Kelly Clarkson welcomed her first baby, a daughter named River, back in June 2014. Then in April of this year, she gave birth to her second child, son Remington Alexander. Just the idea of two babies in the span of two years is enough to make me crazy, so the reality is probably pretty overwhelming. Add to that the fact that everyone felt the need to talk sh-t about Kelly?s body during and after her pregnancies, it?s enough to make me sick. So, Kelly had been out and about in the past week to talk about her new children?s book, and she was an absolute delight everywhere she went. I mean, we already knew that about Kelly, right? She?s a ray of sunshine, she?s funny, she?s positive, and she?s not going to tell hippie-dippy stories about how parenthood and pregnancy is all a basket of kittens. Apparently, she?s so certain that she never wants another baby that she got her tubes tied AND she made her husband get a vasectomy.
After her difficult pregnancies with her children River Rose and Remington Alexander, Kelly Clarkson is totally and completely done having kids. The 34-year-old singer joined Jenny McCarthy on Sirius XM Entertainment Thursday and revealed that not only did she get her tubes tied after Remi’s birth in April, but she made her husband, Brandon Blackstock, get a vasectomy, too.
“I was literally pregnant with Remi, and I was like, ‘You are getting fixed. This will never happen to me again,’” she revealed. “If something happens, it’s a miracle of God. I literally told my OBGYN on the table while open, ‘If I get pregnant again, I will find you!’”
As she’s revealed in the past, Clarkson struggled through her pregnancies, suffering from terrible morning sickness and nausea.
“It’s horrible. Nothing is beautiful, nothing is magical,” she said of being pregnant. “Whatever, you’re that person that gets that pregnancy, good for you. But I will remind my children every day of their lives what I [went through]. I was like hospitalized both pregnancies. And then I thought, I wanted another little buddy [for River]. I didn’t want a kid to just be an odd man out because I felt like that a lot. I wanted her to have somebody her age, like when we’re traveling. And so I thought, ‘OK, we’ll just do it again.’ I was like, ‘There’s no way it can happen again,’ but it was worse. Remi’s pregnancy was worse than River’s.”

That?s totally? amazing. To be so hellbent on never having another child that you close down both avenues. It?s not like, ?Oh, I need an IUD after this pregnancy.? No. Kelly was like ?shut this down on my end and his end too.? Two babies and DONE. Jessica Simpson felt the same way after her back-to-back pregnancies, although I don?t think Jessica had her tubes tied and forced her husband to have a vasectomy.
Kelly was also delightful on Late Night with Seth Meyers. She told an amazing story about meeting then-Senator Obama for the first time, and I swear, I laughed every time she made a ?baby senator? joke.

Surprising no one, Kelly Clarkson is knocked up again! Kelly and her husband Brandon Blackstock welcomed baby girl River Rose in June 2014. Kelly fell instantly in love with her baby, with motherhood, with all of it. She had gone on record saying that she wanted more babies, as soon as possible. And now it?s happening!
And a baby makes four! Kelly Clarkson spilled some seriously exciting news during her Los Angeles concert at Staples Center tonight?that she’s pregnant with her second child!
The former American Idol star told the packed crowd, “This is not how I wanted to announce [that I'm pregnant]. My makeup artist is backstage hating me. I didn’t want you to think I’m on pills or something.”
She added, “I would like to apologize to my husband. This was not planned. I’m just so hormonal. Everything is great, I haven’t vomited yet. That’s a win y’all.”
The exciting news comes after Clarkson’s famously difficult first pregnancy, which she described months after giving birth to her little girl River Rose Blackstock back in June 2014. In fact, during an interview on BBC’s Radio 1 Breakfast Show she shared that she was hospitalized and had an overall “bad pregnancy, so I had to take off way more time than normal.”
And in a sit-down with ET Canada, the crooner recalled how she suffered from many complications, including losing her famous voice shortly after giving birth, and initially didn’t know how to handle all of the her health concerns.
“Afterwards was the part where I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day,” she explained. “I was like, ?Oh God, I’m not going to be a singer anymore.’ I was bawling to my husband and completely hammered, just going, ?Oh my God, it’s over. I don’t know what I’m going to do I guess I could do more charity work.’ I didn’t know what I was going to do.”

Part of the reason I love Kelly as a celebrity is that she?s able to tell the truth while still being an overwhelmingly positive person. She?s really funny too, and she?s probably riding a wave of hormones. She just wanted to tell people about the pregnancy! Well, I?m happy for her. I hope Kelly?s unhinged haters won?t climb on her ass about her weight as well.

Kelly Clarkson has an excellent new interview with Rolling Stone. I?ve been enjoying Kelly so much this year! I?ll admit it, she used to annoy me a little bit, but I feel like her overwhelming positivity and far-reaching love and tolerance is especially welcome these days. In this RS interview, Kelly talks about Jane Austen, the lawsuit against Robin Thicke and Pharrell, marijuana and so much more. Some highlights:
Her “Heartbreak Song” sounds like Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle?: ?I didn’t write the song, I just sang it. But I didn’t catch that. Nobody behind the scenes did. What’s funny is that I was a huge fan of that Jimmy Eat World album! We actually thought our song sounded like the Postal Service ? that was our big concern. I thought it was really cool of Jimmy Eat World to say, “Hey, no harm, no foul.” There are only so many chords. I felt so bad for Pharrell when he got sued ? he’s a huge fan of Marvin Gaye, and you know he didn’t mean to rip him off. And he’s the sweetest guy ever. It sucks.
She?s pro-legalization of marijuana: ?I’m not even a pothead, I just think it’s funny that we legalize something as destructive as alcohol or pills and not that. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some alcohol, but I don’t know anybody in rehab because of pot. And I know a ton of people that have died either from liver cancer or behind the wheel. We legalize things that are so disturbing for our bodies, but one that’s completely fine, we say, “No, that’s bad for you.” I’m like, “Okay, enjoy your scotch. Enjoy your Xanax.”
Her favorite Jane Austen character: ?That is hard! Persuasion is my favorite book, but my favorite character ? I’m going to be so clich right now and say Elizabeth Bennet, even though Pride and Prejudice is not my favorite. I like her boldness. But my favorite character from a book is Jane Eyre, actually. She’s thrown every hurdle known to man ? she was never shown love, she was thrown into that orphanage, she was fighting just to exist, and then she ends up falling in love with this tortured guy. And I love that she never caved or succumbed to a dark side. When you’re thrown into the worst parts of your life, that’s what really shows your character.
Putting a woman on the $20 bill: ?Oh, Lord. I love that idea. We should probably put Oprah. I feel a little bad about taking someone else off, though. That’s kind of the worst slap in the face. Andrew Jackson is somewhere really pissed off.
She?s a Hillary Clinton fan: ?I’m a fan of Hillary. She’s badass. I don’t just want a woman to win, I want the right person. And I think she’s also that.
She has a new line of greeting cards: ?Well, they’re all based on humor. I like a good laugh. Even if you’re sad or it’s a birthday card or a sweet one for your mom, it can still be funny. My sense of humor is a little crass. I’m a little white-trash and a little class.?

Ha, I think she?s joking about putting Oprah on the $20 bill. If we do get a woman on the $20, it would probably be Harriet Tubman (apologies to Raven-Symone), Rosa Parks or maybe?? I don?t know, Elizabeth Cady Stanton? Also, I have nerd-rage about Elizabeth Bennet as her favorite Austen heroine!! At least she says Persuasion is her favorite Austen book overall.

I like that Kelly Clarkson shows off her baby River Rose whenever possible. I think it?s natural to want to show off your kid, but so many celebrities play these complicated games about ?not wanting? to show off their kid while simultaneously showing off their kid. Kelly has no angst about it. She posts endless photos of River Rose on her social media, and here they are on the cover of the new issue of Redbook. Kelly is promoting her new album, but most of the interview is about motherhood and body image. Kelly has faced a barrage of body criticism from trolls and douchebags in recent months, and she?s still laughing it off. Some highlights from Redbook:
Kelly is all about sexy times with her husband: “I always swore ours would not be a relationship where we have to schedule sex. That is never going to happen. We put each other first. I call it the oxygen-mask mentality?take care of yourself first!”
Whether Brandon Blackstock is her other half: “Goodness, no! He’s a whole and I’m a whole. I’ve never believed in someone taking care of me, and that’s probably because I grew up poor and without a lot of family stability.”
Body critics: “There are just some people who are born skinny and with a great metabolism?that is not me. I wish I had a better metabolism. But someone else probably wishes they could walk into a room and make friends with everyone like I can. You always want what someone else has. I don’t obsess about my weight, which is probably one of the reasons why other people have such a problem with it.?

Am I the only one who teared up at these quotes? I?m not hormonal, I swear, but I just felt such a strong wave of love for Kelly and her amazing positivity and outlook on life. ?I’ve never believed in someone taking care of me?? YES. SO MUCH YES. Her husband does not ?complete? her. She was not incomplete without a man. She was a whole person and she fell madly in love.

During her chat on ?The Ellen DeGeneres Show? the ?Stronger? songstress commented on the cruel and insensitive remarks she?s endured from both fans and fellow celebrities- ?Well, it hurts your feelings more if it?s someone else that you like. Ya know, if it?s you, you?re just like, ?Whatever.' I think what hurts my feelings for people is then I?ll have like a meet and greet after a show, and a girl that?s like bigger than me will be in the meet and greet and be like, ?Oh, god,? and they?ll say, ?If they think you?re big, I must be like so fat to them.??
Kelly continued, ?And it?s like, you?re just who you are. We are who we are. Whatever size. And it doesn?t mean that you?re gonna be that forever.?

She?s always encouraged women to love their bodies, no matter the size, and Kelly Clarkson put Katie Hopkins in her place after a series of less-than-loving tweets.
Hopkins, a sharp-tongued critic of pretty much everyone, took to Twitter after seeing the ?Since You?ve Been Gone? singer on ?The Graham Norton Show,? stating, "Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen. #grahamnorton," followed by, "Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves.?
Clarkson told Heat magazine, "She's tweeted something nasty about me? That's because she doesn't know me. I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will. I've just never cared what people think. It's more if I'm happy and I'm confident and feeling good, that's always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family -- I don't seek out any other acceptance."

Prior to the Spirit-filled moment, Kelly told fans, "This is a church song, this is a soulful song. This is one of my favorite songs out right now.?
Swift, who was watching, tweeted, "Watching Kelly Clarkson SLAY ?Shake It Off? is an excellent way to celebrate 26 HOURS TIL 1989!!!!!! #TS1989.?
Clarkson wrote back, "@taylorswift13 Love this song! Hope you like our gospel beginning ha! We had fun with it! Congrats on the new album coming out girl!"
