Enjoying a leisurely Columbus Day holiday, Britney Spears dropped by Starbucks in Calabasas, CA on Monday (October 11).
Sporting an unkempt hairdo, the "Gimme More" singer flashed a big smile as she cheerfully picked up a caffeine beverage alongside her trusty security staffer.
Currently in the midst of putting together a new album, recent reports from E! tell that Miss Spears' team recently gathered an ensemble of top music minds in Dallas to put together material for the pop star.
Talking about the disc, OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder said, "It's mind-bendy and trippy. I applaud the label for saying, 'We're not going to do what's always been done.' I think Britney's such an innovator. She needs to be in the forefront, you know what I mean? You can't come out with something sounding like someone else."

Drawing an end to the week, Britney Spears was spotted out shopping with her bodyguards at the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, CA on Friday (October 8).
Wearing a lacy white bra under her see-through shirt, the "Womanizer" singer dutifully checked out the offerings at the local shops before proceeding back to the homefront.
The sighting comes just as the people over at FOX are feeling the heat from the Parents Television Council - who have lashed out at the recent Britney-based episode of "Glee".
A message from the group wrote, "Glee earned its highest ratings ever with this Britney Spears tribute, drawing 13.3 million viewers. A scary thought considering that the mostly young teen/tween audience basically witnessed an endorsement of narcotics abuse, public masturbation, and school-sanctioned burlesque."
The statement adds, "But perhaps most troubling is the deification of a troubled pop star into a symbol of empowerment and self-esteem. Considering her stints in rehab, her very public breakdowns, and her questionable parenting skills, there is absolutely no way Spears should be considered a role model. The producers of the show can spare us the old song-and-dance about fallen celebs turning their lives around. What's next? Portraying Ike Turner as a reformed feminist?"

Yesterday, Britney Spears headed out of her house in a pair of jeans, a tank top, a comfortable-looking cardigan and a pair of sneakers. Two bodyguards joined her on her shopping jaunt. Her busted and tragic weave was loose and free and all was well with the world - in a few months, there is a very real possibility that Britney?s conservatorship could be over. Britney is smiling for a reason. She could be in control of her own destiny very soon.
So what did Britney do to celebrate? According to Us Weekly, ?Before she left the Only Hearts boutique in Santa Monica, , Spears oddly slipped into a lace-trimmed nightie and blue leather boots. Judging by photos that hit the web Thursday, she also forgot to put on a bra. Spears didn’t seem to mind. Accompanied by bodyguards, the mother of two kept smiling as photographers snapped away.? That?s right, Brit stopped, mid-shopping-jaunt, to change into a nightie. And she tried to contain the busted weave into? something. I don?t know, it?s pulled back and she looks like she rubbed some olive oil in it. Oh, Britney. This isn?t going to get you your freedom any time soon.
Is anyone else worried about what will happen if Britney?s conservatorship does end any time soon? This could be a preview. Also - her poor bodyguards. You know Jamie Spears probably yelled at them when Britney got home.

Gearing up for the fall season, Britney Spears shopped up a storm in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday afternoon (October 6).
The "Gimme More" singer opted to visit the popular Only Hearts boutique on Montana Avenue before leaving clad in a brand new outfit while her bodyguard toted a fresh pair of Frye boots as they headed to their nearby car.
The shopping spree comes after Miss Spears helped deliver record ratings during her "Glee" episode - with 13.3 million viewers tuning in.
The 28-year-old was so happy with how everything turned out that she even sent a bouquet of flowers to cast member Heather Morris following the episode's airing.
Miss Morris told E! Online, "She sent me flowers saying 'Good job! Love, Britney'. So I'm gonna make her something and send it to her."

Stepping out for a midday retail session, Britney Spears and Jason Trawick were spotted shopping for the boys at Toys"R"Us in Woodland Hills, CA on Saturday (October 2).
Showing off her three butterfly tattoos while her Pink bra popped out from her shirt, the "Gimme More" singer and her man loaded up on toys including a gumball machine from which Sean Preston and Jayden James can get their candy treats.
The weekend shopping session comes just after Miss Spears was smacked with a $55,000 lawsuit at the hands of former nanny Ferial Zaltash.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Miss Zaltash claims that she was unpaid for the month in which she worked for Britney as a personal assistant and nanny in September 2007.

While she's certainly on a much brighter path as compared to a few years ago, Britney Spears once again finds herself dealing with legal drama.
By no means something she needs to deal with at the time, the "Womanizer" singer has just been smacked with a lawsuit at the hands of former nanny Ferial Zaltash.
Reports tell that Miss Zaltash claims that she was unpaid for the month in which she worked for Britney as a personal assistant and nanny in September 2007.
Interestingly enough, Ferial has figured her month's worth of service deserves a payday of $35,202 while tacking on an extra $19,940 in penalties for lost interest.
So far, there's been no response from the Spears camp while a court date has yet to have been set in hopes that the issue can be handled outside of the legal system.

Thursday afternoon, Britney Spears, her father Jamie and their assorted lawyers went in for a scheduled meeting with the judge overseeing Britney?s conservatorship. According to Radar, Britney and Jamie met with the judge separately, my guess is that the judge wanted to evaluate how Britney was doing in her own words. In the end, the judge decided that the conservatorship should continue, and that Jamie should still continue on as Britney?s de facto guardian. She turns 29 years old in December.
A judge in Los Angeles Thursday announced that the conservatorship involving Britney Spears’ vast estate will continue as is - at least for the time being.
After meeting separately in closed chambers with both Spears and with her father Jamie - who controls his daughter’s personal and financial matters- Judge Reva Goetz said in open court, “I met with him (Jamie) and her (Britney) spearately. I had a very nice conversation with her. Mr. Ingham (Britney’s attorney ) was present.”
In all, Judge Goetz met with Britney for about a half hour; she did not reveal what they discussed.
Judge Goetz then said another hearing on the matter will be held on October 14.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Spears - wearing a black dress with an open back and black ankle boots - arrived to the courthouse around 9:20 a.m. PT. Thursday for the status hearing. She was surrounded by deputies and taken immediately into the judge’s chambers; her father had arrived to the courthouse earlier in the morning.
Spears, 28, has been under the conservatorship since January 2008, after having several very public breakdowns.
Spears has made tremendous progress since that very dark time in her life. Having a blockbuster world tour in 2009, and with a rumored album to be released in 2011, Britney 2.0 is better than ever. Britney has been dating her former manager, Jason Tarwick, and the two just recently returned from a Hawaiian vacation. Britney essentially has joint custody of her two sons, with ex-husband, Jayden James and Sean Preston.

It?s a little depressing to think that Britney still needs her dad to protect her, mentally, emotionally, physically and however else. But I also kind of understand it - and I think Jamie probably is giving Britney more responsibilities gradually. Should I make a joke about her biggest responsibility? I think it?s ?wearing a bra.? Brit has gotten so much better at that one. And she hasn?t flashed her cooter too much either. I think it?s just been two or three times in the past year. But the biggest ?tell? for Britney is the state of the busted weave. The worse the weave, the more insane. Hand to God. Jamie needs to get on that.

In the cover story, it?s mostly about Britney?s appearance on Glee and how she?s back on track, career-wise. Sources tell the mag that Britney is back to 50-50 custodial visitation with her sons, and that her relationship with them is ?better and more natural as they have gotten older? they sing and dance and play make-believe. They love to go swimming and be outside running around and being wild. Britney has help, but she is loving and protective and very involved.? Her relationship with K-Fed has improved too, and they talk all the time about the kids, and they try to use the same set of rules in both houses. But- Britney hates K-Fed?s girlfriend Victoria Prince, so K-Fed keeps them separated.
As far as her relationship with Jason Trawick - it has made her ?optimistic about her future for the first time.? They have a low-key relationship, cooking dinner and watching DVDs. A source says: ?Britney knows he is her Mr. Right. They are on the same page with where this is headed.? They also think that Jason may propose next year.
Sources also say that she sees a therapist ?a few times a week? and she takes medication for her bipolar disorder: ?She can?t be cured per se? but she can control it.? And while Britney used to hate that her father controlled every aspect of her life, sources claim that she?s ?finally come to terms with her situation.?

Heading to pick up her boys after a court meeting, Britney Spears was spotted in Encino, California earlier today (September 30).
The ?Circus? star looked to be in good spirits, despite the fact that she was denied the right to control her own finances.
According to TMZ, Judge Goetz met with both Brit and her father individually and revealed, ?At this time all orders will remain in full force and effect.?
Furthermore, after a petition was pitched to get approval on the ?investment strategies? of Britney?s trust, the judge gave the go-ahead.

Making for one of the show's most-anticipated episodes, Britney Spears was the center of attention on the hit show "Glee" on Tuesday night (September 28).
Taking fans through the action moment-by-moment, the "Gimme More" singer tweeted throughout the episode as she first wrote, "Getting ready to watch GLEE! I'll be tweeting along with the episode. -Brit"
As for her posts, Brit Brit complimented the "Glee" stars on their work, tweeting, "Awww Heather Morris is sooo cute! Brittany S Pearce. Ha! She was so fun to work with and was really sweet in person."
Continuing on, Miss Spears then wrote, "John Stamos is still hot! He looks the same as he did on Full House."
Happy with the finished product, the 29-year-old ended her commentary by tweeting, "?I loved it! Thank you guys SO much for making this happen!?
