I still don?t get it. But I?m buying it more and more with each new photo-op. These are photos of Charlize Theron & Sean Penn leaving Bouchon last night after attending a charity dinner. As you can see, Charlize is wearing lower heels these days so she doesn?t tower over her (average-height) boyfriend. And Sean opened Charlize?s car door for her and he drove her (and some friends) away. It looks like Charlize had to tell him how to work the car too, so I don?t know what that?s about.
I?m telling you, I?m buying it more now that I?ve seen Sean sit with Charlize at the nail salon. That, to me, is a sign of a relationship. When the dude will sit with you and gossip as you get a mani-pedi = real love. The next stage of relationship togetherness is when he drives Charlize to a hair appointment and reads a magazine as her colorist works on her.
That being said, I wish the tabloids had some place other to go than ?Charlize and Sean are obviously thinking about marriage and he wants to adopt Jackson.? They?ve been together six weeks. Let?s allow the relationship to percolate in its own time. Also: if she does end up marrying Sean, nothing but chaos will follow.

They said it was true love when Sean Penn began spending the night at Charlize Theron?s house. I didn?t believe them. They said it was true love when she attended his Haiti fundraiser and he told the crowd that he gave up 60-plus guns for her. I didn?t believe them. They said it was true love when Sean began spending quality time with Jackson Theron, Charlize?s young son. I didn?t believe them (although I was getting closer). But now I believe it?s love: these are photos of Charlize and Sean exiting a nail salon together. The couple that goes to a nail salon together is a couple in love. I don?t even think Sean got a mani. I think he just sat with Charlize as she got a mani-pedi. THAT is love.
So where are Charlize and Sean on the love scale now though? Earlier this week, Radar claimed that Sean is a Changed Man Now and that he and Charlize will definitely marry:
Even though Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have only been dating a few months, the Academy award-winning actors are already talking about getting married, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
?Sean is head over heels in love with Charlize, and her son Jackson. He is a totally different person around Charlize, she brings out the gentle and fun side that not many people have seen of Sean. To see this previously surly grown man, romping around Charlize?s backyard with Jackson, with a smile on his face would amaze Sean?s detractors. Charlize is getting Sean to not take himself to seriously,? a source close to the couple told Radar.
?The two began talking about marriage in the last few weeks, after Sean moved into Charlize?s house. She has never wanted to get married, but seeing how Sean interacts with Jackson, she is having a change of heart. For the longest time, Charlize thought it was just going to be her and Jackson, and she was ok with that. For her to now be talking about getting married is a huge departure for Charlize.?
The couple have known each other for ?over a decade, and have always been friends, so it shouldn?t be a surprise to anyone that things are getting serious so fast,? the insider added.
It was only three weeks ago that Sean and Charlize made their first public appearance together at a fundraiser for his charity.
Previously, the twosome was spotted together in Hawaii and they were seen out on a movie date in Hollywood. Penn even introduced Theron to his mom, Eileen Ryan Penn, who sat with them.
Sean is ?in a very good place right now. He has been single for awhile after his divorce with Robin Wright. People didn?t realize how hard he took that divorce,? the source added.
?He felt like a really big failure, he never wanted to be divorced. Charlize is truly the light in his life. He is even talking about adopting Jackson if they get married!?

I genuinely think most of this is just tabloid nonsense. I remember how the tabloids went overboard when Sean was dating Scarlett Johansson too, and there are shades of that hysteria here as well. I guess this is a different situation because Charlize is a bit closer in age, and because she has a small child. It does feel more serious than the ScarJo thing, but still? they?ve basically been together for six weeks, tops. Enough with the marriage talk.

Charlize Theron is really, really close to her mom Gerda. I?m not 100% positive, but I believe Gerda sometimes lives with Charlize, or at the very least Gerda lives very close to Charlize and they do a lot of stuff together, and pretty much see each other every day. For a while there, Gerda and Charlize were always photographed out and about with Charlize?s son Jackson. But I haven?t seen any pics of Gerda since Charlize started banging Sean Penn (and letting Sean spend time with Jackson). Does Gerda approve of Charlize?s baked-ham-looking boyfriend? Star Mag says no.
Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have turned their longtime friendship into a hot new romance, but there?s one person who isn?t a fan of the couple ? Charlize?s mom, Gerda. Despite being on hand with Charlize to support Sean at his third annual Help Haiti Home gala on Jan. 11th, Star has learned that Gerda is fearful that womanizing Sean will break her daughter?s heart.
While Gerda has never minded the pair?s friendship, sources say she ?begged Charlize not to let it turn romantic.? One of her cautionary tactics? Reminding Charlize that Penn just took a trip with his ex-wife Madonna to Haiti, where the pair reported hooked up.
?Charlize refuses to believe it happened,? the pal tells Star. ?But Gerda worries about her, like any mother would.?

I don?t know you guys? Gerda was married to an abusive man (Charlize?s father) and one night, when he was coming after her, Gerda killed him in self-defense. I wouldn?t be surprised if THAT is the reason she?s not very fond of Sean Penn. Gerda sees something in Sean that?s all-too-familiar and she wants no part of it and she doesn?t want her daughter and grandson around it either. But maybe it?s the womanizing thing too. God knows Sean Penn is ALSO a womanizer on top of everything else. (?Everything else? = looking like a baked ham.)

Just yesterday I was asking if anyone thought it was weird that we haven?t seen Sean Penn and Charlize Theron out together since Golden Globes Weekend. And here we are. Sean, Charlize and Jackson Theron were spotted at Whole Foods yesterday. They look like a family, don?t they? Even with the stories about hookers and modelizing, Sean does seem to embrace the family lifestyle for years at a time. There was a period ? when he was married to Robin Wright and their kids were small ? where he was a suburban dad. He moved his family out of the trendy LA neighborhoods to quiet suburbia, and that?s what these photos remind me of.
So, I guess Charlize and Sean are really dating. It wasn?t just a revenge hookup to get back at Robin and her young fianc. And Charlize is letting Sean spend time with Jackson too. We can talk about Sean and how he?s a sometimes violent jackass, but the truth is? I bet he?s good with kids. We?ll see.
I have no real comment on the photo where Charlize is grabbing his butt. Ugh. I mean? I guess their sex might be hot? But all I can think about now is Sean?s baked-ham-looking O-Face. *shivers*

Getting an early start to the day, Charlize Theron grabbed a cup of coffee in Beverly Hills on Tuesday (January 21).
The "Young Adults" beauty donned a black shirt and skirt with sandals as she made her way out of the busy shop.
In career news, Charlize recently wrapped up the production of her upcoming comedy "A Million Ways to Die in the West." Written and directed by Seth MacFarlane, the film is about a cowardly farmer who seeks the help of a gunslinger's wife to help him win back the woman who left him.
Starring alongside Miss Theron are Amanda Seyfriend, Liam Neeson, Neil Patrick Harris and Sarah Silverman. "A Million Ways to Die in the West" is slated to hit theaters this upcoming spring.

The ?Monster? actress showed up to support her ?Italian Job? costar Mark Wahlberg, who stars as Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell in the flick.
Additionally, Emile Hirsch made an appearance at the Roosevelt Hotel shindig as part of the AFI Fest schedule.
Due in theaters January 10th, ?Lone Survivor? is ?based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission "Operation Red Wings.? Four members of SEAL Team 10 were tasked with the mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd. Marcus Luttrell was the only member of his team to survive.?

Here are some assorted photos from last night?s ?Wallis Annenberg Center For The Performing Arts Inaugural Gala? in Beverly Hills. This event got one of the best turn-outs that I?ve seen in a while. It was like an awards show red carpet. Anyway, let?s get to the fashion. Charlize Theron wore Alexander McQueen. I LOVE the dress and loathe the hair. Charlie is still growing her hair out and it looks so much cuter when she doesn?t get it ?done?. She looks like the Fifth Beatle here from the neck up. Neck down, she?s a goddess.
Demi Moore wore Salvatore Ferragamo (the sponsor of the event) and her ?date? was James Ferragamo. Man, he?s hot, right? Demi looks? good? She?s tweaked, of course, but she looks good.
Gwen Stefani in Salvatore Ferragamo. The dress is loose and there are all those spangles, but she still looks pregnant to me.
Amy Adams in Elie Saab. Ugh. Get it out of your system now, Amy, and then you can really bring it for the awards season. Just wear all of the Elie Saab crap now.
Dita Von Teese in Carolina Herrera. Kind of boring and conservative for Dita, right?
Great color on Courteney Cox, not the best silhouette and she really needs to stop tweaking.
Freida Pinto & Dev Patel. She?s so beautiful but I?m not sure if I like this color on her.
