who filed for divorce last week, was over and didnt want to be reminded of the past, the insider added.
In the last two weeks, Kanye was attempting to sell jewelry he had purchased for Kim to at least two top jewelers, the source told The Sun. His friends knew it was over at that point. He really wanted to stay together but she was done. Kanye recently said, I don?t want to be connected to the Kardashian brand anymore but he was so torn because he still very much loves Kim. Although he never ended up selling the jewelry he was talking about how he didnt want to be reminded of the past.

Even if I had been robbed at gunpoint and was too traumatized to wear my jewelry in public, I would still be incredibly pissed if my husband was trying to sell my jewelry behind my back. Those pieces were given as gifts! It would be one thing if that was part of their divorce settlement, that Kim would give back some of the gifts Kanye had gotten her. But to do it before she filed for divorce is so awful! God. Divorce him again! And, as always, Kim (or ?sources close to Kardashian?) won?t shut up when People Magazine calls there?s yet another story about how Kim is spending a lot of time with her family, and then the source added this:

Days later, the January 6th insurrection happened and there was a viral tweet making a joke about how Kris Jenner had organized the insurrection to change the subject from Kim?s third divorce. It was a funny joke, but the truth of the matter is that Kim is actually desperate for us to pay attention to the sh-tty state of her marriage. She?s been using People Magazine as her diary and therapist for the past year, telling them all about what?s going on with Kanye and what she?s thinking about their separation and divorce. Now that Kim has finally filed for divorce the news dropped last Friday she?s once again running to People to beg gossips to pay attention to her drama. Some highlights from like three separate People exclusives:
Kim is spending time with family during this difficult time: Although Kim and Kanye have been separated for months, it was still emotional for Kim to actually file for divorce, the source says. She spent the weekend taking care of herself and her kids. She is spending time with her mom, sisters and hasnt been working. Everyone is supportive. Kim feels very lucky to be surrounded by her big family.
Kim is disappointed: There is no drama between Kim and Kanye. Kim is mostly just disappointed that they couldnt figure out how to stay married. But it takes two people to create a happy marriage, the source says. Kim has felt Kanye is not willing to do the hard work and compromise.
They?re in agreement about the divorce terms: According to a source, the stars are in agreement over joint legal and physical custody, neither is contesting the prenup in place, negotiations have progressed and they are nearing a settlement. A separate source tells PEOPLE that the divorce proceedings, including their co-parenting plan, unfolded swiftly. The parenting plan and split of assets came together quickly, in the past few days, the source says. Kim and Kanye basically wanted the same thing.
Sources confirm that Kim is super-amazing: According to the source, Kardashian has been fair and generous as well as thoughtful and caring amid her split from West, who has bipolar disorder. Shes worried about sending him into another tailspin, because thats not good for anyone, especially the kids, the source says. So shes being as gentle and kind as she can be, while still standing up for what she feels she needs to stand up for. A second source says that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and the rapper are on the same page when it comes to their children. Both of them want nothing but the best for the kids, the source says. They want the kids to be happy. The kids will stay with Kim, but Kanye will be able to see them whenever he wants to. They will work out a schedule that is good for everyone.

It?s crazy because I?m actually on her damn side in this divorce and I believe that she has been very careful to do everything gently. I mean, I know well enough that no one ever wants to give Kim credit for anything positive, so these People leaks are just her way of preemptively defending herself. But YIKES!

Frankly, I think Kim was on edge when Kanye went full MAGA, but sure, running for president and simultaneously committing election fraud by coordinating with Jared Kushner and the Trump campaign did not help matters at all.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 40, filed for divorce from the rapper, 43, on Friday after nearly seven years of marriage. Amid the divorce news, West has been texting people and talking things through, a source tells PEOPLE.
Hes in that place of if only, says the source. If only I had done this, if only I hadnt done that. Hes processing things. He thinks that the Presidential run was the straw that broke the camels back. Before that, there was hope. After that, none. It cost him his marriage.

Kim is also divorcing him because he talked sh-t about her family as he was ?campaigning,? and because she?s just done with his whole deal these days. I would also imagine his recent ?Godly Preacher Kanye? act hasn?t helped matters either. People Magazine?s sources also said that Kanye is having a hard time with all of this:

The divorce filing ? and new developments ? come just days after a source told PEOPLE that Kanye was not doing well amid the couples split.
He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and theres nothing that can be done right now, the source said on Wednesday. He also knows what he is losing in Kim.

Kim Kardashian telegraphed this for two months: she filed for divorce from Kanye West, and the news came out on Friday, February 19th. I thought for a while that Kim wanted Kanye to file, and maybe she did, but in the end she was the one who formally pulled the plug. TMZ broke the news, but then People Magazine ran a series of exclusives about what Kim?s thinking and how Kanye feels.
Kim Kardashian has filed to divorce Kanye West after almost 7 years of marriage, but our sources say its as amicable as a divorce can be. Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couples 4 kids. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ Kanye is fine with the joint custody arrangement, and were told both Kim and Ye are committed to co-parenting together.
Theres a prenup and were told neither party is contesting it. In fact, our sources say they are already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement. The docs, filed by disso queen Laura Wasser, dont list a date of separation its listed as to be determined. The date is almost irrelevant because their split has been so well-chronicled in the news and social media.
It was during the last half of 2020 when things got super rocky for Kimye West launched his Presidential campaign on July 4 and weeks later held a bizarre campaign event in South Carolina. At one point, a sobbing Kanye told a story of a discussion he had with Kim talking about abortion when she was pregnant with their first child. It wasnt long after that when Kanye took a series of shots at the Kardashian/Jenner family on Twitter, at one point referring to the matriarch, Kris Jenner, as Kris Jong-Un.
Multiple sources with direct knowledge told us Kim was ready to call it quits after Kanyes outbursts, if not for Kanye going through a serious bipolar episode. She had felt it would be cruel to end the marriage when he wasnt doing well. Things got so rocky, the couple had been living separately for a few months. He was spending a lot of his time in Wyoming while she was in Calabasas with the kids. The issue? We were told it wasnt contentious or ugly but their differences in lifestyle and politics were chief, among others.

I think Kim seriously considered divorcing Kanye back in the end of 2016 and early 2017. Reportedly, she consulted with lawyers then and she weighed her options. In the end, she chose to let Kanye be Kanye and she just stayed in LA with the kids, while he was mostly in Wyoming. They lived completely separate lives as early as one year ago. I assumed, last year, that Kim didn?t file for divorce from Kanye during his manic episode because of what TMZ says she didn?t want to look bad, and she didn?t want to do more damage or leave Kanye when he was in such a bad place.
People Magazine also reported that everything is amicable so far, that they?ve been in agreement with their prenup terms and property division and joint custody. They?re apparently close to a settlement and I seriously doubt Kim will take him to the cleaners or vice versa. They?ve kept their finances separate this whole time except for their real estate. A source told People: They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family. And Kim is okay with it. As for the joint custody, there is one caveat, and TMZ had some very curious wording around it:
Kanye Wests mental health issues will not have an impact on Kim Kardashians move to share custody of their 4 kids, because theres always been a safety net in place and that wont change. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ Kim totally trusts Kanye with their kids. That said given their lifestyle, hes rarely alone with them. In good times and bad, there are almost always caretakers or family members around the children.
While the majority of time is spent with help our sources say Kanyes a great dad, and over the last few months even made a couple trips with just him and some of the kids no additional assistance. Our sources say Kanyes generally not around the kids when hes having a bipolar episode. Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody, but that doesnt automatically mean its a 50/50 split. Joint custody can be whatever the parents agree to, and historically, Kim cares for the children the lions share of the time and thats not expected to change. Kim feels Kanye is a great dad, and Kanye knows Kims a great mom as well.

Very interesting, right? Kim stresses that he?s a good father, that she trusts him with the kids, but for a while now, she?s had third parties around when Kanye is with the kids, so? it?s not like she actually trusts him to be alone with the kids for any significant amount of time. I?ve suggested previously that People & Kim have some kind of under-the-table deal for weekly exclusives about what?s going on in her life and the state of her marriage. I still believe that! At least this week?s update feels truthy. People?s sources claim that Kanye West is ?struggling? with the end of his marriage. This too is why Kim hasn?t filed for divorce yet I still believe that Kim is very wary of triggering a manic episode in Kanye, and she?s aware of how her moves might affect his mental health.
By all accounts, Kim Kardashian and estranged husband Kanye West are heading towards divorce ? and a source close to the rapper tells PEOPLE that he is struggling as reality sets in.
Kanye is not doing well, the source tells PEOPLE in its latest issue. He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and theres nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim.
According to sources, 2020 proved to be a trying year for the famous couple. In January 2021, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Kardashian plans to end her marriage with West. They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family, one insider told PEOPLE at the time. And Kim is okay with it.
In addition to Kardashians public support of West, she has also been a mediator between him and her family. She has defended him privately to her family, the source says. She has stood beside him at a time where a few wives would have done that.

Kim has made it clear that Kanye can talk to his children anytime he wants, says the source. She has never threatened to keep him from the kids. She only requires that he is not going to damage them. Kanye can FaceTime the kids anytime he wants. He hasnt been great about that, but everyone is encouraging him to do it.
Kim doesnt want to hurt him, the source continues. She just knows she cant be married to him anymore. He is very aware that she has been a good wife. He still loves her very much. But he understands.

I know this is Kim?s version of events, but I believe this? Weeks ago, we heard that Kanye was over the marriage too, that he couldn?t wait to divorce Kim, but that never rang true for me? Kim really has been ride-or-die, for better or for worse, and Kanye thought she would stay that way forever. She stayed with him even when he was saying and doing some horrendous sh-t. Plus, the current version of Kanye is super-churchy and very ?conservative.? That?s another aspect of it he thinks of himself as a man of God, who knows God?s will, and now he?s just some fallible dude whose wife wants a divorce.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West?s oldest child is North West. She?s seven years old, and she?ll be eight this June. While I haven?t paid much attention to the Kardashian-West kids in a while, I do think North is probably a lot like her dad in creativity and attitude. She seems like a good blend of both of her parents, actually, and it?s my hope that all of the kids got the best from both Kim and Kanye. It?s easy to forget it now because of Kanye?s perpetual MAGA state, but he was a sort of musical/artistic wunderkind, playing instruments and composing and producing music at a very young age. So now people wonder if North has inherited some artistry from her dad. Kim Kardashian posted this on her Instagram stories allegedly a painting done by North.
When I first saw this, I was like everyone else in that I assumed Kim was lying. But then I was like ?wait, how old is North? Is she at an age where she could paint this?? I thinkmaybe. It?s totally possible that Kim is lying but I have no idea why she would? It?s just too random for Kim to suddenly be like ?here?s this beautiful painting that my seven-and-a-half year old daughter did.?
So, obviously, people had some thoughts and those thoughts involved the dearly departed Bob Ross, who used to do lovely painting tutorials on PBS.

My working theory on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West is that she?s been done with him and their marriage for the better part of a year, probably longer. She?s thought long and hard about the best way to detach herself from him and her solution is playing out in front of us. I have no doubt that Kim and her team leaked the first stories about the separation and impending divorce as a way to force the moment to its crisis. I also have no doubt that Kim wants Kanye to be the one to file for divorce, that she doesn?t want to get hit with the charge of ?abandoning a mentally ill man.? So that?s where we are. Kanye has apparently moved a lot of stuff out of the Calabasas home they bought together, including 500 pairs of sneakers. Kim went on a girls? trip to Turks & Caicos to give Kanye the chance to move his sh-t out, and so that?s what he?s been doing this week while she was out of the country. Kim?s sources also told People Mag that at this point, Kim and Ye have no contact:
Kim Kardashian may legally still be married to Kanye West, but shes already begun living her life on her own. A source tells PEOPLE that the couple, who married in 2014, now have minimal communication as they continue to move toward an official split.

Though many people are aware of Kim and Kanyes rocky relationship status, the insider explains that Kim has yet to initiate formal proceedings because she is still working out the logistics of announcing the divorce. Nonetheless, the insider says their separation is completely official in her mind.
Likewise, a second source shares, Kanye is also completely done with the marriage and is moving on. He doesnt care what Kims priorities are with holding off on a divorce announcement, the second source explains. He will file before shes ready if he has to. He wants the divorce just as much as Kim does.

If Kanye ends up filing for divorce in the next month or so, I think Kim will have played this perfectly. I know y?all won?t give her credit for anything, but she?s been really smart about this very narrow issue of how to leave him and how to minimize the public criticism of her actions. In my mind, she?s done the best she could to help Kanye and take care of him when he is manic, and she?s really tired of the fact that he doesn?t *want* to be a full partner in their marriage, or a full partner in raising their children. Kim Kardashian lives her life out in the open with Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The show has been running for 20 seasons and 14 years. But? over time, I think I can safely say that the sisters have actually pulled away from the ?warts and all? coverage on KUWTK. I?m not a stan, nor am I a defender, but for years now, KUWTK is more like a ?curated? reality show, with its own parallel storylines and selective editing for real-life dramas. People swore up and down that Kim, like, organized her own traumatic robbery in Paris ?for the show.? She did not. The only thing about the robbery shown on KUWTK was the aftermath, with a traumatized Kim barely able to do anything but sit with her kids and try to process what happened.
Over the years, KUWTK has only shown highly selective parts of Kim?s marriage to Kanye West as well as the marriage disintegrated, Kim just gave herself other storylines, like fights with her sisters. So? I don?t really believe the new claims that Kim is ?saving her divorce drama? for the show. But that?s what a lot of people claim:

Page Six has exclusively learned. A source with knowledge of their show ? which is ending after more than a decade-long run and 20 seasons on E! later this year ? said the disintegration of Kim and Kanye?s marriage will feature heavily in the final storyline as they make their exit from the reality show.
The source said, ?the Kardashians intend to go out with a bang. They?ve filmed Kim discussing her marriage problems. But everybody involved is on a nondisclosure agreement, because the finale won?t screen until later in 2021.?
What is not clear is how much participation the E! show got from Kanye amid his separation from Kim. A separate source said Kanye is fine with his upcoming divorce. ?He understands Kim?s side has to spin that she is sick of him. So, again, KUWTK is not going to show ?fights? between Kanye or Kim, just like they never really showed the extent of Kanye?s mental illness, nor did they exploit Kanye by putting him on camera when he was manic. What it sounds like the big reveal, per sources is that Kim will be speaking on camera about how her marriage is over. Maybe they?ll even do a set-up where Kim is talking to her mom or Khloe about it. It?s not even clear to me that Kanye will be on-camera at all, especially since he?s been living in Wyoming for the past year?
Sources also say that Kanye is ?less than thrilled? about KUWTK covering the divorce. Again, I have to wonder if A) he really cares and B) he?s even on camera at all? I?ll criticize Kim freely about lots of things, but here?s my super bold take: she has every right to talk about HOW SHE FEELS about getting a divorce, and she has every right to do that for her reality show. I?m not really seeing why any of this is evil or anything. Manipulative? Sure, maybe. But what did people expect?

What?s even funnier is that I actually think Kim is really mad that so many other stories are pulling focus away from her marriage drama. She keeps leaking sh-t to People Magazine to remind people about it. It?s like she?s screaming ?don?t forget about MY melodrama!? I mean, I?m on Kim?s side about the divorce, but yeesh. It?s strange to see Kim performing this indecisive Hamlet act every week in People Magazine, but I have a new theory about why she?s doing it: I?m starting to wonder if Kim wants Kanye to be the one to file for divorce. This piece is what convinced me:

I think that?s why the Olivia Wilde-Jason Sudeikis split has picked up steam, btw. But people just forgot that Kim Kardashian is doing her Hamlet act over whether to file for divorce from Kanye. Its a new year, but Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still navigating a significant rough patch in their marriage. Multiple sources confirm that Kardashian, 40, has been struggling in her decision of whether or not to end her nearly seven-year union to West, on the heels of an exceedingly difficult year.
Kim and Kanyes marriage is beyond repair, says a family source. Kim is over Kanyes chaos, and at this point she just wants to focus on the kids and her own life.
The high-profile couple shares four children: daughters North, 7, and Chicago, who turns 3 on Friday, and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, who turns 2 in May. Despite social media posts showing seemingly happy family vacations to Wyoming and Colorado last year, sources say behind the scenes, Kardashian grew increasingly concerned about Wests behavior ? including his unlikely Presidential run and controversial and public statements about abortion, Kris Jenner and his marriage to Kardashian.
If I had to say the final straw, I believe it was a combination of the Presidential run and his Twitter rants, says an insider. It created havoc at home. And though Kim is well aware of his issues [West opened up about his bipolar disorder in 2018], and tried to help him, she realized it was futile.
Ultimately, they are not on the same page, says the source of Kardashian and West, 43. Kim knows what she wants to do with her life and Kanye is constantly all over the place. Continues the source: She isnt in a rush to file for divorce. But it is on her mind.

I don?t think Kim?s support was necessarily ?futile.? Time and time again over the past four years, Kim is the one who has shouldered the responsibility of getting Kanye help, or taking him away when he?s being batsh-t in public, or convincing him to stop tweeting, etc. But I can understand and I have understood, this whole time how it probably feels futile to her, or it feels like Groundhog Day, with Kanye having these increasingly awful manic episodes every five months or so. She?s worn out from dealing with it. I would have said sayonara years ago.
