Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg caused a lot of controversy/discussion when her memoir/business advice book Lean In was published last year. I never got around to reading it, but I read a lot of the coverage of the book, which had the central premise of ?women need to ?lean in? to their careers? and ?career ambition is not a bad thing for women.? Sandberg was criticized for speaking to (and for) a lot of upper-class, educated white women exclusively, but I kind of thought that the general points about setting career goals, seeking mentorships with powerful women and men and fighting for your own interests were well-received. Sandberg wasn?t trying to say ?every woman needs to be like this? or ?my experience was universal.? She meant to start a larger conversation and that?s what she did.
Well, now Sandberg is doing a ?Lean In? PSA for Lifetime called ?Ban Bossy?. The PSA also stars Jennifer Garner, Jane Lynch, Beyonce, secretary of education Arne Duncan and more. The idea is that when men take control and have ambitions, they?re called ?the boss.? When women do the same, they?re called ?bossy,? like it?s a pejorative. Beyonce chimes in at the end of the PSA with this: ?I’m not bossy. I’m the boss.”
Tina Fey wrote about this ?bossy? issue in her wonderful memoir Bossypants as well. Tina has always been ?bossy? ? and she ended up becoming the boss, an employer to many, many people. Speaking as someone who was called ?bossy? time and time again when I was a girl? this is a great message. Really. Except that when I was called bossy, I never took it as an insult. I was always like, ?Oh, I guess I?m bossy then. Now let me tell you what to do.?

Spending some romantic time together, Beyonce and her man Jay-Z were spotted leaving Cecconi's restaurant in Mayfair, London today (March 7).
Stunning in a tight Pink dress, the "Drunk in Love" singer was all smiles as she and a hooded Jay became surrounded by fans and photographers alike.
Currently in the UK for the European leg of her Mrs. Carter World Show tour, Bey will be heading to Ireland where she is reportedly paying a hefty sum of ?14,000 for her six-day stay in Dublin, Ireland.
The 32-year-old booked the Penthouse suite at the Fitzwilliam Hotel for her Irish stay, as well as the executive suites and executive double rooms for her entire crew accompanying her until March 13th. Traveling in style suits you, Bey!

Beyonce played London?s O2 last night, and she had a special guest appearance by Jay-Z. After the show, Bey and Jay hit up The Arts Club for an after-party. I?m including photos of them during the concert and at the club. According to UK sources, Bey and Jay did not make it rain at the private club, nor did they stand on any tables and douse people in champagne. Apparently, they kept it quiet and subdued, which? sure. Beyonce was probably tired after her show. And earlier in the day, Beyonce had shopped until she dropped ? she went on a three-hour shopping spree at TopShop.
I saw this a few days ago and I was looking for an excuse to use it ? someone made an Emoji video for Beyonce?s ?Drunk In Love?. It?s really cute!!!

Beyonce also released the full-length music video for her single ?Partition?. I?m not even going to embed it because it?s pretty much NSFW in its entirety. I watched the ?SFW? version on VH1 the other day and I couldn?t really believe that Beyonce had gotten away with airing so many boob and butt shots. Anyway, you can see the video here ? Shortly after the Grammys this year, the fashion designer who dressed Beyonce gave an interview in which he claimed that Bey is currently ?smaller than a size 4.? This was heavily debated. It?s not that any of us think Beyonce is not in shape ? she is. That is without question. But Bey has always had curves and she almost always embraced those curves as a positive. That being said, over the course of the last year, she has lost weight and her curves have been downsized. Some of you think it was lipo. Some of you think that it was just diet and exercise. But can we agree that she probably isn?t a size 2? Or is that too controversial? Anyway, Star got the skinny (!) on how Beyonce lost the weight:
Beyonce?s flawless size-two body made jaws drop at the Grammys, and Star has uncovered exactly how the diva got in the best shape of her life.
Sources say Beyonce relied on trainer Marco Borges? plant-based diet, nixing all bread, pasta and sugar, instead opting for salads and veggie-based soups. But Queen Bey?s main trick for a royally amazing figure? Zero food between 8 pm and 8 am.
?Beyonce dances every day, so all she does on top of that is three minutes of squats, around 100,? reveals the insider. ?She does them until she?s out of breath and almost collapsing, but that?s exactly how she gets that butt.?

After she gave birth to Blue Ivy (cough), Beyonce talked a lot about what she was doing to drop the pregnancy weight, and she made it sound like she started training and working out just weeks after giving birth. So, I don?t doubt the dancing/squat part of this story. As for the ?no food between 8 and 8? thing ? I?ve heard that rule before. I couldn?t follow it because I get up early and I like a decent breakfast (a banana and yogurt, most days), but I do try to not snack in the evenings.
I?m also including some photos from Beyonce?s performance at the BRIT Awards. Her dress was designed by her tour costume designer, Vrettos Vrettakos, and she wore $2 million in Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. I could swear that there?s a girdle under that dress.

Beyonce?s Grammy performance is still ? I think? ? the most talked-about event from Sunday. People complained, for good reason ? it was a sexy, stripper-tastic performance at 8 pm on network TV. A lot of people though Beyonce and her #surfboard were the best part of a mediocre show though. Anyway, after she performed, Beyonce changed into this white lace number by Michael Costello (a Project Runway winner). We don?t have those pics, I?m sorry. It?s not really important. What?s important is what Costello says about working with Beyonce:
Viewers weren’t even done thinking about Beyonc’s ultra-sexy bodysuit from her racy opening performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards before they were introduced to yet another revealing outfit by the star.
Bey showed off a perforated, white-hot gown by Project Runway winner Michael Costello, that only covered up the naughtiest bits of her bod. And now, Costello dishes the details on designing the singer’s gown for music’s biggest night to E! News.
“It was incredible! We didn’t have any of her sizes or measurements,” Costello tells us. “The dress was just made to fit a sample mannequin. It’s smaller than a size 4. She is tiny! That dress is at least a 2/4. She looks amazing. I just love the way it all came together. Ty [Bey's stylist] knew it was going to fit.”
He continues, “At first I was a little concerned with the pieces I gave. Maybe it needs to be smaller or bigger? When you send something to Beyonc, you’re just a little concerned, but Ty knew. Ty knew the fit.”
In fact, Ty didn’t have have the fitting until the day of the show! Talk about pressure. Costello tells us the gown took three days to make and wasn’t even finished when Ty came to see how things were going. “The neckline, the back, the hemline was not complete, and we still had to do some of the hand sewing on it,” he tells us. “We put in a good extra day’s work. We had a great team. I made four other pieces that night for Beyonce, so that Ty had good options.”

So, there you go. Beyonce is smaller than a mannequin. She is a size 2 or 4. Which? I?m not sure I believe, but I am more likely to believe it about Bey rather than, say, Kim Kardashian. Bey has slimmed down a hell of a lot over the past year. I heard some of the Bey-haters suggest that Beyonce might have even had lipo on her famous booty and her coveted thighs. That is something I noticed about Beyonce?s Grammy performance ? when you look beyond the Flashdance cheese, Bey?s booty and thighs looked much smaller. I?m not saying it?s lipo. In fact, I?m pretty sure it?s diet and exercise. But is she a 2/4?

The 17 time Grammy winner appeared alone in the midst of a smoky stage, straddling a chair before her ?99 Problems? hubby Jay Z came out to join her to rap his controversial verse, grabbing his wife?s hand to bring this year?s electrifying opening performance to a close.

She took some serious risks by not promoting her latest self-titled album prior to its release, and Beyonc Knowles wasn?t initially sure she made the right call.
The ?Crazy in Love? singer told ABC News, "I was terrified. I was so scared. I already envisioned like the worst things that could happen. I was really nervous because this was a huge risk."
Thankfully, Knowles? new opus performed beyond her expectations, selling 617,000 copies domestically in the first week, and going on to be certified platinum soon thereafter.
As for her personal vulnerability on the project, Beyonce noted, "I'm very private and I'm very respectful, and I think it just took me no longer being someone's child ? once I became a mother, I felt like I could tear those fourth walls and I just felt like it was time. I completely feel liberated."
Knowles also talked about starting her own production company and parting ways with her father-manager. "I felt like I wanted follow in the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire. And (to) show other women when you get to this point in your career, you don't have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success, you can do it yourself."
"I took all of my insecurities, all of my doubts, all of my fears and everything I've learned over the 17 years and I applied it into this project. But more than the music ? I'm proud of myself as a woman ... the biggest message is owning your imperfections and all the things that make you interesting, because I refuse to allow someone to put me in anyone's box."

I couldn?t put my finger on who Beyonce reminded me of in these photos from her weekend album launch party/event. Then it hit me? this is totally something Kim Kardashian would have attempted. Kim?s version would have covered her thighs, I?m sure, but otherwise? this is totally Kardashian. I?m just going on faith that Beyonce is NOT revealing anything, cookie-wise. I can see that she seems to be wearing full-coverage underwear, and I?m not seeing nipples or anything, so let?s just leave it at that. Something nice: I covet Beyonce?s legs, especially her thighs.
I?m also including some photos of Beyonce?s other activities from the past few days, taken from her Instagram. Apparently, Beyonce was in Tewksbury, Massachusetts on Friday and she went to a? Wal-Mart. Seriously?! Beyonce?s getting better at promotional stunts, isn?t she?
Going to Walmart has never been more exciting. Tewksbury, Mass., locals were in for a treat on Friday when they strolled their neighborhood spot, only to find none other than Beyonc picking up her secretly dropped album from the store.
Just a couple hours before headlining The Mrs. Carter Tour at the TD Garden, Queen Bey headed to the suburb about 20 miles northwest of Boston, where she took over the store intercom.
Blue Ivy’s mom made the following announcement for shoppers, caught on video (above) to the sound of cheers: “It’s Beyonc. I stopped by the store today because my record just arrived. I want to send everyone a little gift. For everyone in the store right now, the first $50 of your holiday gifts are on me. Merry, merry Christmas from Beyonc.”
Her contribution to the 750 customers made for a total of $37,500 in gift cards, according to a rep for the singer.
Clad in a blue dress and black leather jacket, Beyonce pushed a shopping cart around the store and interacted with shoppers and employees, and even did a little shopping. She had several items, including a doll and Pink toys, in her cart, as fans trailed.
Beyonce also bonded with a little girl in the store, and chatted with the blonde toddler while holding her in her arms.
“It really was fun,” said one employee. “I was just glad I was here.”

That?s really nice. No shade. I always think it?s a nice stunt when a celebrity?s like ?I?m paying for this!? Also ? the night before her whirlwind Wal-Mart excursion, Beyonce partied at? Dave & Buster?s?? Seriously, what?s going on? Did someone tell her that she needed to stop being so elitist and Goopy? According to Us Weekly, she played Dance Dance Revolution, took photos with normals and posted with a specialty cake made by the Cake Boss people.
