On Monday, I wrote a sort of ?placeholder? story about Bennifer, as did People Magazine. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez spent the Independence Day long-weekend on separate coasts, playing games with their wedding rings. Both got pap?d a lot. There are still no announcements of either divorce or reconciliation. People Mag?s big exclusive was ?Jennifer seems fine.? My gut tells me that Jennifer would never ?leave? Ben or be the one to say ?we are getting a divorce.? No matter what, Ben is still the love of her life. So it?s up to Ben to determine what?s next. That?s sort of what Page Six?s sources are saying too J.Lo is spending time at her home in the Hamptons and letting Ben figure out what he wants.
A reconciliation between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez seems slimmer by the day amid ongoing divorce rumors, a source exclusively tells Page Six. An insider close to the couple tells us that, while the singer remains ?smitten? with her husband, she has embarked on a summer of ?health, happiness and joy? for herself and her family.
?Nothing can break her spirit,? the source adds. ?She wants to have a summer full of fun and laughter.?
Earlier this month, Page Six reported that their marriage has been ?over for months? and Lopez seemingly confirmed that as she posted a clip of her 2021 music video for ?Cambia el Paso? on Instagram Sunday. The empowering tune features the lyrics, translated from Spanish to English, ?Her life is better now without him ? She doesn?t need anyone to be well / She does not fail, she does not fail.? Lopez then asserts, ?He doesn?t deserve to have her in his arms.?
The update comes as Lopez, 54, continues to enjoy the summer without Affleck, 51, despite the two still wearing their wedding rings. Over the July 4th weekend, she was spotted looking happy and carefree while enjoying a bike ride with her longtime pal and vocal coach, Stevie Mackey, in the Hamptons, N.Y. She was also seen shopping in Bridgehampton with her manager, Benny Medina, and out and about with her child Emme.
Nonetheless, multiple sources tell us that Lopez who has continuously called the Oscar winner the love of her life still feels the same way. We?re told by another source that, amid the rumored split, Lopez has been spending a lot of time with her twins, Emme and Max, 16.
?When they?re not at their summer activities she?s with them,? the source tells us.

My theory has morphed into: she?s trying to make him chase her. She?s showing him what he?s missing. She?s trying to do ?absence makes the heart grow fonder.? He needed space so she?s giving him tons of space and letting him figure it out. Figure out if he wants another marriage to crash and burn, figure out if he?s actually happier without her. We?ll see.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are probably close to being completely done. What a waste, all of it. Ben really wrote love letters to Jennifer when she was engaged to Alex Rodriguez, then she quickly extracted herself from that engagement and went all-in with Ben soon after. I think they were happy for a year or so, but reality came crashing down on them at some point in the past year. I hesitate to say it was ALL about J.Lo?s This Is Me? Now projects, but I?m sure the album, music film and documentary did not help at all. It wasn?t all about the Beverly Hills mansion either, but that didn?t help. Now Page Six is saying that Bennifer is definitely OVER.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have tried their best to put on a united front ? but the couple?s marriage has allegedly been over for months, we hear. According to sources, they?ve been apart since March, but Affleck is ?very protective of Jennifer.?
Rumors of the couple?s split hit a fever pitch in May after Affleck was noticeably absent from J.Lo?s side at major red carpet events ? like the Met Gala, which she co-chaired this year. He also didn?t accompany her to the premiere of her new Netflix project, ?Atlas.?
Lopez then added fuel to the rumor mill when she liked an Instagram post about unhealthy relationships. ?You can?t build a relationship with someone who is disconnected from themselves,? said the post.

The premiere for This Is Me? Now: A Love Story happened in February of this year. I said at the time that the vibe was off and that Ben seemed to be phoning it in/detatching. It would not surprise me at all if that was basically when the beginning of the end. Meanwhile, Ben and Jen are obviously unloading the Beverly Hills mansion, but Page Six also says that they?re unloading some artwork too. Yeah? that says divorce to me. Selling real estate AND artwork, while living separately and barely seeing each other? We?ll probably get a divorce announcement this week or next.

Jennifer Lopez?s recent solo trips to Italy and Paris were probably not the best sign for her marriage. J.Lo canceled her summer tour citing family issues, and there was some hope that perhaps Jennifer and Ben Affleck would spend the summer reconnecting and working on their marriage after a difficult year. Ben and J.Lo saw each other this past week, the first time (that we know of) in more than two weeks. They were seen at the same office building, where they both arrived and exited separately. As I said, it?s giving ?signing the divorce papers.? One big issue is that Ben hated the house they bought last year, the Beverly Hills mansion/money pit which was supposed to be for their blended family. Ben moved out of the Beverly Hills mansion two months ago and began renting a place in Brentwood, close to Jen Garner?s home. Well, now People Magazine says that while J.Lo was away in Italy and Paris, Ben moved all of his crap out of the Beverly Hills mansion.
Ben Affleck is moving his belongings out of his shared home with Jennifer Lopez, a source tells PEOPLE.
More than one month after PEOPLE first reported that Affleck, 51, and Lopez, 54, were living separately in Los Angeles as they dealt with strife in their marriage, a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE that the Academy Award-winning filmmaker moved all of his things out of the couples Beverly Hills mansion before Lopez returned from a recent trip to Europe.
?Ben continues to live at the Brentwood rental. He?s been there for about two months now, another source says. He seems okay. He?s been at his office every day and seems focused on work. He?s also spending time with his kids.?
Affleck and Lopez, who married in July 2022 after famously rekindling their romantic relationship, put the mansion they have shared together in Beverly Hills since June 2023 on the market earlier this month, as a source told PEOPLE.
The couple appear to have spent time together as recently as June 26, when they were photographed separately entering a building in West Hollywood, where they both maintain offices, a few hours apart. Per TMZ, Affleck arrived around 10 a.m. in a suit and with a duffel bag. Lopez, who is set to star in two upcoming movies for Affleck and Matt Damons production company, was photographed leaving the building hours later.

The thing is, this could be a confirmation that their divorce is inevitable, or it could be a confirmation of nothing more than they?re putting that money pit back on the market. In this case, I think both things could be true. Their marriage is in shambles AND they?re selling the Beverly Hills place. Why wouldn?t Ben move his sh-t out, you know? I think the house has already been listed! That being said, it feels notable that he moved out while Jennifer was out of the country. I will be so sad if the prediction of a Fourth of July divorce announcement comes true.

Good lord, there are so many strong opinions about Bennifer these days. Strong opinions about Bennifer the couple, and strong opinions about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck individually. For what it?s worth, I?m still rooting for Bennifer as a couple but I acknowledge that both Ben and Jen can be (and often are) enormously problematic. That being said, there?s way too much bullying of J.Lo these days and it?s giving me flashbacks to the original Bennifer relationship, where there were all of these racist dogwhistles thrown around about Jen, and she was given sole agency over a complicated relationship and failed engagement. Jennifer is an ahole? but so is Ben.
Last Friday, Jennifer announced that she was canceling her planned tour in support of her flop album, This Is Me? Now. The ticket sales were in the toilet and very few people wanted any of this. Instead of refusing to acknowledge that and barreling ahead with the tour, J.Lo waved the white flag. She clearly wants to spend this summer working on her marriage too, which I think is a good idea.
On Sunday, Jen stepped out with Ben at his son Samuel?s basketball game. Jennifer Garner was there too, but everyone arrived separately. Ben and J.Lo greeted each other with air kisses, but? they left together and Ben drove them to Jack In the Box for lunch. It?s all very suburban. J.Lo used to like that about Ben, that he was a normal guy from Boston who loves his Dunkin and his fast food. Does she still love it?
Also: I fking LOVE J.Lo?s jeans in these photos. They?re so retro! Like, she wore this kind of cut during the original Bennifer relationship. Everything about her style here is so 2003 to me.

Here are some photos of Jennifer Lopez on May 24th her Atlas promotion was over and she was back in the dance studio, preparing for her tour, one would assume. Her manager Benny Medina was with her. I have to say, I find it fascinating to see how Benny is handling the Bennifer drama. He?s really keeping calm and not panicking he?s letting the split rumors hang around (there doesn?t seem to be anything he can do about that), but he?s not making it worse or making any big pronouncements about ?it?s over? or ?of course they?ll absolutely reconcile.? That?s the general vibe coming from J.Lo and Ben Affleck too it?s like they?re giving each other time and space, and in that time and space, they?re not consumed with melodrama about their marriage. This seems to be the message coming from Jennifer?s camp:

It feels possible, to me, that this is less about a permanent estrangement and more about Ben and Jen?s busy schedules this summer. Ben is still filming The Accountant 2, Jennifer is preparing to go on the road in a month. The source adds that Garner, who is dating chairman and CEO of Cali Group John Miller, likes that [Lopez] lives a healthy lifestyle and supports Ben?s sobriety. Jen wants that for Ben.

Y?all, I don?t even know what?s happening with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez anymore. InTouch Weekly got the ball rolling last week when they claimed that Original Bennifer was headed for divorce and it wasn?t even Ben?s fault. That?s when other outlets got involved People Magazine reported that Ben and J.Lo hadn?t been seen together in 47 days, then their sources confirmed that Ben and Jen were living separately in LA. Us Weekly?s sources claimed that they?ve been on the outs for weeks, if not months. Then on Friday, they were seen together at a school play for one of Ben?s kids they arrived separately but they were photographed together.
These photos are from Sunday Jennifer arrived at a Brentwood movie theater separately from Ben, but they ended up leaving together and grabbing dinner at BOA Steakhouse. He drove, they were photographed at multiple locations and they seemed to be sending a signal to the public that they?re not divorcing? yet. They?re working through their sh-t, maybe. It?s worth noting that Friday?s joint appearance was for one of Ben?s kids, and Sunday?s theater trip was seemingly for a school event for Emme. So Ben and Jen are still showing up for their stepkids. And I?ve always felt that Ben completely adores Emme in particular. I wonder if Emme is telling them to work out their sh-t.
Over the weekend, a source told Entertainment Tonight: Jen and Bens relationship is not over yet, but they have been staying in separate homes and the tension has been high. They are taking a second to figure out what each of them is going through and wants. Both of them have been very down. High tension? Okay. Ben was also seen without his wedding ring over the weekend, but he wore his ring for Sunday?s outing.
Again, Jennifer has a movie premiere tonight. Will Ben show up? Is this all just gossip for Jen to promote her movie? Or is this just two melodramatic Leos being melodramatic??

The thing about real estate is weird too, because Jennifer has been looking at other houses, but I think that?s just her thing? In 2022, Jennifer Lopez: Halftime came out. It?s worth a watch J.Lo is very raw in the documentary, and there are some genuinely intimate moments caught on camera as she?s promoting Hustlers and preparing to perform at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime show. She?s upset that Hustlers didn?t get any awards-season love, but she tried to just eat the pain and keep moving, and there?s a really sweet moment where she?s rehearsing for the Halftime show and Emme comes in and convinces Jennifer to check out the kids? dance class next door (and that moment inspired an incredible visual in the halftime show).
I bring up Halftime because it?s one of my favorite celeb-documentaries in recent years, and I?m genuinely looking forward to watching her new doc, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. It?s supposed to be a companion piece to her new album (This Is Me? Now) and her musical film (This Is Me? Now: A Love Story). The musical was hilariously bad to me but others feel differently and so be it. But I will devour this doc, which comes out today. Jennifer let cameras into the home she shares with Ben Affleck and their kids, and cameras follow her around as she?s making the album and the musical film. It should be chaotic and TMI. Speaking of, here?s a little preview of coming attractions:
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck?s past relationship strife is water under the bridge. In her new Amazon Prime documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, the Waiting for Tonight singer, 54, opens up about the ways in which she and the Air star, 51, have found harmony together after pressing pause on their relationship for nearly 20 years.
At one point, Affleck asks Lopez if she?s forgiven him, or is angry at him.
?I think I was angry at you for a long time,? she tells him in the doc. ?But that heartbreak set both of us on a course to figuring ourselves out to being better people. I think I?ve forgiven you all the way. I think I need to forgive myself [for] some things.?
After meeting on the set of their movie Gigli in 2002, the pair were engaged later that year, and were set to be married in September 2003. But days before, they postponed the wedding, citing ?excessive media attention.? After briefly splitting in the wake of the canceled nuptials, they officially called it quits in January 2004.
In the documentary, director Dave Meyers ? who helmed This Is Me?Now: A Love Story ? says that when Lopez and Affleck broke up, it was ?catastrophic? ? and the On the Floor artist explains that losing him was hard because he wasn?t just the love of her life, but her best friend.

In that sliding-doors situation of Ben not sabotaging the engagement and going through with the 2003 wedding? it would have been a completely different kind of heartbreak for both of them. They wouldn?t have survived as a couple for very long, and Ben would have had to scratch the sabotage itch in many other ways. As Jennifer Garner knows. There was always something to be said for coming back together in their late 40s/early 50s, at a point in their lives where the biggest self-sabotages are behind them. Hopefully. I guess I?m saying that I understand why J.Lo was mad at him for a while and why she?s not mad at him now. They both had to figure out a lot of their sh-t separately. And I?m still not convinced that they?ve figured everything out, but whatever. God bless. I?ll watch it.

As many know, I have been a longtime supporter, promoter and enjoyer of all things Bennifer Redux. I rooted for them to get back together and I was beyond pleased when it all came together in 2021. In J.Lo?s mind, Ben Affleck was the one who got away. In Ben?s mind, he had a lot of regrets about how he cracked under the bright hot spotlight. They came back together when they were older and wiser. They seemed committed to not making the same mistakes as the first time around. They gave less of a fk about what people said about them. The culture changed too what was widely mocked in 2003 is celebrated in 2024. So, that?s where I was a longtime Bennifer Defender. I believed in them and I hoped that Ben wouldn?t fk it up. Guess what? Jennifer is the one fking it up.
These are photos from last night?s premiere of This Is Me? Now: A Love Story. That is the ?musical film? Jennifer produced alongside her new album of the same name. In her Variety cover story this week, Jennifer makes it clear that no one believed in this musical film, to the point where she had to self-finance to the tune of $20 million. Not only that, many of J.Lo?s longtime friends and allies were like ?girl, please don?t do this, this is absolutely bonkers and way too much.? Even Khloe Kardashian refused to take part in the musical. Ben appears in the musical, and the whole thing is about how it took her nearly 20 years to get back to him. Not only that, she did a documentary about their love!!
All of which to say, at the premiere, Ben seemed to be recreating some of the 2002-03 photos where he appeared trapped and looking for the exit ramp. Jennifer wore Zuhair Murad I don?t like this, but whatever, it?s not offensive. I really have a pit in my stomach about everything else though. I mean, maybe the reaction will be ?this is so camp, we love it.? But good lord, I wish J.Lo could just BE happily married and not have to make a musical film and a documentary about her fourth marriage.

Bennifer has been relatively quiet for months. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been seen a few times walking arm in arm down a street, or going to dinner, or having an argument in a car but it was an incredibly quiet summer for them, and I imagine it will be a quiet fall. I?m fine with that I wish them well and I believe in them. I believe that it?s different now, that Ben has had enough of scratching his self-destructive itch, that he?s really making an effort to ensure that this marriage works. This is one of those rare situations where it feels like ?no news is good news.? Now, Page Six and other outlets are desperately trying to convince people that there?s drama behind the scenes, especially with their blended family. ?Sources? shut it down:

I actually believe this? I don?t think Garner wants him back and I think she?s happy to see him with J.Lo. Or rather, Garner got there eventually, and I would also assume that J.Lo made an effort as well. I find the blended family aspect fascinating it?s clear that Emme and Seraphina were instantly tight, just as it was clear that Ben felt comfortable with J.Lo?s twins right away. As for Marc Anthony? from what?s I?ve heard, he?s barely involved with those kids, but whatever. Anyway, this is just my update I think Ben & J.Lo are fine, despite the efforts to make them sound like their marriage is already full of drama.
