These are photos of Britney Spears at an X Factor finalists party last night in LA. She looks happy, healthy and pretty here. I’d like to see her with some lighter eye makeup, but this heavy eyeliner is her signature look and that’s a minor complaint. Britney has actually performed well as a judge on the show, she’s harsher than people expected and more composed than we expected. She seems like she’s in a good place, although there’s still the question of whether she’s being led by her handlers or if she’s making her own decisions about her life. Either way, she seems somewhat content and together. That big lawsuit against her by her former self-declared “manager” has been thrown out of court, so that must be a relief.
Now that Britney is moving on with her life while bringing in piles of cash, she’s going to make some more money by “writing” a thinly veiled work of fiction about her life. This seems like just another way for Britney’s people to package her, while glossing over her very public breakdown. I guess it’s not a bad idea. Here’s more, from The Hollywood Reporter:
Britney Spears is close to signing a book deal, The Hollywood Reporter has learned, with plans to write a novel.
Her rep confirms that It Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, which has released many popular musician memoirs (among them: autobiographies by Sammy Hagar, The Game, Slash and Motley Crue), is having “discussions” with the singer. (A rep for It would not confirm.)
A source tells THR Spears would pen a roman a clef for the publisher. The story would incorporate fictionalized versions of her own experiences, much like Lauren Conrad?s 2009 New York Times bestseller L.A. Candy, which was about a girl who moves to Los Angeles and becomes the star of a reality show. Conrad, who starred in The Hills, has written two more novels since.
Indeed, Spears is the latest in a growing cadre of headline-grabbers who dabble in books. They include the Kardashians and Jersey Shore?s Nicole ?Snooki? Polizzi.
No word yet on when a Spears book may be released, but with the singer appearing on a network TV show (and being paid handsomely for it — in the vicinity of $15 million) and having sold nearly 100 million albums worldwide in her career, the advance is likely to be substantial.

Spears rep did semi-confirm this story. He told MTV “To my knowledge there are discussions but nothing confirmed.”
I’ve read portions of Snooki’s book and Nicole Richie’s book, and both were God awful. They read like the celebrities had written the books themselves with minimal editing. In contrast, Levi Johnston’s memoir was interesting and well written. That was down to his talented “co” writers, whom he did thank by name. You know he didn’t write a word. Britney will probably talk to a writer for a few hours, and that person will whip up a decent novel loosely based on her life and painted with a much prettier brush. They’ll send drafts to her people to review, and it will get published with minimal input from Britney. That seems to happen a lot for her – she gets pushed into things and doesn’t have a lot of say in what happens. Maybe I’m wrong, or maybe it’s good for her to be out of her comfort zone. She seems to be in a decent place now so what better time to put out a book? I’m not being entirely facetious, either.

Getting ready to celebrate the top 12 contestants on her hit Fox show, Britney Spears made her arrival at ?The X Factor? finalists party in Beverly Hills, CA on Monday (November 5).
The Grammy Award-winning songstress, who is currently a judge on the reality competition, looked beautiful in black as she made her way into the luxurious SLS Hotel.
Looking eager to move her ?teen? group through the competition, Britney tweeted late last week, ?So impressed by the contestants this week. Especially my teens :) Stars are really starting to shine... bring on nxt week!?
On hand for the evenings festivities were newly announced hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez, along with Spears? fellow judges Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.
Celebrating their success thus far, the final twelve individuals/groups, Jennel Garcia, CeCe Frey, Paige Thomas, Beatrice Miller, Arin Ray, Vino Allen, Jason Brock, Tate Stevens, Emblem3, LYRIC 145, 1432 and Carly Rose Sonenclar, were also on hand.

Making for a red carpet full of beauty, the show?s co-judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, along with new host Khloe Kardahshian, all worked the SLS Hotel media line before heading in to mingle with the contestants.

They?ve been dealing with the drama of Sam Lutfi?s allegations for three years and earlier today (November 1) Britney Spears' family breathed a huge collective sigh of relief.
A Los Angeles judge dismissed the wannabe manager?s entire libel/unpaid wages lawsuit, citing that Lutfi?s attorney never met the burden of proof required for such charges.
Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera stated, "I really thought long and hard about this? It's the right thing to do."
And though he couldn?t seem to seal the deal after six days of testimony, Sam defiantly declared, "I'm going to appeal,? as he left the courtroom.
Lutfi had been trying to prove that Britney?s mother Lynne Spears defamed him in her book, while Spears? father Jamie forced him out of his managerial role for the ?Toxic? songstress. He claimed that the whole ordeal ended up costing him millions and gave him a bad reputation.

In a lawsuit filed by her former manager for unpaid fees, Britney Spears ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib took the stand on Tuesday (October 30).
The paparazzo and the pop princess dated back in 2008 and he was questioned for details about the relationship in court. When asked how often he was with her while they dated, he replied, "Daily. I was there everyday."
Upon questioning, the 40-year-old denied he ever saw ex-manager Sam Lutfi hide cell phones from the singer or withhold access to her dog, London.
However, on cross-examination, he confirmed that he bought a disposable cell phone at Lufti's request to be smuggled to the "Toxic" singer in 2008 after her father had obtained legal control over her. He also admitted that there was a court order for him to stay away from the singer for three years.
In addition to unpaid fees, Lutfi is suing Jamie Spears for allegedly punching him and Lynne Spears for allegedly defaming him in her 2008 book, Through The Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.

Dishing about her hit reality show ?The X Factor,? Britney Spears pretaped an appearance on ?The Tonight Show with Jay Leno? on Monday (October 29).
The "I Wanna Go" songstress was looking fab in a cleavage-baring, houndstooth and plaid mini dress as she grabbed a seat at NBC's Burbank studios alongside Simon Cowell to chat with Leno about the FOX competition series.
And while Miss Spears is definitely used to being showered with love from her many adoring fans, she admitted that hearing boos and being critical to others while she sits at the judge?s table is a little difficult.
?It?s really hard, but you know if they?re supposed to be a doctor and they?re wasting seven years of their life doing something like that? I would want to know,? the 30-year-old explained.
During the appearance, which airs at 11:30PM ET/PT on NBC, Britney and Simon also treated viewers to an "X-Factor" political commercial featuring both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

These are some photos of Britney Spears in LA on Friday. I didn?t even glance through these photos before right now, which happens sometimes, even when the celebrity in the pics is noteworthy. Even though I think we need to get used to the fact that Britney is NEVER again going to look like the young naf of the early aughts, I do think Britney has been looking increasingly better over the past year, maybe over the past two years. Maybe that?s why I didn?t pay much attention to these photos ? the Britney with the gross, matted weave is gone, replaced with a young woman who keeps it reasonably together. Sort of.
Anyway, these pics are notable because A) Britney is shopping at Gelson?s (most celebs choose the more pap-friendly Whole Foods) and because B) Britney has NEW BANGS! People Mag notes that the fringe/bangs are ?reminiscent of the early aughts (in fact, it reminded us of her ??Baby One More Time? days).? Now, it?s perfectly possible that Britney has those clip-on, insert-bangs that so many people have these days? God knows, I can?t even remember a time when Britney wore only her own hair and not some extensions, weaves or clip-in pieces. But let?s discuss the bangs in general, shall we?
The truth is, I don?t hate them on Britney. It?s a ?youthful? look on her, perhaps too ?youthful? for a woman of 30, but they also work in the other direction too ? they make her look like a young soccer mom. There are an awful lot of women who look exactly like this in my town. It?s the ?Carrie Underwood style? ? Southern prom queen, etc. They?re also Mom Bangs. Except? all of the moms that I see wear bras. Why does Brit-Brit hate foundation pieces so much?

Out for a little weekend primping, Britney Spears hit up her hair salon in Beverly Hills, CA on Saturday (October 20).
The ?X-Factor? judge went for comfort on her day off, wearing grey sweat pants and a striped top, while sporting freshly-colored blonde locks.
Although Britney seemed to be having a fairly relaxed day, the ?Toxic? songstress? family is in the middle of a heated lawsuit with Spears' former "manager," Sam Lufti.
Lutfi is suing Jamie Spears (Britney?s father) for battery, Lynne Spears (Britney?s mother) for defaming him in her book, ?Through the Storm,? and the pop starlet for not compensating him an agreed upon 15 percent of her earnings.
According to a report, Leon Gladstone, Jamie?s attorney, explained to jurors on Friday (October 19) that back in 2008, Mr. Spears confronted Lufti at Britney?s home in Beverly Hills, and admits to touching him one time, but denies a punch was ever thrown.
An attorney for Lynne also added to the arguments, claiming that defamation from her book was impossible "because his reputation was at such a low point [in the tabloids] that nothing could reduce it further."
Alongside her parents' battles, Joel Boxer, an attorney representing Britney, also defended the singer, explaining that there was never a written or oral agreement in place for Lufti to be the singer?s official manager, and he's therefore denied andy rights to her earnings.
This was day two of the legal proceedings, and things are set to continue with witness testimonies on Monday.

Out for week-ending errand run, Britney Spears stopped to grab a caffeine fix at a local Starbucks in Los Angeleson Friday (October 19).
The casually clad ?Circus? songstress gingerly sipped on her beverage before heading off to Gelson?s Market for some grocery shopping with her growing young sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston Federline.
And while Miss Spears welcomed the family down time, she was busy just one day prior while hitting the gym and striking poses for a fragrance photo shoot.

She?s no stranger to star-studded shindigs, and last night (October 10) Britney Spears showed up at the City of Hope Gala in Los Angeles.
Joined by her hunky beau Jason Trawick, the ?Baby One More Time? singer pranced around in a a Halston dress paired with YSL heels at the Exchange LA venue.
Meanwhile Britney will be back in action with Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and LA Reid with a brand new episode of ?The X Factor? tonight at 8:00pm.
And next month, she?ll host ?We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston,? including performances from Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Celine Dion, Yolanda Adams and Cece Winans.

Britney Spears has been under a court-ordered conservatorship for the last four years, but it was recently revealed that she’s on such a tight leash that even her internet and cell phone usage are restricted (as for a reason why she’s still being so closely monitored after four years, please see photo above). Radar Online says:
“Britney’s cell phone and internet use is restricted and heavily monitored, and this is done for her protection,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Britney’s father, Jamie, and her fiance, Jason, want to make sure that her former manager, Sam Lutfi, isn’t able to contact her. Britney and Jason essentially share a cell phone, and it’s routinely checked to see who has been calling. Furthermore, the cell phones have been programmed to block calls from phone numbers associated with Lutfi. Brit’s computer usage is also restricted in the sense that certain websites are blocked. Her family doesn’t want Britney reading negative stories that would upset her. Again, this is all done with love and for her well-being.”
You’d think after being baby-sat for four years, she’d finally have her shit together enough to use a computer. You would be wrong. Just like you were wrong about being a winter. Jewel tones really don’t do you justice at all.
