News of the World purports to have the details of the custody agreement that Jude Law worked out with the mother of his baby and one-time desperate hookup, Samantha Burke. Law is to pay just $5,000 a month in child support and will see his baby daughter Sophia twice a year. He only met the five month-old baby for the first time earlier this month when he flew to Florida with his lawyer to work out custody. Law is also providing support for his three biological children with his ex wife Sadie Frost: sons Rafferty, 13, and Rudy, 7, and daughter Iris, 9. Still, $5,000 a month seem really low for a movie star with several endorsement contracts. News of The World’s story could be accurate - they’ve run exclusive stories that sound straight from Burke in the past.
Jude Law has agreed to meet his lovechild twice a year - after thrashing out a deal with the baby’s mum.
The Sherlock Holmes star held talks with Sam Burke at a hotel in Miami, Florida, to sort out visits to see daughter Sophia. It was also the first time Jude, 37, had seen the tot who was born five months ago.
A pal of model Sam said: “Jude will visit his daughter at least twice a year, once around Christmas.”
The written deal was thrashed out by Jude’s lawyer, along with child maintenance - believed to top $5,000 (3,292) a month - and an agreement not to talk about her fling with Jude.
Dad-of-four Law, who is back dating actress Sienna Miller, barely spoke to Sam, 25. The pal added: “He was quite stand-offish with her. He cuddled Sophia and admitted she looked beautiful but his visit was fleeting and seemed mainly businesslike.”
[From News of the World]
I’m thinking that Burke dropped her asking price in exchange for Law visiting their daughter. She has definitely capitalized on her tie to Law, but her need to have some sort of relationship with him seems to be clouding her already messed up judgment. She sounded so needy in her Hello! interview, and when her rep confirmed paternity when she was pregnant, she joked “Check back in six months. Maybe she and Jude will be getting married.” Jude probably flirted with her for ten minutes, promised to visit the baby, and patted himself on the back for saving hundreds of thousands in child support.
Jude hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend. Kaiser saw most of it and reports that he “was pretty good but didn’t do many skits.” She adds that he “looked nice though.” That man can charm the pants and the child support right off of you. Here’s a link to clips from Jude’s hosting gig as well as a recap.

After months of speculation, Jude Law finally connected with his five-month-old daughter Sophie in Florida last week.
The “Sherlock Holmes” stud visited Samantha Burke, the woman with whom he had a brief fling, in order to meet his youngest child.
And though the situation isn’t ideal, a source told press Jude wants to make sure he takes care of things on his end.
“Jude was very on edge about the meeting. The pregnancy wasn’t planned but he wants to do the right thing. It’s not like he can hide — as soon as Sophia can use the internet she can find out who her dad is.”

| Jude Law: my own Adonis-like beauty was a restraint | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

When I first saw this photo, my first thought was ?Why, hello, James Bond?? That?s what he looks like, right? Sexy and dashing and dangerous, like he could get you pregnant just be squinting. Well, I googled Jude just to see if he was up to anything that I could write about, and I found this epic, hilarious, smug-bastard interview with Jude that makes it pretty clear he knows how gorgeous he is. He tells a German publication: ?If I have a look around at the moment I feel great relief because finally others are entering the limelight. Men like Robert Pattinson must now play the Adonis. For me it was always a restraint, a restriction.? Oh, brother. Here?s more:
Jude Law is happy to surrender his status as a Hollywood heart-throb to ROBERT PATTINSON - insisting the young TWILIGHT actor has already taken his place.
Law, 37, is convinced he is now too old to be considered a pin-up, especially as so many young stars are breaking into the movie business and securing legions of loyal followers.
And the Brit is relieved he can finally shed his image as a Hollywood hunk - because he has always been uncomfortable with the title.
He tells Germany’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, “If I have a look around at the moment I feel great relief because finally others are entering the limelight. Men like Robert Pattinson must now play the Adonis. For me it was always a restraint, a restriction.?
“My goal was always to be recognized as a good actor but no one was interested in that, simply because society just wants to warm towards your appearance. This is the great blemish of society.?
“When you suddenly appear on the scene and you are the new face, everything centers on you. I experienced this in my mid-20s and I found it rather hard.?

Easy, Receding Hairline. Jude is saying that for all of these years, he was ?playing the Adonis? right? Now, don?t get me wrong. Jude was and is a beautiful man. But there?s nothing so ugly as a man who pontificates upon his own beauty. Jude is becoming? dare I say it? Jessica Biel-esque. What kills me is that even in the beginning of Jude?s career, he was recognized as a good actor. Yes, we talked about how lovely he was, but we always added ?? and he can act too.? Damn it, James Bond.

| Jude Law: being good never helped me, women like 'bad boys' | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jude Law has been having a surprisingly good few weeks. He?s back with Sienna Miller, who is probably the closest thing Jude has to a soulmate. His supporting/lead turn as Dr. ?Hotson? Watson was rewarded with a huge box office, and a Sherlock Holmes sequel is now pretty much definite. And he didn?t take too much of a hit when he managed to forget his fourth child (with random baby-mama Samantha Burke) while on The Late Show. Oh, and he still hasn?t met his fourth child. So does that make it a good month? I have no idea.
Anyway, as part of Sherlock?s promotion, Jude sat down for an interesting interview with Parade Magazine. I?ve never really heard Jude talk this way - he discusses how he?s never had any luck being a ?good boy? and that ?women like bad boys.? Jude also acknowledges what I think of as his self-defeating nature - just when his career in back on track, he screws up in his personal life. Jude says: ?People seem more interested in setting someone up as this bad person, and that disheartens me a little. We all mess up, but we’re equally capable of making it better, of healing wounds.? Aw. Now I feel for him a little.
Sherlock Holmes gave him his start.
“My first job or second job was on TV in the Sherlock Holmes TV series. I played a stable boy. It was much more staid and cerebral, nothing like what Robert and I do. We play Holmes and Watson getting their boots dirty and their knuckles sore and it was fun. I was very confident in Guy’s vision of how he wanted to attack this beloved legacy with a contemporary twist. If we felt a little pressure that was good thing. It just amps you up a bit.”
Bonding with Downey.
“Robert and I really did have a rapport. It was very much like Holmes and Watson, who were a team. We all have friends in our lives who dare us to do and go places that we wouldn’t necessarily want to go in our lives. But when you do, after you experience it, sometimes you feel more fulfilled. And the two of them together are exactly that. That’s what they did for each other. And there was some in that in my relationship with Robert.”
As for relationships with the opposite sex…
“I think women like bad boys. That’s been my experience. I just think it’s kind of a given. You know, at a certain age you figure out what works for you and being a good boy never worked for me. And if you’re a bad boy, they like it. But, eventually, you have to grow up and realize relationships are hard work. It’s like cultivating anything. They need attention.”
So cut him a little slack about his past.
“People seem more interested in setting someone up as this bad person, and that disheartens me a little. We all mess up, but we’re equally capable of making it better, of healing wounds. It’s just a matter of keeping your head on straight. There’s a downside to every life. There’s a downside to every career. And the downside to my career is the attention I get for what I do. But you learn to deal with it. It’s like a fly buzzing around your head. You just have to learn to ignore the fly.”
What’s really important.
“Being a daddy is what counts. I’ve been busy rehearsing that in real life for more than 10 years. I used to sleep until noon, but it’s not so bad to have to get up at 7 and give them breakfast. My daughter made me realize that if there’s anything that’s going to make a man of you, it’s having your will broken by a little girl.”
Recovering from Hamlet.
“There’s nothing that prepares you for reading it for the first time, when you realize you’re playing the part. But once you get on stage you feel better. Kenneth Branagh directed me and he’s played Hamlet four times. He told me, ‘The first thing you realize, when you take on the role of Hamlet, is that you are Hamlet. There is no character Hamlet. Every actor who plays Hamlet is themselves, so Hamlet becomes you.’ That sounds kind of terribly romantic and exciting, but also bloody terrifying. But I have to say Kenneth was right. It was daunting, and I’m ready for a rest, but it was great to be back on stage, especially on Broadway.”
Some advice he took to heart.
“My dad used to tell me that if I was going to be late for something, then I have to enjoy being late. I think it means if you’re running late, don’t get uptight and worry about it, sit back and enjoy the day until you get to the place you’re going. So I always thought that was a great piece of advice.”
[From Parade]
I want to like Jude, you know? When I?m watching him in films, sometimes I?m just blown away by him. He was/is a very talented actor, but I just wish he didn?t come across so skeezy in interviews and in life. I mean, ?bad boy?? Seriously? What are we, 13 years old? Grow up and man up. If he?s going to stay with Sienna, that sounds like an okay plan. It might keep him from impregnating random women? except probably not. Sigh? oh, Jude. I will continue to have mixed feelings about you.

Continuing along with his “Sherlock Holmes” promotional duties, Jude Law visited “Good Morning America” in Times Square on Friday morning (December 18).
Fresh off of a red carpet premiere appearance the previous evening, the 36-year-old English actor seemed in a chipper mood as he hopped out of his chauffeured ride and headed inside ABC studios for the day’s interview.
Meanwhile, Jude also recently chatted with David Letterman about his fatherly duties over the holidays – during which time he seems to have forgotten about one of his kiddies (he has three with ex Sadie Frost and one with ex-girlfriend Samantha Burke).
Talking about family tradition, Law said that this year will be spent at the beach, adding, “I usually try to take the children on a bit of an adventure.”
Afterwards, Dave asked, “How many kids?” to which Jude proceeded to incorrectly reply, “Three.”

Jude Law was on Letterman last night to promote Sherlock Holmes. Throughout his meager publicity trail for the film, no journalist has been asking Jude any questions about the Samantha Burke/baby-daddy situation. It?s my understanding that the ?no questions about my fourth child? rule is something established before the interview, probably by Jude?s publicist to whatever media outlet. So it?s interesting that David Letterman is the one to come the closest to asking about it (video here). When David and Jude were talking about holiday plans, David asked how many children Jude had, and Jude responded ?three?. Well? he has three kids with Sadie Frost, and one with Samantha. Ugh.
Jude Law is quite the super-sleuth when it comes to helping solve mysteries as Dr. John Watson in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes film?but when it comes to playing the role of doting dad, however, Jude can’t seem to remember his lines.
Speaking with David Letterman Thursday, Law told Letterman he had a fun beach vacation planned for his children this holiday season.
When Letterman asked him how many kids he has, Law responded, “Three.”
Law does have three children with his former wife, Sadie Frost, but — Oops! — there’s a fourth he forgot to mention: baby Sophia, who was born September 22 to Law’s one-time fling, model Samantha Burke.
Hopefully, he remembers to keep those checks coming. Sherlock Holmes opens in theaters Christmas Day.
[From Radar]
Here?s the thing - I don?t blame Jude for not wanting to talk about the Burke situation, or to force journalists to not ask any questions, or even to try to distance himself from the baby-mama, Samantha, who seems a little crazy. But on the off chance Jude does get asked about it, I would expect him to at least admit that there is a fourth child in the mix. It?s just an a-hole move to act like the baby doesn?t exist. It?s not the baby?s fault that mama is a crazy and daddy can?t keep it zipped.

Last week, the New York Daily News ran a report detailing how Jude Law and Sienna Miller are probably bangin? again. They?re both on Broadway right now - in separate plays. Apparently, they?ve been seeing each other, reminiscing, getting drunk, and you know, getting busy. The two were once engaged, for those who may remember. They got together in late 2003/early 2004, got engaged around Christmas 2004, and then the nanny thing happened in 2005. After that, they were on and off for about a year. By all accounts, they did remain friends, and Sienna brings Jude up in pretty much every interview since. Now Star Magazine has a report that Sienna and Jude spent Thanksgiving together? getting pizza. There better be turkey on that pizza!
Turkey wasn’t on the menu for Jude Law and Sienna Miller during their dinner date on Thanksgiving ? but pizza and PDA were!
The Brits, who are both living in Manhattan while appearing in roles on Broadway, celebrated the American holiday together at the Italian restaurant Emporio in the Nolita section of New York City.
Arriving just after midnight on Thursday, Jude and Sienna ? who are starring in Hamlet and After Miss Julie, respectively ? took a table, where they ordered pizza ? and a $350 bottle of wine.
“They were offered a private table in the back, but Jude and Sienna turned it down,” an insider tells Star. “They had no problem flaunting their love right in the middle of the restaurant. They definitely looked like they were head-over-heels for each other.”
Although their reps denied recent reports that they’d reconciled, the couple ? who broke off their engagement in 2006 following his cheating scandal with his kids’ nanny ? didn’t skimp on public displays of affection.
“They came in holding hands and kept touching each other and kissing throughout the entire meal,” says the insider. “They only had eyes for each other!”
Jude picked up the check ? leaving $100 tip ? and they left together in the same car.
The actor also recently made headlines when model Samantha Burke, whom he briefly romanced last year, gave birth to his daughter, Sophia, in September. Several weeks after the baby’s birth, Samantha told a British magazine that Jude hadn’t travelled to Florida to meet the child, nor had he sent any presents.
He has three other children with his ex-wife, Sadie Frost.
[From Star Magazine]
Yeah, speaking of Jude?s fourth child (that we know of), he will eventually meet baby Sophia, right? I mean he can?t keep making excuses about it, can he? I realize he doesn?t want a relationship with Stalker McBaby-Mama, but he could pop into Florida and spend two seconds with his child. Instead, he spends all of his free time filling in for Balthy Getty. Jude?s better than that! But not by much.

A serial philanderer and a compulsive nymphomaniac! How could this possibly go wrong? It’s like it was written in the stars. Or at least in “Syphilis and You: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding Your STDs.” Congratulations to the happy couple!
