Looking quite the fashionista, Carrie Underwood was spotted out and about in Midtown Manhattan on Monday night (November 2).
The country singing cutie is in the Big Apple tending to promotional duties, fresh off of a stop at the “Late Show with David Letterman” earlier in the day.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, Miss Underwood’s third album, “Play On,” debuts this week and is still very much country complete with banjo, pedal steel and mandolin, although the album is said to have different musical textures adding a level of maturity to it.
Of her newest project, Carrie tells press, “This has been kind of my first attempt at love songs and I think there’s a reason for that. I think it’s because I’m a private person anyway, and I’m not so great with emotions.

"American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood kick-started her career on Fox, so it's only fitting that she get her own show on the network this holiday season. The country superstar will host her own special on December 7, tentatively titled "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show will be executive-produced by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller and directed by "So You Think You Can Dance" producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe and his frequent "SYTYCD" cohort, "Hairspray" director Adam Shankman. So far, a handful of guests are already booked, including legend Dolly Parton, country singer Brad Paisley and fellow "Idol" winner David Cook. The show will feature a combination of musical performances and comedy sketches written by veterans from "Seinfeld" and "Frasier."
Underwood isn't the only "Idol" alum to celebrate the holidays on TV this season. Season three vet Jennifer Hudson will host a show called "Jennifer Hudson: I'll Be Home for Christmas" for ABC in December. Unlike Underwood's show (which will take a variety show approach), "I'll Be Home for Christmas" will be an autobiographical tour through Hudson's holiday past.
Underwood's third album, Play On, will be released on November 3 and features collaborations with Max Martin, Kara DioGuardi, Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida and Josh Kear (who penned Underwood's smash hit "Before He Cheats"). Before the holiday special, she'll appear as the co-host (with Paisley) of the CMA Awards, where she is also nominated for two prizes (for Female Vocalist of the Year — versus Taylor Swift — and for Musical Event of the Year).

She’s best known for her country crooning career following a big win on “American Idol” season four, but Carrie Underwood is out to prove she’s more than just a pretty voice.
The “Jesus, Take the Wheel” singer will be starring in her very own two-hour Christmas variety show on the FOX network this holiday season.
“Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special” will include guests like Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, and fellow “AI” alum David Cook.
The show will include special performances from Carrie as well, including her own hits and a few holiday classics peppered in as well. Underwood’s variety show will air December 7th.

She’s no stranger to airports, and yesterday (October 4) Carrie Underwood was spotted arriving at LAX amidst a sea of paparazzi.
Joined by her pooch pal, the “Jesus, Take the Wheel” songstress looked a bit tuckered out as she carried her luggage through the terminal.
Over the weekend, Miss Underwood’s new video for “Cowboy Cassanova” premiered as part of CMT’s Big New Music Weekend, along with videos from Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, and Sugarland.
And Carrie told press that she took a full two days to shoot the video, something she hasn’t done before. “Usually we cram everything into one day because, goodness knows, what else I have to do—I’m off flying somewhere else doing something crazy. But it wasn’t all about me this time. We had dancers. We had a lot of people going on. It was just a lot of fun. You know, changing into one fabulous outfit after another and just going out and having a lot of fun with it. The energy was really good, and it made the day fly by.”

Earlier this week, Carrie Underwood had the opportunity to honor Randy Travis for his excellence in the country music industry over the past twenty-four years.
At the annual ACM Awards, Miss Underwood was among those to take the stage during a night full of tributes to the great singers in the country music industry.
Asked a few questions during the course of the ceremony, Carrie replied to chat about an upcoming performance and if it would include Randy, to which she replied, “Nah! He’s just going to sit back and enjoy..well, you never know! He likes surprising me!”
Last year, Travis surprised Underwood while she was on stage singing and also invited her to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Underwood joked, saying that every time she sings, “I Told You So,” she makes sure Randy isn’t there behind her.
Carrie also added that it was nice to see faces she doesn’t always get to see. She was able to greet Miranda Lambert and was interested to see Patty Loveless and big icons in the industry.

Getting back to her roots, Carrie Underwood was spotted presenting her alma mater Checotah High School with a massive donation to their music program today (August 28).
The “Jesus Take the Wheel” songstress surprised students with over $117,000 worth of new musical instruments, a joint gift from her C.A.T.S. Foundation and ACM Lifting Lives organization.
Joining music teacher Kathy Cooper on stage in the school’s auditorium, Carrie proclaimed, “Mrs. Cooper gave me my first chance to perform on stage. The music program is so important. ... My career has given me this opportunity to give back.”
Principle Brian Terry told press, “Carrie told me backstage that she’s never been so nervous. She said that she can perform in front of thousands of people, but this program is very important to her. Our band program is both very good and very competitive. This gift has been in the works for months.”

The “Before He Cheats” songstress gave a rousing performance at the Salute to the Troops! concert, held at the Division Parade Field at Fr. Campbell, Kentucky.
Miss Underwood looked lovely in a white and brown sleeveless dress with a thick leather belt and a big smile as she took the stage to sing to our nation’s servicemen and women.
And Carrie wasn’t the only country superstar in the house- Hank Williams Jr. also showed up and rocked out for the troops.
