At first, I only saw Drew Barrymore?s dress - at last night?s premiere of Going the Distance - from the waist up, and I thought it was a cheap-looking cocktail dress. I was very disappointed, because Drew recently brought the glamour and the beauty to a recent red carpet for Nylon - she looked amazing then, not so much last night. I don?t care for her ?growing out the blonde? hair (which needs to be brushed), and now that I?ve seen that the dress is a full-length gown, I still think it looks cheap. Very Vegas showgirl.
As far as Drew?s costar and on-and-off boyfriend Justin Long? well, who knows what?s going on with them? Allegedly, they quietly split up a few months ago, but most people have noted that Justin and Drew seem back ?on? for this promotional tour. Friends with benefits? Sure. Especially if the dude loves going downtown, as Justin Long seems to adore. I don?t really find Justin attractive, but he seems like he?s a nice guy, so whatever.
Two more people of note were at the premiere - Christina Applegate and her baby bump in a vivid purple, and Kate Beckinsale. Now, Christina is actually in the movie. Beckinsale is not. But Kate still tried to out-do the stars!

Continuing their promotional tour, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were spotted at the Los Angeles premiere of their new movie ?Going the Distance? last night (August 23).
The ?Never Been Kissed? babe and the ?Accepted? stud both looked to be having a marvelous time as they arrived at Grauman?s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Set to open in theaters nationwide on September 3rd, ?Going the Distance? also stars Christina Applegate, Charlie Day, and Ron Livingston.
The movie?s studio just released another trailer for the film, featuring more dialogue and scenes of the characters interacting. Smells like the date movie of the season!

Continuing their press tour for ?Going the Distance,? Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were spotted out at BBC Radio 1 studios in London, England today (August 20).
The ?50 First Dates? babe and the ?Dodgeball? stud both looked a bit tuckered out from some serious partying the night before as they exited their interview on the Sarah Cox show.
In a recent interview, Justin confessed that he and Drew still love each other despite the romantic hardship in their past.
?We've been through the whole gamut of the heights of love to the depth of heartbreak. I mean, we've been on quite a journey. The truth is, we do love each other, I pray to God she's always in my life. We were friends before this, and at the heart of what we are and will be, we are friends, and that trumps everything else.?

The 35-year-old actress sported an edgy, chic ensemble as she made her way into the vehicle that was waiting to whisk her away for publicity duties.
In the flick, Ms Barrymore stars alongside on/again, off/again boyfriend Justin Long - whom she has nothing but great things to say about.
Although they are rumored to be apart at the moment, Drew told press, ?I just really wanted to get the chance to work with Justin because he has one of the sharpest wits of anyone I know.?

Drew Barrymore went to a party hosted by Nylon Magazine last night, and this was her look. I was going through the photos of her, and I was kind of amazed by how gorgeous she looked in every single pic. Usually Drew is self-defeating with her styling, mucking up at least one thing, or posing on the red carpet like the hippie-dippy flower child she is. Last night was different - an elegant beaded knee-length dress, beautiful, simple hair and flawless makeup. Is this the Drew we?ve been waiting for? Has she finally grown into the stylish, competent, intelligent, capable woman we?ve been waiting for?
Or is the look too much? Does it age her? Because Drew no longer looks like a 20-something rocker chick/groupie. She looks great for her age (35), but she looks her age too, you know? I don?t know, I really like this. I hope this version of Drew sticks around.
Guess who else was at the Nylon party, by the way? Cue the theme from Jaws:
Ugh. Peaches. THIS BITCH. Whatever. More pretty pictures of Drew!

| Drew Barrymore Can Smell Love | Added 14 years ago | Source: Yeeeah |

Mary Katherine Gallagher might have liked to smell her own armpits, but at least she didn’t go sniffing other people’s BO like Drew Barrymore. Says Digital Spy,
Drew Barrymore has said that she likes to keep hold of boyfriends’ sweaty t-shirts so that she can smell the love between them.
TheWhip It director revealed toBang Showbiz her belief that a person’s scent can evoke powerful feelings of passion, desire and devotion.
“Love smells good – like somebody’s skin,” she mused. “It’s amazing to me that, when you fall in love with someone, you just start to love the way they smell.
“If I have to go away from someone I say, ‘Wear this t-shirt for five days in a row, then I’m going to take it with me’.”
Barrymore also argued that sex has the power to ruin a friendship: “Don’t tell me it hasn’t happened to you. You f**ked a friend and you’re like, ‘S**t, it’s not going to be the same. We had everything. Why did you f**k me?’ And then you can’t be friends any more.”
Oh yeah, I know all about smelling love. It’s that smell that my ex had when he’d come home from a night out with the boys at Flesh Nightclub. It had top notes of dirty coochie along with a blossoming heart of overflowing ashtray and a trailing endnote of shame and degradation. It might sound like a cheap enough scent, but it ended up costing almost the whole of our savings.

| Drew Barrymore on Marie Claire UK: 'Expectations are the mother of deformity' | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?m pretty sure that this Drew Barrymore photo shoot and cover profile has been at least partially seen in an American edition of Marie Claire a few months ago. Or maybe I?m just thinking about her Elle cover? That could be it. Because the photos look pretty similar, and she says some of the same stuff. Anyway, in the interview, Drew won?t confirm or deny that she and The Vadge Whisperer, Justin Long, are broken up or still together, but of course Drew has to go on and on about love and relationships. Because that?s who Drew is. She?s the girl who loves to talk about love. Sigh - I want Drew to talk about something else.
Drew Barrymore on love:
?I?m happy to say that, at 35 years old, I feel I know less than ever,? she says with a smile. ?But in a liberating way. I?m trying to figure out how to make relationships work. The only thing I know is that there aren?t any rules. There should be no infrastructure on how a couple is supposed to work. Life isn?t like that.?
She calls herself an old-fashioned romantic, exasperated by today?s texting, Tweeting, Facebooking culture. She wants to be swept off her feet; she wants to receive handwritten letters and hand-made gifts, to hear someone?s voice.
?The fact that I?m begging for a phone call is pathetic in this age of technology,? she admits. ?Plans are made by text ? I can?t stand it. My ex, Fabrizio [Moretti, drummer with The Strokes], and I used to always make each other things for Valentine?s Day. I loved that. I know it was something we looked forward to and was really cool. I encourage people to make things for each other ? it?s so beautiful.?
She says she collects old typewriters, loves the written word. She has a computer, but fears how technology is changing the way we interact with each other.
?I just don?t like this compulsive, instantaneous, over- information, lack-of-privacy, weirdo aspect of the world,? she says. ?If you meet someone, they already know everything. What about showing up on the date and saying, ?What do you do for a living? Who are your friends?? Yes, you can avoid maybe a serial killer, but who f-cking knows? I am a romantic and it scares me??
I ask Barrymore what she actually wants from a relationship and, without a beat, she says, ?definitely laughter?. I ask her what love is and she pauses, closes her eyes and grasps for the ungraspable.
?It smells good ? like somebody?s skin,? she says eventually. ?It?s amazing to me that, when you fall in love with someone, you just start to love the way they smell. If I have to go away from someone, I say, ?Wear this T-shirt for five days in a row, then I?m going to take it with me.??
She knows what love should sound like, what it should feel like, clearly what it should smell like, but she?s still grasping for what it actually is. ?I?m not an aficionado on the subject right now,? she admits. ?Some of the things I thought were a certain way have revealed themselves to be quite different, so I feel very awake and very open-hearted and open-minded. I?d like to approach certain things differently. I feel like I?m learning a lot right now. I?m not the teacher, I?m the student ? I want to try new things.?
Drew Barrymore on Sex & relationships
?Oh, I?ve had successful phone sex ? it can work,? she says with a twinkle in her eye. ?I think it?s f-cking weird ? it?s super weird. I totally tried it, though, with a little success at one point in my life, but it was just a thing you try, like wearing orange for a while. I don?t think it?s something I could live my life with. What makes me happy right now is something very tangible and that?s the people I know that I really, really like and love and get such a sense of happiness from. My tribe.?
?Notice how much f-cking easier friendships are ? because expectations are the mother of deformity. And, also, the minute you have sex, it changes everything.?
[From Marie Claire UK]
?Expectations are the mother of deformity?? WTF? I?m not going to be able to get that out of my head now. Oh, and ?the minute you have sex, it changes everything?? Thank you, Dr. Barrymore, I only learned that when I was 14 years old!
Don?t get the wrong idea - I actually like Drew. I just want her to portray herself as a bit more grown up in interviews, you know? That?s my biggest complaint about her. She?s a successful producer, an in-demand actress, a survivor of the industry. I get that she?s an optimist and a romantic, but enough, Drew. For real.

She?s no stranger to magazine covers, and Drew Barrymore graces the front of ELLE Magazine's August 2010 issue.
The ?Never Been Kissed? babe looks lovely in the photos and even opens up about her life in the accompanying interview.
Regarding her singlehood, Drew explained, ?If you?re 35 and single and it?s a choice, it feels fine. So I didn?t settle with the wrong person yet. Big deal!?
Barrymore also noted that she?s not afraid of getting older. ?I don?t want to be vain or fearful, and I don?t think I?ll do anything [in terms of plastic surgery], but if I want to do something, I will. From my perspective, there?s no reason to be afraid of aging, because if you age, you?re lucky! The alternative is death.?
