Natalie Portman’s first baby (boy?) pirouetted from her uterus on Tuesday, reports PEOPLE.
Natlie and fiance Benjamin Millepied haven’t released his name (or any other details) but expect it not to matter because he’ll just change it anyway when he gets into the business. Right, Natalie Hershlag?

It?s an exciting week for Natalie Portman, as she and her fianc Benjamin Millepied welcomed a baby boy!
The ?Garden State? babe and her French-born ballet boy are proud parents and feel thrilled to be embarking on parenthood.
Natalie met Benjamin on the set of her critically-acclaimed film ?Black Swan? and they had an instant connection, according to an insider.
"It was seductive to watch them. There was no way the attraction could be missed. I don't think he could help himself -- she's dazzling!"
As Portman?s pregnancy progressed, she told press, "One of the most exciting things about being pregnant is that I'm accepting the complete unknown. It's a complete mystery and miracle. It's really just accepting that I have no idea, which is what all of us live every day.?

Yay! I had a premonition this past weekend that we would be hearing this announcement in the week to come. Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied have welcomed a baby boy. What?s a baby swan called? A gosling? No, a cygnet. So, welcome the Black Swan cygnet. Unfortunately, Natalie and Benjamin didn?t release a named yet (they could do worse than Cygnet Millepied, honestly - little Cyggie!), but I suspect that Natalie and Ben will pick something pretty normal for their kid.
It’s been a big year for Natalie Portman: an engagement, an Oscar and now a baby!

Portman, 30, met choreographer Millepied on the set of Black Swan, for which she later won an Oscar for Best Actress.
In December the couple announced that they were engaged and expecting their first child.

No jokes about how Sarah Lane did 90% of the pushing, okay? My guess is that Natalie is going to be one of those Gisele-type mothers who goes on and on about natural childbirth. As is her right, I suppose. It will be interesting to see what information Natalie releases in the days, weeks and months to come. I suspect we?ll hear the name at some point, but Natalie will probably save most of the info for when she?s promoting her next movie, right?
In any case, mazel tov to the happy family!

| Natalie Portman's pregnancy cravings: ketchup on pickles | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Is anyone else surprised with the state of Natalie Portman?s pregnancy? She got so big so fast, I kind of thought she might have been lying (or simply abstaining from the truth) about her conception date. When she announced her pregnancy (and engagement, in the same breath) back in December, I thought she had probably waited until she was past her third month, which meant she was due perhaps in in June sometime. Then, as the weeks turned into months, I thought maybe she was due around right not - late April, maybe May. I still don?t really know. She?s so big! Maybe she?s just so big because her frame is so petite and it?s so noticeable.
Speaking of Natalie?s pregnancy, gossip columnist Mike Walker at the Enquirer had a cute story about her pregnancy cravings:
Talk about weird pregnancy cravings! Spies say Oscar-winner Natalie Portman strolled into a favorite Jewish deli - LA?s legendary Canter?s - blew off the breakfast menu and ordered four giant-size kosher dill pickes - then grimaced as the galpal dinging with her dove into an order of fried eggs!
?Eww, how can you eat those things? they?re all runny and slimy,? wailed mommy-to-be.
But when Natalie squirted a huge glob of ketchup on her dills, then chomped and chewed with pickle juice drizzling down her chin, her pal squealed, ?You?re one to talk! LOOK AT YOU! You?re turning my stomach, and everybody?s else?s too!?
Sure enough, nearby diners were openly aghast and amaused by Portman?s yucky noshing, but Natalie, unfazed, just grinned and rubbed her happy belly.?
[From The Enquirer, print edition]
Kosher pickles with ketchup? Eh, that?s no so bad. It?s like just sitting around and eating hamburger condiments. By the way, I sometimes get my dog cheeseburgers from McDonalds (seriously, he loves them), and his FAVORITE part is the pickle. I don?t why I just thought of that, but for some reason, my dog?s taste buds are aligned with Natalie Portman?s pregnancy cravings.
Two more things. First, there were some new photos of Natalie this week, which you can see here at Celebuzz. I can?t tell if that?s her Everyday Bitchface or if it?s her special, ?I?m So Over This F&*#@ Pregnancy? Bitchface. Last thing? is this blind item about Natalie, Darren Aronofsky and Rachel Weisz?!?!
When this famous director dropped out of a high-profile project, there was some speculation that it was due to personal rather than professional reasons. He had broken up with an actress last year, and it was believed that each was taking time off from work to battle over the custody of their child/ren. What isn?t public knowledge is that their breakup was due in large part to his affair with another actress? who became pregnant with his baby. The jury is still out on whether or not any of the three will ever acknowledge the affair and/or the baby?s paternity.

Oh, snap. Thousand Feet is going to get to get his tights in a twist over this one. We?ll know for sure if the baby is born with a dirt-lip.

Taking care of her pet owner responsibilities, Natalie Portman was spotted taking her dog for a walk in New York City today (April 27).
The ?V for Vendetta? actress tried her best to shield her face from the paparazzi, sporting a blue top and black leggings as she made her way around Manhattan.
In a recent interview, Natalie shared that filming ?Black Swan? almost drove her to an emotional breakdown so she was thankful that her next projects were a little less intense.
"(Thor) probably delayed the onset of a total breakdown from the efforts of doing Black Swan, which (was) going to hit at any moment. We got nice long breaks and I got to read in my trailer which was very comfortable and has a bed. I could eat whenever I wanted and train whenever I felt like it.?
"Also I went on to do the Ivan Reitman comedy No Strings Attached as well. They didn't require a lot of research ahead of time. They didn't require any specific physical training. Both were very fun projects, surrounded by friends."

| Natalie Portman is no longer vegan, or comparing eating meat to rape | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Natalie Portman has been a vegetarian or a vegan for many, many years. She was always very vocal about it, even writing about it in a now-infamous Huffington Post essay regarding Jonathan Safran Foer’s book Eating Animals back in 2009. Natalie was criticized back then for the essay because while she defended her veganism in particular and Foer?s book in general, she took a novel approach - comparing meat-eaters to rapists. For. Real. Here?s the relevant passage:
I say that Foer’s ethical charge against animal eating is brave because not only is it unpopular, it has also been characterized as unmanly, inconsiderate, and juvenile. But he reminds us that being a man, and a human, takes more thought than just “This is tasty, and that’s why I do it.” He posits that consideration, as promoted by Michael Pollan in The Omnivore’s Dilemma, which has more to do with being polite to your tablemates than sticking to your own ideals, would be absurd if applied to any other belief (e.g., I don’t believe in rape, but if it’s what it takes to please my dinner hosts, then so be it).
[From Portman?s Huffington Post essay]
So, someone with such strong beliefs - strong enough to compare the non-vegan lifestyle to rape - should be able to stick with it even while pregnant, right? Wrong. As it turns out, while Natalie is pregnant, she?s been giving in to all of her rape fantasies about dairy:
Natalie Portman is giving into her cravings. The 29-year-old Your Highness star — who is expecting her first child with fiance Benjamin Millepied later this summer — is no longer a vegan.
“I actually went back to being vegetarian when I became pregnant, just because I felt like I wanted that stuff,” she said during a Monday phone interview with the Q100 Bert Show in Atlanta. “I was listening to my body to have eggs and dairy and that sort of stuff.”
“I know there are people who do stay vegan,” she added, “but I think you have to just be careful, watch your iron levels and your B12 levels and supplement those if there are things you might be low in in your diet.”
The Oscar-winning actress — who became a vegan in 2009 after reading Jonathan Safran Foer’s Eating Animals — doesn’t regret her decision to become a vegetarian again.
“If you’re not eating eggs, then you can’t have cookies or cake from regular bakeries, which can become a problem when that’s all you want to eat,” she laughed. “I actually wanted eggs at the beginning and then they grossed me out after awhile.”
Food cravings aside, Portman added that she doesn’t know the sex of her unborn child — and she has no plans to find out any time soon, either.
“People can say a lot of things and they have a 50 percent chance of being right,” she laughed. “I’m Jewish and I think in Judaism, there’s a lot of superstition around not doing too much before the baby comes.”
[From Us Weekly]
Look, she has every right to eat whatever she wants while pregnant (and not pregnant, for that matter). It?s good she cares more about giving in to her cravings and getting the necessary nutrients rather than trying to adhere to veganism?s limitations. And hey, it?s not like she?s actually eating meat again - she?s just given in to dairy! Still, it?s kind of funny considering what a big friggin? deal she made about becoming a vegan. And I just love the phrase ?raping dairy? now.
