Ready to tackle the first round of auditions as an "X-Factor" judge, Britney Spears embraced a cheering crowd as she swept into the Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on Thursday (May 24).
Giving the cameras a big smile, the "Gimme More" singer posed for pictures before auditions kicked off - looking stunning in a plunging hot Pink mini dress and black pumps as she prepared to record the first two episodes of the Fox show.
Keeping her fans up-to-date, Britney tweeted moments ago, "Just arrived for @TheXFactorUSA auditions - hope everyone is ready! Still waiting on @SimonCowell of course...."
The pop princess has been getting a lot of advice from former judges of the "X-Factor", as Paula Abdul told Perez Hilton, "I think it's going to be great, and I'll tell you why. I think people are anticipating seeing Britney Spears. She's overcome a tremendous amount of adversity. And I'm always for the underdog coming back.She's a big star".
Meanwhile, former judge Nicole Scherzinger added in an interview with E! Online, "Britney is so bubbly and warm and everyone loves her anyway, so she just has to be herself.I think that it's something that we can't deny, but there's something about Britney that we ... are always rooting for her and behind her, no matter what".

I guess now that Britney Spears is officially going to be a judge on the The X-Factor, I don’t really know what qualifies her to judge others but what do I know, we’re going to be seeing a whole lot more of her. I guess I’m alright with that, she seems to have gotten herself

After a month or so of rumors, Britney Spears has ironed out all the details with producers at X Factorto become the latest judge to join Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.
Spears will receive $15 million for one season of sitting at a table telling people whether or not they suck. “The contract is signed,” reveals source close to the star. “There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she’s on. It’s all completed and Britney is beyond excited.”
What remains a mystery is who will listen to her advice considering the amount of auto-tuning and computer wizardry that goes into making one of her songs. The most valuable advice Britney could give is to practice lipsyncing to your backup track the night before.

These are some new photos of Britney Spears and Jason Trawick taking Sean Preston and Jayden James to go bowling on 1/30. Those boys are growing up fast, and I dread the day they end up Googling their mother and seeing all of the strange behavior that led up to her 5150 hold (way back in 2008) not to mention the shaved head, the umbrella attack, the Pink wig, and the crotch-baring outings with Paris Hilton. Thankfully, Britney is mostly “together” these days other than the occasional report of her acting spacey in a nail salon. She remains heavily medicated but still managed to pull off a (financially) successful world tour and is now preparing to marry Jason and, hopefully, live happily ever after.
However, a lingering reminder of more troubled times threatened to come to a head when Britney’s ex-bodyguard, Fernando Flores, filed a lawsuit that stated that Britney sexually harassed him (from February – May 2010). Amongst his claims were allegations that Britney walked around naked in front of him, tried to beckon him for sex, took a bunch of drugs, and persisted in burping, farting, and picking her nose to the point of excess. Some of these claims were believeable (especially since Britney has flashed all her good in public on more than one occasion), but Fernando crossed the line by alleging that Britney also beat her sons, had sex in front of them, and fed them foods to which they were allergic. Fernando insisted that he suffered “psychological damage, anxiety attacks, depression and insomnia” and wanted to collect $10 million in damages for his troubles. In an interesting move, Britney has now settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount:
Britney Spears has settled a lawsuit filed by Fernando Flores, a bodyguard who worked for her for a very short time — a bodyguard who claimed Britney was a sex-crazed maniac who came on to him and flashed him.
Sources close to Britney say the lawsuit is total B.S. — he worked for her for about a minute.
Nonetheless … Britney decided to end the lawsuit after going before a private mediator … and it’s officially case closed.
As for whether Britney paid Flores any loot … no one is talking. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

Okay, so Britney settled this lawsuit, but that doesn’t mean she’s admitting to sexually harassing Flores while he worked as her bodyguard. The vast majority of lawsuits settle, and they do so for a variety of reasons. Yes, Britney may have flashed this guy and probably picked her nose and farted in front of him a lot. Did she insist that he have sex with her? No one besides Britney and Flores will ever know the answer to that question. However and if we assume that Britney did not do so, I will proffer the theory that she settled this suit because she doesn’t want to deal with the hassle of a trial.
Going to court would have meant that Britney would have to potentially relive those years where her behavior was truly erratic. This would be a painful experience for her, and I think she’s really ready to move on with life. Since her conservatorship will end when she marries Jason in the near future, I think Britney wants a fresh start, and settling this long-running lawsuit is a part of that desire. Hopefully, she didn’t pay the guy anywhere near the $10 million he was asking the court to hand award him.

Here are some more photos of Britney Spears last Saturday, at Clive Davis?s pre-Grammy party. This was (maybe) before everyone found out that Whitney Houston had died. Many of you thought that Britney looked like hell for this public appearance – I claimed she looked okay? you know, just because I was trying to be nice. Her body looks okay. Her hair isn?t busted. But she looked really tired and kind of out-of-it. Which is worrying – Britney?s conservatorship is scheduled to end when she marries Jason Trawick. Is she marrying a man she loves or a caretaker who will look out for her? Or a little of both? Anyway, Star Magazine has a story this week about some old-school Brit-Brit going down? this time with less head-shavin?.
Britney Spears has gotten her act together since her infamous breakdown years ago – but it seems the singer may still have a hint of crazy in her! Britney was acting wacky when she recently stopped in for a manicure and a neck massage at the Hands On Boutique Spa in Beverly Hills, an insider tells Star.
?Her eyes were completely glassy, and she was acting very lethargic,? the source says. ?After her massage was over, Britney was asked if she wanted to add another 15 minutes. She looked at the masseuse with a confused look on her face and asked, ?What does that mean?? She didn?t seem to understand. The employees were saying, ?Wow, what?s with her???
After pampering, Britney stood up to leave and dropped a bunch of change on the floor. But she didn?t even bother to pick it up!
?Maybe that was supposed to be the tip,? the source says. ?Because she sure as hell didn?t give one! She was sweet – but just an idiot.?

I don?t know what?s emotionally or chemically wrong with Britney. I?m not saying that in a judgy way, I?m saying that in a ?I don?t know what kind of medication she?s on, so I?m not sure what to say? way. It seems like some of these accounts of Britney acting out of it are really stories about her medication being messed up, though. She seems out-of-it and lethargic, not even really grasping her surroundings. It sounds like she might be on some heavy-duty anti-psychotic, perhaps? That?s what I always think when I hear these stories – her doctors need to keep a closer eye on her dosages.
As for Britney being an “idiot”… that’s not the word I’d use to describe someone who was glassy-eyed and acting lethargic. That being said, Brit was never the brightest bulb. Somebody just hand her a hawt derg and a frap, and she?ll be okay.

Certainly the place to be seen, the 2012 Pre-Grammy Gala and Salute To Industry Icons drew out a handful of showbiz stars in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday night (February 11).
Taking place at the Beverly Hilton, Britney Spears turned up with fiance Jason Trawick to partake in the fete honoring Richard Branson.
Rounding out the guest list were Adam Lambert, Adam Lambert and Blake Shelton, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Kim Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Michelle Trachtenberg and Darren Criss.
The Beverly Hilton event comes on the eve of the biggest night in music - as the 54th annual Grammy Awards will air live from Staples Center on Sunday, February 12th at 7ET/5PT on CBS.

Looking to spend some active quality time with her kiddos, Britney Spears was spotted heading off to Harley?s Camarillo Bowling Alley in Camarillo, California yesterday (January 29).
The ?Baby One More Time? songstress was joined by her fiance Jason Trawick, sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, and mother Lynne as she piled into her Range Rover SUV.
In career news, Britney has teamed up with will.i.am and Shakira for a brand new track that will be featured on will?s new album willpower.
Of the project, will.i.am told press, "I have a song with Alicia Keys - me, Alicia and (house music group) Swedish House Mafia. Me and Shakira have been trying to finish the stuff we started, and me and Britney is really crazy. So we got a song with me, Lmfao and Eva Simons. A song with me and Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beatz. I got a whole other bunch of collaborations."

Looking as happy as can be, Britney Spears emerged from seclusion while being spotted out in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday (January 24).
The ?Gimme More? mama smiled from ear-to-ear upon picking up her boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James, from a birthday party at a local playhouse.
And now that the super starlet is engaged to be married to Jason Trawick, recent reports are saying that Brit?s father Jamie Spears is ready to end his conservatorship - which would give Britney complete control of her finances and business decisions, once again.
Although nothing has been confirmed, rumors are suggesting that Spears and Trawick will tie the knot on Valentine?s Day in Maui, Hawaii and, according to a source, ?Jamie wants to go to court in early February so Britney will be a free woman in every sense when she marries.?
