Taking her boys out for some fun in the sun, Naomi Watts hit the beach with friends in Santa Monica on Saturday (April 6).
The "Mulholland Drive" star looked cute in a sleeveless black top, cuffed blue jeans, and a tan fedora as she corralled Sasha and Sammy without the help of her partner, Liev Schreiber.
Though she already nabbed a nomination this year for her work in "The Impossible," Oscar buzz for 2014 is being generated for the 44-year-old actress.
This year, the much-anticipated biopic "Diana" stars the Aussie beauty as the Princess of Wales herself, in a film that follows the last two years of her life.

I think Naomi Watts has become one of the most consistently well-dressed women on the red carpet. She wasn?t always ? I remember when she first came on the scene in the early aughts, her style could be hit-or-miss. While she still occasionally ?phones it in? or errs on the side of wearing too many neutrals, Naomi?s style just gets better and better. It?s really only the neutral thing that bugs me personally ? I wish she would stop wearing so many beiges, sand colors, and off-whites (see: the blah dress she wore at the SAGs, at the end of the post). Sometimes they look great, sometimes they was her out but she simply does that neutral color scheme too often. But as I discovered with Naomi?s People Magazine interview, she doesn?t care for one bold color that shows up on every carpet:
We didn?t think there was a single thing Naomi Watts couldn?t wear, but the Academy Award-nominated actress, 44, informs us that there?s just one shade she won?t sport.
?I won?t wear red on the red carpet ? I just never think blondes look good in red.? Watts told PEOPLE Wednesday at The Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo?s 25 Most Powerful Stylists luncheon in West Hollywood. ?I think it?s good for dark haired girls and dark skinned girls. But for some reason, I always feel like I look trashy in it.?
So trashy, in fact, that she believes ?blondes plus red, to me, looks a little bit porno, and I?ve never felt quite right.?
How to explain that ?near red moment? in Zac Posen, then?
?Because it had a busy print, it had different colors,? she says. ?It wasn?t fire engine red. At the [Golden] Globes I wore burgundy or plum. That wasn?t red. If you put blue in it, I can wear it, but orange does not look good with my skin.?

I included a photo of the ?red? Zac Posen for the header of this post ? I would call that a burgundy or a wine-red, not really lipstick red or an orange-red, like Naomi said. I agree that she probably shouldn?t wear orange-reds ? that?s fine with me. I don?t necessarily think she would look ?p0rn0? (although I think it?s funny that her association with a blonde in red is ?p0rn?), but it probably wouldn?t suit her. And I agree, darker women can pull off reds and bold jewel tones better than most blondes. But I still think Naomi is too cautious about her colors ? she would be perfectly capable of finding a balance between not being overwhelmed by a too-bold color and not being washed out by a too-bland neutral. Now? she looks fantastic in metallics and greys, doesn?t she? Maybe that?s the happy-medium.
Additionally, Naomi gave another interview where she discussed Botox and whether she would ever jack her face. It’s funny because she’s BFFs with Nicole Kidman. Naomi said:
“Never say never?and I certainly don’t judge anyone who does it. But most of the characters I play are going through some kind of emotional turmoil, so my job requires me to have expression…. If my face was froze, what right do I have to play that part? All the women who haven’t anything to their faces are still able to play great roles. And some of the ones who have done something have messed it up?they look freakish. Anyway, for me it’s about playing women with rich lives?and the longer the life, the deeper the wrinkles.”

Oooooh, did Naomi just shade the hell out of Nicole? “And some of the ones who have done something have messed it up?they look freakish”!!! It certainly sounds like she’s “judging”. And bless her for that – Nicole needs to be shaded (often) for the terrible things she’s done to her once-beautiful face.

With her new movie "Sunlight Jr." set to premiere at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival next month, Naomi Watts pitched in on promotions by covering the April 2013 issue of Good Health magazine.
The 44-year-old actress looked gorgeous on the front page while divulging a few personal beauty tips and chatting about her acting career.

On avoiding cosmetic surgery:
"Never say never - and I certainly don't judge anyone who does it. But most of the characters I play are going through some kind of emotional turmoil, so my job requires me to have expression. If my face was froze, what right do I have to play that part? All the women who haven't anything to their faces are still able to play great roles. And some of the ones who have done something have messed it up- they look freakish. Anyway, for me it's about playing women with rich lives - and the longer the life, the deeper the winkles."
On looking flawless:
"Meditating and being with nature in the countryside. I love being outside with trees and water. I love the ocean air and sleeping. I do transcendental meditation, which keeps me calm and steady. I also drink lots of water and have a facial every six to eight weeks. I'm high-maintenance if I'm going to an event but in my own life I can't bear putting on make-up or blow-drying my hair. If you look in my handbag, there's no much in it apart from sunscreen. I do tint my eyelashes so I don't have to wear mascara every day."
On being a Hollywood mother:
"There's so much going on and [I'm] trying to balance being a mom with a career. It's both great that I've got both things but there are many times when I struggle. Sleep is something I'm deprived of. But I feel so rich inside - I feel blessed to be a mother. For me, it's been a way of fullfilling a long-buried childhood dream. I had always wanted to be a mother but when I was desperately searching for work in LA after I moved there from Australia, any thoughts of family were very distant indeed and it seemed that it might never happen for me. Both of us [Liev Schreiber] love what we do, but we're also both very, very hands-on parents and it's the most important thing for us to make sure the family stays together, so it will inevitably be a juggling act from now until they're grown up."

The "Impossible" star looked cute in a mint sweater, gray pants, and sandals as she happily chatted with her friend while they walked.
Though certainly covered up that day, just the afternoon before, the 44-year-old actress fueled up her vehicle in a rather revealing top, as previously reported by GossipCenter.
Perhaps not expecting cameras, Ms. Watts pumped gas in a button-down blouse sans brassiere while the pesky paparazzi took advantage of the situation.

Checking some items off of her to-do list, Naomi Watts ran errands on Tuesday afternoon (March 12) in Santa Monica.
Keeping causal in grey skinny jeans and a thin white blouse, which revealed a lack of a bra, the ?Impossible? star stopped to fuel up her SUV at a local gas station before setting off on her way.
Meanwhile, after a busy awards season, the English beauty will be heading back to work soon, with three films in the works for the talented actress.
Fans will be able to catch Naomi in the drama ?Sunlight Jr.? about a couple with minimum wage jobs dealing with an unexpected pregnancy, when it hits theaters next month.

Does anyone else feel bad for Naomi Watts? Reportedly, she gave one of the best performances of her career in The Impossible, and she garnered nominations in every major award show, and it conceivably could have been her year? and then nothing. She didn?t win anything. She got shoved to the side by Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Chastain. So maybe it was time, Naomi thought, to change up her look. Nothing too dramatic, but something fresh to shake off a slightly bad run. These are photos of Naomi in Paris for the Louis Vuitton show yesterday ? she?s showing off a new bob! Just FYI, this is how she looked during the awards season:
See? It?s not a super-dramatic cut, but it?s still notable. I think her bob is really cute! Compared to her old hairstyle, this seems so fresh and clean and youthful-yet-adult. SO much better than midlife crisis (or breakup) bangs. I would be all for it if this was the new trend: ladies taking out their extensions and/or cutting off their overprocessed lengthy hair to something fresh and clean.
When I was looking through the photos of the Louis Vuitton show, I came across these pics of Lily Collins, who was also at the show. I think she came into Paris just for this show, actually. Um? I know Lainey has talked about how thin Lily has gotten, but her weight loss seems especially dramatic in these photos. It?s like half of her face is gone! All I see are bones and brows. Not a good look! Why do all of these young girls think that this super-skinny look is the ideal? It?s like a generation of girls aspire to be Kate Bosworth, and I?m sorry, but that?s ridiculous. Look at Bosworth?s career! Who wants THAT?

Announced in December, Alejandro Gonzlez Iaritu's newest project "Birdman" found its leading cast members.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts have all signed up.
The comedy follows an actor famous for having once played a popular superhero over a three day period during which he tries to launch a Broadway play. Well-known for playing Batman in the '90s, Keaton will take the lead.
As for the others, Ms. Stone will play Michael's daughter, Ms. Watts will portray one of the play's actresses, and the "Hangover" funnyman will play a Broadway producer. Stay tuned to GossipCenter as more details about "Birdman" come to light.

The "Impossible" star looked sophisticated in a stylish white jacket, white top, black pants, and sandals as she headed inside.
Nominated for an Oscar for her performance, the 44-year-old actress recently spoke with CBS news about her rough start in Tinseltown ahead of the Academy Awards ceremony this Sunday - the pinnacle of acting achievement.
After moving to Hollywood with a five year plan that eventually turned into ten years, she admitted, "Oh my God, I mean I consider myself fairly sensitive, but I don't think a strong person could cope with it over and over again, and ten years of it. There were moments where I was sure I was done."

Ms. Watts will have to wait until February 24 to see if she takes that famous statuette home, when the Oscars air live beginning at 7:00 p.m. on ABC.
