Gearing up for two big weekends in a row, Carrie Underwood is preparing to take part in the a tribute to Michael Jackson at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (January 31).
Ready to rehearse alongside fellow performers Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson, the “American Idol” alum tells, “The Grammys obviously wanted to pay tribute to Michael Jackson and his music, so they wanted to do something that he was passionate about.”
Continuing on, Miss Underwood tells MTV News, “So, they asked all of us, I guess five of us, to be a part of it. ... I’ve met Usher. Obviously, I’ve met Jennifer Hudson. I think I’ve met all of them actually, but I don’t think I’ve ever sang with any of them, so I’m really very excited to be even considered in that group of names.”
“Hopefully, [the tribute performers are] people that he respected and liked,” Carrie added. “I’m just honored they asked me. Of course, we said yes before we knew the details. I’m there, and I think it will be a really cool moment on the show.”
The following week, fans of the country darling can catch her singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl!

Getting in some acting time, Carrie Underwood recently spilled about her stint on the set of “How I Met Your Mother.”
Taking to her blog, the country singer wrote, “I got to hang out with the whole cast, dress up like a flight attendant, play a cavewoman and had a baby pig poop on me…that’s right…jealous I’m just glad I grew up on a farm because I think I was the only one who knew how to hold and wasn’t afraid of a little piglet!”
And the cast didn’t seem to mind a newbie on set. Carrie added that they, “made me feel right at home and were super patient and great with me and my lack of experience!”
The episode will air in March, where she will be playing a mysterious pharmaceutical sales rep who catches the eye of Ted. “I’m giving up the music business and I’m going to become a professional sitcom actress!” she wrote. “Just kidding, of course, but I did have a blast while I was there!”

One would think genetics are on her side, but Carrie Underwood admits that her beautiful physique is anything but effortless to maintain.
In a radio interview, the country singing cutie says, “I carry all my stress weight, all my potato chip weight around my mid section. You’ve got to fight genetics sometimes.”
Spilling some of secrets, Underwood told, “I do not eat catering. I have a refrigerator on the bus and when we’re in a decent town that has a decent grocery store, I just go and stock up. My off days on the road are spent doing laundry and buying groceries.”
Of the star’s new personal trainer, Tony Greco, she says he “is kicking my butt. I need it. Especially with a tour coming up and a wedding to look good for.”

Ready to take their love to the next level, Carrie Underwood has gotten engaged to her hockey star beau Mike Fisher.
Following rumors of the engagement, Fisher confirmed the story, telling, “It’s true. We’re both obviously excited and very happy.”
Miss Underwood and Mr Fisher have been dating for a year, having first been introduced at a concert in Toronto in October 2008.
Meanwhile,Carrie was forced to deny report that she and Fisher moved in together just this past month, saying, “I read something recently that a certain someone and I were moving in together. This is beyond not true...just another example of people making stuff up out of thin air!”

Carrie Underwood is interviewed in the January issue of Esquire Magazine, and she looks a little Jennifer Aniston-ish in the photo, doesn’t she? Weird. Anyway, at first I thought she was the cover girl, but she?s not. She?s just the ?What I?ve Learned? interview, a popular feature of Esquire. Interesting side note: Carrie is interviewed by Tom Junod, who did Angelina Jolie?s cover profile in 2007 (?Angelina Jolie Dies For Our Sins?) that raised a huge ruckus. I think he?s a half decent interviewer, and he certainly got Carrie Underwood to open up and talk about God, music, Simon Cowell and Tony Romo (sort of). Of course, I doubt it?s that difficult to get Carrie to talk. She?s been all over the place lately, trying to get attention. The full Esquire piece is here, and here are some highlights from what Carrie has learned:
I’ve learned the most throughout my life from age twenty-two till now.
As you step off that stage, you’re pretty much alone.
There’s no handbook.
People can take your words and make them into something awful and something you never meant it to be.
It’s hard to find normal celebrities.
It’s hard to find people who don’t want something from you.
I know what I like to listen to on the radio. I know what I like to sing along to in the car. So any time I heard a song for the first album, I’d put it in the context of, Okay, would I turn the channel? Would I listen to this whole song or would I skip to the next one? It was really important to me because all I knew was how to be a consumer. I didn’t know how to be an artist.
After I released “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” people started saying, Oh, it’s kind of risky. You’re coming out with a religious song. And I was thinking, Really? I grew up in Oklahoma, I always had a close relationship with God. I never thought it was risky in the least. If anything, I thought it was the safest thing I could do.
I’ve seen people that get onstage and sing while they have tears running down their face ? I can’t do that. When I cry, it starts like in my throat, so when I have something that’s really emotional, sometimes if I access that too much, I can’t finish the song.
Singing is just a feeling set to music.
A guy can come in and have a big beer belly and he doesn’t have to be anything but himself, whereas women have to wear the heels. We’re probably missing out on a lot of wonderful talent.
Simon’s obviously very smart. But he’s not the smartest person I know.
When people think of what it’s like to be famous, they think of the Ritz. But I’ve been in hotels where I will not take my shoes off. I will wear flip-flops in the shower. I’ve seen more basements of venues than I’ve seen of the United States. People think, Oh, you travel around, you get to see the country. I’ve seen basements, I’ve seen concrete, I’ve seen pillars.
Americans don’t need Carrie Underwood telling them who to vote for. They’re smarter than that.
Nobody’s going to tell me that my dog doesn’t love me. That’s crazy talk.
Don’t buy a puppy because it’s cute.
I can’t watch animal movies. I watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua and sobbed, because of all the dogfighting stuff they had in there. This little Chihuahua gets stuck in a Mexican dogfighting ring, and it’s supposed to be funny, but oh no, it’s not. Because I know that stuff is true.
Is “Cowboy Casanova” about the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys? No. I would never immortalize a guy that did me wrong. I would never give him that much credit.

Crap, I found myself agreeing with her on a lot of this stuff. Does that mean I have to like Carrie now? Because I don?t wanna. Hmpf. No, I totally understand the stuff about her dogs, and I love that she said ?Americans don’t need Carrie Underwood telling them who to vote for. They’re smarter than that.? That?s an awesome sentiment. I do think ?Cowboy Casanova? was probably in part about Romo, because Carrie was a total bitch about him after that relationship. Sigh? Carrie is a mixed bag.

Carrie Underwood showed off her bikini body Monday during a vacation in the Bahamas.“Just thought I’d write and make you all jealous by telling you about the wonderful time I’m having in the Bahamas!” she wrote on her official fan club site this weekend. “It was a breezy 80 something outside and the sun was shining bright…I managed to get a nice little bronzy color today. I’m actually a wee bit burned, but it doesn’t hurt. I’ll have to break out the SPF tomorrow … This is the best vacation I have been on in a long time.”

Carrie Underwood was down in the Bahamas recently and lucky for us someone managed to snap some pictures of her in a bikini. We’ve seen Carrie Underwood bikini pictures before, but it’s been quite some time ago. I must admit she does look pretty damn good wearing that two-piece. I’m also a bit jealous that she’s lounging around soaking up the sun while I’m sitting here watching it rain!
