Stretching out her acting legs, Carrie Underwood is gearing up for the release of her new movie ?Soul Surfer? this Friday (April 8th).
The country singing sensation says her reason for choosing this film has everything to do with the story of Bethany Hamilton, a teenager who lost her arm in a shark attack only to return to the water shortly thereafter.
She explained, ?The whole story was such an inspirational story. It's something that I would want my kids to watch and to know I did, you know, ?Once upon a time whenever I have kids.'?
?Soul Surfer? also stars big names like Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, and Annasophia Robb.

Having kept their plans a secret until just prior to showtime, Carrie Underwood took the stage at the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards for a duet with Steven Tyler.
To the delight of the packed audience on hand at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the country cutie and her "American Idol" judge singing mate delved into a rockin' rendition of Aerosmith's classic tune "Walk This Way".
Of Miss Underwood's performance plans, Jack Sussman of CBS Entertainment hinted at the special occasion by telling press prior to showtime, ?Carrie Underwood will walk out and I guarantee you she will be burning down that stage?"
He added, "She?s going to do nice little duet, but wants it to be kept between her and her duet partner-and if you know her well, you know you do not want to make her upset.?

Ready to delve into one of the bigger dates in her calendar year, Carrie Underwood made a fashionable arrival to the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday evening (April 3).
The 28-year-old singer was decked out in a colorful purple frock as she worked the press at the MGM Grand Garden Arena prior to show kickoff.
With a full night ahead of her, Carrie is signed on to present an award while also among the star-studded lineup of performers set to take the stage during the annual ceremony.
Of Miss Underwood's performance plans, Executive Vice President of Specials, Music and Live Events for CBS Entertainment, Jack Sussman, said, ?Carrie Underwood will walk out and I guarantee you she will be burning down that stage?she?s going to do nice little duet, but wants it to be kept between her and her duet partner-and if you know her well, you know you do not want to make her upset.?

Stepping out for a media appearance, Carrie Underwood was spotted at the premiere of her new movie ?Soul Surfer? last night (March 30).
The ?Jesus Take the Wheel? songstress looked fabulous as she hammed it up outside the ArcLight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood.
According to the studio, ?Soul Surfer? is about a teenage girl who summons the courage to go back into the ocean after losing her arm in a shark attack.
Set to hit theaters nationwide on April 8th, ?Soul Surfer? also stars teen cutie Annasophia Robb and Dennis Quaid.

She was over the moon when the trade became a reality, and Carrie Underwood has been showing her support for husband Mike Fisher as he gets used to life with the Nashville Predators.
Miss Underwood was on-hand for Mike's game against his former team the Vancouver Canucks just last week, as she cheered on avidly as he scored a goal during the contest.
As for the trade, Fisher is pleased, as well. He told the Vancouver Sun, "To be honest I was praying a few days before about [moving teams]."
He continued, "I was just so frustrated and said 'God, if you have me go somewhere take care of it, look after it,' and he sure did that. He put me in a place I was comfortable with and I think that's part of reason that this is the place I'm supposed to be and that's comforting for sure."
As for stories about some Canadian community radio stations banning Underwood's music as a result of Fisher leaving town, the hockey player said he's learned to brush those things off.
"Stuff happens and I'm learning that with all the attention that's paid to her ? because of who she is ? to not worry about those things that are not true," Mike said fo Carrie. "It's what you have to do, it's the life we're a part of now and obviously there's a lot of good things that go with it, too."

Looking like their marriage will no longer have to be long-distance ? Carrie Underwood's husband Mike Fisher is moving to Nashville.
The ?Jesus Take the Wheel? singer hockey-player hubby has been traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators.
"We will both truly miss Ottawa," Underwood said in a statement Thursday. "Mike has been such a big part of the community, and I will never forget how they welcomed me with open arms. We obviously love Nashville, and the teams' decision for him to now play with the Predators is an exciting opportunity for Mike. I support him wherever he plays!"
The newlywed couple is constantly on-the-go, but hopefully this new arrangement will allow them to spend long periods of time together, something they haven?t been able to do much yet.

It’s kind of weird, but I don’t really have Carrie Underwood on the site very often. I don’t know why, it’s not like she’s unattractive or she can’t sing the national anthem, she’s actually really quite hot and we know she can sing because she won a nationally televised karaoke contest a few years back.

Making for a rare date night sighting, Carrie Underwood was hand-in-hand with husband Mike Fisher in New York City on Thursday (January 27).
The country singing cutie shielded her face while heading to the car alongside her man after watching the New York Knicks beat the Miami Heat 93-88 at Madison Square Garden.
The sighting comes as Miss Underwood has been the subject of recent baby-on-the-way rumors, though her rep has since cleared the air by telling Gossip Cop, "She is not pregnant."
On the career front, the 27-year-old is anxiously awaiting the April 8th release of her big screen debut in "Soul Surfer" - which is the story of teenage surfer shark attack victim Bethany Hamilton.
The film was directed by Sean McNamara with Annasophia Robb portraying Miss Hamilton while Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid also star.
