Drew Barrymore has a new boyfriend! And she?s suddenly showing him off on a daily basis too. My first thought is ?good for her? considering that on-again/off-again thing with Justin ?Cunnilingus? Long went on for much too long. Drew needed someone new, and she got somebody. His name is Will Kopelman, and Us Weekly describes him as a ?socialite type and a playboy.? Gossip Cop is more specific, describing him as ?an art consultant and son of Arie Kopelman, who ran Chanel.? WTF is an art consultant? Like, he just hangs around galleries and makes comments about art? He tells rich people what art to buy? That seems like an interesting gig. Oh, and my new title is Gossip Consultant.
I also tend to wonder if ?son of Arie Kopelman, who ran Chanel? is supposed to be rich-person shorthand for ?his daddy?s got money.? Will certainly dresses like it, if these photos are supposed to reflect a casual outing. Will?s outfit reminds me of, like, the Princeton alum at his 20 year reunion. Ivy League, totally. I wonder if Will has money of his own, or if it?s all daddy?s? How much does art consulting pay?
Gossip Cop also has an insider who claims that it?s ?too early? to call Will a boyfriend yet. They?ve only been spotted together for about two weeks, and a source tells Us Weekly that it is ?a very new relationship and they?re taking things slowly.? Photo ops this early? Seems sketchy? but it?s Drew. She loves big, she loves fast.

Not shy about showing their newfound affection for one another, Drew Barrymore and her new beau Will Kopelman were spotted arm-in-arm in Beverly Hills on Wednesday (February 23).
The cute couple paid no mind to the following paparazzi as they paired up for a lunch date at E.Baldi Italian restaurant.
Sources tell that the blossoming relationship is in the early phases, while also noting that Kopelman is a ?a socialite type and a playboy? whose dad happens to be the former CEO of Chanel.
An insider dished, "It's a very new relationship and they're taking things slowly ... They've been getting to know each other a lot better these last few weeks."

In addition to the People?s Choice Awards, there was also a big event for Cover Girl. Many of the ?faces? of the brand showed up, including Drew Barrymore. Drew is wearing a strapless, full-length Jil Sander gown/dress that is puzzling me. You know how Drew has been doing a lot of 1970s-inspired looks lately? I?ve actually liked most of this stuff, and the 1970s stuff actually suits Drew rather well. I think the Jil Sander probably looked kind of floaty and cute on the rack, but Drew makes it look like a big orange sack. If this thing was in black, Angelina Jolie would have bought three of them, that?s how ?sack dress? it is. I have no idea what?s happening there at the bottom? is Drew wearing it upside-down?
Her makeup is funky too.
Guess who else was there? Sofia Vergara! Love her so much. Love the top, love her boobs, hate the black hose and low heels, though. It looks matronly.
And lastly - what?s going on with Kendra? She looks like hell.

Drew Barrymore is the cover girl for the October issue of Harper?s Bazaar. They Photoshopped the hell out of her face for the cover, right? And yet the rest of the photo shoot is rather lovely - apparently, Drew had the concept of doing it all like a Playboy photo shoot from the 1960s, with a little Sharon Tate thrown in. This look kind of works for Drew, I have to admit. Anyway, I guess Drew is the cover interview because she?s promoting Going the Distance. Meh. Since I don?t care about that or about her whatever relationship with Justin Long, you can read the full piece at Bazaar if you?d like - I?m just going to do the highlights I?m interested in. The gist of the interview is that they?re doing it like an eHarmony questionnaire.
On losing her ?baby fat?: Even though she’s in sweats, Drew looks pretty dreamy. She is lightly tanned from a solo trip to India, and her bone structure has popped. “I feel like some of my baby fat is going away,” she observes, “and that’s not just physically, it’s psychologically. I think that your body is in tune with your mind and your spirituality and your heart. If things are going better, I just think you look better.”

She?s no stranger to magazine covers and Drew Barrymore appears on the October 2010 issue of Harper's Bazaar.
The ?He?s Just Not That Into You? actress talks candidly about her relationship with Justin Long within the accompanying interview.
Drew explains, ?He?s the cat?s pajamas. I couldn?t love, respect, admire, and enjoy that individual more than I do. It would be physically impossible for me to have any more giggly joy at this person.?
When she?s not working, Ms. Barrymore loves to relax. ?I actually really love to lie in bed, watch TV, be a total sloth, and eat my favorite food: Kraft macaroni and cheese. Last night I was watching The Next Food Network Star, eating mac and cheese, and feeling grand. And that was after I wore a sequined Givenchy gown with giant holes cut out of it.?
Drew also noted that she?s still a bit conscious of her body image. ?I feel like some of my baby fat is going away, and that?s not just physically, it?s psychologically. I think that your body is in tune with your mind and your spirituality and your heart. If things are going better, I just think you look better.?

It?s been one of the most anticipated films this month, and it sounds like ?Going the Distance? is going straight to the top of the box office.
The film involves Erin (Drew Barrymore) and Garrett (Justin Long) who meet during Erin?s internship in New York City, but once the internship ends and Erin heads back to California the couple is forced to deal with the struggles of a long-distance relationship.
The reviews have been on the positive side for the most part, as Michael O?Sullivan from The Washington Post wrote, "Drew Barrymore and Justin Long make one cute couple. Whether or not the actors' on-again-off-again real-life romance helped their performances as lovers frustrated by geography ? he's in Manhattan, she's in San Francisco ? it's clear they have chemistry. E.T.'s girlfriend and the Mac Guy ooze a laid-back, goofy charm through their pore-less skin. They're a modern-day Hepburn and Grant."
Another critic told, ?'Going the Distance' is by no means perfect, but it's light years beyond the average rom-com, bracingly honest and genuinely funny about the ups and downs of relationships. Barrymore and Long, once a real-life couple and now who-knows-what, have a real chemistry that complements their well-written, realistic characters, and even when the movie falls apart around them in the third act, we root for these two crazy kids and their shot at romance. They elevate the story beyond its more flawed moments, but really, 'Going the Distance' is pretty special all on its own."

Star Magazine has an interesting interview with Drew Barrymore promoting Going the Distance, which is out in the US starting today. They ask her directly if she’s with her costar Justin Long and she sort-of admits they’re on and off again but says she’ll never tell you when. I’m getting a “friends with benefits” vibe, which is what sometimes happens when you realize that the romantic part isn’t going to work out but you still have a good time together. Or hot breakup sex, it’s hard to tell. Here’s part of what Drew told Star:
What have you learned about how to make a relationship work?
Nothing! In all seriousness, I’m very excited to be in my 30s and not stand on my soapbox and brag about what I know. I’m not in on any brilliant secrets right now.
How can you make a long-distance relationship work?
I know what I would want to make one work, like letters and surprising each other - things that make you feel special, like you’re part of a unit and it’s not a phantom thing.
Where do things stand right now with you and Justin?
We never talk about when we’re together and when we’re not. It never, ever will be addressed. Mystery is sexy. But I definitely think it was a benefit that we knew each other so well. It’s very rare to have such an amazing chemistry with someone. That was such a blessing.
So all those kissing scenes were just part of the job?
I was just lucky he’s a good kisser! The worst is when you’re kissing somebody who’s not and you feel like you’re working on your own. Basically, it was a real team effort!

I’m thinking if it “never will be addressed” she’s ruling out a long term reconciliation, but you never know. She did talk about Justin all the damn time when she first got together with him. In terms of their “chemistry,” not everyone agrees that it translates on screen. I just read a review in US Weekly that trashes their chemistry. US observes “The costars - despite their real-life are-they-or-aren’t-they relationship - lack the crazy spark that’s needed in good romantic comedies.” The movie is getting mediocre reviews overall, with a 48% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Still, I hope it does ok for Drew. I like her and wish her the best. We need more celebrities like Drew who aren’t full of sh*t. I also want to mention that I love how she says that she’s not going to preach about relationships because she doesn’t know anything more than the rest of us.
In another recent interview, Drew tells Stylist Magazine that she hates being alone but she also has trouble long distances relationships like the one she portrays on screen. “The worst part of being single is being alone. But I don?t get the benefit of having any help because I?m in a relationship with a person I never see… so I think sometimes, I feel like I?m just in a weird purgatory. And I have definitely had my freak-outs about that.” It’s all so vague. Is Justin the guy she feels like she’s in a weird purgatory with or is she speaking about a past long distance relationship with him or some other guy? She says she’ll never tell - about Justin at least. We’ll see. This one likes to talk.

Drew Barrymore got kind of testy during an interview in London promoting her new film with on-off boyfriend Justin Long, Going The Distance. She frankly told a reporter that the last journalist she’d talked to had harped too much on her troubled past and that she “wanted to punch her” and “wanted to rip this woman’s face off.” This is interesting because just yesterday Lainey at Lainey Gossip wrote a great editorial about how Drew is always very professional and sunny when promoting her films, even when they’re headed for dudsville. I really liked the way Lainey explained it. She wrote that celebrities are fragile people and that it bothers them when their films are trashed by critics, but that they have to keep going and acting like everything is ok. “Drew isn?t my favourite right now, but right now she?s also a survivor. So no doubt, if Going the Distance is sh-t, and that?s been the assumption, she?s had a lot of practise showing up for class tomorrow. Drew as you know is a seasoned warrior in the business.”
Maybe it’s getting to Drew, though, judging from how she’s said to have acted in London during her press tour. This doesn’t sound like her at all, and she must have been on edge:
Today, at 35, in plaid shirt and velvet sneakers, she is the antithesis of the spoiled Hollywood starlet. Thinner in the face than on screen, she is teeny at 5ft 4in.
I ask about Going the Distance and the importance of rom-coms. ?I need them at the end of a crap day ? a nice happy ending and a fairytale,? she agrees. ?On the other hand I like movies that are very grounded in reality but still maintain their comedy.?
Her character Erin is alternately tough and vulnerable ? a modern-day Katharine Hepburn. ?I’m not at that place in my life where I want to play a character who says, I just have to get married’. I swear to God, with some of these romantic comedies, these women are being shot in the butt with steroids, and I feel like they’ll eat the husband alive on their wedding day. It just terrifies me ? I don’t relate to that at all. I want to have a job. In fact, this movie asks the question: How do you keep the job and the guy?’ That is a question I’m interested in discussing, not like I’m going to rip your hair out because you stole my wedding dress’. I don’t care about that.?
Rom-coms conspire to keep lovers apart (class, sexuality, race) but here it’s lack of money and employment. ?It’s not a movie where the female lead is in Christian Louboutins and thousand-dollar suits,? she agrees. There are some great jokes including an excruciating phone sex scene. Barrymore says she wanted to out the taboo. ?It can be tricky,? she laughs.
Encouraged by her tone, I gesture at the clippings on the table and say I’m exhausted reading about her ?wild child? past. Does she ever lose patience talking about it?
She nods angrily. ?You should have heard this bitch I had to do an interview with before you. God, I wanted to punch her, she would just not drop the youth thing. I have no problem talking about it. I am not someone who is ashamed of my past. I’m actually really proud. I know I made a lot of mistakes, but they in turn were my life lessons.
?It’s actually good to get it done young and have a great life later. But yeah, man, I wanted to rip this woman’s face off. She just would not shut up about it.?

It makes you wonder who the other reporter was and if there’s video of this terrible interview she had with Drew. It sounds really harsh but maybe Drew was totally fed up. It must grate on you to have to do so many interviews in a row, especially when people ask stupid questions. Drew will get through it, though, and she’ll keep making romcoms that aren’t quite as bad as the other crap out there. There is indeed buzz that her movie sucks, but it might do ok at the box office. It can’t do worse than The Switch.
Drew was on Letterman on Tuesday night and told a cute story about getting all her dogs to walk with her on Fifth Avenue without leashes. Note to Drew: that’s not legal! Letterman also showed her his bite marks from his aggressive dog. You can watch a segment of Drew’s interview here. She’s come a long way since flashing Letterman in 1995, but not all people realize that.

Back out for another evening of promotional work, Drew Barrymore was all smiles as she arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City on Tuesday (August 24).
There for an appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman", the "ET" actress is in the midst of building hype for her upcoming film "Going the Distance" - which hits theaters on September 3rd.
Having attended the Nanette Burstein directed film's premiere in Los Angeles the previous evening, Drew opened up to the Evening Standard about an awful interview taking place at the red carpet event.
She tells, "You should have heard this b**ch I had to do an interview with before you. God, I wanted to punch her, she would just not drop the youth thing. I have no problem talking about it. I am not someone who is ashamed of my past. I?m actually really proud. I know I made a lot of mistakes, but they in turn were my life lessons."
Miss Barrymore continued to vent, ?It?s actually good to get it done young and have a great life later. But yeah, man, I wanted to rip this woman?s face off. She just would not shut up about it.?
