Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are among the celebrities profiled in Architectural Digest’s “Celebrities at Home” issue, which is well worth picking up. (I know that this was published online last week but the print edition just came out and there are new quotes in there.) It has features on Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian’s homes and it features a look inside the incredible resort like property that Marc Anthony and his new wife, Shannon de Lima, had built in the Dominican Republic.
Naomi and Liev purchased two separate units in a duplex in Manhattan in 2012 and had them combined and renovated into an airy space with high ceilings, a huge kitchen and a kind of modern eclectic down-to-earth feel. You get the sense that there was a lot of thought put into the design and yet it looks easy and effortless. In AD, Watts explained how meeting Schreiber changed her life (she calls him “Mr. New York,”) and said that she wanted to create a space with a home-like feel. It’s a good read and a kind of intimate look into their day to day life. Watts did work with a design team to renovate and design the home but she gave a lot of input as well.

On meeting Liev and moving to NY from LA
But then I met Mr. New York and everything changed. We fell in love, so I moved here and we lived in his fantastic NoHo place for years. We started our family and were quite happy.
On finding her current home
When I first walked in, my feeling was ‘wow, this is like a real grown up home.’
I just fell in love with this neighborhood. First thing I think people can say about living in Tribeca is it’s very family oriented. We’re a block away from the water. We get to use the West Side Highway all the time just going for bike rides or scooting.
On her mom teaching her to appreciate design
From the time I was a little girl, she was taking me to rummage sales and antiques stores. It was a terrific education.
On valuing comfort and togetherness
We put the booth because you don’t always want to have a gargantuan table for four people to sit at… The dining table is great and the barstools are fine for entertaining, but I wanted a place where we could snuggle as a family. I didn’t want to make a showhouse. I wanted a true home for us.
On her big kitchen
This will sound crazy, but I lie in bed at night and think, I can’t believe after all these years in New York I finally have a walk in pantry!
On having a nice home
I know I’m a grownup but there are many times in my like that I still feel like a kid. When you walk into this house and you go “Wow this is mine? how did this happen?” It’s impressive but again it doesn’t feel imposing or too grand or fancy it feels like a real home.

I know it’s not everyone’s thing but I love to see celebrities’ homes and Watts and Liev have such a gorgeous space that’s still very inviting, just as she intended. You can tell that she really enjoyed putting it together too and that it took some time. In the full article, they explain that they closed the deal for the home right before Hurricane Sandy hit (in October 2012), that the place was flooded and it took a few months before they could start to renovate. I wish I loved my place like that but there’s always something to aspire to.
Oh and Naomi and Liev have in no way split up and this is just more proof of that. I’m still betting that Star was totally wrong.

My spidey sense was tingling last night when I saw Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber walking apart from each other into the SAGs. Star Magazine has been beating the breakup drum for these two after Naomi skipped the Globes, but they came together to the SAGs with a lot of assistant-type people judging from the brief footage I saw of them arriving. As Kaiser pointed out to me, there’s something off about their body language but I’m going to stick my fingers in my ears. Lalala nothing to see here, they came together. I didn’t see much of them during the ceremony either and one time when the camera panned to the Spotlight table, I saw Naomi but not Liev.
Liev’s film Spotlight won for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and he took the stage with his co-stars. Mark Ruffalo accepted the award and brought awareness to the despicable coverup of the Catholic molestation scandal, as he said he would do at the Oscars in lieu of a boycott. (Spotlight shows the the true story of the Boston Globe journalists who uncovered the truth and publicized it.) I have my fingers crossed that Spotlight will win for best picture (I haven’t seen it yet but Kaiser and Hecate rave about it) although I think that may go to The Big Short, which was good but not incredible in my estimation. The Big Short is the kind of film the academy loves.
Oh in terms of Naomi’s Burberry gown I like how covered up she is, this gown is elegant but it also veers on being too busy with all the blue flowers over the black background. Naomi and Liev look a little tipsy in some of these photos. I don’t blame them, it must be tedious to go to these awards ceremonies.
Joanne Froggatt of Downton Abbey (which won for best Drama Ensemble) was also in Burberry. I do not like this dress at all. The deep v-neck doesn’t pair well with the sequins around the waist and trailing up the sides. There’s something very 80s about it.
This is how you do a deep v-neck, by letting it standalone. Lily Rabe is in Lela Rose and I normally do not like this canary yellow color on anyone, but somehow she’s pulling it off with her light coloring, understated eyemakeup and bright red lip. This was striking on the red carpet. Look at the subtle hemline, with a delicate floral pattern leading to a grey skirt. Incredible.
This is Lily with her boyfriend, Hamish Linklater. I know him from The Big Short but he looks so different with a beard.

Star Magazine is reporting that my favorite couple, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, split up back in November and that they’re “trying to keep things as amicable and normal as possible for the boys.” Naomi and Liev have been together for over ten years and have two sons together. If this report is true I’m really sad, but just read it and take it for what it’s worth:
A source tells Star that the King Kong actress, 47, quietly called it quits with the father of her children back in November after 10 years together. ?Simply put, Naomi and Liev grew apart,? reveals the insider. ?And they?ve decided it?s best for everyone to go their separate ways.? While reps for the pair deny the split, Naomi did not accompany the Ray Donovan star, 48, to the Golcen Globes on Jan. 10 – and in December, the couple put their Hamptons hideaway on the market. ?They?re trying to keep things as amicable as possible for the boys,? says the source, noting how the proud parents, who just finished filming the boxing biopic The Bleeder, took Samuel, 7, and Alexander, 8, on a recent family vacation to Australia. ?Their main focus right now is making sure their sons are okay.?

Ok so Star’s evidence seems to be that Naomi didn’t go to the Globes with Liev and that they’re selling their house in the Hamptons. Maybe they don’t want to go to the Hamptons anymore because they’re sick of the place. Maybe Naomi didn’t go to the Globes because she was busy working or had to stay home with the kids. Their reps denied it! Here’s my evidence that Naomi and Liev are still together – she Instagrams photos of him all the time. They just went on vacation to Sydney for the holidays and she posted a nice pic with him a week ago. They were papped out together looking cute and matchy in their winter jackets just last week. (Those photos are below.) They didn’t break up in November! Why do you have to be so specific with the lies, Star?

These are photos of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, one of my favorite couples, on The Coney Island boardwalk in Brooklyn, NY doing scenes for their film, The Bleeder. I guess we know now why Liev is sporting that goofy horseshoe mustache. The Bleeder is based on the true story of heavyweight boxer Chuck Wepner, who went 15 rounds against Muhammad Ali in 1975. The movie Rocky is said to be loosely based on Wepner. Liev is playing Wepner and I’m assuming Naomi plays his love interest or wife.
I just love to see Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber together, particularly on set. Her trashy red wig and costume are giving me vibes of her St. Vincent character, in which she played a Russian prostitute. (If you haven’t seen that film, with Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy, check it out, it’s a gem.) Naomi tramps up nicely. I checked out the director and screenwriters for this film and they’re relatively unproven, at least I’ve never heard of their work. I hope The Bleeder is decent so that it doesn’t become their Gigli or By The Sea, but I guess the stakes are not as high for Liev and Naomi. They’re both excellent character actors who work steadily. Whether this movie is lousy, middling or excellent I don’t think they’ll be affected much.
If you’re looking for a new show to watch and have Showtime on demand, check out Liev in Ray Donovan, it’s one of my favorites. He’s also in the new film, Spotlight, about a group of journalists in Boston who investigated the pedophile priest coverup in the Catholic Church. Kaiser just saw it and she said it’s excellent.
Ooh and there’s a photo of them kissing too! You can see that on People. Damn.

Naomi Watts was at the Emmys last night supporting her partner, Liev Schreiber, who was nominated for Lead Actor in a Drama. That Emmy of course went to Jon Hamm. Ray Donovan is an incredible show and this season has been just as solid and entertaining as the last two, so I have hope that Schreiber will get another shot at an Emmy. The show has already been renewed for a fourth season.
Watts was in this kind of shapeless, sack-like Dior gown. The neckline was lovely and the sequin details were incredible, but it hung too loosely around her waist and made her look pregnant, which she’s surely not. Watts often takes risks but still manages to look incredible so this is a rare miss for her. I don’t think she wears Dior often.
Watts posted a really sweet Instagram pic with Screiber before the Emmys calling him her “baby daddy.” These two are SO CUTE.

Naomi Watts was at the SAGs last night for both Birdman and St. Vincent, for which she was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. That SAG of course went to Patricia Arquette, who is winning everything this season. Naomi didn’t seem to mind. I remember watching her get choked up at the Globes at Arquette’s heartfelt speech. (She wasn’t nominated at the Globes though.) Plus Naomi had a huge consolation prize, Birdman won the Best Ensemble Award. I was surprised, I expected Boyhood to win that category but it seems like Birdman is a contender and has a real fighting chance at the Oscars.
While she was going up to the mic to accept the award, Naomi tripped over Emma Stone’s weird sheer train. You can see a gif of that here and it’s about :30 into the video below. As for Naomi’s navy Balenciaga gown, it’s a little plain for my taste but it does fit her like a glove. It looks more like a gown for a holiday ball as it’s very tasteful and staid. She’s accessorized with Bvlgari jewels, which are fabulous.
Naomi’s costar Andrea Riseborough was in this goofy mint green Escada gown featuring a silver knot ribbon along the neckline ending in a sort of double bow. I’m not fond of the color or the fit of this gown although it’s interesting. Riseborough is such a chameleon. She looks so different with and without makeup.
Amy Ryan’s loose bright Pink gown looks very comfortable, if not the most fashion-forward. In photos I don’t like it at all but on screen it looked ok. It’s a kind of tank top over a long skirt. I don’t have a designer ID at this point but I’ll update when I’m able to find it.
Here’s the Birdman cast accepting their award. Zach Galifianakis quipped “When I was on As The World Turns…” which was a reference to Julianne Moore’s speech. He looks like a different person he’s lost so much weight.

I love Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber and if they ever break up I will lay in bed for an entire day. So when the two of them were interviewed by incompetent Ryan Seacrest (seriously, why don’t they let Kristen Dos Santos do the interviews?) I found them utterly charming and attractive. Seacrest asked Liev if he helped Naomi with her look at all and he said that he did help with the angle of her snake necklace. Everyone is buzzing about Naomi’s diamond Bulgari snake necklace, which is a repeat. She’s worn that incredible necklace five times in the last year. Sometimes she drapes the snake head around her back and sometimes she wears it in front.
While it’s easy to agree that the necklace is killer, people were more divided about Watts’ Gucci gown. I found it on point and I loved the draped bodice, the matching belt and her little white clutch. Kaiser thought the dress was too bright yellow. It was a nice pop of color, I thought. Plus she had the perfect accessory. Liev is so hot. Did you see him with his glasses? I wish he would win something for Ray Donovan already.
I’m including photos of nominees Frances O?Connor (The Missing), Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange (American Horror Story) along with presenter Melissa McCarthy. McCarthy wore an incredible pantsuit of her own design to the People’s Choice Awards so this goofy bow, shirt and tiered skirt combo is disappointing. Jessica Lange is really working that v-neck J. Mendel gown. Did you see Kathy’s Je Suis Charlie iPhone case? Oh and I know O’Connor from Mr. Selfridge. It took me a while to figure out what show I remembered her from, since she looks so different in period costumes.

Showing some love to their SoCal fans, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber stopped by the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills this evening (January 11).
All decked out in their formal finery, the ?King Kong? actress and her ?Manchurian Candidate? man make sure to pose for the paparazzi ahead of the big event.
With so many amazing accomplishments to celebrate in television and film, it?s really anybody?s guess who will go home with the hardware. The Best Motion Picture- Drama nominees are ?The Theory of Everything,? ?Boyhood,? ?Selma,? ?Foxcatcher? and ?The Imitation Game.?

Taking care of her to-do list, Naomi Watts showed up on the streets of SoHo in New York City on Thursday afternoon (November 6).
The ?King Kong? star wore an olive green jacket with slim fit jeans and tan boots as she maneuvered her way through the drizzly conditions while shutterbugs snapped up pics.
In career news, Naomi has signed on to star in a forthcoming thriller flick called ?Shut In? that is slated to begin filming in Europe next year.
Per the synopsis, ?This is the story of a woman who discovers a terrifying secret about her troubled son.?
