Pregnant Natalie Portman really nailed it at the Oscars in a draped eggplant-colored Rodarte gown that emphasized her gorgeous cleavage without revealing too much. I was surprised to see Natalie looking so red carpet-ready when she was a big yellow fail in a babydoll dress at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday. Plus who can forget her Pink and red rose gown at the Globes? She recovered well at the SAGs, though, and she brought it last night at the Oscars.
Some people criticized me for disliking Portman’s effusive Oscar speech. I expected her to be a lot more polished, especially because she seemed very practiced in her interviews with Ryan Seacrest and Robin Roberts on the red carpet. I get the comments that she’s pregnant and hormonal and was overwhelmed in the moment. She’s been in the business long enough not to blather on like she did, though, and I honestly thought she would self correct a little after some of her earlier speeches.
Still, she looked gorgeous and so well put together. I love her wavy sideswept hair and she has on just the right amount of perfectly flattering makeup. Her dress was tailored so well and showed off her cute strappy shoes. The earrings were a little weird, but they were probably meant to mirror the subtle vertical beading around her bodice. Overall she was lovely.

Capping off quite the impressive awards show run, Natalie Portman was named as Best Actress at the 83rd annual Academy Awards on Sunday night (February 27).
The pregnant actress understandably was a bit overwhelmed as her name was announced, taking the stage to collect her hardware for her role in the movie "Black Swan".
During her speech, Natalie started off by thanking her fiance, Benjamin Millepied, as she said, "My beautiful love Benjamin"who choreographed the film. He's given me most important role of my life."
Miss Portman continued to dote praise on a few more important people, gushing, "Luc Besson gave me my first job when I was 11 years old. She added, "Darren Aronofsky: You are a fearless leader and a visionary. I'm blessed to have worked with you every day."

The Best Actress Oscar has gone to Natalie Portman for her grueling, rib-breaking role in Black Swan, as was widely predicted. Kaiser and I were hoping that Annette Benning might win in an upset, but Natalie took it as expected after sweeping the awards season. She was a bit too effusive in her Golden Globes speech and got bleeped during her SAG Acceptance speech. She’s practiced and prepared for this moment, but she still got overwhelmed when her moment came and blathered on for a while.
Portman kissed her fiance and let him lead her up the steps. When she got to the microphone, her voice broke and she said “I truly wish that the prize tonight was to get to work with my fellow nominees, I’m so in awe of you.” She said she’s thankful for being able to do her job, and to her parents for “giving me life.” Then she rattled off a list of people she wanted to thank including Darren Aronofsky, calling him a “fearless leader and visionary.” She gave a bunch of names of people who helped her prepare for the role, and then thanked “My beautiful love, Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed the film and has now given me my most important role of my life.” Then she said “there are people on films that no one ever talks about who are your heart and soul every day.” She gave shout outs to her hair, makeup, camera people and more and thanked her friends and family yet again. Oh Natalie, you’re an actress and you had enough practice for this moment. It didn’t have to be another “conceiving the conception,” but it was.

Bringing her stunning beauty to the red carpet, Natalie Portman turned up for the 83nd annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening (February 27).
Held at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, the expecting actress was the center of attention as she perused along the red carpet ahead of the festive ceremony.
Miss Portman is planning on having a big night - as she's the odds on favorite to take home Best Actress honors for her work in "Black Swan".
Making for quite the star-studded affair, celebrity presenters hitting the stage include Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Jude Law and Matthew McConaughey.
The Oscar Awards are hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco while airing live on ABC at 8PM ET.

The ?V For Vendetta? babe looked fabulous as she posed for the press outside the beachfront tent in Santa Monica, California.
Miss Portman will be competing for some hardware in the ever-popular Best Actress category for her work in the critically-acclaimed flick ?Black Swan.?
The 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards will be hosted by Joel McHale and broadcast on IFC tonight at 10:00pm Eastern Time.

Enjoying some pre-Oscar action, Natalie Portman was spotted at the Vanity Fair Campaign/Fox Searchlight shindig in Hollywood last night (February 24).
The ?Garden State? gal donned a flowing white dress as she posed outside Bar Marmont before heading inside for the fun-filled evening.
Earlier in the day, Natalie and her fiance/babydaddy Benjamin Millepied arrived at LAX International Airport with her pooch pal Whiz.
And this Sunday, Ms. Portman will compete for the Best Actress Oscar trophy at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.

Ugh. Below is the new commercial for Miss Dior Cherie perfume, starring Natalie Portman. Natalie is also the face of the perfume in print ads too, which I think were probably done before Natalie was pregnant, or when she was just a few months into conceiving her conception. I don?t even have words for how much I dislike this commercial. It was directed by Sofia Coppola, and it uses the famous Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin song, ?Je t’aime…moi non plus”. But I didn?t realize that at first, and I thought Natalie Portman was singing - Birkin sounds like Natalie, or vice versa.
It?s just awkward. Like, it was aiming for girly and fun-sexy, but it?s odd seeing Natalie pretend to be silly and fun while her default expression is ?Imma gonna cut somebody? bitchface. In the last shot, where she undoes the tie from her neck, she looks less provocative and more pissed off. And I hate the way the dude jerks Natalie back onto the bed. It seems rude.

Bringing an end to a momentous weekend, Natalie Portman joined fiance Benjamin Millepied for a weekend walk in New York City on Sunday (February 20).
The expecting actress dressed for the chilly east coast weather in a long, faux fur lined jacket with jeans as she and her man did a little household shopping the the Big Apple locale.
As for the big news over the weekend, Miss Portman's Oscar nominated movie "Black Swan" continued to pile up the cash - as it broke the $100 million domestic mark in its 12th week of release.
Natalie's also gearing up for the April release of her new drama "Hesher," which co-stars "Inception" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and "The Office" actor Rainn Wilson.
Having just debuted the trailer, "Hesher" is the story of a loner who hates the world while touching on topics such as loss and adolescence.

Life & Style?s mystery, unnamed source has just claimed that Natalie Portman is conceiving the conception of a little boy. If it?s true, Mazel Tov, etc. Perhaps the source is Benjamin Millipied? I mean, why not? The Ballet K-Fed must have attention. He demands it. In truth, though, I see Benjamin aiming more towards a friendly little People Magazine mini-interview on some red carpet, somehow letting the sex of the baby ?slip?. So whoever Life & Style?s source is, must be someone alienated by Natalie?s Bitchface of Doom. Perhaps someone at her gyno?s office? Natalie seems like the type to treat “the help” badly.
Expect Natalie Portman’s bundle of joy to be swaddled in blue! A source close to the couple reveals to Life & Style that Natalie and fiance Benjamin Millepied are expecting a baby boy!
“They’ve only told a very small group of family members and friends that they’re expecting a son,” the insider tells Life & Style. “They are so excited. Benjamin cannot wait to be a father.”
Natalie is due in early spring and the parents-to-be could not be happier. The two looked overjoyed when they met Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky and a group of friends for lunch in NYC on Feb. 10. “Natalie had a big smile on her face,” says an eyewitness. “She looked amazing.”

I still kind of think Benjamin isn?t destined to last very long as Natalie?s fianc/partner guy. Natalie plucks my last nerve, but I give her credit for being smart enough to dump Benjamin at some point. Considering her crazy gushing at all of the awards shows, however, Benjamin might last longer than I?m expecting.
Still, a boy! I hope everyone is happy and healthy, and may the little boy inherit his mother’s magnificent bitchface and not the maniacal laugh.
