Continuing her promotional tour, a red pants clad Carrie Underwood was spotted at ITV Studios in London, England earlier today (June 20).
The ?Cowboy Casanova? chick looked to be enjoying herself as she exited the Southbank-area building to find fans and press eagerly waiting for her.
As for her previous comments about gay rights, and the subsequent backlash, Carrie responded to her critics in a new interview.
Ms. Underwood noted, ?I was asked a difficult question in the last five minutes of an interview and I answered it the best way I knew how, and after that I do what I do and I love making music and I generally try to stay out of any kind of controversy.?
?The role-model word is really scary to me, because no matter what happens in your life, something you do, wear, say, sing, whatever ? somebody somewhere is probably not going to like it too well. I just really try hard to do what I do and try to be nice to people and make great music and if people think they can look up to that, that?s wonderful. If not, that?s OK too.?

I realize that this news came out earlier this week. I was considering reporting on this new interview with Carrie Underwood in The Sun, and Kaiser reminded me of it. Apparently Carrie is in the UK now to promote her tour. She performs a sold out show at Royal Albert Hall in London tomorrow night. In an interview with The Independent this weekend, Carrie mentioned that as a Christian she supports gay marriage. She explained it very well. Carrie said that she can’t imagine how it would feel “to be told I can?t marry somebody I love,” adding that “above all, God wanted us to love others. It?s not about setting rules, or [saying] ‘everyone has to be like me.‘” It was a wonderful, inclusive way to explain her viewpoint, and most of the US agrees with her. Lacing up her sneakers and getting in the swing of things for a good cause, Carrie Underwood was back in action for the 22nd annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge in Nashville, TN on Saturday (June 9).
The country superstar rocked a sporty ensemble as she made her way on the field in red tube socks, black athletic shorts and black top, while at one point tossing on a personalized jersey as she did her part in striking out cancer.
Aside from Carrie, some of country music?s biggest stars were on hand during the annual event held during the CMA Festival, including Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, Vince Gill and Brantley Gilbert.
According to the organization?s website, since the event?s inception, the Celebrity Softball Challenge has raised nearly $2 million dollars benefiting City of Hope?s life-saving mission ? finding cures and better treatments for cancer and a host of other devastating diseases.

The CMT Music Awards were last night, hosted by Kristen Bell for some reason. Carrie Underwood took home the awards for best video, for “Good Girl.” (Go here for a list of winners.) We’re going to be talking about the fashion. No one really brought it at all, as Kaiser explained earlier in her coverage.
Here we have Carrie in a “silver-and-black sequined Randi Rahm mini dress.” (To quote Red Carpet Fashion Awards.) Considering the event, the dress is decent and it’s very flattering on her small frame. I find her flowing fake hair to be a little much, but this is Carrie and she’s always styled to perform, including some very heavy-handed makeup. Those really fug shoes are just killing it for me, however. I don’t mind thick ankle straps, I have a pair of open toe heels with big straps like this that fasten around the ankles. Those fat straps don’t go with booties, though!
Carrie’s husband Mike Fisher came out to support her, which was nice.
I can’t find a designer ID on Miranda Lambert’s dress, but that’s ok as it’s unremarkable anyway. It looks very “Junior Prom” with the sweetheart neckline, flouncy skirt with fan pattern at the hem, and ribbon waistline. Coupled with the sequin gladiator shoes, it’s just a bad look overall. Miranda’s hair and makeup are very pretty, though. I love her wavy side pony. Miranda won best female video, for “Over You.”
Jordin Sparks was in a salmon color Kevan Hall chiffon gown. It’s a very feminine, pretty dress, but the color is a little too Pepto Bismol for my taste. I love her styling and the way she’s matched her lip color to the hue of the dress. She looks gorgeous.

Carrie Underwood was one of the big names at The Billboard Awards last night, and she brought her husband with her! I always have a hard time finding photos of Carrie with her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher. The last event photos I can find of the two of them together are from the Grammy Awards in 2010, so this is somewhat of a big deal for them to attend together and pose on the red carpet. They’re such a good looking couple.
In terms of her poofy Oscar de la Renta dress, I like it in spite of myself. With all that tulle and frou-frou I would expect to hate it, but my guy reaction is positive. Somehow, this dress is huge, feminine and over the top but manages to pull it off with a little whimsy. I think the tight cleavage-hiding bodice and the modern, controlled messiness of the skirt keep it from being too girly. Carrie’s too-long curls and fake-looking extensions are too much with this look, though. I was thinking that before I saw that our friends at Red Carpet Fashion Awards come to the same conclusion. This giant dress calls for a sleeker ‘do to balance out the cake-topper tulle skirt. In video of her performance, below, her hair looks even more ridiculous in motion. Her frosty makeup is similarly overdone, but I guess she’s on stage and has an excuse for overdoing it.
Carrie wasn’t nominated in any categories last night, which I was surprised to learn. She did perform “Blown Away” during the ceremony. She changed into a red flowing gown for her performance. I like that she’s keeping covered up. Normally I would speculate about that, but she’s made it clear that she and her husband aren’t ready for babies. Here’s her performance:

Joining the many stars in Sin City, Carrie Underwood looked breathtaking as she arrived for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday evening (May 20).
Held at the MGM Grand Arena, the "Blown Away" singer was joined on the red carpet by husband Mike Fisher as the good-looking couple posed for pictures before heading inside for the evening showcase.
As for what's in store, Carrie will be taking the stage at the Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell hosted ceremony with other performers set to be offered up by big names including Justin Bieber, LMFAO, CeeLo Green, Kelly Clarkson, Usher, The Wanted, Linkin Park, Nelly Furtado and Chris Brown.
With presenters including Charlie Sheen, Miley Cyrus, Gladys Knight, Julianne Hough and Wiz Khalifa, award hopefuls include a pack-leading Adele with 18 nominations while LMFAO is a finalist in 17 categories.
Always one of the hottest nights in music, the 2012 Billboard Music Awards will be getting underway at 8/9c on ABC.

Gearing up for an outbound flight, Carrie Underwood was spotted at the Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Canada yesterday (May 17).
Joined by her husband Mike Fisher, the ?Remind Me? songstress wore a Roots Canada shirt and denim shorts as she headed for her departure gate.
Carrie has been a busy girl as of late, doing live shows and promotions for her newly-released hit album Blown Away.
And Ms. Underwood is also hoping to start a family with Fisher in the future. She told press, "If I had it my way, we'd have a couple kids in a few years. And maybe once they get a little bit older, as a family, we adopt a couple more."

Out promoting her newest album Blown Away, Carrie Underwood was spotted leaving the CBS Studio building in Toronto, Canada this afternoon (May 16).
The country diva looked gorgeous in a black blazer with cutoff denim shorts and black booties as she strutted her stuff with a SmartWater in hand.
In other career news, the 29-year-old performer sang an awesome rendition of her newest single ?Good Girl? on the finale of ?Dancing with the Stars? Tuesday night (May 15).
After the song, ?DWTS? host Tom Bergeron plugged the blonde beauty?s upcoming performance Sunday on the "Billboard Music Awards," at 7 p.m. on ABC. Earlier this month, she performed her single on Fox's "American Idol."

He?s known for getting creative with his celebrity guests, and last night (May 10) Jimmy Kimmel showed off his new video with Carrie Underwood.
During ?Jimmy Kimmel Live,? Kimmel explained that Underwood had finally hit her career high after having sung a duet with him.
From there, Jimmy introduced the new song ?Before You Freak,? as ?a kind of sequel to ?Before He Cheats,? one of Underwood?s first hits.
The video included Carrie beating the heck out of an old red Dodge Ram truck that turned out to be Kimmel?s, rather than the boyfriend she was angry at. It also had fanny packs and a James Van Der Beek poster. Check it out!

Carrie Underwood has a new interview in US Weekly to promote her album and upcoming tour. Carrie, 29, has been open in the past about how she’s not ready to have kids with her husband of a year and a half, hockey player Mike Fisher. She’s also used almost this exact same PR stance before – she’s just like us. It may be true and I don’t doubt that she does things around the house and likes to watch TV like everyone else. She had an US Weekly cover and accompanying interview last year around this time that was very similar to this one. At that point she was trying to present a softer image after some stories came out that she was bitchy and difficult. I think it worked in that we haven’t heard any negative stories about her in a while. In this one it sounds like she’s trying too hard to convince us that everything is fine in her marriage. Maybe it is, but it just gets my spidey sense tingling. Here’s some of what she told US, with more in their print edition with Guiliana and Bill on the cover. (Do you think Carrie was hoping for another cover with this interview? Of course she was.)
You kissed a lot of frogs before Mike, huh?
I’ve had my share of loves gone wrong. But I couldn’t ask for a better husband and best friend. I’m finally happy in love, so there’s a reason some things don’t work out. At the time, it seems like the world is ending, but then something great comes out of it and you realize everyone ended up exactly where they belong.
What’s your big secret to a happy marriage?
We don’t bring our work home with us very often. Because we’re so busy, we make our time together count, like by going on date nights. And while we love being together, we also realize time apart is important, so we try not to crowd each other. I love a good girls’ night out just like he loves hanging out with his friends.
Describe a typical weekend? Do you even have one?
We’re the most normal couple in the world! What I enjoy most is a quiet day at home with Mike and our doggies. We watch a lot of TV – I’ve seen every episode of American Idol this season, and we love Modern Family and The Walking Dead. And I do laundry, buy groceries and clean the house. I also make tofu-salad sandwiches and healthy versions of comfort food, like pizza and quesadillas.
Sweet! It must be tough to go out on the road.
I’m actually excited to tour again this fall, and Mike always comes to every show he can. It’ll be hard to be away from him for so long, but he is so understanding and supportive – just like I am with him during hockey season.
Any plans for kids?
We’re not looking to have children any time too soon. Both of our lives are so crazy. Something would have to change drastically in our schedules before we can entertain the idea. But for now, married life is wonderful.

Lainey also linked to this story on ESPN with Carrie being interviewed about her husband’s hockey career. They asked her for three things she loves about playoff hockey and she said “winning, winning and Mike winning.” She’s hardcore. The photo of Carrie with Mike is from January, 2010.
