Situated overseas as she readies to kick off her tour, Kelly Clarkson was spotted leaving her hotel in Dublin, Ireland on Friday afternoon (February 5).
Looking to be in a chipper mood, the “American Idol” alum joked around with her pals before loading up onto her bus to hit The Olympia Theatre for a gig scheduled for this evening.
The sighting comes just after Miss Clarkson responded to comments made by Big Machine Records’s Scott Borchetta - who dubbed singer Taylor Swift as “the voice of this generation.”
Borchetta said, “This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator.”
Upset over the attack on “Idol,” Kelly snipped back via her blog: “We not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well.”
Later adding that her remarks weren’t an attack on Miss Swift, Clarkson told, “I buy her albums and cover her songs, obviously I’m a fan.”

Spending some time across the pond, Kelly Clarkson was spotted arriving at a Dublin, Ireland hotel earlier today (February 2).
The “My Life Would Suck Without You” songstress looked cute and casual, sporting red hair and a makeup-less complexion.
It sounds like Kelly has been looking forward to touring the UK for quite some time, as she will finally get to see some sights this time around.
She explained, “Manchester is one of my favorite places to play. For some reason those people there are really rad and go nuts. They are easily my best audience. This will be the first tour where I get some time off in between shows so I plan to check out the city properly.”

I was wrong about Lady Gaga?s Elle cover yesterday - it was actually for Elle America, not Elle UK. Gaga and Britney will ?share? the Elle cover for January 2010 - actually they?re dueling covers, one with Gaga looking like Madonna, and this one, with Britney and her boys (I don?t know which is which). Britney looks pretty, doesn?t she? And the boys look happy and healthy too. Of course, the additional Elle photos reveal Britney?s busted weave, but no matter. If her jacked weave is all we have to worry about, Britney is doing great. Thus far, Elle hasn?t released anything from an interview, but the blurb they have online reads like a press release written by Britney?s ?team?.
A decade after her titillating debut in pigtails and a plaid Catholic school skirt, we find ourselves cheering on Britney Spears once again. There have been, of course, speed bumps in recent years?a divorce, feuds with family, a very public breakdown?but the past 12 months have witnessed a cautious yet emphatic comeback.
With Circus, her triumphant 2008 album and subsequent world tour, Britney reasserted herself as a pop music ringleader, firmly in control of the spectacle. The album is the star?s fifth to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200?making her the youngest woman to accomplish that feat. And the nearly yearlong tour, with its elaborate $50 million extravaganza featuring DSquared2 costumes (nine outfit changes a night, including Britney as a trapeze artist, a magician?s assistant, and, somewhat perplexingly, a policewoman), was among the highestgrossing concert tours in the United States last year, rivaling those of U2 and Bruce Springsteen.
With another greatest-hits record freshly arrived (and a new single, ?3,? which raced up the Billboard chart), we see flashes of vintage Brit, the one we love?blond, happy, and back on top.
This is no small turnabout. Rare is the artist who can pirouette from teen idolhood to a discerning adult audience; not even Madonna, Britney?s idol, had to do that. But Britney was a teen pop princess who knew how to build an image (the virginal temptress) and sell it through videos (her 1999 breakout ??Baby One More Time?) that nimbly walked the line between sweetness and provocation.
Now, at 28, her sound is grittier (as in the throbby 2008 hit ?Womanizer?) and her lyrics reveal a confident sexuality. Britney may have sung ?I?m not that innocent? on her 2000 single ?Oops!?I Did It Again,? but today, there?s no argument, with frank lyrics such as those on ?3?: ?Merrier the more/ Triple fun that way/ Twister on the floor.? The new track represents Spears? rekindled partnership with the reclusive Swedish producer Max Martin (Katy Perry?s ?I Kissed a Girl?; Kelly Clarkson?s ?Since U Been Gone?), who wrote ??Baby One More Time? but hadn?t worked with the singer in more than seven years.

Yes, yesterday was Britney?s 28th birthday. She celebrated in a very low-key fashion, going shopping, being serenaded to by the paparazzi and being sober. Good for her. Happy birthday, Brit, and congratulations. Hopefully, Brit stays in a sobriety and zero-insanity holding pattern for many years to come. Now we only need to get her to fix the damn weave!

'American Idol' alum is looking to release new LP next fall.By James Dinh

Kelly Clarkson's post-"American Idol" career has been full of surprises, and judging from a recent interview with Chicago radio station Kiss FM 103.5, her next album may contain even more — like a departure from her signature rock/pop sound.
"Yeah, we're already working on it," she told DJ Ty Bentli. "We tour throughout 2010 overseas and then we actually are probably going to have released the record in the fall of 2010," Clarkson said of next year's agenda.
Aside from writing some of her own songs, the singer is currently penning tracks for other artists, noting that she sometimes keeps the tracks for herself if she really likes them.
"What's really weird is right now I've got a really cool [music] publisher I work with that has hooked me up with a lot of different writers that do a lot of tracks and stuff," she said. "So we've been writing for other artists but then I end up liking it so much that I can't give them away, but they're really different. The next record is probably going to be really different."
Clarkson did not specify which artists she's been writing for. And while the "American Idol" alum is heavily involved in the creative process, she did confess that her hectic schedule can sometimes interfere with how much she actually gets to write on a record.
"If I end up liking stuff that I've done I'll include it, but if I like other stuff better then I'll just have more of that. Sometimes you're just more inspired, I guess, and especially if you have records that come out real close together, it might be more other people's songs because there's not enough time to write and sing and perform and do everything," she said.
The North American leg of Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted Tour ends in New Orleans on December 13, and the singer begins her lengthy overseas jaunt — which is scheduled to cover Europe, Australia and New Zealand over 10 weeks — in England on February 7.

Enjoying her time in New York City, Kelly Clarkson was spotted grabbing a quick salad at a Manhattan deli yesterday afternoon (October 5).
And it looks like the “American Idol” champ may have given her stylist the day off, as she looked a bit rough in a pair of hot Pink shades with a red and black plaid shirt.
Tonight, Kelly will be taking the stage for a concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom with support acts Parachute and The Veronicas.
A few days ago, Kelly surprised a Connecticut crowd when she busted out her version of Alanis Morissette’s “That I Would Be Good” blended with Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody.”

NEW YORK — Kelly Clarkson is looking to put all this Ryan Tedder drama behind her.
For the uninitiated, much was made earlier this summer when people noticed the similarities between Clarkson's "Already Gone" and Beyonc's "Halo," similarities that seemed more than coincidental, considering both songs were written by the same guy: OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder.
So many people began to talk about it that eventually Clarkson weighed in, saying she had no idea about Beyonc's song when she was recording hers, but that, when she heard it -- and noted how similar it was to hers -- she immediately called Tedder and asked him, "Why would you do that?"

She got her start as the very first American Idol and now Kelly Clarkson is returning to the show that made her famous to help out with the judging duties.
According to a report, the “My Life Would Suck Without You” songstress has been invited to help fill the void left by Paula Abdul’s departure.
And an inside source told press that Miss Clarkson is eager to be reunited with the AI crew. “Kelly is beyond excited to get back to the show that started it all.”
Also on the docket of celebrity judges are Mary J. Blige, Victoria Beckham, Joe Jonas, and Shania Twain. Should be an exciting season!

The Self cover featuring an alternate reality version of Kelly Clarkson where she’s thin and attractive is garnering a lot of criticism. Lucy Danziger, editor-in-chief of the magazine, decided to respond.
Did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best. Did we publish an act of fiction? No. Not unless you think all photos are that. But in the sense that Kelly is the picture of confidence, and she truly is, then I think this photo is the truest we have ever put out there on the newsstand.
So… Kelly’s personal best is to be 30 pounds lighter with a completely different bone structure? That’s good to know that right now she’s a failure. I wonder how she feels about that. Pretty good, I bet.
I mean, it’s not even the same person on the cover which is what makes the comment “truest we have ever put out there” so laughable. Are they honestly trying to convince themselves of that? You could put Porky Pig in place of Kelly Clarkson and it’d still be the “truest” they’ve ever put on the cover. Who are we fooling here? Let’s be honest. We all know what they Photoshopped out. The drumstick in her hand and a layer of chicken grease over her mouth. But there’s nothing wrong with that. Leave it in. Everyone already accepts her for being a fatass.
